I've been following your Tricky Universe fanfics since just after you wrote Framed for Christmas and I always love seeing that you've started a new story (not just in this series). I think your Brian and Justin are the most 'in character' versions I've read in the QaF fandom.

I guess, for the sake of this story, we are also deliberately forgetting Tricky was fixed?  I seem to remember a line about Brian being asphixiated, and Gus saying Tricky was already fixed.  LOL.

The beginning of the chapter was so sweetly-tempting – Brian is a well known seducer. You always describe his technique so richly and precisely, I almost feel like I’m the one experiencing this bliss :D

The dance was perfect. Like Brian and Justin, I immediately thought of the prom dance, but this one was something special – like it symbolizes the new beginning for them. I hope they will remember this dance above that painful one.

--- Which clown threw up on our cake--- - oh my God. Oh my God, I’ll never stop laughing! That was *so* Brian, so in canon, so refreshing and realistic that I almost fell of my chair! I’ll never look at that cake the same now :)  Before Brian’s remark, though, I was astonished at how beautiful it looks. The rainbow cake! I’ve never even thought this might be possible. I still want to taste it!

The ending was amazing and hilarious. I think it’s a perfect story for anyone who’s in a bad mood – it’ll cheer them up 100%!

Awww... That's why I like this story. And loved the playful banter. Really, really loved the cake and chocolate fiasco.

AS always, a terrific story. Am completely in love with the Tricky stories. I get such odd looks when I read them as it's usually either on a break at work, or curled up at home, adn having people wondering why I'm laughing out loud, quite often hysterically, when I'm reading. Oh if only they knew!! LOL!!

I can completely envision everything in this series and it's always hilarious seeing the interactions of Tricky and now Xeena in my head.

I feel so bad for Emmett.  The cake was a masterpiece and all destroyed.  Tricky sure knows how to make a mess.  It took Ted and Carl to take him down and clean him up.  Let's hope the married couple manage to shower without the four legged contingent interrupting again.

Hi, Kim! I finally caught up with another one of your wonderful stories and I’m so glad I did :) It’s a sheer pleasure to watch Brian and Justin’s life. I had such a pleasant time reading about them – for several hours I was immersed in their world, forgetting about ours. You made them incredibly vivid – they are talking, breathing, fighting, making up… they are so real that I truly feel like I’m a part of their life as well.

Xena is fantastic :) I knew from the start that Brian will allow Justin to have this dog, because even if he’s grumping and protesting, he still can’t deny him anything if Justin wants it strongly enough.

Gus is so sweet and caring… I wonder how he will go through teenage phase. Will he change for the worse? Right now it’s impossible to imagine it, he’s a little Sunshine. Every time he calls Justin ‘Papa’ my heart just freezes. It’s so touching, I wish in the show there was such a moment, too. Justin loves Gus so much.

Tricky still makes me laugh out loud with his antics :) Christ, I feel sorry for Brian, that man is a saint. He can be very patient when he knows something is important for his loves ones, but Xena and Tricky together?? Wow. I’m not sure I would be able to take it :)

‘Altar Boy’ – that’s hilarious!:) I’ve never heard it before. I always admired your ability to pick funny nicknames for every version of Brian and Justin you write. I remember them all.

The wedding was so very beautiful, as well as the vows – I even re-read this part and I smiled every time.

Sorry am sooo late reviewing. Too much going on here. Lee finally ensconced in his new place, going away party for BB, won't be back except for visits, (SAD!!!!) and last but not leasr had to read this wonderful chapter to listeners. Needless to say, not a dry eye in the room. It was the best chapter in the whole story so far. I have reas a long list of their wedding in many stories---but this was by far the very very veey best. The vows were sooooooo good say all the listeners. I had to read that part twice. See what you do to them. All in all quite a busy, happy and sad time for all of us. lol

I really enjoy pet!fics and humorous stories which is why the Tricky stories are my favorites of all your works. Even though I knew Brian would give in and let Justin adopt Xena his concerns were certainly valid since adopting a dog or cat can be a fifteen or twenty year commitment.
I hope whoever will be looking over Tricky and Xena during the wedding will be doing so at a completely different location otherwise I can see them getting loose and creating havoc like in the pilot of the Brady Bunch series where the dog knocked over people and tables including the one with the wedding cake.

I can feel for Brian as I have gotten a Black Lab puppy and he is a handful. He has so much energy he wears me out. I named him Taylor. Loving this but here is a piece of info to get you to change your dog food brand is made by purina and that is owned by nestle and nestle is owned by the koch brothers i buy nothing they make for obvious reasons

I think in the end that is all that ANY writer is looking for when they write. I know that some do it simply for the love of writing. And while I DO enjoy writing about B and J still - and have a lot more ideas in my head - it helps me more than people probably know, simply just to be told that others enjoy my efforts, so you taking the time to let me know that means the world to me.   I'm going to do my best - I am working 12-hr days sometimes, and have a lot of other things going on in RL, so it takes me a while to update, but I WILL finish my two other stories as soon as I can.  I won't, however, rush them simply to get them done; I think that does a disservice to those readers who have been following them so faithfully.  The only thing I can promise is that I will never leave one unfinished, and I will update just as fast as I humanly can.  I'm working on the next part of "MHD" now, so hopefully that will be up soon.;)  What I do after that, I wil have to think about.  Maybe by then, things won't be so crazy, and with at least one of the two WIPs done, I will have more time to write.

 

As for this story, yes, the arrival of Tricky will definitely add to the mix of chaos here. He has, shall we say, been missing his 'idol' in the extreme, so whether he's mellowed or not, seeing him will no doubt set off the excitement again, and maybe not in a good way for Brian.  But that's the fun, isn't it? And now he has a cohort in crime, thanks to Justin's decision to add Xena to their household.  She just may outdo her dad in the stunts department, too; only time will tell that.;)

Love the name of the new pup.  But I can see that Justin has his work cut out for him.  I've notice the more you ignore them the better behaved the dog is.  Maybe that would work?  How will Brian react when he finds out who all is coming to the wedding?

I'm completely sympathetic to Brian's situation! (My cat sounds like he's as much of a problem as Xena is) Sounds like this new pup is going to be a challenge for quite some time!! 

AS for Tricky making another appearance. Glad I get to just read about it and not experience it!! LOL! You know it's going to  be hilarious! (Of course, as Brian said, we all know he'd give into Gus as well....) His level of patice is definitely going to be seted! Looking forward to the wedding! sounds like it's going to be..........memorable to say the least!

OK Pep talk over: Thoughts on the story

Cute as always, an unusual idea adding yet another dog into the mix. Love that you called the dog Xena. (I have recently been getting re-aquainted with the show) Lovin the pics and the dog bed/couch. Never seen anything like that.

Looking forward to what happens when Tricky and Xena meet. Something tells me, Britin's going to get a whole lot louder.....

Everyone should have someone that loves them the way Brian loves Justin.

I cried thinking about Justin tearing up when Brian yelled. Great writing.

Came across this story when I checked recent stories. Happy to see it is part of a series so got started on Tricky Universe - great stories, I love them, really enjoyable and can't wait to read more. So happy you are doing another story with Tricky, the little Xena. I hope Tricky is better behaved, not perfect of course. If Brian had gone next door he wouldn't have the dog go the pound either, such a softy. I hope Brian remembers how Tricky saved Gus and Justin also. I loved the dog bed! Can't wait for more chapters.

I loved Brian's comments in this chapter. His love hate of Tricky and his progeny was as entertaining as always.  Even though Justin's persuasive tactics were eye opening for Brian, it was the the reminder of how Cujo/Tricky saved Justin and Gus' lives that did the trick. I could see that be the trump card only used when nothing else worked. Brian held out pretty well.

I hate to hear about you or any other devoted writer giving up. I don't know about about any other reader, but as I have have gotten up in years, so has my family and helath issues are escalating. I wonder if that is the case for other readers - an aging population. Nevertheless, I have always admired any writer who has taken the time out of their busy lives to provide some much needed relief and distraction from some of the drudgery or disappointment of RL. Again, I believe you were the first author I read in this fandom and you are one of the reasons I am still here today reading when I should be working on a resume`, lol.

As far as leaving reviews anonymously, I have tried several times to re-register after forgetting my password and I received no response. I took that as a sign. I needed to prioritize. I still read but not as timely as before or as I would like or as consistently. But I can't see myself ever leaving the QAF world, completely.

I was delighted to hear from you.   I know you have been one of my most loyal followers pretty much since the beginning, and I really appreciate that.  To say that I am busy is an understatement. Sigh...I was at work last night until 8:00 p.m., and have two more late nights next week.  I won't get into everything that I have to do, but suffice to say that it keeps me just this shy of tearing what little hair I have left completely out - ha!

You may be right about the lack of responses, but I still get easily discouraged when I don't receive very many, and it always makes me wonder if the interest in them is waning. The readers who have taken time to leave comments on this story, though, have lifted my sprits somewhat. I stil have precious little time, and still am not sure how long I can keep writing and taking care of so many other things, but I will see once I get my two WIPs done.

Last few days I read all your Tricky stories, I really enjoyed. So touchingly how Tricky and Gus stay with Justin and Brian on Britin.
