It's a super story... so glad you didn't let your doubting Thomas voice win!
The only anomaly though is why Brian would be kept in the dark about Dale's death... Surely Sarah would've told her sister what had happened to him?
Author's Response: Hello, Elizabeth! Just wanted to pop in to say I appreciate all your comments on this story. I had a lot of fun writing it; especially the parts that made Brian feel like an alien in another world - ha! As for experience, I have visited relatives in Kentucky (was born there, too), but have never really lived on a farm. Would have liked to, though. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thank you again for all the feedback. I really appreciate that. :) ~Kim

Hey sweetie! Loved this chapter! I had a feeling Dale had died in an accident. Love the moments between Brian and his aunt. He so needs that mother figure in his life, because we all know how useless Joan was. Looking forward to more with the boys possibly bonding over Justin's training.
Author's Response: Hi, Megan! I'm so happy that you're enjoying this story.:) I'm almost ready to post the next part, but I'm not quite there yet. There's going to be a lot occuring here between Justin and Brian's growing relationship and Brian's impact in his aunt and uncle's lives. In addition, Justin's own family dynamics will be changing as well. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing - and for being so supportive of my stories. *Hugs* ~Kim

Like the build up and all the foreshadowing. Do I detect a hint of a possible track accident involving Justin with Brian rushing to the rescue. Please say yes! It could be so romantic. But, probably too obvious. Can't wait for the next chapter with the promised B/J action - need more smut! Please. In the hay. Or on the barn. Or back at the lake. Or anywhere. (LOL) Thanks. TAG
Author's Response: Thank you for the comments, Tag; I'm surprised you've even got time to read lately - ha! You sure can crank them out....sigh; if only I had that much time...!
This one will definitely have B and J in the next chapter featured prominently. You are correct about the build-up, though; I see them taking a while to work through their friendship before they consummate their attraction to each other, but of course, I have to have a few kisses and other flirtations throw into the mix in the meantime for good measure.:) So alas, no smut just yet. But it's definitely coming. I hope you nd the other readers will bear with me while I flesh out more of the storyline. I can do PWP like the rest of them, but this one obviously will be more complex than that. Thanks again for taking the time to read and review. ~Kim

Hello my friend, I barely have time to take a breath these days, but I wanted to stop in to let you know I am still enjoying this story immensely. This is my favorite of yours right now. And, I eagerly await the next set of sparks to fly between our favorite boys. I understand chapters with no interaction between our boys. I have had to write a few of those myself... but, I never like doing it.
Thank you for your updates. I know with being back at school it's not easy. My work schedule does the same for me. The update always makes the wait worthwhile. *Hugsss*
Author's Response: Thank you, my friend, for reading and for the comments. Yes, it's even slower than I thought it would be; I guess that comes from having to grade eighteen sets of papers on my own! Back in 2006 I was actually a student in the same class, and we had the same number of students but TWO teachers... I guess that's a sign of the times, though, and I feel fortunate just to HAVE a good job, and one that allows me time off to do 'important' things like go see Randy and go to conventions - ha!
Thank you for taking the time to leave me feedback; coming from one of my favorite writers, that's a big honor to me.:) *Hugs* back ~Kim

Hi, just caught up with this...i'm really enjoying the story, can't wait for what's in store for my fav boys :)
Author's Response: Hi, Kimi! So delighted to hear that you're still following my story and enjoying it; I always love to hear your thoughts.:) I will get the boys back together in the next chapter - I'm *this* close to posting it now, but I'm not quite where I want it to be. Let's just say that Brian will be using whatever means he has available out in the country to get Justin's attention in a unique way.:)
Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to review, Kimi; I am very honored and grateful by that. I will get the next part posted very soon, and then I think I really do have to go back to poor Tricky in "Dog Days of Summer!" *Hugs* ~Kim

I wish I could convey how much I'm enjoying this story. It is quiet and unassuming yet interesting enough to keep the page turning. The country setting of this fic is far removed from most QAF stories and a delight. I don't have to have sexual tension and innuendo in a chapter to enjoy it. The rest of the story more than makes up for it. I love the charcters of Sarah and Will and the storyline is reminisent of classic farm or southern stories I read in my youth.
It seems that Sarah wants her husband to heal over the death of their son and believes Brian is the key to that goal. I wonder why Will is so angry or unable to get past their son's death. I can't wait to hear the whole story behind it.
I'm anxious for an update but would hate for this story to ever end.
Author's Response: Hi, Sandra! This has to be one of the nicest reviews I think I've ever received; THANK YOU for those lovely comments! Between the two being teenagers closer in age and the rural/country setting, it IS quite different from my other stories and most other ones that are normally posted. My family on both sides came from Kentucky, so this is near and dear to me. I remember how different the tempo was whenever we visited our grandmother's farm - you HAD to relax - you had no choice! Of course, Justin doesn't quite have that luxury here, because so much is on his shoulders. But he will find himself confiding more and more in Brian, and the two will continue to deepen their friendship before they go to the next level, although it will be obvioius that they are strongly attracted to each other.
I have over 8,000 words of the next chapter written, so it promises to be another long one! Dale's death will be discussed in greater detail between B & J (after Brian has to resort to some unusual tactics to get Justin away from his training - ha!).
Thank you again for reading, Sandra, and for taking the time to leave me feedback; your comments really lifted my spirits today! I'll get the next part of this posted very soon. And thank you, also for being so supportive of my stories on an ongoing basis - that is the main motivation for me to keep writing and it is greatly appreciated. *Hugs* ~Kim

Forget it, "Thomas"....loving story line. (but usually feel like that with all your work!). Thanks....follow up soon, PLEASE~!~
Author's Response: Aww...thank you! Your words make me very happy.:) You are kind to take the time to not only read this latest chapter, but to give me encouragement. Your comment made my day!
I have about 8,000 words already written for the next part, and the boys are featured prominently in that one, so I hope you will like it:) It should be posted soon. Thank you again for your kindness.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

Really enjoying your story.
Thanks
Author's Response: Thank you so much for letting me know, Nirdayoga! I am happy to hear that you're enjoying it. This is my first teenage B and J story, and I'm having a lot of fun placing Brian in places that make him decidedly uncomfortable.:) He certainly is NOT a country boy, but I think a certain blond is making it a lot more pleasant.:) I have a lot of the next chapter written - it should be posted very soon. Thank you again for reading and for taking the time to comment - I really appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi, Kim!
"douting-Thomas'? Why are you doubting yourself? Your writing and your stories are wonderful. You have really great imagination and I alwasy enjoy reading all the wonderful adventures the boys get to experience through your ideas. Never doubt yoursef!
As for this chapter - it was pretty informative, though I do hope to learn a bit more about Dale's death. I wonder how Brian will help his aunt and uncle heal from the pain of their loss.
This country social is promising to be quite interesting and I hope B/J will get some quality time together.
Cheers,
Vin
Author's Response: HI, my dear friend - thank you for the encouragement. You know how I am - I get into this occasional 'pity party' funks and just need a little validation that my writing doesn't disappoint, so I thank you for the support! You WILL learn more about Dale's death in the next chapter from Justin and the boys will be back to their give and take parrying as well. I think you will enjoy Brian's tactics at getting Justin's attention in the next chapter, also.:) They will actually see each other again before the social, and yes, Brian will be there in all his glorious self! Thank you again for the kind words, Vin.:) I'm so glad that we met and are friends. I hope one day soon we can do it again! After tackling the Big Apple, I don't feel so intimated by going there, so I would definitely do it again one day! Maybe we can go see Randy in OHP or Wicked - or both! Take care and talk to you soon. *Hugs* ~Kim
P.S. We must think alike because I just sent you an email that I promised you.:)

How can you have a 'doubting-Thomas' funks you have only written 10 chapters and already you have 132 reviews? Your one of the best authors here and you have 4 stories on the go at once, one can only inspire to be so talented. OMG the chicken thing took me back to when my mum made me catch the hens that had gotten into the neighbour’s yard. I hated them beforehand and I still hated them afterwards. I think it scarred my psyche for life. You know how much I like this fic and I can’t wait for the boy’s night out. Thank you for two chapters so close together what a treat.
Cheers
Author's Response: Aww...thank you, Flossee, for all those kind words; that means so much to me. I don't know - I go through this cycles from time to time, pathetic I know.:) Thank you for the moral support; I really appreciate that.
It sounds like a lot of readers have had some 'not-so-pleasant' fowl experiences - ha! I still live out in a rural-enough area that you can see chickens strutting around someone's yard as you drive by. We don't have any here, but we DO have plenty of deer, fox, turkeys, skunks, coyotes, etc.
I have most of the next part written - and the boys will be in that one a lot together! Thanks again for letting me know you're enjoying the story and for the encouragement. *Hugs* ~Kim

Give me a " K " give me an " I " give me a " M " " GO KIM "

Kim don't doubt yourself, you're a great writer. Love this chapter.
* hugs *
Author's Response: OMG, Marny, but no 'happy dance?' (Just kidding! After this I don't think you could top that one!). Thanks for the virtual hug and cheer. I love the icon, BTW! The boys' tug-of-war will be continuing in the next chapter - Brian pushes, Justin (half) struggles. But at least Brian will get some more answers about how Dale died, though. Thanks so much for all your support, Marny; I'll get the next part up soon, and then I really DO have to go right things with poor Tricky. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi just wanted to say how much i'm enjoying this story so far! Love teenage B&J, cannot wait for the next chapter :D
Author's Response: Thank you, Hannah! I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know. This is the first teenage B & J that I've written, but I'm really enjoying playing up some of Brian and Justin's insecurities that they would have at that age. I'll get the next part up very soon; thank you again for the feedback! *Hugs* ~Kim

Hey hey! I feel like it has been forever since I got a chance to even read anything on here! I had a few moments tonight and read the chapters I missed on here. Don't doubt this story at all! I love it! I'm glad we finally learnt about Dale's death and I can't wait to see the next Brian and Justin scene! Keep up the great work my friend!
Author's Response: Hi, Stephanie! It's so great to hear from you! How are you? Hope everything is going well for you.:) I'm so glad that you were able to catch up on this story and that you're still enjoying it:)
The boys will be displayed prominently in the next part, and Brian will persuade his little blond obsession to explain how Dale died; I think you'll be amused with how he goes about getting his attention this time.:) Thank you for reading and for the encouragement, Stephanie; I appreciate that so much. I'll get the next part posted very soon.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

hey Kim - now that you have me hooked, I get more and more drawn in with each chapter! ;)
I am so looking forward to watching how each relationship here changes and grows - Sarah and Brian...Will and Brian...Sarah and Wil...Brian and Justin...Justin and Craig...even Justin and Dale and what may have at least been a kinship based on mutual interest and indeed could have been even more (Sarah seemed to recognize something that would seem to be out of her sphere of knowledge...unless she had seen it in action once before perhaps?) - while their relationship obviously cannot grow, it can impact those around them and how they react to situations at hand
I just love multi-layer stories like this-giving us something in addition to simply the raw sexual energy that of course feeds our craving for B&J action - you know I can't wait until they get down to b'ness - yet sending us off at the end of each chapter with so much more
chin up Kim - I'm loving this story and always anxiously look for the next update
Charle
Author's Response: Hi, Charle! I adore your thoughtful comments and am so grateful for your ongoing support, my friend.:) I CAN do PWP at times (honest - ha!), but as you well know I tend to write on the more angsty side as well as long as I can get my favorite two guys together eventually. Love the UST, too.:) There will be a lot of interaction between Brian and Justin in the next part; I should be posting that very soon and then I just have to get back to poor Tricky and the political backstabbing in "Heart's Desire."
Thank you again for indulging me in my 'pity party' and being so supportive.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

This was such a sweet chapter, I guess I'm going to let everyone live this time. I still think Uncle Will is skating on thin ice but grief is difficult to deal with. I was hoping for a more tragic end of life event for poor Dale, it sounds so accidental and unplanned. I love the whole chicken adventure. I wonder if Brian will eventually bond with the flock. I can so see him going out to sit a spell and watch them eat bugs. It would be very relaxing for Brian and I bet he would learn to enjoy the comfort of a nice hen sitting on his shoulder. I wonder if Sarah will save a few eggs and keep them ungunked up with that slime for deviled eggs. To me there is nothing better than a plain boiled egg, actually I even go a step further an only eat the white part, the yolk is just too yellow. I guess it goes without saying that I want the balck berries plain too, why make them all mushy and cooked they tasted best fresh picked, just knock off the bugs and any trace amounts of dirt.
I hope you know that I am enjoying this story, I can't wait for B&J to meet up again. Will it be at the town gathering? Ice Cream party, with only one spoon? I'm sure it will be homemade hand cranked and made with fresh cream. Lori
Author's Response: Well, Lori, I can tell you have some country blood in you.:) Not everyone is comfortable with the phrase "sit a spell" unless you've been watching Beverly Hillbillies reruns on ME TV - ha! Not sure if Brian is interested in becoming 'henpecked,' so I don't look for him to be picketing KFC anytime soon with a lament to spare his friends from being extra crispy.
You will be glad to know that Brian will make good use of his blackberries in the next chapter (that's all I'm going to say - pfffft)....And there WILL be a town social, but will the boys meet up before then? You will find out very soon, because I have most of the next part written already. Thank you as always for the ingenious comments - I look forward to each and every one of them. No one reviews like you, Lori! *Hugs* ~Kim

Now it's becoming more clear, Will is afraid Sarah is trying to replace Dale by having Brian around and he isn't too happy about it.
I think after awhile though, Brian will have both Justin and Will's hearts.
More soon please. JP
Author's Response: Hi, Tamara! Thank you for reading and for the feedback, my friend! I do think that Brian is a lot like Dale was and that brings back some very sorrowful and painful memories for Will especially. But I think you're right; I also think that Brian will eventually bring back some of the good memories as well for both of them. I'm very happy that you're enjoying this story! I should have another part up very soon before I move onto my other WIPs. Thank you for the support.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

Good god girl-we have missed you. I know you have been working hard on this one. It is very descriptive, as you know thoses are the ones I like the best. I think aunt Sarah is a hoot. The pitcher stall was precious. I think Brian and she will get along very well. He seems to be fitting in much better and losing his arrogance somewhat. Went on Randy's site and heard an interview he did on Rainbow radio. It was wonderful-it seems he misses T.V. and would like to get back on the big screen. Wouldn't that be a great thing. Y ou probably know all this already-just saying. The peeps are all doing well. BB is single again--just too fussy. Too set in his ways. HA! Lee really good, has a new person of interest in his life. He is still house sitting as Nonie is still away. Things there aren't doing well. She calls me often to keep me updated. Just a matter of time now. Hospital so busy-running ragged most of the time, but that's what we do. lol
Author's Response: Hi, lindc! Always so wonderful to hear from you.:) I'm glad to hear that things are going well, but sorry to hear about Nonie and her loved one. At least she is there; I'm sure that is a great comfort to her. It's so great to have all of you together again once more; I'm sure that you feel the same way. And glad to hear the both Brian and Lee are doing well in their new digs and their new jobs. You are all so special to me.:)
I did hear the interview Randy gave; I was shocked to hear about his mother! How sad. I think we all know now whose wedding ring he wears around his neck; very sweet and touching. I had actually seen her at "Tommy" in July of 2011. I would be thrilled if Randy WOULD find another TV show - would love to see him on a regular basis. I keep having these recurring fantasies that he's Rachel's new voice coach on Glee - ha!
As far as the story goes, I will definitely have more of B and J in the next part together; you won't believe how Brian gets his neighbor's attention! Thank you once more for all your support, lindc. It means so much to me. Give Lee and Brian my best.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

Oh! I have been waiting for this update. Love all this back story-gets my juices flowing. I thought, in my infinite wisdom, ha ha this had something to do with sulky racing as to how Dale died. Sarah surley is on the ball-she and Brian make an evil twosome. All the things you have incorporated-berry picking-collecting the eggs just takes me back to my wonderful childhood with my grandparents. So much fun. I really loved driving the horses when my gramps went haying. This was before all the new machinery they have now. They were not wealthy people money-wise, but wonderful hard working people. I want to thank you so much for the story. Will be waiting for the town social. Maybe the boys will get together. I think it's time.
Author's Response: Hi, Kym! Thank you very much for your lovely comments. I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying this story. All my relatives came from Kentucky, so I can relate as well, at least to a certain extent. I'm delighted that it brings back good memories for you, too, and I'm having a lot of fun picturing Brian in so many unusual and unfamiliar settings.
The boys will definitely be together in the next chapter; I think you'll get a kick out of the methods that Brian uses to get Justin's attention. They will actually be spending some time together before the social, and Emmett is about to make an appearance as well as Vic's nephew. Thank you again for the feedback, Kym; I really do appreciate it. I'll have the next part up again very soon. *Hugs* ~Kim
