Yea!! I'm so glad this chapter is in! I thought it was great, especially the part where Justin is thinking back on his treatment of Brian. Justin is very protective of Brian, he really doesn't want to hurt him; either physically or emotionally. That's why he talks everything through with Brian first, plus I think that's the only way to do it if you want a sucessful relationshiip of any kind, but especially one like this.

Yeah, it is amazing. They had already talked about it, Justin knew what Brian wanted, but he can't let his sub think that he can get what he wants. the punishment has to fit the 'crime', and it is a punishment.
He had to learn that what he did at the diner was not something Justin could accept.
If Justin had given him the punishment he wanted, who's to say he wouldn't do the same thing again to try and get the same punishment?
Justin has to be in total control or Brian will lose faith in him as his Dom and the whole Dom/sub relationship would collapse.
Does that make sense?

Your writing is fresh and you handle conversations very real to life, I like that in a story. Not a Michael fan so that's another plus for me. But... Wow. Research is the key to anything in life. Remember this. My parents were into Dom/sub living long before I was born. There are so many errors here it's scary. Major freak of mine, people read stuff on the internet and believe it's true. One never uses a private name in public, never in front of someone not living the life. One never explains their personal business to others. It's private--it stays private, if you do discuss it with family and friends you should always talk about the lifestyle, not your own private lives. NEVER. Discussing it with too many people who could never understand the lifestyle is hazardous to your life, you could lose family and friends doing this. And as for collaring ceremonies the attendents are usually other's who live the life. It's not a marriage ceremony at all, totally different meaning. Living a scene 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week all you end up with are two neurotic human beings. Can't be done, shouldn't be done. It would put astronomical pressure on one partner and cause self doubt in the other. Eat or drink...unless you are in a scene you never control your partners wants and desires, and dom/som is always done in scenes, you plan, you find out what's okay and whats not before you do it. This is almost comic book in it's self. You have Justin almost telling Brian how to think, how to feel, how to everything, it isn't done, it can't be done. Research, please research. VAL452
Author's Response: First, thanks for the compliment. Second; I know you can't live the life 24/7. This is fiction! Besides Justin has absolutely no say in what Brian does when at work. He has told him to be respectful at all times, but that's all. Brian runs his businesses without any kind of interference from Justin. I only had Justin use Brian's sub name in front of Jennifer to illustrate a point. She had no idea what the BDSM lifestyle is all about, so Justin did a little demonstration, partly as part of Brian's punishment. I never had any hope that this would be 100% factual. I'm just trying to write a good story, I'm sorry if I have offended you or anybody else in any way, that was never my intention.

I have always been a huge fan of your writing, but this story, well, it's just not for me I guess. I just feel that "living" in a dom/sub relationship 24/7 is unrealistic, especially for someone like Brian. To just decide one day to change everything about Brian's personality (not being rude to anyone, asking for permission to do anything everyday) well, it would all be too much too soon. Plus the few people that I have talked to in real life and on the web when discussing sub/dom fanfic all say the same thing, in real life there is no possible way to live it 24/7 the pressure, mental and physical would be too much. And it's never done in their professional life. Usually a time is picked to "play" and it's never taken out of that time period. I'll just wait for your next story and pass on the BDSM sub/dom stories. Thank you.
Author's Response: That's ok. Brian hasn't taken it in to his professional life, other than having to be respectful, but that isn't really necessary in order for him to do his job. There are plenty of bosses who are respectful to their employees and are still successful. He hasn't just decided one day to do this, he has been thinking about it for quite some time, just never done anything about it, until he realised he trusted Justin enough.
