ha! A moonshined Kinney is an adorable thing. His sneaky passionate kiss was wonderful. :] I always love when writers have Justin strong and stand up for himself, a weak Justin just does'nt fit. Someone needs to continue to knock Jared of his high horse that he's too lazy to even ride. This story is great!

'"I love the sound of a train horn," he told him as their shoulders touched.  "There's just something nostalgic about them, almost hypnotic.  It's peaceful in a way."-I agree. I grew up near a train that ran across our back woods, when we moved I had a hard time sleeping without the whistle.

Hi, Tina!  I'm sorry I missed your review the other day; sorry about that!  I, too, like the idea of a drunk, singing Brian.:)  My grandmother lived in a home in Kentucky where the train ran right in front of her home, and I used to go there and visit with my parents and brothers and listen as the train got closer and closer as I lay in bed at night.  Perhaps that's why it's so nostalgic to me, too.

Thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your comments.  I am really enjoying this take on a younger Brian and how he is slowly bonding with both Justin as well as his aunt and uncle.  I will definitely have Emmett's arrival as well as the town social coming up in the next chapter, and it won't be long before Justin reveals more about the circumstances surrounding Dale's death.  Thank you again for the support.  BTW - noticed we both have a favorite author in common - confused_bliss.:)  If I need a 'dominating'  Brian to handle Jared I know where to turn to - LOL!  I'll get this updated soon.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yup! we were waiting for the social. We can wait.  This Jared is a trip.  None of us like him.  Lee especially dislikes him as he reminds him of a kid he went to school with=not a nice kid picked on a lot of kids.  Lee said he beat this kid up in 8th grade and caught hell-but it was worth it he said and the kid stopped his attacks.  Who would have thought Lee was such a beast.!!  Ha!.  Where are you taking us next, young lady?  Nonie is doing fantastic.  She will have to stay out of work for six weeks at least.  She has come to stay with me for a while.  It's easier for me as I'm closer to work this way.  Three workers here have attached themselves to me as the rumor mill has it about my reading prowess.  I guess I have to include them in my "peeps".  We have a place to read now also.  Funny how things ebb and flow.  One young man has just purchased the 5 years of qaf.  It still amazes me how many fans this show still has after all these years so he is really turned on to your stories.  I have had him read several and he is hooked.  So if you get reviews from Sam-you will know who he is.  BB is good, still working hard and dating lots!!  lol

Hi, my friend!  Hello, ever-growing Peeps!  You are so wonderful to find new recruits for my stories - I can't tell you how much your confidence in me means, lindc; thank you for all the wonderful support you've given me and continue to give me.  I hope I can continue for a long time to write stories that you and your friends will enjoy.:)  It gives me a lot of pleasure to do that.

Tell Nonie I am very relieved that she is doing well and that I am thinking about her!  That's wonderful news!  And tell Lee good for him for standing up to that jerk like Justin did with his brother.  As you can imagine, though, Jared is none too pleased at the moment, and that little green monster is eating him alive.  He will be using Emmett in a not-so-nice way coming up to try and drive a wedge between the two boys, but we all know whatever gains he makes will be short-lived. 

It sounds like your new friend Sam is quite hooked on QAF just like me!  Tell him about the plans for the QAF con in LA next June; they're still working on it, but I'm very hopeful they'll pull it off.  He might be interested in attending - it was wonderful at the one in Germany to see all of them in person (except Gale - he'd better show up this time - grrrrrr!).

I learnt something in this chapter too; you can’t tip a cow; but can you tip a heifer? LOL Yay, that’s the type of Justin I like to see, one that uses his brain and can see he has an advantage. What will this town social bring and how is Em following Jared around going to work to his advantage? Please update as soon as possible. Thank you for the long chapter.

Hi, my friend! I'm so delighted that you liked this latest chapter!  To answer your question, I would imagine a heifer weighs pretty much the same as a cow, so in my scientific opinion I would still say that cow-tipping is out - ha!  The things I have to research for this story!  At least they have indoor plumbing; when I was growing up and we went to visit my grandmother in Kentucky, she had an outhouse for a long time; trust me, it was a loooonnng walk to get there when it was cold!:)

Jared will be using Emmett in a not-so-nice way in the next chapter, but of course we would expect nothing less.  I promise to update this again very soon; thank you for all the feedback, Flossee, and for being so supportive of my stories, my friend; I greatly appreciate that.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

That damn Jared.....he just needs to realize that Brian has no interest in him at all especially after he lied about their only encounter.

Craig needs to take heed to what Jennifer is trying to tell him about his favoring one son over the other. Kudos to Justin for standing up for himself and reminding Craig what their family would be losing if he continues to be harder on him and coddles Jared.

Hi, Tamara!  Thank you for the feedback, Sweetheart!  You're so faithful about that, and I do appreciate it; it's always very encouraging to me.  Yes, Justin can be quite feisty when he's stirred up, can't he?:)  Jared, I'm afraid, isn't done provoking his brother; I think it's just too much of a wound to his pride and his ego to let it drop.  Let's just say that the town social should be quite interesting in a lot of ways!

Ha- Brian is funny when he's drunk, but I bet he's going to have a whopper of a hangover the next day. Craig's favoritism of Jared over Justin continues to show, and Jared can't stand the fact that Brian has the hots for Justin. I think eventually his jealousy is going to bite him in the butt. Hi, Janet - me, too - and pumpkin pie, and strawberry shortcake and butter pecan ice cream... uh, where was I?  LOL!  Oh, yeah!  I think you're right - Jared's pride has been wounded, so he will have to lash out one more time at a minimum with some pretty dire results, at least in the short term.  But eventually he's going to realize he is wasting his time - Brian has found his match.;)
