Wow! It's been a long while since I read this fic last! But RL hasn't gone easy on me, so I couldn't read this until now.... But it was so worth it! This is getting better and better... I just hope that Brian and his aunt and uncle get closer... Anyway, as always, great work! On another note, I wanted to tell you that I have taken the liberty to save some of your fics (my favorites) in my computer and turned them into PDF format so that I can read them in my Tablet whenever I go out of town... I hope you don't mind.... They're that good! :D Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter to be up! Hope to read you soon! Kisses!
Author's Response: Hi, Fátima! I'm so glad to hear from you again! I do hope that things get better for you, and I don't mind you converting them to a PDF format at all to read - I'm very honored that you like them well enough to do that! And I'm happy that you're enjoying this story. I'm enjoying writing B & J in this unusual setting.:) I'll work hard on getting this updated soon. In the meantime, I really DO have to provide a nice, long update for "Heart's Desire" for those who have been waiting for it. Thanks again! *Hugs* ~Kim

Well that was annoying but frustrating! What's the big secret . WHAT happened with Dale? AARRRRGGGGHHH!
Author's Response: Now if I told you, you wouldn't come back again now, would you? I have to have SOME secrets! Besides, it seems like someone else left readers with a MAJOR cliffhanger of his own (hint, hint). Now that you're done catching up with this story, you can finish your own! We're waiting! Hope you will continue to enjoy it. Thank you for all the comments.:)

I AM VERY BAD, I MUST ADMIT. I HAVEN'T REVIEWED THIS STORY FOR A FEW CHAPTERS. NO EXCUSES-JUST SORRY. WELL OK I HAVE ONE-TOO MUCH WORK, TOO LITTLE SPARE TIME. I FINALLY GOT CAUGHT UP. THIS LAST THREE PART CHAPTER WAS THE BEST. WAITING FOR THE BIG GET TOGETHER SCENE. I WAS TOLD BY A CERTAIN SOMEONE THAT THIS THREE PART WAS UP. I REALLY HAVEN'T BEEN ON MY LAPTOP FOR A REALLY LONG TIME. HAVE BEEN KEEPING THE HOUSE UP TO SNUFF, EATING AND TRYING TO GET SOME REST-NOT HAPPENING. THE GOOD NEWS IS OR BAD I FOUND A PLACE TO LIVE AND NONIE IS COMING HOME NEXT WEEK. SAD OVER THERE AS SHE HAD THE FUNERAL WE WERE ALL EXPECTING. WILL TRY NOT TO BE SO REMISS IN THE FUTURE. ALL HELL IS BREAKING HERE--SO BUSY AND BB HAS GONE AWAY TEACHING FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. NOTHING STAYS THE SAME AT ALL. WILL BE WAITING FOR HEART'S. DUE SOON??? HOPEFULLY. LOVE 2 U.
Author's Response: Hi, Lee! I was hoping I would hear from you, Sweetheart! Sounds like you are working way too hard, but I'm happy for you that you have found a new place. I know how nice it is to have a place to call your own. So sorry to hear about Nonie's mother, but I suspected it wasn't going to be good from what lindc had told me. Please give her my sincerest condolences
And there is no need for you to apologize for not reviewing and/or reading; I LOVE hearing from you, but your personal life must come first. I DO hope the job continues to go well for you and that things settle down a little eventually. Please take care of yourself, Lee! And yes, either your story is up next, or it will be soon afterward. I'm toying with finishing "Dog Days" first since I'm so close to the end so I can devote more time to my other three stories then, but do not fear; I have not forgotten it and will definitely be getting back to it very soon.
Please try and have some fun out therealong the way with the "Lucky Devil" and keep in touch when you can; I'll be thinking about you. I'm sending you a big hug and my love, too.:) ~Kim

nice long chapter, very interesting-the boys are getting closer. the town social should be interesting for them if it waits that long. Brian seems to be quite adament in his quest for fulfillment. that's our boy though younger or older. it's in his genes, jeans, Hee Hee!! Our life disrupted agan. BB off to another hospital in the area for another teaching mission. i am off for a few days as we have been bombarded with cases. worked 48 hours with only three hours sleep. so now i can get cought op on my sleep-not getting any younger you know.!! have been reading 50 shades of grey-what a book. have you read it?? somethings in it and specifics remind me of some stories here. lol
Author's Response: Hi, lindc! Wow! That's a lot of work without much sleep - I'm glad you've finally got a chance to unwind and relax. I have certainly heard about "50 Shades of Gray" but haven't read it yet. I've read mixed reviews about it - you'll have to let me know your thoughts when you get done. From what I've heard about it, I can defintely see some similarities, though.:) Hope Brian doesn't overdo and gets back to his normal schedule soon (your Brian, I mean - ha!). Please tell Lee I said hello and that his favorite story should be getting updated soon - it's either next or right after I work on Tricky's story (I'd like to wrap that one up if I can).
Take care of yourself! Tell Nonie, too, that I'm keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. *Hugs* ~Kim

You are evil, you know that?! I need to know what happened to Dale!
Glad the boys took the time to really talk and got a good perspective of the other. Poor Justin, that's a lot of pressure for a kid! Of course, the flirting and that HOT kiss don't hurt! This social should be interesting...
Author's Response: Hi, Megan! Yes, I know I'm evil; althought this time it wasn't really intentional - after writing three chapters on the same story, I thought I really needed to stop and move onto at least for a while to my other stories that are being sorely neglected, especially "Heart's Desire." The only question is - will Brian be able to WAIT until tomorrow night? Hmm...
Thanks as always for reading and for your support, my friend; you know how much I appreciate that.:) And enjoy the DVD! I haven't watched it yet, so if I see myself in there I'll let you know so you can see what I look like. Someone told me I'm in there somewhere! Take care and have a great weekend! *Hugs* ~Kim

Berry picking seemed extremely attractive all of a sudden.
I knew when I read that I was in for a treat. Brian still reminds me of Wile E. Coyote, LOL. I loved that berry splattering scene!
I also love the tension between Brian and Justine, but at least this time they were more open and honest with each other -- just not about their feelings about each other – at least verbally.
Justin is under a lot of pressure. I don’t see a way out of it for him. That was a very tender scene between the two of them. With all the pressure Justin has, it’s a shame he lies in fear of his father’s disapproval and craves his attention.
I can’t wait to read about Brian and Justin the town social. I wonder how Jared will handle seeing them together. And I’m curious to find out how Dale died.
Please update soon. J
Author's Response: Hi, Sandra! Yes, who thought that blackberries could be such potent weapons? LOL! I liked your description, too, of Brian as Wile E. Coyote - that certainly fits - beep, beep!! And the boys are slowly bonding together, athough Justin is still a little skeptical about Brian's true feelings and motives here. I'm not quite sure that even Brian knows what he's getting into, but they will continue to explore their feelings toward each other as the story progresses. Thank you so much fo reading and for the comments, Sandr I really appreciate that. The town social should be quite 'enlightening' for a LOT of people. I'll work hard on getting this updated soon. *Hugs* ~Kim

Ahhh, yes - hot B/J kissing. So nice. Thanks for posting another chapter again so quickly. Can't wait to read about their date to the social. TAG
Author's Response: Thank you, Tag; not quite the 'smut' you wanted (just yet!), but I'm slowly getting there. And will Brian be able to wait until the social or will he want to do a little 'private socializing' of his own beforehand, despite what he told Justin? Hmm...Not sure if I can resist that possibility! Thanks again for reading and for your comments; I really appreciate that. ~Kim

LOL! I love playful Brian, and this chapter was great. Please keep writing :))
Author's Response: Hi, Madeleine! Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment; I really appreciate your support! I also enjoy the bantering between these two, but I thought it was time I threw Brian a bone here and gave him a little of what he's seeking. I think Justin's still undecided on his true motives, though, and will need some more time before he's convinced of Brian's real intentions. I'll be updating this again very soon; thank you for your support.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

I am glad that Brian and Justin talked.
Great chapter, looking forward for more.
Author's Response: Thank you, Lynn! Yes, I'm trying to nudge their friendship forward just a bit now, but I think Justin's still not convinced about Brian's intentions, so it will be a while before they come to a mutual understanding. I'm going to enjoy working on their progression, though, as well as how Brian's relationship slowly changes with his aunt and uncle. Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment, Lynn; I'll get this updated again very shortly. *Hugs* ~Kim

Yay this is great; Brian is gaining some understanding of Justin’s situation. Dale is still a mystery; I hope Justin wasn’t involved in any way. I like the fact they got to talk and kiss plus a shirtless perspiring Brian; what a treat. Great chapter, thank you.
Cheers
Author's Response: Thank YOU, Flossee, for reading and for the comments; I'm sure as a fellow writer you know how much that means to me.:) Dale's death will be explained more in the next chapter (I really wanted to squeeze it in here, but as usual I got too wordy again - ha!). And I see Emmett making an appearance in the next part, too.:) Thanks again for the support. *Hugs* ~Kim

Another amazing chapter and how annoying was Brian for Justin lol Brian is going to get that information on Dale and also then start worrying about Justin lol. Angst to come I suspect Kim XX Chris
Author's Response: Now Chris you know I never write angst - ha! The town social should be quite interesting - I see a lot going on there between not only the boys, but Craig, Brian's aunt & uncle, Jared, and even Emmett, who is about to show up. Dale's death will be explained in more detail coming up, and I think a certain older Taylor brother will not like the heat almost pouring off his younger brother and their sexy neighbor boy. Thank you for reading and for the comments, Chris; you've been such a long-term supporter of my stories almost from Day One, and I really do appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim

what a nice surprise to get a bonus chapter here out of rotation - and I loved the way you brought them to a place of getting to know each other on a deeper level while still having that delightful UST between them - always leaves us yearning for more
I'll be away for a few days on retreat - so if you post and I don't respond it's not that I'm not interested! Can't wait for more on every front...
loving life,
Charle
Author's Response: Hi, Charle! Yes, I wound up with three chapters here, but not really intentionally; I just got so wordy that I couldn't keep it to one chapter (imagine that - LOL!). I do love to write UST between these two, and this is no exception. They are slowly bonding together, but Justin is not yet quite sure how to proceed with his new neighbor. Hope you have a safe trip and a good time - take care and thanks again for reading and for the comments.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

I really like the way your writing has changed to keep up or should I say back with the times. Things were different then and your writing is very in tune with what was happening then. People on farms did what was necessary to make ends meet. Sulky racing was and still can be very dangerous, so I wonder if Justin for some unexplicable reason won't be racing but Brian will. Don't know-thought came to me when he admitted how much he likes speed. My mind wanders around while reading this story as I love it so much. Still waiting for the roll in the hay tho-Ha!!
Author's Response: Ha! Don't worry - we'll get some sort of 'roll in the hay' there somewhere - you can count on it.:) And you might be (sort of) on the right track with Brian, but in a slightly different twist. I am enjoying writing about them in this setting and at a different age, though. I have some more ideas coming up that would not work in the Pitts, so I'm having fun with this one.:) Thank you for reading and for the comments, Kym; I'll get this updated again very soon.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

Aaaggrrr Brian you idiot ! You don't lay down for a running horse * shakes head * and throwing berries ... woww that's mature ... and what if Headstrong startled and runs off, throwing Justin on the ground. Brian Brian Brian * sigh *. No wonder Justin is more than angry.
But the ending of the chapter is very very nice, I like THAT Brian.
Great chapter Kim, thanks.
* hugs *
Author's Response: Hi, Marny! Well, Brian is a little younger here, so probably less mature, too; although, you could make a case that he's not exactly mature when he gets older, either - ha! Thanks as always for reading and taking the time to comment. Now I really do have to move over to "Heart's Desire" and "Dog Days" to work on those before everyone abandons me! *Hugs* ~Kim

I was ready to med fight Brian off to the nearest hospital to have his legs repaired. I know what a buggy can do, and it aint pretty! City kids, you just can't let them loose in the country. Oh and lets not even think of his shirtless and wearing gloves to pick blackberries. I guess by now his arms and body are a bloody mess from all the scratches. But his fingers will be scar free for handfeeding the sweet berries into Justin eager mouth when they have their late night meeting over the hog pen. I don't think I'm too much in love with Headstrong, he seems a bit too skittery and high strung to make a good pet horse. I think he's the type to bolt at a falling leaf. I don't picture him running up to you in the field for a carrot and nipping at your back pocket while you clean his stall. I think he's just a race horse, all juiced up on grain, his eye on the finish line. Oh well Justin won't miss him when he leaves for Art School. Maybe Vic can sell him for a good price or if he's not gelded maybe stud him out and make a little money that way.
I was thrilled to see the soft romantic side of Brian coming out. I think if he keeps this up he just might get a little more kissy face with Justin. I think Brian should consider keeping a Tide Stain Stick in his pocket for any little accidents that might pop up, I think if he's prepared for any tragic event it might easy Justin mind and make it more relaxing and that might lead to more friendly behavior. Wonderful chapter, I loved it and so wish it was black berry season so I could enjoy some juicy berries. Lori
Author's Response: Thanks for the comments, Lori! I don't know if a Tide-To-Go Pen will work for the type of stains that Brian would need it for - ha! I think with Brian's relatively young age, though, we can maybe expect him to not be so mature yet. Then again, was he ever 'mature?' LOL! Sigh.... as much as I would like to dwell in the Bluegrass of Kentucky, I really do need to move over to my much-neglected "Heart's Desire" and "Dog Days" for a while. Thanks for being so encouraging to me by leaving comments; I really appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim

It's about time Justin acknowledged the truth about why he's pushed so hard. Brian definitely put things in prospective even if it was hard to hear.
Can't wait to see what happens at the town social JP
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Thanks first of all for being so supportive of my stories; I am very grateful for that.:) I think there will have to be a lot of changes coming up for not only Justin and his family, but also the Walkers (and Brian). And will Brian be able to wait until tomorrow night before he has another visit with his beautiful, blond neighbor? And what does corn liquor have to do with all this?? Hmmm....:)
Thanks again for reading and for the comments, my friend. I'll get this updated soon - and I'm looking forward to your own updates, BTW.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

What a sad state of affairs that a parent can't see the burden he (and she) is placing on the child. On one child. Yet the other is pampered. Cinderella anyone? But it happens so frequently. Justin is the golden goose and isn't even allowed time to enjoy the feathers he was born to fly with!
Great chapter, getting into the meat and bones of who these boys are.
Thanks for the update and eagerly looking foward to more.
Roni
Author's Response: Hi, Roni! Loved the comment about the 'golden goose' - how astute and written like the true, gifted writer that you are.:) I'm so honored that you're enjoying this story. I will get it updated again soon, but I really have to go back to "Heart's Desire" and work on that for a while before everyone forgets about it! Thanks so much for all the comments; I am very grateful for that. *Hugs* ~Kim
