Well done on a fantastic story both of you! It was gripping from the very beginning right through to the very end! And what I liked most, was that the story Gus/Tristan was so exciting that I was sometimes more interested in reading that, which actually surprised me, cause I don't usually go for the teeny stuff, but I really enjoyed it and it was a completely riveting read!

Forgive the rant... My blood was running hot (no duh!) at the end of that encounter. I remember when I was a kid and would fight like that with my sister, my mother would literally blow a whistle and tell us we might as well duke it out until someone came up a winner. Of course we never got to that point... (quite)... LOL
And I know that Brian is a different person here, because his history is different. Raising a son from the beginning, etc. He's still fighting that self-image issue where it comes to his son, however. And Gus? Well, I really can't cut him a lot of slack here, hormones or not. He is doing the 'shoot first, ask questions later' routine, with a man who has dedicated his entire life to him. He listened to MICHAEL rather than hearing out his dad. Heat of the moment aside, he believed his dad betrayed him, apparently purposely. (Of course that wouldn't make for quite as exciting a story. LOL)
HEA (Happily Ever After) - I love them with this pair!
Regarding the challenge: My friend, no thanks is ever needed. This is all in fun, and it should always be that way. (Just glad there wasn't an all expense paid trip to the next RiseNShine con on the line... <evil grin>)

I do think this accident will put a lot of thiings into perspective for both father and son. And maybe poor Tristan will finally get a little attention here! Poor kid.;)
And yes, Gus is being a little scamp (and I'm using that word politely). But I guess that sight would have blindsided him; that might explain it a bit, but not quite condone it.

Yes, Michal tends to write Justin as a more dominating, assertive character, and I think for this story you would have to see write him that way. That doesn't mean, though, that there will not be some twists and turns along the way that may both surprise as well as disappoint him. I'm sure you know how much I like angst, and this story promises to have a lot of that before it's all said and done.;)

Author's Response: Aw, Sabyyaa, you are TOO funny! You know me WAY too well.:) Well, Michal writes a lot shorter chapters than I do, and even with adding to it I'm having problems coming up to my normal word-count standard - ha! But maybe that means we can update faster too.:) If it's any consolation, I AM working on the next part of "Stallion" right now, and it's up to about 8,300 words, so that should be more up to my normal word count.:) And I'm not done with it just yet!
Yes, angst alert definitely needed here! But I'm hopeful by the time we all get done, everyone will be in a happier place. But I DO like the idea of Brian choosing his son's love over his love for Justin; I think that brings up a lot of interesting dilemmas. We understand your opinion - we both think it could have been quite plausible for Justin and Gus to explore their feelings for each other; but there is the other camp that kind of sees a squeamish sort of factor to it, especially if Brian and Justin wind up together. That's not to say that the idea of a triangle of sorts won't be explored here and some angst will ensue. We do hope you will continue to be intrigued by this, and we agree - the idea of a 'bad boy' sort of Justin in leather on a bike definitely has a certain appeal to it.;)

I must admit, I was very excited to read the premise for this story. This was new. I was even more excited after reading the chapter. I love it, so far. My only question or concern is why not. You have the potential for Gus/Justin. I have read that pairing before and liked and didn't like it, depending on how it was written.
Good story, nevertheless. I just thought -- why limit yourself.

We thought about that issue (of Justin and Gus together); after all, they are only two years apart in this story. But the way it will be written, there would be some readers that would not like that pairing if the triangle goes in a certain direction, so to reassure those readers of that, we thought it was best to put that disclaimer on there. But that's not to say that there won't still be some pursuing going on here. The only question is, which one will be doing the pursuing (or 'ones')? There will definitely be angst involved with this one nonetheless. We hope that whatever direction it takes, it will continue to be an interesting one for you.

Thank god for the fyi cos I can't stand Justin and Gus pairing, it really squicks me out! But you've really intrigued with the premise, don't think I've ever come across a story with Gus and Justin at a similar age. Great chapter, looking forward to the rest of this story :D

Hi, Hannah! Thanks so much for reading and for the comments, my friend; it is greatly appreciated! Yes, we thought it best to be upfront about what sort of physical relationship (or lack thereof) that would be involved with Gus and Justin. Even though they are only two years apart in this story, we know a lot of readers still would have that 'eww' factor going on if we went that route. There WILL be some attraction (mainly one-sided) going on regarding that, and perhaps even some brief kissing, but nothing more. We're glad to see that you're intrigued, and hope that you will hang in there with us while we flesh this out further.
