I just finished your story and I have to say I really enjoyed reading it. The idea of Justin forgetting about Ethan and the way Brian acted towards him was so caring and adorable. I'm glad that there is nothing physically wrong with J. From what I've read, the majority of selective amnesia cases are due to emotional reasons rather than physical, so it's not surprising that this fits J's case as well.
I sympathize with both B & J about Ian. J's a sensitive guy and doesn't want to hurt anyone, but I also agree with B take on the situation. If you're an ethical person, you don't get in the middle of a relationship that is still active, no matter how rocky.
I liked the epilogue and am especially glad that B and Vance parted ways. This way Kinnetik could be born.
Author's Response: The thing is, when I started this I had no idea how Justin lost his memory, but this scenario appealed to me, because I think that he could be so guilt ridden about leaving Brian if he had remeberd when he was with Ian that it could have made him forget.
Justin doesn't want to deliberately hurt anybody, which is why he had to talk to the fiddler himself. Brian does have a point, you just don't interfer in other people's relationships!

I'm so enjoying both campaigns (the negative one more though *g*). These kinds of projects bring people together and I bet the gang learn so much about each other as well.
I'm glad that J got all his memories back. It happened when it was supposed to for both of them. It wouldn't have happened if B hadn't changed enough to be open with J about his feelings. And J needed the security of B's love so his mind could deal with the facts of their history together.

I'm so glad that J raised the issue of Deb's attitude toward B and how it makes him feel. The way he did it, B couldn't really object and neither could Deb. Hopefully, Deb won't have a long learning curve and then she can teach the others!
In the show, I loved their secret collaboration to defeat Stockwell. There is still the element of secrecy in B guiding the family in their campaign against Stockwell, but the rest of the competition between the candidates is above board and best of all will be paid for by the candidates.

Author's Response: Exactly, he never said anything about the way she makes Brian feel, that way she could just accept that it bothered Justin and then try to change , at least when he is around.
I loved that too, it was really too bad that Brian was so damn focused on getting the hell away from Justin with the fiddler that he took on such an asshole for a client on the show. That never really sat well with me. The fact that they aren't doing anything even remotely illegal or even morally questionable was what attracted me to this plan when it popped up in my head :)

Loved the show and tell. It's really great that they have such good memories of their vacation.
The memory of the Vermont debacle (sigh). I'm glad that B is open enough now to explain all of what happened with his job. Although I never quite understood why B never told J that his job was on the line...?
I'm glad that J too got to clear the air about how he was feeling after the bashing and his insecurity of his importance in B's life. I think if J had known that B did visit him in the hospital every night, he wouldn't have felt quite so in need of B's reassurance and the 'hearts and flowers'.
Loved the hot end of this chapter and had to smirk right along with B, when he caught J licking his lips. That so much reminds me of the insatiable, pre-prom J. Lol.

I sympathize with their irritability with each other. The early rise required (it's almost not worth going to bed) for the disgustingly early flight and then all the waiting around at many uninteresting airports, instead of actually flying to get somewhere, annoys me the most. I used to fly/travel quite a bit, but since 9/11/2001, I find myself whining like Mikey if I have to fly anywhere, especially when traveling for work. Lol.
At least they have a beautiful destination and each other to look forward to.

I had no doubt that J would ace his exams, especially with B as his coach. They're both very smart cookies.
Aw, poor Ian. Maybe he's now figured out that he never stood a chance really, especially not against a B that is willing to fight for what he has with J.
I almost choked on my drink, along with J, when B admitted to the gang that J topped him. It had to totally rock their image of J still being a kid and what they think the relationship is between B/J. If B didn't respect J and didn't think of him as an equal, I don't think B would bottom for J. I think that's probably what bothers Mikey so much, is knowing how much more B cares and respects J than him.

B did an excellent redo of J's birthday party. He also chose the perfect gifts for J, getting the PIFA exam info and the trip. J always wanted to go away somewhere with B, just the two of them, without the BFK 'image' and the gang constantly horning in.
I'm glad that B was watching out for Michael to say something and stopped him before he could start. I always get annoyed that the rest of the family is so oblivious to Michael's nasty side, especially Ben.
Nice that B alluded to the difficulties between he and J during the 7 months and that he regrets them. So, if/when J regains his memory he will know that and why things are different now.
Lovely and hot way to end the evening, typical of B/J.

Glad PIFA is taken care of...just wonder what happened to J there to cause the blackout.
I'm curious what B will give to J for his b-day. After the fiasco with the hustler, anything would be an improvement and I think B definitely learned that lesson.

Just started reading this one and I must say I like the premise of the story. I'm very intrigued where you will take us with this one.
I'm surprised that Jennifer was relatively calm about J going back to B. I mean the amnesia aside, in the show she was so gungho about Ian and how 'appropriate' he was for J (his age, interests, etc.). Perhaps, she was starting to see that J wasn't really happy with Ian?
Well, B has a chance, if he chooses to take it, to proceed differently with J. I'm curious to see how B decides to handle having J back in his life.

I never really liked Ethan, if you really honor relationships as much as he supposedly does, you don't go after someone who is already in a relationship, regardless of the kind of relationship. He could have been a friend, but to actively persue a sexual relationship is just wrong!

perfect. even the hint of the fiddler didn't dampen it. it was great. brian's trepidation at justin gaining his full memory back or that they'll have to tell him things was good. you could feel it. it will all work out for the best.

Now did we ever have a doubt that our little genius of Sunshine would ace his exams. As Brian would say, smart little fu&%er! ;) Ouch, how badly did it hurt to see Brian and Justin together like that? Well, I hope that he at least can see that those two are bigger than anything he could ever dream of having with Justin. I can't believe Brian admitted in a public place that he lets Justin top him. When Brian puts his heart and mind to something, he's full of surprises. What he did for Justin in regards to his classes was awesome and how cute that he is well aware and proud of Justin's grades! And they are finally going to have that trip together. I hope everything will remain good with them once Justin gets his memory back...if he gets his memory back.

Author's Response: I think Ethan really did care about Justin. He ust has absolutely no idea how to be in a mature dult realationship, to him it was all about hearts and flowers. Not the work it actually requires. Daphne also got that little dig about 'a couple of sketches' in. We all know how much Justin has drawn Brian :-)
