Gus was always for himself, little bastard should never bee born
Author's Response: Give him a chance. He's a teenager, with all the hormones that go wtih it, as well as the melodrama. He and his father have a close relationship in this story, and that will be reflected later. He'll come around. Thank you for taking the time to comment! ~Kim

Fucking Lindsy, never liked that bitch. She is the cause for all the problems
Author's Response: My co-writer, Mika and I, thought that we could both envision Lindsay in this sort of role. She will continue to be a problem for a while, too, until she gets her smackdown. Thanks again for choosing to read this one. ~Kim

2nd time reading this story and enjoyed it just as much as the 1st. There is just something delightful about it:-)
Author's Response: Hi, Nicky! That is so nice of you to not only read this story again, but take the time to leave feedback about it. Thank you for doing that! This was mainly my co-writer, Mika's, idea, and I helped her to flesh it out from the original concept. I was intrigued by the idea from the beginning, and it wound up being very popular. I would love to collaborate on another story with her, but I believe she has a young child now, so it's not too easy to coordinate doing that now, especially with her being in another country. But perhaps one day.;)
I'm so happy that you enjoyed this story! I had fun writing it. I always love some angst and drama mixed in with the boys eventually being happy. Thank you again for reading, and for all your support. I really appreciate that! I will also pass on your feedback to Mika if I get a chance; not sure if she is still on the site actively or not. :) ~Kim

who was gus in the last banner?
I am sorry, but I don't know. Mika, my co-writer, made the banner, so you could try to contact her via the 'contact author' function on her bio page and ask her. Sorry I can't answer the question. ~Kim

Thank you for sharing! You had me in tears more than once... I really liked your Tristan!
Author's Response: Hi, Steff! My co-writer, Mika, and I appreciate you reading and especially taking the time to comment. I grew to like Tristan as well, and I'm glad that he and Gus managed to end at a good place, along with B and J. When Mika first proposed this plot line to me, I was fascinated, and I really enjoyed co-writing this with her. Wouldn't mind, BTW, writing another one with her one day. Hopefully.;)
Thanks again for reading and for the feedback, Steff! It is greatly appreciated. Hope your new year is a happy and healthy one. ~Kim and Mika

Loved it! The banners and pics were great as well. Just one question, the man that hit Justin with the car was never found? Great job!

Author's Response: Hi, Caryn! Thanks so much for reading this one, and for your comments! No, Mika (my co-author) and I thought about that, but we finally decided it wasn't crucial to the storyline, so the perpetrator was never discovered. I am delighted that you enjoyed this story. Thank you so much. *Hugs* ~Kim

Great little twist with the Gus/Justin story line. Although I am glad you didn't actually pair them up. Enjoyed all the way through.
Author's Response: Hi, Suse! Thank you for reading this story, and for taking the time to comment; my co-writer and I really appreciate that. And BTW, I'm glad we didn't pair Gus up with Justin, too. :) That would have made a union of B & J pretty much inconceivable, I would think. We are so happy you enjoyed this story. In the flashback sequence, Justin is thinking of the first time he saw Brian and it was at Babylon. The flashback also alludes to it being the night before he was to begin school, so I thought it might be a discrepancy in the story...no biggie, and yes I'm enjoying this story muchly! I think it's a good collaboration. Keeps things from being too sweet. :)
Author's Response: Hi, Kelly - thanks for the followup note. I see what you mean now. I think that was supposed to be before the two actually met face-to-face at Woodys; perhaps Justin was at Babylon initially and noticed Brian then. But I could see why they might look like a discrepancy. One of the hazards of co-writing a story, I guess.;) I'm glad it's not affecting your enjoyment of it, however. It was a challenge to co-write with someone in a different country/time zone, so not sure if I would do it again. But it was an interessting endeavor!
Thank you for letting Mika and I know that you are enjoying the story. We appreciate the feedback. ~Kim and Mika

I thought the first place Justin saw Brian was at Woody's the night before his first day of school at St. James...
Author's Response: Hi, Kelly - it was. This was their first 'official' date, however. Not quite sure what you are asking (?). Would be glad to respond if you want to clarify it for me. I hope in either case you're enjoying the story. (?) Mika, my co-writer and I, appreciate the feedback. ~Kim

Oh my God, the last chapter… I can’t believe it! I wanted to wait till this story was finished before reading it, but I couldn’t do it, and got completely obsessed. Waiting for next chapters was torturous, but so worth it! Thank you for designing this chapter in such a way – I love photos, they make the story even more alive. They’re beautiful.
I *love* Brian’s behavior after the accident. It’s as if he cherishes Justin, loves him insanely, would do absolutely anything for him. I love this kind of relationship so much! I wish I were Justin!:) Or at least had someone like Brian to treat me this way. So tender, so loving, so caring. I just melted from happiness. No wonder Brian is so protective – I would be too if something like that happened to my beloved one.
It’s probably my most favorite chapter! I’m so happy for Kayla and hew perfect boyfriend, for Brian and Justin, of course, for Gus and Tristan. Finally Gus has some action either!:) He’s a brat, but a lovely and devoted brat.
Oh my… I hoped it would be it, but I didn’t expect it! Brian proposed… and so beautifully! This is the best proposal for this story, for these Brian and Justin… I don’t know why, but everything about them just fit organically the atmosphere Brian created, the words he chose. It’s hard to explain:) And Justin’s re action… of course he didn’t believe it at first – I probably wouldn’t, too!:) But I’m so glad Brian didn’t back down, didn’t use this opportunity to just laugh and confirm it was a joke. And even pushed it when Justin didn’t immediately agree! It made me very nervous, I have to admit. He’s definitely crazy about Justin!
Oh, that island is sooo beautiful! You’re just killing me here, I’d give a lot to visit it! Especially to visit Brian and Justin’s ‘stylish’ wedding:) The ending was so beautiful… I nearly cried – I don’ know why, everyone is happy… but it evoked such deep feelings inside me… I swear I saw everything with my own eyes – Brian and Justin, this fantastically beautiful place, the beach… it’s *incredible*.
Thank you so much for your hard work, girls! I’m sure it was difficult to write such a masterpiece, but you can be sure it was worth it – your work is greatly appreciated! It made me want a lot of things, but mostly – to re-read everything from the start. It’s a dream-story. Thank you!!!
Author's Response: Hello, dear friend! Mika and I always cherish your in-depth, wonderful comments! Thank you for going on this journey with us. We are so delighted that you enjoyed it. We thought it was a nice touch to bring them back to the same type of place that Brian had dreamed of before on the island, and we wanted to put everyone in a happy place.;)

I wouldn't mind maybe revisiting all of the boys somewhere down the road, but not sure if Mika and I will be co-writing again, so it might have to be a sole venture. Well done on a fantastic story both of you! It was gripping from the very beginning right through to the very end! And what I liked most, was that the story Gus/Tristan was so exciting that I was sometimes more interested in reading that, which actually surprised me, cause I don't usually go for the teeny stuff, but I really enjoyed it and it was a completely riveting read!
Lisa xx
Author's Response: Hi, Lisa! Mika and I want to thank you for reading this story, and for your comments. I know what you mean about getting caught up in minor characters; that same thing's been happening to me with Fin and Tony in "My Heart's Desire." I'm going to hate to let them go when I finish that one. It's been interesting co-writing this story, but I will be relieved in a way to get back to the others I need to finish now. That was a perfect ending and I really liked the small negotiation Justin had with Brian with the marriage proposal it made it real. Sometimes writers want to wrap it up and because I think Brian and Justin are complex I cannot see them just agreeing like that. Thanks that was great, xx Chris
Author's Response: Thank you, Chris. As always I'm grateful to you for reading and for taking the time to comment. I'm glad you liked the ending, and I agree with you about needing to flesh out a proposal like that. Thanks again, also, for your encouraging words over on LJ. *Hugs* ~Kim

I guess I'm a sentimental, romantic slob, because this ending was perfect. I was hesitant about the proposal because Justin was so young, but Brian's argument won me over. And I was happy that everyone had found their own perfect mates, too.
Thanks for the ride and I'm looking foward to more collaborations in the future.
Author's Response: Hi, Sandra! Mika and I thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. Congratulations on the blue ribbon.
Kim is Mika alright. I know you can't tell me her personal business, but knowing what country she lives in I would like to think she is safe. I did notice a few days ago that her WIP (sorry I can't remember the fics name) has been taken down. Do you know if she will still be writing for MW?
Cheers
Author's Response: Hi, Flossee! Thanks for the good wishes; much appreciated. Mika is doing okay. She's had some personal issues as well as a battery of school tests that tied her up for quite a while; hence the long delay in this final chapter. Very relieved to finally get it all wrapped up, though. And yes, not sure why she deleted the other WIP, but she did. But I CAN say that yes, she has a new story she is interesting in posting (as soon as I can beta it in my 'spare time' - ha!). So she is definitely wanting to keep writing. I will pass on your interest in her work; I'm sure that will make her very happy.
Thank you for taking the time to comment! We both really appreciate that. Tell Lori, BTW, that I said hello if you don't mind. Used to email with her, but I'm not sure which address she is using now, and it's been a long time. Tell her to give her furry baby a belly rub for me.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

Congratulations ladies on a wonderful story. I know it must be challenging to take on such a task - of course, if you agree on everything, then, it would be simple! LOL. It has been an epic tale from start to finish. Lust, drama, angst. I think it had it all, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked Brian's inference to being 'off the menu' for some time. Yes, I think that's how it goes when this adorable blond bulldozes into his life - no matter what 'verse.
Thank you for this entertaining story. It has been greatly enjoyed. And... congratulations to you both on the blue ribbon. It is much deserved!
On another note - perhaps we should do this sometime, Kim. You could try to curb my Dark!Brian tendencies! Haha.
Author's Response: Hi, Janet! Mika and I want to thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend. LOL! Hmmm...a collaboration between the two of us; I wonder what sort of hybrid Brian THAT would result in? Ha! That might be quite interesting! I'll give that some thought.;) First, though, I'm going to try hard to concentrate on the three other WIPs I have going so I can maybe get at least two of them finished before I move onto another one. So hard, though, when there are so many new story ideas rushing through my head!

Hello Kim! Another great chapter. I really enjoyed reading this story and kind of little bit sad that it is about to end. But still can't hide the excitement of the ending chapter specially if it will be after a year, getting curious what will be happening to their individual love life. And I am also hoping for new stories you and Mika might come up with. {{{Hugs}}}
Author's Response:
Hi, Cindy! Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend. Mika and I appreciate that so much. Well, I THINK the next chapter will be the last one. We will have a lot to cover, so it will depend upon how much we can complete in that chapter without it getting too lengthy. But I'm hopeful we can get it wrapped up with one more part. So glad that you are enjoying it. As for new stories, I always have plenty on the back burner, but not sure if Mika will want to collaborate on another one. Author's Response: Hi, Tag - Mika and I thank you for reading and for the comments. I do enjoy coming up with original characters to interact with the main ones from the show; I think the challenge is in making them more 3-dimensional so readers are emotionally invested in them. well - you did it again, my friend
I started this story because you wrote it - but thinking it wasn't really going to be my thing ... and then you caught me (as you do - lol)
love our favorite couple in this - very different - very sweet - and then (who would have thought it) Tristan and Gus became just as much the stars of the show
such a shame that we only have one more chapter - really would have loved to watch that one grow and develop
looking forward to seeing how you tie this one up
Charle
Author's Response: Hi, Charle! Well, I'm glad you took a chance on this one. It IS a different premise. I DID tell Mika at the onset that I would not want an actual, physical relationship between Gus and Justin, or I just couldn't see anything developing afterward with Brian and Justin; too much of an "ew" factor. But the idea of both Kinney 'men' falling for the same guy was too good to resist.;)
We're going to try and wrap it up in the next part; I would really like to. Whether or not we can do that in one more installment remains to be seen, though, because we will have a lot to cover. But we'll see what happens.
Thank you so much for deciding to read and for the comments, Charle! Mika and I are very appreciative of the support. And, BTW, hope that you will either work some more on your Christmas WIP or on a new story (hint, hint). I always love to read your stories.:) *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

I like Tristan and Gus. What is it about the Kinney men, you have to practically hit them over the head to make them realize what's there? Sweet, hot scene w/B & J, too.
- Jackie

Author's Response: Hi, my friend! Yeah, someone told me they were missing my smut (for a different story, actually), so I thought I'd throw a little bit in here.;) Glad that you enjoyed it. I'm glad, too, that Mika and I could finally get them back on track. I think a rather long epilogue where we detail what is transpiring a year down the road is a good point to conclude it. You know me, though; what I THINK may be an epilogue may turn out to be two more instead - ha! We'll have to see, but our goal IS to conclude it in the next part.
Thanks very much for reading and for the comments! Mika & I greatly appreciate it. *Hugs* ~Kim

I suppose Mika and I could have stretched it out just a bit to detail more of Kayla and Tristan's relationship with River and Gus, but it feels right to move it forward in light of what we want to write in the last part (how is that for a tease?);) But we are very glad you have been enjoying the story, and hopefully finishing this up - along with maybe one other story of my own - will allow me to start on a new one.;) Thanks again for the kind words and for the support; we greatly appreciate it. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Hey Kim :) I can't believe there is only one more chapter left...I loved reading this and taking this journey with young group of friends and lovers.
I hope River takes the news about Kayla's true age well and that our two beautiful couples have managed to stay together.
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Thank you for reading and for the comments. Yes, I think probably one more chapter to go. But there will be quite a bit going on in the next part.;) Mika and I are very glad you've enjoyed the journey with us. Thank you for the constant support you've given us - and for all the other writers you review. I'm sure they appreciate it as well. *Hugs* ~Kim

Here I am, super excited because Tristan and Gus are finally together and you have to go and spoil my fun by mentioning an epilogue. I'm not ready for this to end!
Author's Response: Hi, Nikki! Well, I consider that a big compliment. Eventually all stories must conclude (even mine - ha!). Mika and I will do our best to wrap everything up into a nice package in the next chapter. If it's any consolation, I think it will be a long one.;) Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend! We greatly appreciate the support. *Hugs* ~Kim

Okay, firstly I must express how deeply I love this story so far. A father and son in love with the same man. It's both taboo and completely genius! I literally just read all the chapters you have so far in one sitting, and I adored them all. The writing is grade A, and the concept of the story is nicely executed.
I felt the need to mention something about chapter 17 though... When Justin is flatlining, the doctors administer a shock to his heart via the defibrillator. Despite what medical shows often portray on television, this is a big NO in the real world. A heart has to have a shockable rhythm-- Ventricular Fibrillation or Pulseless Ventricular Tachycardia-- before the defibrillator can be used on the patient. The doctors shocking Justin while he was flatlining would have put the nail in his coffin, and Brian could have sued them for medical negligence.
When a heart is in asystole (flatline) then chest compressions and administered drugs (adenosine, epinephrine, atropine) are given to the victim until the heart is in V-fib or V-tach, so that a shock can return the heart to it's normal pattern. Shocking a flatline will not help and is a fatal mistake.
However, this isn't the real world in fandom land, so it's no big deal. I just thought I would spew out some medical facts for you in case you wanted things to be more realistic in this beautifully crafted work of fiction.
Anyways, I can't wait for an update on this fic. I love that Gus is being so well behaved about his father's relationship with Justin and that he is giving Tristan and what they have with each other a go. This story is wonderful, and I will be awaiting the next chapter with bated breath.
Author's Response: Hi, Lily! First of all, welcome to Midnight Whispers! Always great to see a new member on here.;) Secondly, thank you for the thoughtful comments and for reading our story. I appreciate the clarification, and after doing a little research I discovered you are absolutely right, so thank you for pointing that out. I changed the chapter in question so Justin now went into V-Fib; hopefully that is more accurate. Mika, my co-writer and I, are glad you are enjoying this story so much! It was a very interesting concept that Mika broached me with, and I couldn't resist helping her co-write it. We are probably looking at two more chapters yet to go, so we hope you will continue to enjoy the rest of it.
Thank you again for reading, for the comments, and for the information. And thank you, also, for the favorite author as well as the favorite story designation for "Remember Me." I am very honored by that. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Author's Response: Hi, Saskya - Mika and I thank you for reading and for your lovely feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed it. The next chapter will include Gus and Tristan's date as well as some "TLC" from Brian to his little, blond patient.;) Thanks again, my friend, for all your support. WOW!!! 12405 words!!! (Cindy is dancing happily)
Thanks to you sweet Kim and Mica!!! You just made my day! It's been a while since the last update, but it’s worth the wait! Thanks much for the long chapter! I love it super much! I am excited what will happen in Gus and Tristan's Date. I am greatly happy that Gus resolved about Lindsay’s plan of fighting for custody and I am really hoping that's the end of it. And she won’t bother the father and son much more. I hope to picture out what River Shaw will look like, and happy to know that Kayla might find a love life with him. And most importantly, B/J is back fully to each other’s arms and I felt the love much more arise between them. Looking forward to the next chapter. {{{Hugs}}}
Author's Response:
Hi, Cindy! We're so happy that you enjoyed this chapter!:) Yes, I think things are moving along rather smoothly now. I still feel there will be some awkwardness between Justin and Gus initially, but I'm confident that they will work through it. And yes, Lindsay is gone for good - yay! The date between Tristan & Gus will be prominent in the next chapter, and I think Brian has a discussion he needs to make with his best friend about not making comments regarding his sex life with his son. Aaargh.
Mika and I probably see two more chapters now before it's finished. Thank you so much for all the support, Cindy! It is greatly appreciated. *Hugs* ~Mika & Kim

Ohhhh...Things are happy between them again, even with the slight awkwardness of Gus. I hope they can finally, truly, get their act together and no more breakups. I'm ready for my happy ending now. :) Just kidding, I'd be happy if this went on forever. The story is so wonderful and realistic and...ahhh...Just great. <3
Author's Response: Hi, Jessie! What lovely comments; Mika & I thank you very much for reading and for the feedback! I think you will get your wish.;) We see probably two more chapters before this is all wrapped up, including the next one detailing more about Gus and Tristan's first date. Thanks again for reading! We truly appreciate it. *Hugs* Mika and Kim

Ooooh, the return of hotness between Brian and Justin. It looks like Gus and his date are starting off well, too. Yay.
- Jackie

Author's Response: Hi, my friend. Thanks for the comments and for reading. I think Justin's 'tingly' feeling will persist into the next chapter, too (wink, wink), along with Tristan and Gus' first date. Thanks again for the comments! *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Yippy, another chapter. Things are looking up, Justin and Brian are together. Justin's grandmother visited. Gus and Tristan are dating. Hopefully Lindsey saw the light and is out of Gus' life once again. Even if she did decide to take things to court, at 16, Gus' opinion would be asked wouldn't it? Then Kayla has someone too. Yep things are good. So when do we learn more?
Author's Response: Hi, my friend! Ack! We need a little more time before the next post - LOL! No, we're flattered you want the next part already.;) Thanks for reading and for the comments. You will defiinitely hear more in the next part about the 'first date,' and I see some more smut between the 'big boys' coming up, too.;) Probably two more installments before this is all wrapped up. Thanks again for all your support. It is most appreciated. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

great update Kim. I was thrilled to see Gus give Lindsay what for- go Gus and yeah for Brian being the great dad all Gus' life. I love Gus stories and this one doesn't suck. (bg) I know you will update soon, but I hope it is sooner than later.
Author's Response: Hi, Sandy! Mika & I thank you for reading and for the comments. I think the next update will come a little faster this time. We see probably two more chapters to this (unless I get long-winded again on my end - ha!) before this is all wrapped up, including the first date between Gus and Tristan.;) We thought it was only appropriate that Gus be the one to straighten out his misguided mother here. Glad you're enjoying this one. Thanks again. ~Mika and Kim

Hi Kim :)
Kudos to Gus for standing up to Lindsay, she needed a good reality check where her son is concerned. And it's wonderful that he and Tristan are finally working things out. Things seem to be looking up for Kayla as well...but she better be careful starting off not being completely honest could change things in the long run.
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Mika and I thank you as always for the support, my friend. Yeah, it's good to get the meddling mother out of the picture. I think she realizes now that there is no way she can come between Gus and his Dad. As for Kayla, I think she will wind up telling this boy the truth; after all, there could be some legal repercussions there, consent wise. I think she just wanted to go out with the guy so badly that she was willing to fudge just a bit. But we won't let anything else bad happen to Gus' best friend.;) Gus and Tristan's first date will be in the next chapter, as well as some other issues to tie up the loose ends, before we have the epilogue that takes place down the road. Thank you again for all the support, Tamara! It is greatly appreciated. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

This story always manages to make my heart stop every now and then! It’s absolutely amazing and breathtaking, I just *love* how intense things are here! This and the last chapter are something probably all of the readers were waiting for, and you exceeded all expectations! I love angst, I have a really weak spot for it, so I was ecstatic – in some really perverted way - to see how Brian and Gus suffered… especially Brian.
Not knowing what happened to Kayla, I felt dread. I suspected the worst, because really, what can you expect from Owen? Poor girl, and Gus is too paralyzed and shocked to answer her pleas for help. The timing is so bad! Or maybe not, because it gives a perfect opportunity to Tristan and Gus to explore their feelings. Funny how things can be connected sometimes.
I loved the scene in the hospital – it was very touching. Painful, but so emotional and tender… Brian’s love came into surface, and Gus finally saw it and realized everything. But I think he made a wrong decision – he shouldn’t leave Brian like that. It may only worsen things, and deepen Brian’s – and probably Justin’s – guilt, even if what they were doing together wasn’t aimed at hurting Gus. I was touched when Brian once again proved his love for his son s unconditional, though I must admit, I was a little upset when Brian said he loves Gus more. I hoped his feelings for the most important men in his life were equal. By the way, it made me think of Michael for some reason… I wonder how he’ll react when he meets Brian’s partner!:)
The episode when Justin’s heart stopped shocked me, I didn’t expect it! But I’m so glad you didn’t leave us with a cliffhanger!:) I’m sure it was Brian’s presence that gave Justin strength to fight.
Thank you, girls, it was a great chapter, I loved it!
Author's Response: Hi, my friend! Mika and I appreciate you reading and as always your very thoughtful comments . Yes, there was a lot of emotion in this chapter. And I do think Gus was wrong to leave, even though I can understand his reasoning. If it's any consolation, in the next chapter he and his father will reach an understanding and Gus will have a chance to apologize for what he did after he realizes how futile his pursuit of Justin was. He and Tristan will also be drawing more closer.;)
Mika and I probably see about two more chapters of this to go before it's all said and done. She hopes to start writing the next chapter sometime this week. Thank you again for all the time and thought you put into your comments! We both greatly appreciate that, and hope you continue to enjoy this story. *Hugs* ~Kim

Oh good, Gus isn't being immature anymore! Thank goodness. And I'm glad Brian and Justin could really open up to each other and...Ahhh...I'm just full of good feelings thanks to this. :) I feel horrible about what happened to Kayla, but at least Owen got what was coming to him. Can't wait to see what happens next! <3
Author's Response: Hi, Jessie - Yeah, Gus finally figured out how childish he was being, and how much in love his father and Justin are. I think he always knew deep down that he never had a chance with Justin, and Justin had always been upfront with him. I imagine there will still be some awkwardness between them, and there is still the issue of both Owen and the custody battle with Lindsay. We'll probably have two more chapters of this to go before it's all said and done. Thanks again for the feedback! My co-writer and I are very grateful for your thoughtfulness. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Author's Response: Hi, Cindy! Thanks for reading and for your comments, my friend; Mika and I appreciate that so much. Yes, I think things are finally starting to turn around for all the boys.;) There is still the issue of Lindsay to deal with, though, and what will probably be some awkwardness left between Justin and Gus. You can't let us hang there with that. You need to finish this story. I want to know how they are all going to deal with Lindsey. What's going to happen to Owen? Otherwise, great story.
Author's Response: Mika and I thank you for reading. I'm not sure if you think we've completed it or not from your comments; but I'm happy to say we are NOT done with it. We will definitely finish it, just like I have done with all my stories. I wouldn't agree to co-write a story if I did not know it would be completed.;)
We probably have two more chapters to go to wrap everything up. Sorry it takes us a little while to update; between RL and the two of us being in two different parts of the world, it can be difficult logistically to do sometimes, but we updated twice within the past few weeks, so that's actually faster than normal (at least from my own, typical writing schedule, anyway!). Author's Response: Hi, my friend! Mika and I thank you for reading and for the comments.;) Yes, things are slowly moving in the right direction at last. We'll still have to contend with Lindsay in the next chapter, as well as make sure that Owen is properly taken care of, before everything is said and done. Author's Response: Hi, Tag! I think everyone kind of suspected something bad was going to happen to Kayla. Glad that Mika didn't go the rape route, though; that would have taken quite a bit to cover in this story, and I think in a way it would have detracted from the main plot. This was a very emotional and wonderful chapter. Amazing job, Ladies! :) It does have that wrap-up feel, but I guess that's always a double-edged sword. It's always hard to say goodbye to a great story, but also, it's fabulous to see life finally working out for them too. This definitely had a few awwwww moments. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for writing - both of you! *Hugss*
Author's Response: Thank you for the comments and for reading, Janet. I'm sure you know that feeling; at some point it has to be wrapped up and concluded, so we have about two more chapters to go here. Of course, then I'll be tempted to start a new one! (I'm sure you never do that....right? Ha!). Wonderful chapter-glad to see things working out in everyone's favor-sorry for Kayla's run in with Owen. He will get his ears boxed.Glad Brian and Jus and Tristan problems somewhat solved. You are the best. On another note I got all of TLC read, although I was off today I went in to finish the last four chapters. It was quite a hit between the laughs and tears it wnt over well. The guys want a more guy story so I am debating that one. I have a couple ideas. Feedback welcome. lol
Author's Response: Hi, dear friend! Thanks for the kind words and for reading. I was wondering about how "TLC" went. Not sure which one to suggest for the guys. Perhaps "Paper Hearts Killer?' That might suffice. I guess I'm just too romantic most of the time to qualify as a 'guy-writer.' But that one would probably be the closest. Or maybe "Roughing It," where they go camping. Depends upon whether they want drama or humor, I suppose.;) I must say that is real dedication for you to go in on your day off to finish the story. You are amazing!:)

Hey Kim :) I can breathe a sigh of relief....Justin's awake and on his way to recovering, Tristan and Gus are FINALLY taking steps in possibly starting a relationship, and Owen has been arrested for assaulting Kayla.
The one thing that kind of grated on my nerves was Mrs. Callahan. At first she seemed to be more concerned about Kayla's social status than her injuries. It's a good thing that Gus was there to help put things in prospective.
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara, my friend. Thank you as always for reading and for the comments. You got it right; Kayla's mother was supposed to grate on your nerves. It certainly pinpoints the big differences between Brian and Gus's relationship versus the one she has with her daughter, doesn't it?
Speaking of mothers, there is still Lindsday to deal with, and what will be done with Owen coming up. Mika and I hope you will continue to enjoy the story; we think we'll have two more chapters before it's wrapped up. Thanks again - oh, and congrats, BTW, on your blue ribbon for "Truth and Consequences!" Much deserved. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Hey girl! Just thought I would drop in and say Hi. Bored-off-housework done, sooo thought I would drop you you a hey! We are all good. Lee will be comingback to work next week. He bought a used hummer that he calls 'THE HULK". funny~~~. I think he will feel safer, but I don't know where he will park it. BB said 'any where he wants to" I have been entertaining the thought of having a child. Don't know how yet, but I am contemplating. I believe Nonie is going to move home to Europe-she is hme sick and only working part time which she can do there. i will miss her but I understand howshe feels. Time marches on sometimes not swo much fun. Next week TLC starts, can't wait. Well kiddo I guess I will sign off. Will be waiting for your next update. lol
Author's Response: Hi, dear friend - thank you for the updates! So glad to hear that Lee's coming back to work! Loved Brian's response to where he can park - ha! I think he's right. The wife of the attorney I used to work for had a Hummer and they were quite big. I don't think he'll have to worry about someone injuring him in THAT thing! I think "The Hulk" is a fitting name for his new vehicle.;) Quite a departure from the Vixen, though.
I think, too, that you would make a great mom for a child. Only you can decide if that is what is best for you though. But if you do, I think he/she will be a very lucky child. Tell Nonie I wish her the very best in whatever she decides. I know how strong a pull it can be to want to go home.
Take care and keep in touch! Hope everyone in the reading group enjoys"TLC" and you make lots of money - ha! I'm working on the next part of "Tame the Wild Stallion" as promised before I go onto Lee's favorite. Mika's also working on the next part of "Father, Son, and the Blond," so I'm hoping to have some more updates soon. Would love a Halloween one-shot, but so far I haven't gotten inspired yet. I didn’t even know how or where to begin to review this chapter. Everyone was suffering through angst and pain with no solution in site. Gus was still being immature and petulant to the end. It was understandable under the circumstances to certain extent. His heart was broken and he was disillusioned about his father. Justin fighting for his life almost seemed a moot point. Poor Brian was continually pulled between the love for his son and then for his boyfriend. He chose the only way he could have in that situation. If Gus would have asked, Brian would have left Justin in the hospital at that moment if not on the street bleeding out. Gus was still punishing him by moving out.
I’m almost afraid to find out what’s going on with Kayla and Tristan. How much angst can one story hold?
Great update and I can’t wait for more!
Author's Response: Hi, Sandra! Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend. I think I DID see your comments somewhere, but it could have been for "Stallion" possibly (?). Yes, Gus isn't being all that reasonable, but as a teenager whose heart was just broken by the boy he was infatuated with, I suppose I can understand it. I think he realizes now that he would have never had a chance with Justin, though, and hopefully he will soon see Tristan in a new light.
Thanks again for the feedback! Mika and I really appreciate that. We'll get another update up soon. *Hugs* ~Kim

Author's Response: Hello, my friend! Thank you for reading this chapter and for the comments! We are so delighted that you are enjoying this story. Why why why??? ...both your updated stories were making me super sad. Why Justin always being hurt in both. You just made me cry today sweetie not only on Justin's situation but when Brian talked to him while he was in bed; that was so devastating. My heart really aches for Brian too. And I am disappointed with Gus; this is the time that his father needs him by his side. But what he is about to do? I don't think he is in love with Justin; he will never be having this kind of true feelings for him as what his Father does. He should know that by now. He is blinded with jealousy. And that created wrong decisions he will just make. Anyways, thanks for the update sweetie. I am grateful to have a friend like you who can make my days away from boring reality :) :) :) {{{Hugs}}}
Author's Response: Hi, Cindy! I know - a lot of angst in both stories. And a lot of sadness, particularly in this one. Yes, Brian is really torn up in this story between his love for his son and his love for Justin. Add to that an emotional 16-year-old son who is hormone-driven and it really makes for a mess! It's not an excuse for Gus' behavior, but I do think it's an explanation for it. I think he is slowly beginning to realize how deep the feelings between his father and Justin run, however - and perhaps he will soon realize how great a guy Tristan is and give him a chance.
Sorry to make you cry! Hope you will bear with us - and bear with me in "Stallion" - until we can make things right again. Thanks as always for reading and for the support, Cindy! It WILL get better on both accounts. You know we won't leave the boys unhappy - either father OR son. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Author's Response: Thank you, Tash! Mika and are happy that you are enjoying this story. There are certainly a lot of emotions running through this, aren't there? Reading this chapter at work was not a good idea. But I was so happy to see an update. I don't want Gus to leave his home :(
Great, wonderful chapter. Thank you so much
Author's Response: Hi, my friend! Well, Mika and I are flattered that you would be so interested in the story that you would sneak a peek at work.;)
I guess you have to look at it from the perspective of this being a hornone-driven, 16-year-old boy with all the emotions that go with that. I have a feeling, though, that another young man may be about to provide some much-needed comfort here.;) And I can't wait to work on the bedside scene when a certain blond finally wakes up to find his love sitting by his bed (at least, I hope that's what Mika has in mind for me to work with).;)
Thanks very much for reading and for the comments! We both appreciate that so much. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

I knew this would happen somewhere. It's always a hospital that getsa them back together-now to have him pull through. It seems his head is always at the heart of his troubles. He will be ok and Brian now needs to sort out his life and get Gus back in the fold. lol
Author's Response: Hi, lindc! Thanks for the comments. I always get a little nervous dealing with medical conditions and wanting to make sure that the lingo and situation are at least plausible.;) Yeah, poor Justin - between this and "Stallion," he's having a hard way to go, isn't he - ha!;)
And yes, there are still a number of issues here that need to be resolved, too. I think we'll slowly start working through those in the next part. Thanks again for all your support. Tell everyone that I said hello and am thinking about them. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

Oh, Jeezzzz... My heart is racing. This was one powerful chapter! Life, death, love, heartbreak... Lord...
My faith in Gus is somewhat redeemed now. I know he's a young boy, with a young boy's reasoning and perception and experience, but I still have a hard time with his initial reaction to Brian. Right now, dealing with all of that, AND Justin in such severe condition, AND Gus's pronouncement that he's leaving, I wonder how the man can hold it together. But, putting Gus in proximity with Tristan may be a very good thing.
Author's Response: Hi, Roni! Thank you so much for reading and for the comments. It's always great to receive them from such a wonderful writer as yourself.;) Yes, I think Gus and Tristan are finally going to start deepening their relationship going forward. And, of course, there's still the issue of Lindsay. I don't think this will help Brian at the moment, and I could see her using this to her advantage somehow. Brian has certainly got a lot of his plate at the moment, doesn't he? Sigh...teenage boys!
Thanks again, Roni, for the support. Mika and I greatly appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim

Author's Response: Hi, my friend! You're always so good about commenting. Thank you for that. Your support means a lot to us. Yes, there's a great deal going on here, both directly and behind the scenes. The parts with Kayla and Tristan will be fleshed out coming up. It's so nice to see Brian admit his love, even if it's under these dire circumstances. Gus finally realized how much his father cared for Justin. It's best for all. Now we just have to have Justin wake up....
- Jackie

Author's Response: Hi, my friend - yes, what an impetus to push Brian to admit how he feels. I guess that is human nature, though. Wow....just wow... while I understand how Gus must be feeling, I think he would be making a big mistake by leaving his father. I'm going to try to say this without sounding insensitive...Gus is a healthy young man with the opportunity for love himself if he could only open his eyes to it. Permanent distance is not the answer.
Hmmmm...I have a feeling that Ms Kayla may have a great deal of explaining to do. I mean why was she bruised and crying? Is the reason why Tristan is so upset because he knows what happened? So many questions to be answered here.
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara, my friend! Mika and I for the comments and for reading. I understand your annoyance with Gus. At least he's finally startng to realize how deeply his father feels for Justin. And I do think Gus is about to come to a lot of realizations regarding Tristan shortly. And yes, there are some things going on in the background with Kayla and her brother that you very perceptively picked up on.
I'm hopful that my co-writer can work on her part of the update soon. Thank you again for all the support! *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

You always update in the middle of the night my time, but as I don't have lectures tomorrow, sleep is less important than reading this.
So so very glad Gus man-ed up and realised what a dick he'd been. And Brian obviously loves Justin, how was that even in question?
Also, knowing there's no way you'd kill of Justin (right?) made reading this chapter, and the following chapters, easier.
I really want Tristan to be rushing off to save Kayla and annoyed at Gus for not being there for her, and then have a massive argument with Gus when he shows up at the house, before making up in the best possible way. Or going to beat up Owen for being such a dick to his sister. I could go on and on, but it's 2am, so I should really go to bed now.
Author's Response: Hi, Nikki! I know; why can't we all be in the same time zone? Ha! I'm glad you stayed up late enough to read this, though; hopefully it was worth the insomnia.;) There's going to be a lot going on in the next chapter, but I do think that Gus and Tristan are finally about to bond here over Kayla and Justin's accident;) Thanks for the feedback, my friend. *Hugs* Mika and Kim

This chapter is so fantastic. Gus being so sweet, but knowing how to use the weapons of seduction Kinney. Unfortunately for Gus, Justin is Brian. Incidentally, I love this version of you Brian. He does not cease to be Brian, but it is much less stressful than our old acquaintance. Brian jealous and possessive. The breathtaking encounter between the two boys. Michael being Michael. This is very good! Like a lot of your work. Congratulations for the great story! Hugs! Fatima.

OH MY GOD!! This is so crazy. I can't believe that Gus made Brian choose. And then Justin leaves and gets into an accident. I felt like it was too short, but then again I will never have enough. Please update soon.
Author's Response: Hi, Tay! Thank you for reading and for your comments; Mika and I really appreciate that. Well, obviously Gus was being unreasonable, but he was blindly lashing out at this point after being devastated to find out that he will never have Justin to himself, so I suppose his demand wasn't too unexpected. I think he will soon realize, though, how deeply the feelings run between his father and Justin and regret what he has done.
This would have normally been updated by now, but my co-writer is having some fairly major RL issues that have prevented that; but I am hopeful that we will be able to update this soon. Thank you for the support and for bearing with us until then! *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

I was looking forward to this chapter since the very beginning of the story! What completely shocks me is the fact that you always continue to surprise me – and obviously not only me, but all the readers. I imagined thousands of possible scenarios, but *this*? I’ve never thought of anything even remotely like that!
I feel so bad for Tristan! I can understand him, Gus is treating him not in the best way. Perhaps before criticizing his father for doing the same thing with Justin, he should think about himself. He’s playing with Tristan – I understand, of course, that he isn’t doing it deliberately, he’s just confused, but anyway. Good thing Tristan has Kayla to support him! But that stupid Owen… TOO many things are happening at once, my heart will definitely stop one moment! :)
Oh… I can’t really describe what I was feeling while reading this chapter. The scene in the loft is so emotional, so heartbreaking, so terrible! Poor Brian, poor Gus… And poor Justin. I think I’m sorry for him most.
Gus was behaving completely irrationally, blaming Brian, shouting all those hurtful things… but it was expected, it couldn’t be any other way. After shocking discovery like this, who would stay rational?? Especially a teenager boy… but when he asked Brian to choose, I admit, I felt very-very angry. That’s too much, too selfish! I know people have both good and bad sides, but still I felt furious. That is why I sympathize Justin the most – it is *he* who is going to be left out, left completely alone. Brian and Gus could grieve, but together, they might be able to go on… though I doubt their relationship would stay the same. Brian hardly could feel about Gus the same way he always did after being forced to leave the one person he was ever in love with. Funny thing – I understand completely that he chose Gus, I’d have been surprised if it hadn’t happened, but I still feel insanely angry with him. Life can be *so* complicated! Rare stories do that to you, make you feel this many emotions at once. I wonder if Justin will feel the same way as I do. Because he certainly can understand why Brian chose his son, but will he wholeheartedly accept it? I don’t know. I’m not sure I would.
The ending left me speechless. Now *that* was what I didn’t expect at all! The accident?! I give up, I can’t even start to imagine what can happen next! Please, update soon – I’ve become completely addicted and crazed!
Thank you, girls, it was an *incredible* chapter! I can’t wait for more!
Author's Response: Hi, Sweetie! Yes, this one is a definite roller coaster of emotions. There is so much going on here, and so many feelings. Love, jealousy, shock, hurt. And yes, Gus was definitely out of line, but as a teenage boy who had just discovered he would never have Justin, the boy he had been dreaming about for so long, it had to be a tremendous shock to him. So he lashed out at his father unreasonably. He had to know that Brian would pick him and not Justin; that was the ultimate way for him to hurt Justin in response to what he sees as a betrayal.
I do think the accident will demonstrate to Gus just how much his father loves Justin, and will definitely change the dynamics here for all concerned. As always, Mika and I thank you for the amazing feedback! My co-writer is going through some rather major RL issues at the moment, but this story WILL be updated just as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the support. *Hugs* ~Mika and Kim

So much hurt and misunderstanding here. I'm trying to hang on until the kid goes to bed and he's using every excuse in the book. AAARGH!
Anywho, I read this at work on a break and had a difficult time putting it down. I have been waiting for this moment and you did not disappoint. The reactions were very plausible with Gus being the wounded party that strikes out blindly not caring about how much damage he inflicts. Justin and Brian were shocked and confused as expected. Justin accident on the bike was just an accumulation of the enviable.
LOVE this story!
Author's Response: LOL! I thought you were in bed now! Ah, the joys of motherhood.;) Yes, this story seems to be intriguing a lot of people; I have to hand it to Mica for the idea. It sounded very engrossing when she first approached me with it, and I have really enjoyed co-writing it. OMG! these ends are killing me! Although, I must admit that already in the course of this chapter I thought that nothing like some tragic event, things can not get it right. : ( I hope that Justin will be fine and everything will be rectified. Sorry Gus, yes, but even so, his reaction to your father gone, it was cruel, though understandable. Thank you for the chapter. :) (sorry for my English.)
Author's Response: Hello, Saskya! Thank you for reading and for the comments. And do not worry; your English is fine, my friend.;) Yes, there is a lot of hurt - both physical AND emotional - right now. But I do think that Justin's accident will begin to show Gus just how much his father cares about - and even loves - the young man he now knows will never be his. And perhaps at last Tristan will finally have a chance with him. Of course, first Mica and I have to get rid of that pesky Owen, who is a real troublemaker.

Author's Response: Oh, my - TWO 'acks?' Now that sounds very serious - LOL! I seem to recall a few humdinger cliffhangers you might have written from time to time, too, young lady. I will work with Mica to get this updated just as soon as possible. Thanks for the comments and for reading, my friend. *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

I'll admit, I'm usually a lurker, but this cliffhanger actually got me to review to beggg you to update soon- I love this story and actually stopped studying early to read the update (that's major- I'm a serious type-a with a serious study schedule) so please hurry!
Author's Response: Hi, Knack! Glad you de-lurked to tell Mica and I how much you are enjoying this story! That makes us very happy to hear that, and we're very flattered (but feel a little guilty) that we were able to pull you away from your studying.;)
We'll do our best to update quickly! We know we left this in a horrible spot.;) Poor Justin, Gus AND Brian! Thank you again for reading and for the comment. Hope to hear from you again. *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

Sorry, I got carried away on my review. I forgot to update you on LEE. The swelling has receded and his thought process is back to normal-thank God. This kid is amazing with all the crap he has gone through to be very upbeat and positive. He is happy his story is up soon. I brought his laptop from home so he can read when he can and wants to, He likes this story a lot as i started from the beginning. I am going back to work tomorrow as he is"out of the woods" now. lol
Author's Response: Hi, lindc! I'm glad to hear about Lee doing better. He really is one resilient man. I will have to make the next chapter of his favorite story extra special just for him.:) You are just so kind, lindc, to take care of him; I'm sure he really appreciates that.
Lee, if you read this I'm thinking about you and hoping for a very speedy recovery! Sending my love your way, and will have your story updated soon. Take good care of yourself! And lindc, thank you for all the support you and your friends give me. *Hug* ~Kim

I don't understand why Gus what Brian to choose, it's because he didn't get Justin so he didn't what Brian too?I thought he was a nice kid.I am dying to know what will happen when Justin wake up
Author's Response:
Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. It does seem unreasonable, but Gus is very upset and had just had his hopes dashed. He obviously is not thinking clearly here, and he and his father will have to talk about that. I hope you will bear with us while we work through this. Thanks again for the feedback. *hugs* ~Mica and Kim

Oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Author's Response: Hi, Sweetie! Yeah, major angst and cliffy overload here. Mica is very evil.;) This will actually be a good thing in the long run, though; father and son obviously still have lots of issues to address, in addition to everything going on with Kayla, Owen, and Tristan. Will work hard to get this updated quickly! Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment; it is greatly appreciated.;) *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

Gus is a little shit hope justin okay
Author's Response: Hi, Tash - yeah, that describes him well. But I think as a teenager who had just had his hopes dashed, I can understand it. I think father and son will need a LONG talk here! We will work hard to get this updated quickly. Thank you so much for reading and for the comments! *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

I love your story!!!!! But I want to spank them all!!!
I really loved Gus in that story, I know he was in shock but what he did was so cruel and unnecessary. It's not as if he was in a relationship with Justin with promise rings etc.
He didn't even had to make his father choose. Brian would have probably done it on his own because he loves his son so much. Brian should have a deep conversation with his son. How Gus could think for one second that his father could hurt him deliberately?
And Justin running on his bike without his helmet!!!! What the f***?
Gus is going to feel so guilty.
Please update soon!!!
Author's Response: Hi, Sorcha! Yeah, I wouldn't mind spanking them all, too (and not in a 'good' way - LOL!). I think father and son will need a LONG talk before this is over, and yes, you are right. I think Brian would hae chosen him anyway, despite his sorrow over having to do that. This will turn out to be a good thing, though.
Very perceptive comments! Will tell Mica she needs to work on this quickly so we can get it updated again. Thank you for reading and for the comments, my friend. *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

Author's Response: Hi, Chris! Thanks for commenting on this latest chapter and for reading. Nailbiting duly noted; will tell Mica I need her part of this pronto! Thanks for all the support, my friend. *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

Ahhhhhhh... Why do you do this to us??? This chapter was so good and painful and angsty and brilliant all at the same time. I really hate Gus at the moment though for making Brian choose between them. I understand why he did it and I can't say that in the spur of a moment like that I wouldn't make the same decision but I think he was being very selfish. I don't blame him, I just don't like him. And poor Brian and Justin can just never catch a break can they. I mean they literally only just found each other again. I hope everything works out in the end. I'm so excited for your next chapter :D

No! Gus does not get to act like the injured party. Justin met Brian first and made it perfectly clear to Gus many a time that all he was interested in was friendship, so Gus has no right at all to feel betrayed or issue that ultimatum. Brian and Justin did nothing wrong. Gus acting like a spoiled teenager resulted in Justin getting hurt. I want to punch him for being a dick.
And Owen? That's too much drama to handle at once.
Author's Response: Hi, Nikki! I know - drama overload here! Mica is evil.;) And totally agree with you about Gus, but you have to remember that he had just gotten hopeful that things might be taking a positive turn with him and Justin, and now this. On top of that Brian will now be wondering about 'that kiss.' I think somewhere along the line that will have to be explained. This will actually turn out to be a good thing, though.
Will tell Mica to hurry up with her part of the story's next chapter! Thank you for the comments, my friend, as always; we greatly appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim and Mica

This is just so depressing. Why it should be this way? And what a immaturely selfishly act Gus is showing. He knows well of course that his father will ever choose him above all. But still ahhhhhhhhhhh angst overload in here sweetie. Kindly tell Mica to update the soonest. This can't be happening; my days will be crankier without knowing what will happen next. Please!!!!
{{{Hugs}}}
Author's Response: Hi, Cindy! I know - what a roller coaster! And yes, Gus is being a jerk here. But I think it's understandable in light of what he had been hoping as well as what he had just witnessed. After all, he is a teenager and probably prone to acting before he thinks. I do think father and son will need to have a LONG talk about this after they make sure that Justin is going to be okay.
Thank you very much for reading and for the comments, Cindy! We both really appreciate that. And on a more personal note, thank you, also, for your support regarding the challenge. That meant a lot to me. *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim

I love all your stories and am enjoying this one immensely. I never thought that Gus would act like a spoiled brat, but on the other hand I can understand all about the raging teenage hormones and confusing emotions of first crush and first lust. But I never thought that he can be so cruel towards the person he loves the most - his dad.
Authors you are evil, real evil − to end the update on such a cliff!!! I'm literally itching to read more. So PLEASE update soon so that I won't scratch myself raw ;)
Yours faithful reader, Jelena
Author's Response: Hi, Jelena! Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words. I think you showed considerable restraint, considering how evil we were here with the cliffy. ;) And yes, Gus was being overwrought and unreasonable, but he was so intent on winning Justin over himself - and had just gotten to the point where he had allowed himself to hope - and then this happened. So as a teenager, I think we can understand the reason why he acted that way.
I will tell Mica to work diligently on her part of this story so we can get this updated very soon! Thank you again for reading and taking the time to comment! It is greatly appreciated. *Hugs* ~Mica and Kim
