I am a slow writer - there's no getting around that - but I promise that it will be completed. Comments feed the muse. Just sayin'. 4/8/22 So. That author's note was written a long, long time ago. I wrote it with the best of intentions, I swear. But life happened, and for reasons I won't go into here, I couldn't bring myself to continue writing a story with this subject matter. But that little folder has lived on my desktop for all this time, and I have never forgotten where I left our boys. And so, one day a month or so ago, I opened it up and spent some time reminding myself just how much I love Brian and Justin and Queer As Folk. I still have reservations writing about cancer for 'entertainment'. I am no medical professional, nor have I personally experienced anything like what Brian is going to go through. But I've done more research for this than anything else I've ever done, and I've tried to treat it with the sensitivity and respect it deserves. Please forgive any inaccuracies. I don't even know if anyone will give it a chance again, but I owe to those of you who trusted me and read it all those years ago (and to the boys) to keep my word and try to finish this beast. Brian is a thirty four year old, successful business man and father of an almost ten year old son, Gus but he's lonely and tired of people trying to use him for his money and the power that comes with his name. His company that he had started six years ago is thriving but holds no challenge or joy anymore. Justin is an eighteen year old, recently finished high school and is one step away from hustling. Can these two show each other there is more to life?
