Refreshing take on Justin not to spend his life brooding over Brian.
It's also refreshing to see some concern for Michael from Brian. Yes he was that way in canon but in fics he usually forgets anyone but Justin exists.
But it's been a little while since this fic was updated. Really, really hope that you plan to continue it. I mean, we still have an impending wedding and Michael's diagnosis to get through.

I like how you are not making Josh out to be a total jerk. At least not so far. His hostile reaction to Brian is understandable given that the love of his fiance's life calls shortly before his wedding. And he did give Justin the message. Some people in his position wouldn't even do that.
I also find Michael's mystery illness a bit compelling. But Michael seems to be all kinds of stupid here. Good detail about a high viral load making HIV transmission a bigger threat.

Maybe it's just me, but I can see Justin's point. I don't understand why Daphne feels Justin needs to take all the crap that Brian dishes out because he's so gorgeous or that he loves him.

Poor Michael. Why didn't he go get tested as soon as it happened if he didn't want to die?
Don't feel the need to apologize for the inclusion of Michael in this story. You can't just have a tale made up completely of Brian and Justin. Well you can but it would be unrealistic even in fanfiction. There is a whole world out there and unless they decide to become hermits, Brian and Justin must interact with it.

I think it is a mental thing. He's afraid to hear what he had suspected all the time. Sometimes, people don't want to hear the truth and pretending that everything is fine. Michael already lost Vic, who was HIV+, Ben and Hunter are + too and he knows what it means to have this disease.

Whoa....that's a hell of a bomb to drop. Even though I'm not the biggest Mikey supporter, I still hope he's not positive.
As for Brian and Justin, I hope they can find a way to hash out their differences before Justin makes the mistake of marrying Josh. I really don't think he'll truly be happy IF he does because in the end, it will just feel like he married himself. I say this because Josh and Justin are sooo much alike and it's such a shame Justin can't see it.

Justin seems to have a lot of bad luck in choosing a replacement for Brian. I didn’t expect Josh to act that way towards Brian (especially since he only knew him as a grateful father of an accident victim) but it also surprised me that he did hand on the message. maybe you have to see it from Josh's point of view; the last months were all about Justin and his art show and not their wedding.
Of course, he supported Justin- not matter what, after all he loves him, but Josh thought, that after the vernissage, everything will be about their big day and then the accident intervenes and all about Justin is thinking of is Gus and then called the father... he's just terribly annoyed ;)
He's not a bad guy, just a man who is deeply in love with Justin and wants to enjoy the time around the wedding- together with his fiancè.

Justin is in a long term relationship, engaged and will shortly marry, added to this- he really loves that guy. What Justin doesn't know, is, that Brian was always there and is still in love with him and supported him. So what will Justin do, when he finds out?

I love what you did here; we have a cliff hanger which looks like we will be waiting a while to find out what is wrong with Michael as Brain has to leave to be with Gus. I hope the men catch up soon as I was worried when Brian didn’t seem like he was going to pursue Justin to get him back. Poor Gus; fate made him the pawn; fingers crossed he is alright. I thought Brian was going to ask about the money issue.
Justin and Josh seem hot together, but it seems Justin is still not over Brian and doesn’t seem anxious to start a family. I see problems up ahead. With all the problems Brian is having with Gus and the munchers, maybe Justin should stay put.

Hmmmm.....I'm finding this one a little hard to read. I really don't see Justin giving up on an 8yr committed relationship or backing out of another wedding because he truly knows how much that would hurt. I would love to see Brian and Justin back together without anyone getting hurt in the process. I'm really going to try and give this fic a chance as I can see it's going to be pretty angsty and heartbreaking.

This was one exciting first chapter. I hated that Brian and Justin had been apart for 10 years, but it was good Justin moved on with Josh, although he's not the love of his life. Interesting that Josh and Justin seem so similar in characteristics. I just hope Josh doesn't turn out to be a jerk, especially with them barebacking.
