I’m so in love with this story. This is exactly how I pictured post 513 and I so wanna read more.

Reviewer: Carol (Anonymous) · Date: January 28, 2016 07:23 PM · On: Chapter 8 To Have Loved and Lost

Pre rant warning !!!! :) I can't help it but I always seem to have more sympathy with Brian's motivation than Justin's so unsurprisingly at this moment in time I feel like giving Justin a slap and telling him to get over himself. That is not to say I don't understand where he's coming from BUT I'm struggling to see why him 'giving Brian his freedom' with barely a backward glance is so very different from Brian misguidedly pushing him towards the future he felt Justin deserved and yet was about to put at risk? For the one person who could 'read' Brian Justin seems to have accepted what Brian said rather too easily .. and if nothing else that would have reconfirmed Brian's belief that he was doing the right thing. BUT THEN having realised (after viewing Justin's painting) that perhaps Justin isn't as happy as he had previously thought fate steps in and they reconnect, given that chance Brian steps up and out of his comfort zone, completely exposing himself for Justin to see ... and Justin does a runner!!!!! And I can even understand that .. but after having time to think it through, knocking Brian down during the phone call .... not so much. Therein lies the difference between them .. neither one is blameless but Brian always puts Justin first regardless of the personal cost. Justin on the other hand despite now knowing and believing the truth, understanding how hard that would have been for Brian to admit let alone show and loving Brian back .... decides it's not worth the risk to himself. He makes a decision that affects them both based solely on the negative rather than all the positive, after all the empty years he chooses not to forgive .. "Sigh"

I could go on :)  .. Obviously I'm waaaaaaay too involved .. Which says a lot about your skill as a writer. Keep up the good work.

Author's Response:

Wow, Carol! lol. I'm not sure where to start.

First of all - thank you! Your 'rant', as well as your kinds words at the end, show that this story has touched you way down deep - and that makes me feel great.

On the other hand, I am so very sorry for your frustration - and believe me I feel it, too. How very intuitive of you to realize that even when Justin was doing things in love - he always had a rather 'me' focused agenda.

That said - let me assure you that both boys are going to be doing some growing...some learning...and some soul searching.

The next chapter (s) (I may have to split it up into two chapters) are very conversation heavy, but there are things that just need to be said - and I will certainly give your well thought out remarks another read through before I complete it, as we have similar views on some things.

Again, thank you for reading, and responding. Can't wait to hear what you think about the upcoming drama.

To quote Brian....WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK JUSTIN! In a way I understand him, but on the other hand I wish he would stop running away all the time.

Author's Response:

I know JP - I hear your frustration...and Brian's, too! Unfortunately, the road to getting these two back together won't run smoothly right away, but rest assured..it will come. Hope you don't give up on us! It'll be worth the wait.

thanks

He's not going to get back right away because Justin need to know that he's that he's change and that he happy and he hasn't done it because of him but they be happy in the end hopefully because there better together and that's where we what so can't wait until they are relly like this cool

Author's Response:

You are so right Who. Justin won't be easy to convince - but there is no doubt that he loves this man - and they ARE better together - always have been - always will be.

Glad you liked it. Keep on reading and let me know what you think. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and respond.

Where to start.  Brian finally told Justin how he felt and Justin threw it back in his face.  Not good.  Then Mikey calls and starts his shit.  What do you have planned for them next?

Author's Response:

oh yumyum...I feel your pain, and that you are not liking where this story is going. All I can say is hang in there if you can. It may hurt now, but thest best rewards have a little pain along the way.

Justin won't make it easy for Brian - so Brian may have a little bit of angst ahead yet, that's a given, but we all know the boys will find there way. Nothing else is an option.

thank you for reading and responding - your opinion matters!

Oh, no! I feel so sad for Brian (and for Justin too). :(

Maybe Brian should take a page out of Justin's book and try stalking him. If he has Justin's address, he could also send gifts to pique his interest and help him get past his fear of reentering a relationship with Brian.

I hope a brilliant plot to regain Justin occurs to Brian before he drinks himself into a stupor. I don't think his tried and true methods of pain management will work any longer. Will he be so foolish as to try a drunken confrontation?

C'mon, Justin. It's your turn to take a chance on love. Be brave!

I loved Cynthia in this chapter. She is a great friend to Brian (much better than that so-called best friend).

Author's Response:

I know eureka...I feel your sadness. Now I wonder if you are inside my head! lol

I'm so glad you liked Cynthia...and we will encounter another 'true' friend who will make Brian come to his senses and realize he just can't give up. I don't know about stalking per se...but Brian always did go for the grand gestures...didn't he?

It will just take a little more to convince Justin, but who can resister the Kinney charm for long...certainly not our blond.

thank you for taking the time once again to respond...and to let me know there are still folks reading this story

now on to  more writing

ARRRGH!!!! I get why Justin feels the way he does but it's just so.....*swallows the tears* hard to accept. Poor Brian. He's going to have to go some to win Justin back.

Now to deal with Chucky... I mean Mikey.....UGH! I just really wish someone would slap a MUZZLE ON HIS MOUTH. I think I might work on that in one of my own stories (I'll definitely be renaming him Chucky with that 'Best Friend' BS). At least Brian is finally recognizing that Michael only sees what he wants to and not the reality of what IS.

Looking forward to MORE of TBLP!!

Hugs

~Chelle

Author's Response:

Thank you Chelle. Yes, getting Justin back will not be easy, or without trauma...but in the end they will be so much stronger.

As for Mikey...lol...I am still hoping you will gift me with that story containing  Mikey's other new 'name', and all that entails. lol  - I am even ok with him having a little pleasure along with his pain...as long as it changes his attitude and his mouth *wink wink

working on the next chapter as we speak.

BTW - your support is such a treasure to me! thank you

Wow!  That was powerful!  As much as I want to see them together, Justin is right about the Kinney cliff and Brian always needing to be in control.  Make him work for it Justin!  Brian needs to change.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! I know we all want them together as soon as possible, so I am thrilled that you can see where this story needs to go first. Brian has to grow so that these two can be on equal footing...and move forward to happily ever after.  And as much as it pains me to put him through it...it needs to happen.

Thank you do much for taking the time to read and respond.

It makes me want to work even harder to get our boys back where they belong.

What a gut-wrenching chapter! Did Justin leave Brian because he's afraid of Brian abandoning him again? Or, is there something we don't know? I'm guessing yes, since Justin's hurting anyway (as is Brian).

Author's Response:

oh - these two communicate so well with their bodies - just not so much when there is space between them...lol

we all know what's been going on in theis hearts - and their minds - but unfortunately - they don't have a clue - Justin still doesn't know why Brian left - how he feels - what he wants - and most importantly - how Justin could fit in his world - especially withouot losing himself in the process

can they find a way to get past any of that?

thanks for sticking with the story - I always look forward to your comments

oh-  you evil woman-   make up ( well long time separation sex) that is absolutely fantastic only for Justin to leave because they don't talk-  ugh

Author's Response:

I know - don't hate me - but you know these two never do anything the easy way - they have more baggage than a double decker passenger plane! - but even more love than that!

so don't despair - eventually they will find their way

glad you liked the sex though...*wink wink

Hi, Charle! Finally had a chance to catch up on a little reading. As always with your stories, I am enjoying this one, although you were driving me crazy with all those 'near misses!' :)  But finally - at last - they find each other again. I really like how you added little touches of what they remembered about each other, and how certain things reminded them of each other. And I liked the way you described their reunion - the 'touching' of their foreheads was so "B/J."

I will try to keep up now with your entertaining story, and obviously am looking forward to the next part (wink, wink). Very glad to see you posting again!  ~Kim

P.S.  One more (admin) thing - I don't think I saw one of those pesky story disclaimers, so if you could add that, I would appreciate it. Thanks. :)

Author's Response:

Thanks Kim - so glad you found my story, and that you seem to be enjoying it. Now that the boys have found each other, we all know that its about to get very 'touchy'.

BTW - disclaimer is in story notes.

I m loving the overall sense of yearning you're managing to convey .. Justin may not fully appreciate Brian's motives for ending things between them but he doesn't appear to be angry or resentful either. He may not be able to acknowledge it yet but he knows Brian too well not to recognises the sacrifice for what it was. And Brian (sigh) .. Let's be honest, isn't his capacity for self-sacrifice the very essence of what we all love about the man:)

Brian always did sacrifice himself for what he thought Justin needed (aka throwing Justin off a Kinney cliff). Clever that Brian made Justin think he was giving Brian what Brian needed. Foolish Brian though to think that Justin and Justin's art would do better without him.

Author's Response:

He sure does! It always amazes me how much Brian is willing to suffer for those he loves - and he loves Justin more than anyone...except Gus. Poor Brian - he does the wrong thing again and again, but for the right reason.

Having said that, this story is very promising and I think you could do a lot with it.  Very well written and already I am on edge waiting to see how long they continue to torture each other before they get back together......where they belong.

Well done!

Author's Response:

Wow Terri, what an incredible review. You have no idea how much your encouragement means to me! I am thrilled that you are enjoying the story,  and hope that I can live up to your lofty expectations.

I understand your frustration with the boys. lol They belong together, and the sooner they figure that out, the sooner they can grab on to all the joy and pleasure they bring each other. But, you're right, it won't come easy....they are both a little thick...ha ha ha

Thank you so very much for reading and reviewing.

Brian and his noble sense of justice.  You have to get them together and get rid of Rachel while you're at it.  But I love the way you explain why they are not together.

Author's Response:

thank you so much - we know our boys don't we - glad my back story works

of course, eventually the boys will get back  together where they belong - but they are both a little thick-headed so it wont be without a little more angst first

appreciate the kind words

Crying a lot.... 😭

I felt Brian and Justin loneliness.

Great Job!

Keep it up!

We, your readers, will support and encourage you to write more.

God Bless

Author's Response:

hi there - first - I need to apologize - somehow I missed your review before this - and I hate that - I always respond when kind folks like you take the time to let me know how my story touches them, especially a thoughtful one like this!

When someone tells me they can feel the emotion that is the greatest compliment I can receive as an author, and it just means so much.

Thank you so very much for reading and responding, I hope that as we continue you are still loving it as much.

Your encouragement and prayer attached mean more to me than you could know.

OMG!!! So sad. Will these two ever communicate for the good of their relationship. Brian trying, in his own way, to help Justin. As usual it is taken the wrong way. Hopefully things will work out sooner than later.

Author's Response:

I know, right?!?!? this story my muse is definitely taking me way way way outside my angst comfort zone...but I promise I will bring it all around before its over! the boys MUST be together - it WILL happen...after a bit ***wink wink wink

thanks for the great review - love it!

Chelle

Author's Response:

thank you Chelle - yeah - the boys are really in a bad place at the moment - but all will be well - I promise!  (It even made me cry writing it!)

Reading this, my heart breaks for the boys. They really should have communicated better, but then, we wouldn't have anything to write about. Hopefully they won't be apart much longer. Time to write more ;).

Author's Response:

I know what you mean, Lorie - I had tears running down my face as I wrote...but the Sun will shine on our boys again...just not without a bit more angst

writing as we speak...lol

thank you for your constance support and encouragement

"I can't keep our boys apart" jolly good I don't like our boys sad lol

Author's Response:

awww - son't worry - there may be lots of angst in this story - and the boys won't come together easily - but be assured - their sadness will be turned around - and they will be together in the end!

thanks for your response and support

So nice to see you writing again. I, so, enjoy your stories. This one is going to be good, full of angst and finally happy for all. Hope this is updated soon and often.

Author's Response:

Off to a great start.
He seems happy, but he's lonely. The doorman is only going to take the edge off for the night.
Wonder what Justin's doing?

Author's Response:

oh we'll find out soon enough - and you know we won't let Brian be lonely too long!

glad you like the beginning - and hope you like what's to come even more!

thank you for reading and responding

A good start! I wonder why they split. And I hope they will meet soon. They should be wiser and know that individually they are sucessful and powerful, but only together they can be truly happy.

Author's Response:

hey Astrid - I agree they should know better by now - but boys will be boys - and they have to learn the hard way...all will be revealed along the way.Hope you continue to enjoy.

thanks for reading and responding

Ahha.  I wonder if something is going to come up to mess with Brian's plans?

Author's Response:

***wink wink...anything could happen, especially in New York, right?

thank you for your response

Author's Response:

hello my friend - thanks for the read and response - Justin is up next - and not any more content with his life than Brian.

these two will never learn that they are only great together...why don't they ask us?

lol

So HAPPY you are posting again! So sad that Brian is feeling the weight of his decisions five years ago. Hopefully change is just around the corner for him. Looking forward to more of this!

Hugs

~Chelle

Author's Response:

thanks Chelle

yes - hindsight often leads to regret - and our Brian now knows that regret is another broken Kinney rule
