I was so happy to see this chapter! It seems ages have passed since you’ve updated this, I miss it so much.

The scene with Justin throwing himself in Brian’s arms was so sweet and touching, you described it in such a beautiful way. The connection between the boys is palpable and rare.

I just thought that it would be awesome to see a movies based on this story. It has such a unique atmosphere, I savor every line of every chapter – it all would look awesome on the screen.

The moment with Will and Sarah broke my heart. Maybe it’s because the nature surrounds them here, but everything feels stronger – love and grief as well. I admire Will for his strength, and every moment he shares with Brian is so special. He is strict and unyielding sometimes, but it’s obvious how much his cares for the boy. I hope Brian feels it.

I understand why Justin is sp hesitant about riding again. He needs some time. I hope his parents won’t push him into something he is not ready for.

Thanks, Kim! It was an amazing update, as always. I look forward to the next one!

Author's Response:

Hi, Katrin! Thank you as always for reading, and especially commenting. Sigh...I know. How I wish I could update faster! But I just posted the next part, so hopefully you will continue to enjoy it.  Each time I think this story is at its end, it keeps going.;)  But I don't want readers to think I'm rushing this just to get it finished. But it is winding down toward its conclusion.  The main issue I will need to address is what happens when the boys are separated. That will be answered before I'm done.

Thanks again for all your support, Katrin! I appreciate that so much.  *Hugs* ~Kim

I'm still loving story Kim! I can't wait for more updates. I can fully understand Justin's hesitation on the track. I just hope he can pull through it before the race!

Author's Response:

Hi, Rachel!  You're very kind to let me know that you are stil enjoying this story. Thank you for letting me know; I greatly appreciate that.  This has been a different sort of story for the boys, but I have really been enjoying writing it. Thank you again for the support; I should be getting this one updated soon. *Hugs* ~Kim

The two reminded me of Romeo and Juliet in the beginning of this chapter.  I loved it.

Happy to see Craig going to work to take some pressure off Justin. Perhaps Justin is no longer feels the need to compete now that his family is no longer dependant on him.

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra! Sorry it has taken me a few days to respond to your review. My additional hours at work are really affecting my response time.  I like your analogy to Romeo and Juliet. :) And yes, the dynamics in the family are definitely changing, and will continue to change,  as will the boys' relationship. Thank you for continuing to read and review this story, Sandra. I'm delighted that you are still enjoying it. 😊  *Hugs *Kim

Nice update... I hope Justin gets over his jitters quickly.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading, and for the comments, Trish!  Justin's hesitation will be addressed more in the next chapter. I think a certain brunet may be able to help him just a bit.;)  I'll have the next part up as soon as I can. Thanks again for the support. *Hugs* ~Kim

I'm so in love with this story... The scene between Sarah and Will was so beautiful. I love that Sarah is defending Brian and that Will let the boys spend some time together. And Justin had so much to deal with, it's not surprising he's holding back... Again, anxiously waiting for the next part even if I'm not looking forward to let this story go... Thank you for another wonderful chapter :)

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend!  It means a lot to me that you have been enjoying this story so much. Thank you for letting me know that.  The scene with Will and Sarah was bittersweet, but I had been wanting to write a scene with them at Dale's grave for some time.  I felt like this was the right time for Will to come to grips more with his son's death.

Thank you for reading, and for the support.  Both are greatly appreciated. *Hugs*  ~Kim

What a lovely chapter.  The love between our boys is so special.   Will and Sarah's sadness brought tears to my eyes.  I can't imagine loosing a child.   What is Justin going to do.  Will Brian ride for him?

Dee Dee

Author's Response:

Hi, Dee Dee - always a delight to hear from you, my friend.;)  Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for leaving your thoughts.  I will be further addressing Justin's 'stage fright/PTSD' in the next chapter, as well as moving the story forward a little more toward its pendng conclusion. Thank you again for always being so supportive. *Hugs*  ~Kim

So great - another chapter. My heart broke for Will and Sarah - I can't imagine outliving your child, let alone trying to come to terms with it. Jared really needs a boot up his arse. Hopefully Justin's fears will dissipate as he continues to practice - Vic is right - Justin's heart may not be in it anymore but he'll want to go out 'with a bang'. What better way to show those who wanted to hurt him he won't be beaten down.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading this latest chapter, and for the feedback, Monica!  Yes, it was hard to write the scene with Sarah & Will. It is a bittersweet day for them on Dale's birthday. But I do think Will is in a better place emotionally now, partly due to Brian helping to ease his grief just a bit.  And good point about wanting to show others that Justin is not afraid of what happened to him.  I will be further addressing his fear in the next part.  I'm probaby envisioning maybe 3, 4 more chapters to this before it's done. Thank you for all the support! I greatly appreciate that. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Loved this story from the very beginning, and I'm happy to see it continued.

Brian and Justin together as teenagers, on a farm, so adorable. Looking forward to what you have in mind about their future, maybe going to college together?

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading this story, and especially for taking the time to leave feedback; I greatly appreciate that.;)  I have enjoyed writing B and J in this environment, which is so different than where they would be typically.  I will kind of miss that farm.;)  I see maybe 2 - 4 more chapters before it's concluded. Thank you again for the support! *Hugs* ~Kim

Oh you made me cry with Sarah and Will at Dale's gravesite.

I do hope Justin can get past his anxiety about racing.

And I do love seeing a playful/loving Brian, thanks for that.

Thanks for sharing, always happy to see your updates :-)

Author's Response:

Hi, Melinda!  Yes, it was rather sad. But at least they know what happened now, and they have Brian.;)  I'm glad that you have been enjoying this story, and look forward to the updates.;p)   I do have a bit more to tell - perhaps 2, 3 chapters? - before it's said and done. Thank you for reading, and for the support! *Hugs* ~Kim

OH poor Justin he has all the pressure to help out the family and now he has some PTSD from the recent events. However I love the interaction with between the boys.

Author's Response:

Hi, Chris!  Thank you for your support, and for the feedback!  I could just see the two boys over in the apple orchard, flirting with each other.;) And Brian's uncle is finally coming around to accepting them together.  Unfortunately, they may very well be separated come next fall.  And Jared needs to get a job - ha!  I do think he's finally turned a corner in his behavior, though, after their brush with death, but old habits due hard as they say.  It will take a little more time before he loses all the arrogance and conceit, but he IS getting better, and I do think that was a wake up call.

Thanks again for reading, and especially taking the time to comment, Chris! I truly appreciate all the support you give me, and have always given me. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hey Kim...here I am again to support you....all in my best interest...I'm not reading this FF..till it's completed but I want you to know that I'm here, checking everyday if this work is in progress :P...don't let me down ;)

Author's Response:

Hi, Ersilia! That means so much to me, that you would do that, even though you're waiting to read it. Thank you!  It IS getting very close to completion; I would say perhaps a couple more chapters?  So I do hope once I get it done that you will enjoy it. I have certainly enjoyed writing about them in this setting that is so atypical for where Brian would normally be.;)  Thank you for taking the time to indicate your support. That is deeply appreciated.  And don't worry; like all my other stories, this one WILL be completed. I know only too well how it is to get so caught up in a story, only to discover to my great disappointment that it is - and never will be - completed. :(  One of my pet peeves as well as a reader, so I totally understand you waiting. :)

*Hugs* Kim

I'm just going to say a simple I love this story...I hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Tamara!  It makes me happier than you know to hear you say you are enjoying it.  I probably have a couple more chapters before it's put to bed, so to speak.  I have really enjoyed writing in this 'verse that is so different than Brian's normal environment, but I think it's time to end it soon. The interest in it seems to be waning for whatever reason - perhaps because Dale's death has been resolved, perhaps due to all the amazing stories on here right now - but for whatever reason, I think it's time, and the story plot is winding down. That said, though, I DO have some issues still to address, and with my penchant for being wordy, I may need more than two chapters. ;)

Thanks again for all the support you give me and so many other writers on this site. Without readers - and writers, such as you - I think the large majority of us would still be motivated to keep these boys alive.  *Hugs* ~Kim

You could feel the sadness brought on by the celebration of Dale's birthday.  Now Justin has to get back in the saddle so to speak.  Perhaps Brian can help?

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend - yes, I think Justin is going to need a little support from a certain other boy.;)  Thank you as always for reading and for taking the time to comment. *Hugs*  ~Kim

Brian and Justin are so cute together here.  I'm sure that Brian is worried about what will happend when/if they have to part ways.

Hi, my friend!  Yes, I suspect both boys are regretting that eventuality.  But hopefully love will find a way to keep them together.;)  Thanks for reading, and for your comments.  *Hugs* ~Kim
