I dont know how I managed to miss this story but apparently I did. Just finished reading it. Absolutely loved it. Such a change to see Brian in a vulnerable state, even though you tried to hide him behind his usual brash, snarky self. You put just enough angst to keep me reading late into the night. Few moments of tears as well. Have always enjoyed your writing and hope to see more of it. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.
Author's Response: Hi, Susan! Thank you for reading this story and for your kind words. I always love to get feedback, no matter how old the story, and this one was one of my favorites to write. I'm so glad you liked it. I still love these boys and love writing about them. I have several new story ideas that I have started on, so hopefully one day I will get one completed. Thanks again for reading this one and especially for taking the time to leave your encouraging comments; I really appreciate that. :) ~Kim

Ehi Kim! Here I am, religiously waiting for the end of your story....just to make you know I'm supporting you...step by step ;)
Author's Response: Hi, Ersilia! How kind of you to stop in just to let me know that you are waiting to read this. That is so nice of you, and is great to hear. I AM getting close. I'm thinking a few more chapters. So I do hope you will be able to read it soon. Thanks again for all the support.;) *Hugs* ~Kim

Holy spaghetti!
I can't even say how good this story is!!! Thank you for the update!!! It would look good on screen! When you are done please change the names and sell it to a good director. I'd participate in crowd funding for that one.
Author's Response: Hello, Edda! Wow, thank you so much for the compliment! I am thrilled by how much you are enjoying the story.;) I am having a lot of fun writing Brian as a younger character in a rather strange world (at least for him), as well as developing his relationship with his aunt and uncle. I still have quite a bit to write, but hopefully since I'm down to only two WIPs at the moment, that will help me to get this updated again a lot faster.:)
Thank you for bearing with me in between updates, and continuing to read this story. It WILL be completed. And thank you for the feedback! I greatly appreciate that. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi Kim, my thoughts are still with you and your mom, big hug to you both!!
I saw that you started to update this ff, I'm so excited about the story. I started reading, can't wait he's finished!! Greeting Elly xx
Author's Response: Thank you, Elly. You are so kind. She is having a very hard time without her soul mate. I can't imagine being married to someone at 17 and almost being with them for 60 years. Amazing love story. I feel so heartbroken for her.
Thank you for your support, my friend. *Hugs* ~Kim

After a long hiatus ( boring RL stuff :) ), i'm back to doing one of my fav things, reading your BJ fic and I'm thrilled to find multiple chapters waiting for me :)
Loved all the chapters, i'm very happy about how their relationship is progressing and that J is holding out, refusing to be a drunken roll in the hay. Can't wait for the town social, and for Emmet to show up, what Jared is concocting,..in short can't wait for the next chapter....
Happy writing :)
Author's Response: Hi, Kimi! I'm so glad to see you back! I'm delighted to hear from you again, and to know that you're reading my stories once more. I'm having a lot of fun writing this teenage Brian story, and trying to keep him in character even when he is sooo out of element - ha! I will definitely be updating this one soon, but first I need to get the other two WIPs updated. Thanks so much for reading this one and for the comments. Welcome back! *Hugs* ~Kim

OMG!! Can you believe I'm just settling down to this story NOW??? Hope you give you some good feedback as I go along. Good start so far!
Author's Response: Where have you been, Mister??? I've been missing you - I just figured you had an allergy to hay and blueberry cobbler so you were avoiding this one..... I just hope I didn't shame you into reading it, though - ha! And I don't want to be responsible for you not updating your own story, either (hint, hint). I do hope you enjoy it. It has just a little of the same type of humor as "Roughing It," mixed in with some drama, so I do hope you like it. Thanks for reading and for the comment, Jon. *Hugs* ~Kim

Oh, lord. When I think of he number of times I've done exactly the jobs you have Brian doing here... I actually learned to hate eggs. We had a very...possessive little Rhodie red hen who didn't take well to me trying to rob the 'ladies' of their eggs. I've sometimes imaged how many expletives could have been translated out of all that sqawking and clucking she tongue lashed me with. LOL Probably would have made Brian sound like a preacher by comparison.
This story brings back so many memories, Predec. Although I didn't grow up in the sulkie circle, I loved to watch the races at the county fair when we could afford to go. My father, uncles and grandfather were deep pit coal miners (channeling my inner Loretta Lynn, here) and anyone who owned something more elegant than a mule was considered wealthy!
Thanks for the memories. I'm loving the twist on my own history here.
Roni
Author's Response: Hi, Roni - I'm very flattered that you're reading my story and enjoying it.:) I'm having fun putting Brian in these totally uncomfortable positions and having him place his own unique spin on them.:) My grandmother lived in Kentucky on an old farmhouse on 40 acres, so a lot of what's going on here I can certainly relate to; she had an outhouse for a long time, along with a train track practically out her front door. Like you, it all brings back fond memories even now.
Thank you so much fo reading and for the comments, Roni; I really appreciate it. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi,
I've been trolling MW for some Bj fic and i found this, and I'm lovin' it :)
Teenage BJ in an isolated farm setting sounds refreshing and delicious, if u know what i mean LOL.....
I esp would like to read more about Justin and his horse, that's interesting and of course alot of BJ loving... Looking forward to your updates...
Happy writing...
Kimi
Author's Response: Hi, Kimi! It's amazing to me how many readers on here (or at least the ones reading my stories) have some variation of my name, but I LOVE it - LOL! THANK YOU very much for reading and for the lovely comments! That is always so motivating for me as a writer.:) I'm very glad you're enjoying this tale of a teenage Brian and Justin; it's the first one I've written with them at a younger age, so I was a little apprehensive about that.
As far as Justin and "Headstrong," you will learn a little more about him in the next part, which I should be posting later today. And you will also soon learn a little more about the details surrounding Dale's death, which continues to affect Brian's uncle greatly. And do not fear - it will take me a little while to get to B and J drawing closer together, but I'm definitely heading in that direction. There will be some more interaction between them in the next chapter, as a matter of fact.
I hope you continue to enjoy this story, Kimi, and will check out some of my others as well.:) Thank you again for reading and for the wonderful comments; I am very appreciative.:) *Hugs* ~Kim

I almost feel like I have you in my power, I just say the word update and like magic one appears! I thought your description of the old farm house was amazing. I grew up in a farming community and know that type of home so well. The way you can add such detail to a story and not bog it down it a real gift.
I think this Brian has a lot of growing to do before he can be ready for a loving relationship. I can't wait to see how it happens. I have a feeling Dale's dog will play a part in breaking down some of those walls as well as the shy blond neighbor. Your updates are always worth the wait. Lori
Author's Response: Hi, Lori; what wonderful comments; thank you so much, my friend! I'm so glad you're enjoying this story! You are very perceptive - one of the main tenets to this plot is the change in maturity I see Brian undergoing under his aunt and uncle's wing. He will most definitely resist the authority placed upon him and will still act out for a while. But I suspect he will eventually be evolving into someone more responsible. That being said, though, he won't change some things; he will still be the same self-confident bastard he is right now in a lot of ways or it wouldn't be Brian.:)
I'm going to have fun with the dinner - there will definitely be some sibling rivalry going on, and Justin may find himself on the outside looking in temporarily. But something tells me that a certain brunet will find him very hard to resist eventually. Now if you could just say 'next chapter of My Heart's Desire' is done and it would magically appear, that would be great - LOL! I'm going to update that one first before moving onto "Parent Trap" so I can resolve that whodunnit. Thanks again, Sweetie, for reading and for all your support! I appreciate that very much. I'll get this updated very soon. *Hugs* ~Kim

Finally I am reviewing one of your stories as it is written!!! I have discovered many of the others after completition. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this chapter and the introduction to Brian's new living arrangements. I am already having fantasies about tumbles in the hay! Looking forward to reading more soon. Love Kate xxxx
Author's Response: Hi, Kate! First of all, thank you for having faith in me to complete my stories; as I've mentioned before I am religious about completing each one that I write, so rest assured I will always so that. I feel a big responsibility to complete each one that I start.:) And secondly, thank you for the kind words on this story - you are right, BTW; I've been having fantasies about the same thing in the stables (anyone up for a little 'riding?' - ha!).
I DO think that Brian may take the easy route at first and go after Jared who is more like him in temperament and attitude; but ultimately I think he will realize just how special Justin is and then this particular stallion's heart will be firmly captured by the younger Taylor boy.:) In the meantime, expect some angst as Justin winds up being shunted aside just a bit until everything gets straightened out...:)
Thanks again for all your support of my stories, Kate! I will do my best not to let you and the other readers down. *Hugs* ~Kimberly

What a treat to find this new story! Hmm, Justin has an older brother....
Author's Response: Hi, Sweetie! So glad to see you checking this new story out! Yes, I was going to wait, but I kept looking at my new banner and I finally couldn't stand it anymore - ha! I will be wrapping up "Paper Hearts Killer" very soon, though, so I'm hoping my readers will bear with me until it's done and I can update all the others faster. I WILL be updating this one regularly though just like all my others.:)
So great to know you'll be checking it out! Thanks so much for all the support, my friend; I really appreciate it. *Hugs* ~Kimberly

Love the start and I'm kinda wondering why he is getting into all this trouble. please come back soon!!!!!!!!!
Author's Response: Hi, Courtney! Welcome to Midnight Whispers, by the way! Thank you for reading and for taking the time to comment! In this story I see Brian as more of a mischief maker getting into minor scrapes with the law while a juvenile before he stole the car for his 'joy ride.' So nothing too serious but just enough to get him into some trouble and to send him off for 'rehabilitation' - ha! But we all know it won't be that easy....He WILL find himself growing in maturity in this unlikely of places, though...partly through his aunt and uncle's influence but also due to a certain blond who happens to live next door to them (hmm...wonder who that could be?) LOL!
I promise to update this one soon, and in case you don't know - I have NEVER left a story incomplete and never plan to ever do that, so I will, indeed, update this one regularly and finish it! Thanks again for the feedback, Courtney! Hope to hear from you again. *Hugs* ~Kimberly

Author's Response: Thank you for reading and for the encouragement! I really appreciate that.:) I will definitely get the next chapter up soon and like all my other stories it will most definitely be completed. Thank you for taking the time to leave me feedback; I am very grateful.:) *Hugs* ~Kimberly

yay! i absolutely LOVE stories when Brian and Justin are teenagers/same age! and knowing how awesome of a writer you are, i know this will be an incredible story! update soon!
Maddie
Author's Response: Aww...thanks, Maddie, I'm so happy that you like the story idea! Yes, I thought I would give this a try; Brian will be just a little older than Justin - I see him as nineteen and Justin as seventeen. I see this as a multi-chaptered fic so I'm glad to see you'll be along for the ride. Thanks for all the support of my stories, my friend; I really appreciate that! I'm about to post the next part of "Paper Hearts" tonight as soon as I finish proofreading it, BTW, in case you're following that one as well. Hope you like it! Thanks again!:) *Hugs* ~Kimberly

I am already in love with this story. I'm from Tennessee and it will be nice to read a story that takes place fairly close to home, even if I live down next to Alabama, lol! I'm looking forward to the next chapter and hope it's up soon.
Author's Response: Hi, Stephanie, my friend! Thanks for the comments, Sweetie! I live in Ohio but I was born in Kentucky and have a lot of relatives still there, so I hope I can do all the descriptions justice.:) So glad to see that you will be following this one. I do hope you continue to enjoy it.:) I promise to get this updated again very soon. Thanks again for reading and for all the support; I am very grateful.:) *Hugs* ~Kimberly

Interesting premise. Can't wait to read how he meets Justin and the shenanigans the two will get into.
Should be fun.
Cheers,

Author's Response: Hi, Vin! Thanks for reading, my friend.:) I should be posting the last few chapters of "Paper Hearts" very soon so I thought I could handle one more on here.:) Hope you'll continue to read and I hope we get the chance to meet next Saturday at Randy's play - looking forward to it! looks good.wheres whiney mikey
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and for the comment! Do we really need "His Whininess" with this story? Ack, I hope not - ha! Hopefully readers won't mind if I just sort of overlook him; he had his moments on the show, I suppose, but honestly he was one of my least-favorite characters on there, so I tend to avoid him if at all possible in my stories - LOL! Thanks again for the feedback; I'll get this updated again very soon:)

This is great. I've seen the movie April Love once when I was a kid and never forgotten the story. I got excited when I saw your banner and I am looking forward to this one.
Author's Response: Ha! You're onto me.:) Yes, that is the inspiration for it, with a uniquely 'Brian Kinney' twist. Hope you enjoy it.:) Thanks so much for the comments! I will get this udpated very soon. *Hugs*

First: Don't worry about me, I'm doing fine. I'm a little busy with the divorce and looking for a job * sigh *.
Second: This will be another great story, I can feel it. Love it already.
Third: Please don't update this new story, I need updates of "the paper hearts killer" and "the parent trap" LOL * is begging * .
* big hug *
Author's Response: Ha! I will be posting the next chapter of "Paper Hearts" probably later today; but I should warn you, you're going to hunt me down after you read it, because it ends on a horrendous cliffhanger! I have to get you to come back for more, though, don't I? And I've started on the next part of "Parent Trap," too, so it is definitely up next.:) Thanks as always for your comments, my friend. Oh my, what a lovely surprise! I wasn't expecting a new story, and this premise is just delightful. I do understand the impulse, though. I am forcing myself not to get started on my new project. We'll see how long that lasts, though... most especially when I go on vacation next week. Ha!
I am hooked already, my friend. And no, Brian... I don't think this will be the worse summer of your life. =)
So excited for more of this! ~Hugsss!~
Author's Response: Hi, dear friend! I tried hard to resist the pull but I kept looking at the banner I made and finally thought with "Paper Hearts" winding down fairly soon that I could handle one more.:) Thanks as always for the encouragement. Can't wait to write about Brian trying to live on a farm - ha! Hope you have a wonderful vacation - I'll be going to see Randy next Saturday in his new play - can't wait! Talk to you soon.:) *Hugs*

well now! i kew something would be coming-i thought paper hearts. what do we have here. a new story!! i knew you would post something new soon. i didn't see a 19 year old brian in the mix, but here he is. i don't somehow think it will be the worst summer of his life tho. will you be posting ph before you go to see RED? i really wish i could go this play received rave reviews with another cast some time ago. I see gale will be doing some plays somewhere-don't know what or when or where. i would really like to see him again. everything is good here busy-still on 36 off 36/ this will be on-going til april i guess. lol
Author's Response: Hi, dear! I tried hard not to start another one, but this story has been percolating in the back of my mind for some time so I decided to let it out - ha! To answer your question, YES! I actually have the next chapter of "Paper Hearts" written already, but I'm waiting for my beta to look it over and send it back to me. I'm hoping to get it posted sometime tomorrow. And I've started on the next part of "Parent Trap." Hopefully I'll get that posted, too, before I leave next Saturday the 18th. Can't wait to see the play! He's been getting very flattering reviews and I know he's only one of two actors on stage the entire time, so I know I'll get to see him a lot - woohoo! Fourth-row seats, too - yay!
The ironic part of this is that "Red" actually played in my hometown back in November, but Randy wasn't in it - grrrr!!! Oh, well - I'd rather travel to New Jersey to see HIM than see the play locally without HIM in it! I wish you could go, too. I may go see it again when it comes to Cleveland at the end of March, but I'm waiting to hear back from a friend as to whether she can go or not. Don't want to drive five hours up there by myself!
Don't know how you all work those 36/36 shifts, but I'm grateful that you do.:) Thanks again for all the support, lindc! Tell everyone I said hello, my friend.:) *Hugs* Kimberly
