thank you for sharing

Author's Response:

Hi, Chandrika!  Thank you for reading, and for leaving a comment. This was my very first story for QAF, so it probably shows.;)  I appreciate you reading it. Thank you again for the support.  Happy New Year!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

The things I like about all your stories, your holiday ones in particular are your descriptions and that you always get to the heart of the matter and they invariably have happy endings.  You describe perfectly Brian's feelings about not seeing his partner, and then you give him what his heart desires.  Bravo!!!

Author's Response:

What a lovely thing to say about my stories - thank you so much!  I know some people probably prefer Brian to be more hard edged, but I like to think this sort of Brian was possible; after all, he did buy a palace 'for his prince.'  Thank you for all the comments and for reading! That really makes my week!  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Aw CUTE~!!!♥

Author's Response:

Hello - thank you for reading this story and for the comment! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. This was actually the very first fan fiction story that I wrote, so it holds a special place in my heart as a result.:)  I do enjoy writing a lot of stories that involve Gus and Brian; I always loved seeing how different he was around his son.

Thank you, too, BTW, for the favorite author designation, as well as the favorite story designation for "Heartstrings;" I am very honored.  I hope you will enjoy some of my other stories as well.

Also, a belated welcome to the site!  I hope you are enjoying reading the stories on here.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

best gift ever!

Author's Response:

Hi, Saskya!  Welcome officially to the site, BTW!  (Even though I know you've been reviewing anonymously until now). Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend. This was my very first fan fiction story that I wrote about B and J, so I'm delighted that you enjoyed it.  Thank you for taking the time to leave me your thoughts - and thank you for all the support for my other stories as well.;)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Wow! way to go girl!!  feature of the month.  We are so proud of you!!!

Author's Response:

LOL! Thank you so much for that!  Yes, it's quite a thrill.  Haven't really gotten any extra reviews for it, though; I think everyone's already read it either on here or somewhere else, but it's still quite an honor.:)  BTW - I should get the next part of "Parent Trap" posted sometime today.  It's a whopper, even by my standards - 17,000 words - yowsa!  Then it's onto Lee's favorite - the dirty world of politics.:)  AND I still have a Christmas story I really want to write somewhere in here.  Yikes!

Thanks again for all your support, lindc and for all the readers you've sent my way.  I can never thank you enough for that.  Say hello to everyone for me and give them my best wishes.:)

Dear Kim,

Congrats on the feature of the month! :)

I think I've read this on FF before, but I absolutely loved re-reading it! Such a sweet story in every way. It definitely put me in a holiday mood, which is exciting on one end (decorating the tree! yay!) and scary in others (my christmas shopping hasn't even been started yet! *facepalm*).

Now, of course, I want to write a B&J Christmas story myself, but...alas, I am completely out of ideas. :( Oh, well... I'll just read other people's wonderful Christmas fics, including yours.

Anyway, can't wait for the the next installments of "The Paper Hearts Killer" and, of course, one of my favorites "The Parent Trap" (and not to forget the other dozen or so awesome stories you are currently working on. How DO you do it?)

Have a fantastic weekend, my friend!

Vin

P.S. Sorry for writing a novel here, couldn't help myself. LOL!

Author's Response:

Hi, Sweetie!  Thanks for the kind words.:)  I was shocked but delighted to see Bob's note about this being highlighted for the month - what a thrill!  Thank you for all your kind words, my friend.:)  This fic holds a special place in my heart because it was the very first story I ever wrote.  I did have it on FF.net originally but changed it slightly before posting it over here.  I'm so glad you like it.:)

As far as my updates, you will be glad to know that I am working hard on the next chapter of "Parent Trap."  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can have it posted this weekend; I'm almost done with it but not quite.  I also have a Christmas story started - one chapter - but I may wait a while until I can get more of it written before I start posting it.  I hope you will like it - can anyone say "jealous Brian?"  I LOVE doing that to him - ha!

Thanks again for leaving me your thoughts, Vin - and BTW - adored your Thanksgiving story!  Hope you have a good weekend, too.:)

This story has been selected to be our featured story for the month of December.

Author's Response:

OMG, Bob!  What a honor - I'm speechless (and that takes a lot for me to be that way!).  Thank you for the accolade.  This story may not be quite the most epic of tales that I've written, but it always holds a special place in my heart because it was my first ever fan fiction story I wrote about the boys, not to mention I was quite impressed with my ability to place that Santa hat on Justin's head in the banner - LOL!  Thanks again for selecting it - I'm thrilled.:)

Love this sweet story.  Am a sucker for a romantic sweet story.  Your pictures of Randy wonderful.  You were so lucky to meet him, wish I could say the same.  Really am envious.  I guess I'm not aggressive enough in the social scene-just in the operating room.

Author's Response:

Hi again, Lexxie!  Thanks so much for reading this one - it was my very first fan fic for the boys, so it's special to me.:)  I'm so glad you liked it.:)  If you like the romantic ones and you're looking for a shorter story instead of my novel-length ones (I hope they warned you about me - LOL!), you might like "Open Mouth, Insert Foot."  It's short but sweet if I do say so myself.:)  "Kinney Christmas" is very romantic, too, and it's timely (well, almost - it's getting there!).  Also, "Dressed for the Occasion."  That one was short but fun for me to write.  Oh, shoot, I hope you read them all - LOL!  Thanks again for your kind words. I'm very grateful.:)~Kimberly

"As Brian looked into the glowing face of his partner, the logistics of how Justin managed to be there with him at the moment were unimportant. What WAS important was that he had wound up here with the two guys he loved more than anything (or anyone else) in the world."

I loved the mistletoe bit. I forget that Justin and Gus came into his life on the same day. Both were very important in his life and made changes to him in a positive way.

Thanks for the story!

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and reviewing, my friend.  You're so good about that, and I am so appreciative.:)  I'm glad you liked this one.  This story was my very first attempt at writing B & J fanfic, so it will always have a special place in my heart.  Thanks again for taking the time to comment - that means a lot to me.:)

Whoops!  I'm sorry I forgot to ask about the blue ribbon  It's great to get one, yes?  Who decides who gets one?  Is it the readers or the tech people.  Any way congrats.  You certainly deserve it. You should have one for a lot of your other stories, they would be best sellers in some circles if you published them.  I have read a ton of things here and I'm sure your stories would sell like hot cakes.  Just an observance.

Author's Response:

Hi, Stacy - Yes, the blue ribbons are a good thing and they mean a lot to me as a writer, because it helps to validate in my mind that I'm writing something that is constructed well both in terms of grammar and in content.:)  So they mean a great deal to me when I see them.  My understanding is that they are mainly decided upon by the administrators of the site, but I'm sure that comments by readers are probably taken into consideration as well.  And normally (especially if it's a new writer), they tend not to be given out until they're completed.  I'm been very lucky in that regard that I will occasionally see one pop up before they're done, which means that the adminstrators have faith in me that I will finish them (trust me, incomplete WIPs are one of my pet peeves when I get absorbed in a story and they aren't finished, so I will always finish mine unless I'm on my death bed! - LOL!).  As a reader as well as a writer, I have been on that end of the spectrum very often, and it is extremely frustrating when they are never finished.  I only wish I could update mine faster!

Anyway, I hope that answers your question.  I never really know when they will pop up, but when they do, I consider them very special, as I consider all the wonderful readers who have read my stories and especially left me feedback, such as yourself.:)  Thanks again; I hope you continue to enjoy more of my stories for a long time to come.:) ~Kimberly

I love Christmas stories.  This one was so sweet.  Loved it.  A Kinney Christmas was a great story.  Christmas is just around the corner are you writing another one.  Just hoping-my inner romantic soul would love one as i'm sure there are other romantics among your readers who would enjoy it as well.

Author's Response:

Hi, Stacy!  So great to hear from you again! Thanks for reading and especially commenting.:)  This story holds a special place in my heart, because it's the first fanfic story I wrote about the boys.:)  I changed it slightly and added to it a little bit before I posted it over here.  I'm so glad you liked it!  As far as another (new) Christmas story, I would love to do another one!  If I can come up with a good storyline, I will definitely consider it.  (I'm always open to suggestions!!).   "Kinney Christmas" was supposed to be a short one last year and it just seemed to get bigger and bigger (a common problem with a LOT of my stories - LOL!). Thanks again for reading!

Cute story.  Puts me in the mood for Christmas and mistletoe.  :)

Author's Response:

Thank you, dear friend.:)  Me, too - only I wish the mistletoe came with BOTH these guys - LOL!  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing - I really appreciate that.  Christmas will be here before we know it - where does the time go???

Love the story. Thank you!

Author's Response:

Thank you, Aleksandra!  I'm delighted that you liked it; I enjoy including Gus somehow whenever I can in my stories, and he certainly had a large part in this one.  Thanks for reading and especailly taking the time to leave feedback; that always makes me very happy.:)

I remember reading this years ago - and as then - it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling deep inside.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for those kind words, Elsa!  I'm honored that you read it then and that you've left comments on it now.  And thank you for the blue ribbon - you know how special those are to me.:)

Lovely, as always.

"Paper Hearts" - yay!  :)  Can't wait.

Cheers,

Vin

Author's Response:

LOL!  Hi, Vin!  Thanks for reading!  Yes, this is about as different from Paper Hearts Killer as night and day, isn't it?  I'm glad you liked it.  Thanks for taking the time to leave me feedback.  I've got maybe a third or so of the next chapter of "PHK" written; with the weekend coming up and grades FINALLY done for my students, hopefully I can kick some serious butt now on the chapter! Speaking of 'butt,' I now have to go back to the boys over there - they are currently basking in their post-coital state - is that enough of a tease for you?  LOL!  Thanks again, my friend.:)

What a sweet story.  I love romantic stories especially Christmas ones.

Author's Response:

I love Christmas stories, too!  I have one more story I haven't posted over here yet that is complete called "The Christmas Surprise" that I hope to add soon.  Hope you will enjoy that one as well.  Thanks again for all the reviews, Kym!:)

Reviewer: Kym (Anonymous) · Date: October 27, 2011 08:08 AM · On: His Two Special Boys

What a wonderful little story.  Most of your stories are long. This one is sweet and very short.  I loved it.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Kym!   The shorter length must be due to it being my very first story and not knowing what was to come - ha!  I was just getting warmed up.:)  Thanks for reading and commenting - I'm very grateful. BTW - I'm still shamelessly plugging myself here - if you're into jealous Brian or Justin stories and don't want real long ones at the moment, if you haven't read them you might like "It's Only Polite to Share" and "Color Me Green."  They both have quite a bit of the romance in them you said you like along with the boys getting jealous, which I love to write about.  Hope you'll give them a try sometime.:)  Thanks again for all the reviews - like lindc said, they are so motivating to me and I appreciate that more than you know.:)

Reviewer: sophie's mom (Anonymous) · Date: October 27, 2011 07:41 AM · On: His Two Special Boys

second read as good as the first.

Author's Response:

Aww...Thanks, my friend; I really didn't expect you to review on this one, because I know you're one of my oldest and most faithful reviewers/readers.:)  The fact that you went to the trouble to do that anyway, knowing you've read it from way back and already commented on it before, means a lot to me.:)  I remember how nervous I was when I posted this very first story, waiting to see if anyone liked it, and the fact that you were one of my first commenters still resonates with me now.  I am so grateful to you for your ongoing support, S.  Thanks so much!  I hope you continue to enjoy a lot of my stories to come and I will continue to look foward to your comments.:)

delightful! this just really mae me smile - and I needed that today, so thank you...and as an added special bonus (maybe an early Christmas present for us) thee will soon be a new chapter in Paper Hearts - I've been waiting oh so patiently ;)

loving life,

Charle

Author's Response:

Hi, Charle!  So pleased that you liked this little bit of fluff!  For once no angst; see, I CAN write those kinds sometimes - ha!  Yes, I AM working on the next chapter of "Paper Hearts Killer."  If I recall, I left the boys right in the middle of a rimmng scene in this next chapter (is that enough to make you drool yet?  LOL!).  Having to do quarterly grades right now, though, is kicking my butt!  Aargh!  But I'm about done so that should definitely help, and I have a little time off coming up in November - yay!  Thanks so much for reading and for the review, my friend, I really am very appreciative of all your support.:)

* sigh * sitting here all alone. And I've not received a text message yet from my youngest daughter. She promised, but she said she would only send a message when it's really really long. * laughs * she knows it cost money to send a message.

Thanks for posting this little fic here, I already read it a long time ago on FF. But this is just so lovely / adorable.

* hugs *

Author's Response:

Thanks, Marny; glad you read it again. I changed it a little, but it's still essentially the same story.:)  Thanks for leaving me feedback; I'm sure the girls are fine and will contact you soon - hope you had a good time at the shows you went to see.:)  *Hugs* to you, my friend.:)

Loved this one-we are suckers for christmas stories--read a kinney christmas to them again.  of course everyone loved it.  we all knew what the surprise was but it's still cute and romantic.  thanx for it.  we all had a difficult several hours so this was a wonderful uplifting thing to read..your stories are a nice balm for us as we have to deal with so much sadness in our daily lives.  love to you. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, dear friend.:)  I'm so pleased you liked this one; it's a lot 'fluffier' than what I've been writing lately and it was already written, so I couldn' resist making up a banner for it and posting it here with my other stories.  Thanks so much for your kind words; I am working on "Paper Hearts Killer" and will hopefully have the next chapter up shortly.  Big *hugs* to all of you  - you're all very special to me.:)
