QAF Brian and Justin Fanfiction
Reviewer: BluvsJ (Anonymous) · Date: February 12, 2011 09:33 PM · On: Questions and Some Answers

I was too busy reading to comment before...lol... I can't believe that Jack and Joan treated Brian so badly...and he wasn't even their son!!!!.... why on earth adopt a child if they didn't even want or love him????  I just hope Justin won't be in too much trouble for lying to Brian...off to read the next chapter.... Thanks...

Author's Response:

Hello, my friend!  So delighted you've decided to tackle this rather long saga - LOL!  I hope you like it - this is one of my favorites and the other two main characters I created have become personal favorites with a lot of the readers, too.:)  I will be interested to hear your thoughts on this story.  BTW - you're not the only one that asked that same question about his parents.  Perhaps being Catholic they were having problems having children and Jack wanted someone to carry on with his name?  Good question at any rate.  Thanks for reading and especially reviewing for me!:)

Great story. Wonderful story line, great character development and an amazing creative mind you have.

Spell check would be good at the end of each chapter, but other than that keep up the fabulous work.

Author's Response:

Hi, Kathy - thanks for the review.  I'll try to be more cognizant of the boo-boos - I actually do try and catch them but it seems like invariably some slip by and I have to try and catch them after they're posted.  Thanks for letting me know you liked the story!:)

Reviewer: DavidR (Signed) · Date: February 01, 2011 11:13 AM · On: The Next Step of Their Journey

At this point I think Brian said it best, "Well, that was one hell of a party, Sunshine,".......  It sure was.  That was one terrific story and I am so happy to hear that you expect to writea sequel.  As far as Fin's future, whether he wins the election or not, he has already won, and will most liked win much more.

As usual, I have another question.  Why is Justin now Justin Taylor-Kinney but Brian is still Brian Kinney. Shouldn't  Brian now be Brian  Kinney-Taylor? I just don't get it and I must admit it bothers me some.

Anyway, thanks for this terrific story.  Things are looking good for everyone,  then again, we know that "shit happens."

Thanks again,

DavidR

Author's Response:

Hi, David - Thanks as always for the review; glad you enjoyed the story.  I always appreciate your insightful comments after you read a chapter!  As for the name change, good question.  I guess I was thinking of Brian normally being the more dominant of the two or the one always seeming to have to "be in charge" and "on top," to quote Justin - LOL!  It's not exactly equitable, though, I agree.  It just seemed like the way that Brian would approach it, needing to maintain some sort of control over his life, I guess, but then again he had matured in this story to where he was capable of expressing and giving emotion more.  So perhaps the way his character was in the story, he wouldn't have been so adverse to taking Justin's name, also.  Very thought-provoking question, and I thank you for it as well as reading and reviewing!  Hope you'll stick around for the sequel, which I should be starting on fairly shortly!:)

I really enjoyed this -- great better-than-canon characterizations, and some excellent original characters, too!  As a bonus, it was deliciously long, which I love!  I needed to get some work done this weekend, but couldn't tear myself away from the idea of a newly-finished story by one of my fave, new writers so . . . I let the computer 'read' it to me while I worked in the studio all weekend.

The best of all possible worlds! :-)

So, thanks for keeping me company while I worked, and I can't wait to see where all these characters go next. And, as always, thanks for the excellent Gus inclusion; I love it when writers actually remember that Brian is a father. That element adds so much to his character.  Loved the Brian & Debbie moments, too.

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review - I am so glad you enjoyed it.  I hope you will stay tuned for the sequel, which I should be starting soon.:)

I'm sad it's over but excited for the sequel. This story was so beautiful. I really fell in love with Tony and Fin.Now, Where's Brian wisking his Sunshine away for their honeymoon? I cant wait to find out.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the review!  A lot of readers seemed to have fallen in love with Fin and Tony, and they obviously will be featured quite prominently in the sequel.  I should be working on that shortly so I hope you'll stay tuned for it.  Thanks for reading!:)

Author's Response:

Thank you, Carlly!  So glad you liked it!  I'm working on the next chapter of "She's Your Daughter" today.  As soon as I can, though, I'd say within a couple of weeks, I should have the first part of the sequel posted and Tony & Fin will be featured frequently in the story - so glad you'll be sticking around for the sequel!  Thanks for taking the time to review.:)

I am so glad to see that you will continue this series. I loved the new characters introduced in this story. I look forward to seeing Fin and Brian's relationship evolve. You certainly have a knack for telling a good story!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Suse!  So glad you will be along for the sequel, which I should be starting on shortly.  Fin and Tony have become quite the favorites with my readers, and I have grown quite fond of them as well.  They will all be prominently featured in the sequel.  Thanks for taking the time to leave a review - that is the main incentive I have to keep writing these!:)

What a great ending! So great to see Brian making efforts with his dad and telling Gus about him. I'm so eager so read the sequel.

I like to read about Tony and Justin similarities when they deal with their respective partners. Tony and Fin make such a great couple. I hope for them a happy ending in your sequel.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the review - as you can probably tell, the similarities between Justin and Tony are definitely intentional.  And the sequel, which I should be starting fairly soon, will involve all four characters quite prominently.  Hope you stay tuned - thanks fo reading.:)

OMG I am thrilled to hear you are continuing this story it is a wonderful universe

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review!  Fin and Tony's characters seemed to have become real favorites, considering they're OC.  I will definitely be writing a sequel - it may be a couple weeks or so until I can get one or more of my other open stories concluded, but they will definitely be back for the governor's race and to explore not only Brian's relationship with his father but also Fin and Tony's evolving relationship as well. And of course, the "unknown" honeymoon destination (only my warped brain knows the answer to that right now....!).  Hope you'll stay tuned until then - thanks for taking the time to leave me your thoughts.:)

Uagh! Hate that you ended the story... looking forward to the sequel.  Do I need to tell you again that I love the storyline, characters and I 'd wish that had happened on the show. Brian deserves some loving family!  Hope we'll get to read more soon!

Author's Response:

I know - I kind of hated to see it end, too - but look at it this way.  I will definitely be writing a continuation in the sequel and I will at least temporarily have a little more time to post chapters on my other stories a little faster.....thank you for the kind words about the story.  Probably the fact that you hated to see it end is the best compliment I could get!:)  I still want to explore just what Claire knew about his adoption as well as his deepening relationship with his father.  Don't worry - both Fin and Tony will be featured prominently in the sequel and I will also write about the honeymoon as well.  I promise to get it started soon.  Thanks again for reading and especially taking the time to review!:)

i see you have a new story(dark)  starting.  i am looking forward to reading it, but not i fear as one of my partners at work. his name by the way is brian--but not like our brian, although he lived in toronto for 3 years when they were shooting qaf.  thinks he's a big deal as he saw both randy and gale at different times.  he will really like this as he is a very brooding guy.  just thought it is  kind of interesting.  off to read double trouble now. lol

Author's Response:

Thanks for giving it a try, lindc!  This is the most intense story I have ever written - it's kind of hard to read through at times, but I'm hoping it will be worth it in the end.  I'll be interested to see what you think - as always, thanks for reading!:)  Let me know what your Brian thinks - ha!

This is the ending that should happen on the show. I was very disappointed how it ended so I love post 513 stories. As always with your writing I'm impressed with your ability to keep me siting in this chair with my laptop in my lap and reading your stories deep in to the night. Thumbs up, you are trully a gifted writer and I look forward for the sequel for our newlyweds. Thanks for sharing your stories with us. Hugs, Metka

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Metka!  I'm so grateful you've managed to follow me through three different sites now - LOL!  Thanks so much for the review.  I should be starting on the sequel shortly, but will probably wait until I get at least one of the three open stories wrapped up (I think Double Jeopardy should be finished soon at least).  Thanks for reading - it is greatly appreciated!:)  Hugs to you, too!

what a cliff hanger.  can't wait for the sequel.  my friends and i think you are da bomb!!. it's nice for us to come home after our stressful days (or nurses and surgeons) to sit down and read your wonderful descriptive and funny prose. we will be waiting for your new endeavor.  we have quite in depth discussions on your stories.  i think you would find them quite amusing. lol

Author's Response:

Ah, lindc, my friend, you don't know how much I needed that - LOL!  Thank you for reviewing - it is very discouraging at times to pour your heart into a story (and wear your typing fingers out to boot - ha!) only to have so few actually review the story.  Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it, but if readers like you find them enjoyable that can make all the difference.  As you can see, the sequel will still have a lot of questions to answer yet, so I hope you and your friends will be along for the ride.  In the meantime, I hope you'll check out "Double Jeopardy;" if you can handle some pretty dark periods in it, I think you may like it.  It's a WIP but I will be updating regularly.  In the meantime, I'm heading over to "She's Your Daughter."  I think I see a first date coming up - thanks again for all the reviews - they mean more than you know.:)

Hi,

I just finished the Wedding Chapter, so I am not quite up to date.

It was one terrific chapter, as was the prior ones.  It is amazing

that that courageous  kid who stood by that lamp post hoping to

find what intimate gay life is all about is now marrying Brian.  Man – that was a difficult trip.

I thought you did a sensational job writing about the ceremony.

It had its humorous parts, and of course it had its wonderful emotional parts.  Gus was great, though the rings never found their way to the pillow.  Then again, he kept them safe.  Walking down the aisle and stopping to recognize Jennifer and Molly and again to give special recognition to Debbie was  beautiful.  Then of course those commitment speeches were …. well, what can I

say?  Excellent!

So now what?  Of course you can’t say a word as there are more

chapters for me to read.

Again, thanks for this story, it makes wonderful reading.

DavidR

Author's Response:

Wow - thank you so much for the detailed review - I really appreciate it!  I'm so glad you're reading it and enjoying it - I happen to be working on the next chapter right now, so I should have it up either later tonight or tomorrow.  Not sure if it will be the final chapter or not, but it's getting close.  I will be writing a sequel shortly afterward, though, about the growing father-son relationship and Fin's gubernatorial run, so I hope you'll stick around for that as well.  Thanks again for reading my stories, and especially going the extra mile to leave a review - I greatly appreciate it!:)

"Justin held onto Brian's waist as his husband shook hands with one of his biggest clients; he couldn't help grinning like an idiot as he indulged in secretly rubbing his fingers over the newly-acquired wedding band resting on his hand."

This was a fairy tale come true for Justin.  Beautiful job!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much.  I can see Justin pinching himself silently to make sure Brian really DID marry him - LOL!  Thanks for the kind words.:)

"So here's to you, Justin Taylor-Kinney – I'm so glad you came and never went."

This is the way the series should have ended.  BRAVO!!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!  Yes, I was so disappointed they didn't go through with their wedding on the show - I think their relationship matured and evolved so much over the years, and it was a real shame the writers didn't go that route - I think they really copped out on it.  Thank goodness we can rectify that mistake in our fan fic - thanks for the review!:)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for letting me know how much you've enjoyed the story; if it's any consolation my one chapter more turn into at least two knowing how wordy I can get - LOL!  But at any rate, there will definitely be a sequel for father-son to bond some more and to detail Fin's run for governor as well as his and Tony's relationship.  I really love those two characters by now I almost feel like they were on the tv show - ha!  Thanks again for letting me know how much you're enjoying the story - that is what keeps me writing!:)

I just wanted to let you know that I am another of the readers of this

wonderful story.  I am only just finished chapter 11, meaning that I

have so many questions yet to be answered.  Therefore, I don’t

expect any answers here, but I am sure I will find out  the answers in

the ensuing chapters.

However – one question that keeps on popping up is:  just why did

Jack and Joan adopt Brian and then treat him so badly?  That just

doesn’t make sense to me. Then why adopt?

Anyway, I am so curious about Fin’s career.  Even in baseball you

only get three strikes. It appears that he suddenly will tell the public he

is gay and has a gay relationship.  I wonder (and don’t tell me) if he

now is going to admit to an out of wedlock son.  And – if he does,

how about that his son is also gay and has an out of wedlock child.

Geeez!

Anyway, thanks for the story.  I do enjoy your writing style – lots of

information and not rushed.  And of course I really really really ike this

story.

 DavidR

Author's Response:

Hello, David!  Thank you for reading my story and for the review!:)  I won't spoil any of it for you, but I WILL say you are not the first one to ask the question about why Jack and Joan would adopt; perhaps since they were Catholic, maybe Joan was infertile/unable to conceive for some reason after having Claire (although I'm not sure if she's older or younger) and they felt pressured to have another child through adoption?  Or, like some parents, they saw Brian as some sort of status symbol, or maybe Jack didn't feel "manly" enough without a son to perpetuate his name.....I know unfortunately people don't always adopt children for the right reason(s).

But strangely enough, I hadn't even thought of the Brian/Claire angle of the story, so I  thank you for that!  I think you may have just given me a plot bunny there for the sequel to this story, which I am planning on writing shortly to encompass Fin's run for governor.  Thanks again for the insightful, thoughtful review!:)

Glad you're enjoying the story - now on to "I Don't" - something tells me Brian's about to utter those very same words shortly! LOL!

I can't say how happy I am to see you rapidly becoming one of our authors who finishes their work. You did a great job on this chapter and without more blah blah I want to read on to the next chapter :)

Author's Response:

Thank you, my friend! Yes, I have been reading the comments posted today with great interest.  I have to agree that works that are not updated promptly (i.e., months and months) are also my greatest pet peeve as a reader - I hate investing my feelings into a story only to forget what was written before because it's taken so long for the writer to update; in fact, I have pretty much stopped reading those follow that trend because I lose interest in them.  I hope updating within 10 days or so of the last post is satisfactory to those who are following my stories so faithfully.  I am dedicated to finishing all of them and have never failed to do that.....I just finished up one so that should help me post a little quicker!  Thanks for leaving the review and all the kind words.:)

Elsa had the nonfiction story panels taken down. That wasn't the way to handle it in so many ways. It isn't fair to the majority of our writers who do finish WIPs to be publically slammed by one who doesn't for whatever were her reasons. -bob

Well I hope that Brian will start to open up to his father, because Justin will be disappointed if all his efforts to find his dad will go down the drain. Lovely wedding and great pictures of the reception.

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review!  I am definitely going to explore much more of Brian and Fin's relationship, not only in this story but also in the sequel - hope you will stay tuned!  Thanks for reading.:)

I just want to let you know that I am enjoying this story. I have yet to comment since it seems like everyone is saying what I am thinking, but I also realize that it wouldn't hurt to hear it again. You have an amazing storyline going which you have developed nicely. Your ability to introduce new characters and still make your readers care for them and want them to success only speaks for itself. It is very nice to find a story where I get emotionally invested (cry and laugh with the characters) and I seem to be doing that with THE WEDDING PRESENT. Thank you so much for sharing this story and keep up the good work. I look forward to taking this journey with our B/J are on, through the highs and the lows, and look forward to see where they end up. Thank you again. Two Thumbs up :o)

Author's Response:

Thank you for very much for the review!  I am so glad you left me your thoughts on the story - I never get tired of hearing when someone is enjoying one of my stories.:)  This one definitely seems to have resonated with a lot of people - and I think I've enjoyed writing this one (along with "Stirring Up Trouble") most of all out of all my stories....I think it's probably Fin and Tony's characters.  Sometimes this story just seemed to have written itself (how I wish it was that easy, though - ha!).  Thank you so much for following along with me and for the review - I appreciate every review I receive.  I will be updating this soon - thanks again.:)

PLEASE: Never stop writing stories!

Author's Response:

Wow!  Thank you so much, Diana!  Your kind words mean more than  I can say.:)  This seems to be a real favorite with a lot of readers for some reason.....I have actually grown to feel like Fin and Tony were real characters on the show because I feel like I know them so well by now.:)  Thank you for reading and most of all, taking the time to leave me a review.  I am definitely planning a sequel to this when I get done - hope you'll finish this story and move on to that one when I get it started soon.  In the meantime, I will be updating the rest of this story shortly.  Thanks again for reading and reviewing - it is greatly appreciated!:)

what a wonderful chapter.  the reception decorations and set up so brian-with colors, just georgous.  so emmett- i think he earned his money.  brian has changed quite a bit as far as making justin happy-so nice to see his good side peeks out now and then.  probably more now he has his man.  the father soin dynamic will be interesting to watch.  brian won't hold out for long i feel.  he will probably help fin's run for governor in some way helping their relationship grow.  you are a marvel as a writer.  i just love this story and know i will love the sequel.  i could read your works all day.

Author's Response:

What a lovely review - thank you so much!:)  I am so delighted that you like my story!  Fin and Tony are two of my most favorite characters to write about (in addition to B & J, of course...).  And yes, Brian will definitely figure in quite prominently in Fin's run for governor in the sequel, rest assured.  I think Justin was such a good influence on him so that he could grow as a man and learn to better express his emotions.  Thank you for reading - I will be updating this soon!:)

great wedding and i can't wait to read how you bring brian and his father close. I have read most of your stories and can't tell you how much i like your style and imagination. Most importantly you keep BJ always together despite some of the up and down dynamic. Thanks again for writting ...

Author's Response:

Thanks, Lily!  I suppose some may think Brian's OOC at times but I prefer to think he's simply "matured" over the years due to Justin's influence, so I don't really think his moments of romantic interludes are all that unthinkable.  Thanks for leaving the review and for the kind words.:)

Author's Response:

Ah, you're getting ahead of me, Deb - LOL!  But I'll give you a hint - I think you're on the right track.:)  Fin's run for Governor will actually be in a sequel so I can at least get this one wrapped up and "put to bed" (one of Brian's favorite sayings, no doubt - ha!).  Thanks for the review - glad you're enjoying it!

Love, Love, Love this story! I am so happy for Brian, getting a second chance to have father that will actually care about him and understand him! I also adore how Tony and Justin are so similar to eachother... Obviously like father, like son, the boys love their blondes! =)

Can't wait to see more of the reception...and the speeches from the best man/woman...I hope you have those in here...=) maybe Daphne saying something about when Justin first met Brian and how he told her: I've seen the face of God, and his name is Brian Kinney!....I've only seen that in one fanfic that I recall, although I forget which one...but I loved the reactions to it in that story and could only imagine how you'd make everyone react to it in yours..=)

Can't wait for the next update of this awesome story, I've loved every chapter! =) Happy Writing!

are you going to finish this wonderful story soon.  i would like to read about the honeymoon and after story if you are going to write about it. just wondering.

Author's Response:

Yes!  I am definitely going to finish it - I have NEVER left a story unfinished - that is one of my pet peeves, too....:)  In fact, I am writing the update to "I Don't" as I am responding to this and hope to have that story updated later today.  I try to update them in order, so "Wedding Present" is next.  The next chapter will entail mainly the reception.  I may have at least one more chapter after that before I go to the sequel, which will involve Fin's run for Governor.  I'm not sure at this point if I will include Brian and Justin's honeymoon in this story or the sequel, but I'm probably leaning toward including it in the sequel (sorry about that, but I have to get at least a couple of my open stories finished before I start on the new one and that is the most convenient way to do it.....).  Thanks for letting me know you're reading the story and for leaving the review.  Stay tuned and pray I have a snow day this Tuesday so I can work on the next chapter - I'm a teacher and having the day off would really help - ha!).  In either case, I will definitely have another chapter up this coming week.:)  Thanks again for reading!

Normally it would be political suicide to do it at least in Texas.

Author's Response:

I kind of thought you might grow more fond of Fin eventually; of course it didn't hurt that Tony was giving him an ultimatum, either....

Reviewer: JTSecrets (Signed) · Date: January 04, 2011 10:18 PM · On: Stubborn Is As Stubborn Does

Well shit but I'm not surprised by Brian's actions. First of all the senator doesn't have to announce his long lost gay son at the press conference. That smacks of using him. They don't need the publicity it will cause them and change their lives.

And once the press gets hold of Brian's sordid past it would not be good for Fin either.

What a fu*king can of worms!

Author's Response:

But that's the IDEA!  Got to have some angst here - LOL!  Kind of complicated, though, isn't it??

The story is more than excellent, a blue ribbon worthy event without a doubt. They just hope you finish it without too much delay. It hurts if a featured story is delayed. Reading on after seeing the title of the next chapter sounds very interesting.

Thanks - I would love to get a blue ribbon on this one eventually!  I really am proud of how this one has turned out and it does seem to be very popular.  Don't worry, I regularly update all my stories and this one will not be an exception.  I see at least a couple more chapters of this one before I begin on the review.:)

You wrote that very-very well. Usually I skim over repeat information but I had to see how Justin played it out. I'm very proud of Brian's reaction. If Fin doesn't have the courage yet; once he meets Brian (who could do damage control for him) he might actually become a totally new man. So many ways this could unfold.

Author's Response:

Thank you.:)  I didn't really think Brian would just open up his arms and enfold the guy - that would not have been true to his character.  Both he AND Fin will have to do some bending here eventually.

Reviewer: JTSecrets (Signed) · Date: January 04, 2011 07:14 PM · On: Lives Shifting in Motion

This will destroy Fin if he doesn't grow a pair and quick. Fantastic plot here.

Reviewer: JTSecrets (Signed) · Date: January 04, 2011 06:52 PM · On: One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward

Fin is an ass. Fear is such a powerful enemy for gay people to deal with but that could have been handled a much better way. For a politican he sure failed in the navigation area of his private life.

Now I wonder how Brian will take the bombshell(s).

Author's Response:

Glad to see you're reading this story!:)  This one seems to have struck a chord with a lot of people; I think (perhaps) your opinion of Fin might change just a little in the future - let's just say the screws are about to be applied to him by someone else he really cares about and he will begin to see the light.  As for how long this one will be, I foresee probably a few more chapters after the 27th one I just wrote, but I've said that before and look where that got me - LOL!  But I definitely see a sequel to this one coming up afterward.  I really liked Fin and Tony's characters I created in this one.....Will be interested to see what you think of this whole saga - ha!:)

At least Justin is going forward with caution. New unknown family can be a nuclear distaster too. Something about "let sleeping dogs lie" I remember from my grandfather's sayings.

When I did a genealogical study of my family's history some of my brothers actually warned me not to dig up old dirt. Turned out we had a rich wonderful history to find all the way back to 1720 Virginia of well to do farmers before the trail ran cold. Except for having slaves there were no skeltons in the closet to be found and now they are delighted with our history since my father was adopted.

This is a very interesting story.

ancestory.com really works!

Reviewer: JTSecrets (Signed) · Date: January 04, 2011 03:45 PM · On: Questions and Some Answers

Adoption fits the clues you gave. That can be a good thing or a whole nother can of worms for them. More family members could be a nightmare or a blessing. Justin should have let Brian in on this first and they decide to move forward together me thinks or not proceed. The ramifications are too intense. Justin is so trusting a soul and hasn't seen the worse of people much.

Reviewer: JTSecrets (Signed) · Date: January 04, 2011 03:25 PM · On: Withholding and Revealing Information

Oh wow! Brian and his parents are involved; an old legal document found, needing to hire a PI for research and location, a family. You have given me the clues to almost guess what Justin found. Either Jack, Joan, or both are not Brian's parents. A very interesting plot idea if I'm right.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, my friend!  I truly wanted their wedding to be something special - they have waited so long for it and to have both of their families and friends there also made it special, I think.  I hope to do the reception justice.  Wasn't really thinking beyond that to the honeymoon, but may include that instead in the sequel I have planned which will detail Fin's run for Governor.  Hope you'll stay tuned - I should be updating soon....thanks for leaving a review and letting me know what you think!:)  BTW - I LOVE being able to use images with these stories, too!

Got this far and really wanted to just say that I'm enjoying this story very much. Very true to life on how people react to finding out secrets from their past are coming to light. Not going to be an easy road for any ofthese people. My only question that I don't think can be answered is why Joan and Jack would adpot a child in the first place. Neither cared for kids at all and Brian wasn't wanted by either...but life is weird that way.

Anyway a good story with hood pacing and a heart to boot.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review!:)  Glad you like it - that's a good question; not sure, either, why they would adopt a child unless back in their age there was a sort of stigma on childless couples and, being Catholic, they were expected to continue on down the line (I guess Brian surprised them, then, didn't he - ha!)  Thanks again for reading and reviewing; hope you'll continue.:)

Thank you for the very insightful review - so glad you're enjoying it; I definitely think I struck some sort of responsive chord with Fin and Tony.  By far I think they are the best characters I have ever created - they just inspire me somehow.:)  I will update the story as soon as I can (it will be soon); but alas, real life intrudes and I have to go back to my teaching job Monday and haven't even looked at next week's lesson plans yet - ACK!  But I always update regularly so do not fear - these boys will definitely being getting hitched soon!  Thanks again for taking the time to read and review - I can't think of a better compliment than the fact that you're sacrificing sleep in order to read this!:)

Now that was a rehearsal dinner to end all others.  Emmett evidently did a fabulous job.  Made me wish I was there.  I was a little worried that Sean and Kathy might not find the place, thank goodness they did.

Glad to see you're getting almost caught up to the end - you realize you will be forcing me to write another chapter now - LOL!  (I actually have to update the Christmas Story first but trust me, my fingers will be typing as fast as they can go!:)

I found a mistake in "Stubborn Is As Stubborn Does": Fin thinks about Brian and his great granson Gus.

This is a great story, I love it! I really like Tony!

Author's Response:

Oops!  Thanks for letting me know - I'll get it corrected!  And I love Tony, too - he and Fin are some of my most favorite characters that I've created.  Thanks for the review - it is greatly appreciated!:)

You managed to strike the right notes with everyone in this chapter.  Brian, Fin, and Deb are the wild cards and Justin and Tony are the rocks that keep them from flying apart.  I'm kinna worried about Sean and Kathy.  Hopefully Fin explains to their satisfaction that he did love their daughter?

>

Author's Response:

Not to worry - I think they will all reach an understanding.:)  I guess I could have make them a little more unsympathetic, but chose to take the "high route" instead and make them a decent pair when it comes to Fin and their grandson/great grandson.  I think it's important that Brian finally receive the family he so desperately was deprived of growing up.  The story will mainly be focusing on Brian and Fin's growing but fledgling relationship and how it evolves.  You'll see more of that coming up, especially with the reception chapter which should be up fairly soon.  I also have either a continuation planned beyond the wedding, or more likely, a sequel in the works that will detail Fin's run for Governor.:)  Hope you'll continuing reading and reviewing in either case....thanks again.

Poor Brian, I hope his scrawny ass is feeling better in time for the wedding.  There was so much to like about this chapter that I can't begin to list them all.

Author's Response:

Thank you, my friend!  I am enjoying working on my stories this week while I'm off - will have to go back to reality soon, though.:(  But I am so thankful you are taking the time to read and review and am enjoying the story!  I like to show some of the tenderness as well as passion between the two boys; you will see that reflected quite a bit in my stories.  Thanks again for reading and reviewing!

Just what every wedding needs.  In-laws.  To find out that they guy that got their baby pregnant is gay...woah!  Hope you have this resolved, cause I'm looking for a happily-ever-after. :o)

That fundraiser excuse is wearing a little thin.  I'm thinking the next person who hears it isn't buying.  You had me worried there, thank goodness Brian invited them to the wedding.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review as always!  It's probably not going to matter much soon anyway, because most of their family and friends will know soon enough, even before the wedding - stay tuned!:)

I am so surprised that Kiki didn't notice the likeness between Fin and Brian.  If I were Jen I'd be more curious about two strangers, one who looks like her future son-in-law.  Now on to the next chapter to see how the reunion of father and son works out.

It's amazing how much alike Justin and Tony are.  They both tend to get that rumbly in the tumily thing going.  Just think the Liberty Diner is just down the road.  I wonder if Debbie is working?

Everythings out in the open.  Personally I like Fin and Tony and hope Fin's constituents can see past his orientation.  I also want to see how Brian finally takes this.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 30, 2010 07:26 AM · On: Stubborn Is As Stubborn Does

Is it nature or nurture?  Obviously in this case it's nature.  Those two can be so stubborn.  I wonder how Justin persuades Brian to get to know his dad?

Author's Response:

It's going to be a slow process; but after all, where's Brian's concerned, we wouldn't expect anything less, right?  Thanks again for all the reviews - it's great!:)

I'd forgotten about the fishing trip. So now Brian gets to meet his doppleganger.  Wonder when Fin goes public?  Yes this story is gooood!!!

Somehow I knew Fin would come around and isn't it amazing how much he and Brian have in common?  Can't wait to read how their trip to the country turns out.

Author's Response:

Yes, I thought that would make it a little more interesting - we have two sets of bookends now - father and son and their partners - LOL!  It's going to take a while, though, before Brian really warms up to Fin - stay tuned!

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 30, 2010 06:22 AM · On: Brian Meets Sean and Kathy

Hmmm, I'm not sure what to think about Brian's being reluctant for them to leave.  Gus and Brian going fishing!!! That's a first.  It's about time Brian found someone to make up for Jack and Joan.

There is two ways Brian could have gone with this.  One is to tell Justin to leave his private life alone.  The other is the way you went. I like your way better.   Brian's finally getting the fact that people love him and it's okay for him to care back.

Author's Response:

I agree - glad you do, too. I prefer to think Brian evolved through the course of his relationship with Justin to where he would be more open to allowing that to happen.:)

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 29, 2010 08:29 PM · On: Lives Shifting in Motion

I wonder if Justin telling Fin why he's so desperate to find Brian a loving family would make a difference?  Gee you're so good I'm starting to think this story is real.

>

Author's Response:

I know what you mean - I think Brian really considers Gus and Brian his family now, but still, there is something special about the father-son bond; I mean, look at him and the way he is with Gus.  And I also know what you mean about getting caught up in the story - I have written so much now about Fin and Tony I feel like they were actual characters in the show now!  Thanks as always for leaving your review!:)

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 29, 2010 10:45 AM · On: One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward

Darn, Justin has got to tell Brian everything. Lying is no way to start a marriage and only leads to trouble as I'm sure Fin is going to find out.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review.  Not to worry, Justin learned his lesson since the "Fiddler" incident and Brian will know all about it soon....!:)

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 29, 2010 10:34 AM · On: Courage Versus Convention

Talk about deja vu.  Those two fight just like Brian and Justin.  How will Fin feel when he finds out what kind of childhood his son had?  Will he change his mind in order to get to know Brian and Gus?  Questions, questions.

>

Author's Response:

Remember when Justin talked Brian into donating his Barcelona chair and what he did to convince him?  Well, don't look now but Tony's about to apply some "screws" (pardon the pun) of his own - LOL!

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 29, 2010 10:22 AM · On: Meeting Brian's Father

Well they do say that politics make for strange bed fellows.  I've been wondering why no one made a connection between Brian and the Senator before now?  After all the Senator is a public figure and Brian isn't exactly shy.  Doesn't matter the story is great even without that.  I figured that Fin would start worrying about his political career, but I can't wait until he finds out he's a grandfather!!

Author's Response:

Thanks for reviewing!  It's probable with the likeness that someone would have noticed, but they ARE in different parts of the state - Fin's a state senator in Harrisburg while Brian's based out of Pittsburgh.  So I like to think it's conceivable maybe no one would have noticed the connection.  Guess I have to suspend reality just a little - LOL!  Thanks again.

Hmmm, why do I think there is something about Casinelli'a interest in Brian's father that is more, shall we say, personal.  I have a feeling that the Senator, while he might be surprised to learn he has a son, isn't going to be surprised to hear that said son is gay?

Author's Response:

You just might be on to something, my friend....although I think it may be the other way around - I think Brian may be the surprised one (hint, hint...).  You will find out shortly....!

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: December 29, 2010 09:51 AM · On: Meeting Brian's Grandparents

This chapter is full of surprises.   I like the fact that the Blackwells, even though they are Catholic aren't prejudice.  And now they know they have a grandson and a great grandson.   Think how surprised Brian will be.  Not to mention, Deb and Michael and Emmett and you get my meaning.

>

Author's Response:

Yes, the story line opens up all sorts of possibilities - just wait until Brian and Gus go fishing with Sean later - LOL!
