I truly enjoyed this Christmas story. I like it much better than the original. The narrative throughout the story was charming and humorous at times. Each chapter was more intriguing than the previous. This last chapter of Brian mending the error of his ways was enchanting. Like I said before -- BRILLIANT!
This will be a favorite Christmas story of mine for years to come.
Happy Holidays and thank you for this gift!

“'Open your eyes, fuckwit,' a familiar voice said."
Melanie as the Grim Reaper -- that was genious. The future for Gus and Justin was Brian's worst nightmare.
Another exceptional chapter!

The diner party at Deb's was my favorite part. Brian had done so much for the family clearly out of love. And it was short sited of Michael to think what Brian did for Justin was out of pity.
This was another excellent chapter!

‘It became inevitable, enforced with a fist and harsh words upon a young and impressionable mind, that Brian would become exactly like his father. Brian liked to believe that because he fucked men rather than women…” I can’t believe I had not read this before. It’s great that this site showcased this story. I would have missed it. This is BRILLIANT! I love the way you made the comparisons between Brian and in this first chapter.
And how can one not compare Brian to Scrooge. You did one hell of a job with this. :)

Dear Jules, It is really what i have considered all those days since I read one book which says that every result what you got in the future is based on every move and decision you have made before.we will never know what the live and our life will like.you never know which road you chosed and what decision you have made are good for you or others,so what we should do is cherish what we already have and try our best to be happy,to do what we loved.just do it at once don't hesitate any longer!

Awesome! Amazing! Beautiful... I can't think of enough words to describe how wonderful this story, and this chapter was. You've truly captured the spirit of Christmas, and the sense of joy, wonder, hope and love that should come with the holidays.
Again you've brought me to tears with such a moving and inspiring story, but tears of joy this time.
Thank you so much for sharing this story, as short as it was, it was truly enjoyable, entertaining and beautiful. And I must say that the ending was brilliant, including the comment about Tiny Tim and Scrooge... perfectly woven in to capture the classic story, but from Brian/Justin's perspective... amazing!
Cheers, Laura :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words! This story was a true labor of love, so I'm very happy that it has been so well recieved. I've found myself becoming a bit of a Scrooge around the holidays in recent years. This story let me recapture some of the magic of Christmas for myself. If it did the same for others, then I really feel like it was more than worth the effort. Thanks again! Jules

I tried to prepare myself to read this... this part always gets me, no matter what version I watch or read (even the Muppet Christmas Carol). Didn't prepare me enough though, I'm still wiping the tears.
Amazing chapter. Very well written, even if Dickens did have a tendency for melodramatics, it certainly fits... and again you've woven the brilliance of Dickens novel and the dynamic characters of Liberty into this stunning Christmas story. And having Melanie as the Grim... pure genius my dear!
And Justin seeing Brian... and Brian's reaction... whew! Wow! I can't wait for the next chapter, to see what your creative and imaginative mind comes up with!
Cheers, Laura :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I have to admit that the story seemed to write itself in many ways and I was just as devastated writing this chapter as I have been each time I've reread it. Melanie... I love her character so much right now. I thought Brian really needed a spirit to guide him through things and a silent Grim like Dickens wrote just wouldn't play here. I also needed a little lightness in this darkest of chapters and the interplay with her seemed to help. I'm really glad you enjoyed the chapter! Jules
