was good, but Justin deserved the pain.

That was terific! Justin email to Brian was so emotional. I am glad they are back together in a way.

Author's Response:

Definitely back together!  But just to put the ambiguity to rest, I wrote "Strength" as a sequel :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it.  Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

I hope for a sequel

thank you for sharing

Author's Response:

You are very welcome!  And, yes, there is a sequel.  It's called "Strength."  I just posted the first chapter :)

This is not your story. It was posted by Frayach, who is no longer a member on this site, several months ago. It is exactly the same. I cannot believe you thought you could get away with this.

Thank you for the concern. We take plagiarism VERY seriously on this site, and it can be grounds for immediate banishment. However, read the writer's bio page; she writes under both pseudonyms, and as long as they both are not used on this site at the same time (which is not permitted under our submission rules), it is not a problem. We  have verified this is the same person.  ~Kim, Admin

Author's Response:

I'll echo Kim and thank you for your concern.  I really appreciate it :)  Plagiarism is the constant bane of fanfic writers, but thankful there's been none in this case.  I am both Frayach and Maggie.  I write under Maggie here because there isn't a full overlap between Fray's stories on AO3 and Maggie's stories here on MW.  Thank you for being a watchdog.  Plagiarism wouldn't be as much of a problem if everyone wayched out for each other like you did for me.  Thank you!

Sequel please please please! What a great story, I loved the way you allowed for the changing times which every city goes through but seldom gets discussed and here it really affected people, just like in real life

Author's Response:

I just posted the last chapter of the sequel - I figured this story needed one :)  I hope you like it.

I love reading about city revitalization efforts.  Being an urban-dweller, I like to think that American cities can someday be as vital and thriving as Europe's.

Okay, I can't wait for the next story to see where it goes.

Author's Response:

LOL!  As you know, I wrote the next story and just posted the last chapter.  I hope you enjoy it :)

I hope they be alright and  have sex in the end and get married

Author's Response:

Slight spoiler - they do both in the sequel "Strength" . . .

Oh no.  The loss of Cynthia could prove disasterous.  How is Mikey taking all this?

Author's Response:

Yeah, losing Cynthia was a blow for Brian :(

I'm liking this, especially since I know it will have a happy ending.  I was going to read it regardless, because the writting is well done.  Do keep this up!

Author's Response:

I hope you enjoyed it :)

This does not look to have a happy ending.  In spite of being totally realistic.

Author's Response:

Actually, it DOES have a happy ending!  Yes, it's on the ambiguous side, but I fully intended it to be a happy, positive ending.  They stay together.  Of, course it isn't easy, but by the end of the story, they've both reached a place where they can really commit to each other.  That was my goal for writing this story - to bring them together in a way that seemed realistic to me.
