Wow, the title of the chapter speaks for itself! It’s fantastic how you showed Brian’s feelings, his doubts and fears through his dream. It was so beautiful at first, I could sense his complete happiness, his contentment, but then it all started to change slowly, turning into a nightmare. Maybe not the worst one, but Brian is clearly not ready for some serious steps in his relationship with Justin, it’s too soon. And still, the dream was very meaningful – if Brian Kinney sees himself participating in wedding, even unreal one, it already says a lot. Justin definitely affects him deeply. And – did Brian really feel a mixture of relief and disappointment when he realized it was only a dream?! It’s so amazing and surprising that I’m not even sure I got it right!:) Brian is obviously *so* in love!

It’s great that even being so relaxed, having such a strong need to stay with Justin, Brian still thinks about his son – it proves one more time what a wonderful father he is. I also loved how he realized that he doesn’t want other men now when he has Justin. Of course, being rather possessive, he can’t expect Justin to stay faithful to him while he continues to trick, and though that thought disturbed him, it didn’t come as a big shock like I thought it would be. Brian is already accepting what influence Justin has on him. In fact, everything seems so perfect that I’m afraid it won’t last long. In QAF Brian would ruin it because of his fear, here I think it may happen because of his devotion to Gus. I’m simultaneously dreading and looking forward to the moment when the truth will come out. Gus will definitely be very hurt, but I hope Brian won’t think it’s Justin’s fault. After all, the blond warned Gus lots of times that they are only friends. It would be so completely irrational to blame him, though of course no one can think rationally in the moment like that. Oh, everything is so complicated that I have no idea how to figure it all out!  

It was so touching – when Brian was watching Gus sleeping, remembering episodes from the childhood. I love those tender, emotional moments, the feeling of love is just so palpable. I had a lump in my throat, but minute later I was laughing non-stop because of Kayla’s reaction to Owen’s persistence. What a great contrast – it was so hilarious!:) Poor girl, I don’t envy her.

You just killed me with the ending. The basketball game tomorrow?! Now there is definitely going to be an explosion! Gus, Brian, Justin in the same place at the same time – it’d be a miracle if their paths didn’t cross! And Gus may want to introduce Justin to his dad… wow, I can clearly feel angst coming. Can’t imagine what the next chapter will bring – and can’t wait for it! Thank you so much for this beautiful, many-sided update!

Hi, Katrin!  Thank you for reading and for your comments; they are very perceptive!  I think you have covered so well some of the emotions that both Michal and I hoped to portray in this chapter:  Brian's growing attraction/love for Justin, his deep love for his son, and his quandry between spending time with Justin versus spending time with his son.  And you are correct about his feelings toward Justin - they are both exciting as well as a little worrisome, because he is starting to feel things he has never felt before with any other man and I think it scares him somewhat.  And I, too, really like Kayla's character as a friend and confidante of Gus's; reminds me a lot of Daphne and Justin on the show.  And yes, there will definitely be some angst/conflict coming up in this story that will really change things up.

To answer your other question, I'm one of the few 'cave people' who actually don't have a FB account; I do have a Twitter account (under the same user name as here), as well as an LJ account.  That is where I normally post info and photos about my visits to see Randy in his plays, for example, and I also have a lot of photos from the con in Cologne posted there.  Hope that information helps.;)

Found this story saw that your name was attached so it was read.  This is quite a concept your friend came up with.  I guess the bacon will hit the hot pan pretty soon-yes.  It will be interesting to see who will be the most upset in this triangle.  It's a toss up I think.  Guess we will see, soon.  I like the friction building.

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for checking this one out and for the comments; yes, it is unusual, and Michal had me intrigued when I first saw the storyline and she asked me to help her with co-writing it; I'm glad to be a part of it and I'm thankful she came up with this unique story idea.:)

I like the notion of Brian being faced with the dilemma of what to do between his love for his son and his budding romance with Justin.  Will he choose to give up one for the other?  And how will it impact Gus?  I DID think it was important not to cross too much of a line here with an actual sexual relationship between Justin and Gus, even though in this timeline and their ages, it wouldn't be implausible.  But I didn't see any way that once that barrier was passed that things could ever work out for Brian and Justin.

I hope you will continue to read along with it and give it a shot; I realize it may not be for everyone.  In the meantime, I'm edging ever closer to my update on "The Parent Trap."  Up to about 12,300 words now, so it should be updated any time now.:)

To be honest I'm kind of startled by this chapter..The beginning was very nice but the end (I mean Brian and Justin's encounter) a little disappointing. Because Brian in this chapter reminds me of Brian-from-fics-by-Confused_Bliss, you know, somewhat dark, over-possesive, thinking that Justin is his property just because he wants him. This is SO OUT OF CHARACTER!!

I know that in most Alternative Universe fics Brian is more or less OOC, I can specify only few ones where the author held on to the original character to the utmost. And, for instance, "Paper heart killer" is one of them! So Kim, I believe you with your co-author will manage to save Brian as he is!

P.S. No offence meant to Confused_Bliss, her Brian is quite charming in his extravagance :)

Hi, Mary - thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. I'm sorry that you don't like Brian's more dominant portrayal in this chapter.  But as you pointed out, this one is definitely an AU and as such, their characters may not act the way you would expect.   He is jealous over the idea that Justin is seeing another man, and this is the way that Michal, my co-writer, and I chose to depict that emotion.  You will notice that Justin, who is also a more aggressive character in this story, certainly does not seem to mind, and in the end, Brian is holding Justin while caressing his shoulder.  I hardly think that makes him a dark sort of Brian.  I think how he reacted just makes him human.  You will remember in Ep 219, when Michael told him about Justin seeing someone else, that he reacted much the same way, so I don't see it as being all that OOC for him. 

Also, I'm not sure why Confused_Bliss' Brian is described as 'charming' when he is OOC and dark, but you would have concerns with this one (and just for the record, that author is one of my favorites as well as a personal friend, so I definitely am not taking issue with her writing at all).  I respect your opinion, however, and Michal and I do thank you for reading.  I hope you will continue to give this one a try.  Brian will continue to display different facets of his personality throughout this story, and while I can't talk for Michal, who is the one who thought up this story idea and is the one spearheading it, I do not think this darker type of Brian will probably manifest itself in this way again, at least not toward Justin or his son.

I'm glad you asked about the writing of this story.  Michal, my co-writer, asked me to write the review responses for both of us, BTW, so that's why you see me responding to them.   But she initially thought up this unique idea and asked if I would help her co-write it.  She writes her part and sends it to me.  I write the sex scenes and add more details to the part that she writes and then I send it back to her for a final approval/coordination.  It IS a bit more difficult than writing one alone as you can imagine, but it's interesting, also, to see what each of us contributes toward the plot line.  We kind of feed off each other's ideas.  Hope that helps to explain it.:)  And I hope you continue to enjoy the story!  Thanks again for taking the time to leave us your thoughts.  We should be able to get updated again very soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim AND Michal:)

Hey busy lady!  I don't know where you find the time to teach, keep up your house, help your family and write.  I have all I can do to work eat and sleep.  I read somewhere you were ailing with a cold.  I hope you are feeling better.  This story is so good.  I'm sure Michal is thankful to have you with her on this endeavor.  I am not home so am reading alone.  It's rather different reading alone-guess I miss my peeps. Brian and I had to go to three other hospitals to do some teaching updates.  I thought it would only be a few days-but has been prolonged due to sickness with some of the people in one hospital.  We can't go home and then come back-due to the expense.  So we have to have a couple down days and wait.  Life can sometimes be a pain in the butt.  BB is busy geting his paperwork done.  I can't wait to see what happens when Brian finds out about Gus and Justin.  Maybe Tristan could wind up being a big help oif he is interested in Gus and Gus comes to be interested in him. Should be interesting she how this all pans out.  T alked to Lee tonight.  He is good now.  He had a bout with flu like symptoms.  He might have had a slight caseI guess.  We all had our shots, but sometimes you can get a slight case.  Well I guess I have rambled on enough.  lol

I'm sure it's a little disorientating to do that, but I'm sure they really appreciate your help and your dedication.  And yes, after reading to such a rather large group, I imagine it IS a little weird reading alone - LOL! 

As far as the story goes, you're right; it's going to get pretty complicated soon; even in the next chapter, Justin's going to be the center of attention, whether he wants to be or not.;)  After all, we're talking about a teenage boy's libido here, and Brian's son to boot; that's a pretty lethal combination.;)  Michal and I should be able to update this a little faster now, also, since she's done with her big test.

The web just keeps getting more tangled. I'm glad Justin made it very clear that he only wanted to be friends with Gus.

Gus should trust his instincts concerning Tristan. It's obvious that he is attracted to Gus, I just think Tristan is waiting for Gus to make the first move. If Daphne had stayed sleeping a little longer, Gus and Tristan would have been in a serious lip lock.

Ahhhh I'm loving a sensitive Kinney, openly vulnerable, couldn't think there might be one but thanx God there is one, although its Gus Kinney :p . And yes I can't wait for the angst ...... Aw, Sabyyaa, you are TOO funny!  You know me WAY too well.:)  Well, Michal writes a lot shorter chapters than I do, and even with adding to it I'm having problems coming up to my normal word-count standard - ha!  But maybe that means we can update faster too.:)  If it's any consolation, I AM working on the next part of "Stallion" right now, and it's up to about 8,300 words, so that should be more up to my normal word count.:) And I'm not done with it just yet!

Sooo exciting oh my God! This last word.. I felt nothing when I read it as the title, but now as I've finished reading the chapter my heart is doing flip-flops just from the sight of it!! 

I wonder whether the authors realize that they have done a revolution in qaf-fanfiction by this fic? It' s the first time the reader can ask himself if he wants Justin to be with Brian!! It would have been a nonsense before!!

However I can't but point out one very very little but still a flaw of this fic..Brian is 14(!!) years older than Justin instead of canon 12..it makes him realy old!

Hi, my friend!  Thank you for reading this introductory chapter and for the comments.  We understand your opinion - we both think it could have been quite plausible for Justin and Gus to explore their feelings for each other; but there is the other camp that kind of sees a squeamish sort of factor to it, especially if Brian and Justin wind up together.  That's not to say that the idea of a triangle of sorts won't be explored here and some angst will ensue.  We do hope you will continue to be intrigued by this, and we agree - the idea of a 'bad boy' sort of Justin in leather on a bike definitely has a certain appeal to it.;)
