Wow, I really enjoyed this gap-filler! The most poignant part was Deb wondering "if Brian's ever wanted to come home to anyone ever, ever before in his life." I think this really reflects on how lonely Brian's life is, glamorous though it may seem to outsiders. Debbie needed to be here to put Justin's rules into the gran context of his life. I find pre-Seasons Brian the most interesting and you gave me some lovely hints throughout the one-shot of his past. I really enjoyd those. I thought your Justin was written just fine, and Debbie was written even better. What a really sweet and well thought out piece that would ahve been great in the original!

This was great. I was actually "saving" this story until after you'd finished WNWM in the hope it would ease the withdrawal symptoms. But...I've caved in and read it now!!!!! I've reached a new level of pathetic *snorts*

I love it! I think your S2 Justin is just fine - even after the bashing he was still innocently optimistic regarding his relationship with Brian and you did a good job with that here. I'd love to see more of these birdges :)

Interesting conversation and for once Debbie was actually not obnoxiousl. By the end of the series I could hardly stomach her character (just mho, sorry if I offend Debbie lovers. Thanks for sharing your point of view on the subject of Brian and rules.
"I’ve been too hard on the little shit. A lot too hard. My eyes almost start to water." I love this line!!!

Interesting conversation between Deb and Justin. Good insight into Brian's normal reaction to "rules".
"I’ve been too hard on the little shit. A lot too hard. My eyes almost start to water." my favorite line. For supposedly loving Brian, Debbie was extremely mean to him in the series. Knowing all the sufferring he had in his young life she was never very forgiving or understanding of him.
Thanks for sharing this.

That was great and I do believe that Brian has never let anybody set rules like that for him before, it sounds plausable.
Deb sure got herself a surprise there, little Sunshine was the only one who could break through Brian's defences :)

OMG what a wonderful view of the rules I never looked at it from the Debbie or the gangs pov. Debbie's reaction and disbelief and Justin starting to understand the magnitude of change in Brian. I really enjoyed this fic because I often dislike Debbie for not acting on Brian's behalf when his parents abused him. So to have her switched on and protecting Brian by not telling all his secrets but giving Justin the understanding of how much Brian has given to Justin by agreeing to the rules, wonderful.
I shall keep this in my hard drive to read over again thx Chris

I really enjoyed this.... Justin had no idea the importance of Brian's acceptance of his "Rules"... until Debbie said to him... "Brian might have never wanted to come home to anyone before now. Before you"... I think he realized how much Brian loved him even then...
Author's Response: Wow, just realized I never replied to these!
I always was so touched by the "Rules" speech and what it could have meant for Brian. I'm glad you liked the story.

That's so touching... It was monumental when Brian said "coming home to you". That's the "I love you and I want you" right there.
This ficlet is also funny.
Eight? HaHa. That reminds me of the time when Justin told Viagra Ted that Brian and his sex life was not like it used to be - down to 4 times a day. That was hilarious. And now we know the norm is eight! I sure hope it is eight times per day and not per hour. *laughing so much I am falling off my chair*
“YOU SET SEX RULES FOR BRIAN KINNEY?”
Now Deb, no need to be too excited. We don't want the whole Liberty Avenue to hear that, don't we? Although I think the whole gay PA eventually noticed.
Brian Kinney is in love with Sunshine!!!
Oh, Yeah. Not only that Brian Kinney, God's gift to gay PA, loves the kid. He is actually in love =D
PS. Yeah. I never had that "credit card theft" happened to me before. First time. 4 transactions totaling $4000. I am glad that I check my account every week so that I caught it early on. I reported the problem to the credit card company. Let's hope I don't end up having to pay for them. But it is not the money that bothers me the most. I feel so violated.
Author's Response: I know! I swear -- Brian's "coming home to you" speech would have left me in tears if I was Justin. I don't know what I would have done. Melted. Died. Something drastic!
I'm glad you liked the humor of the ficlet, too. I could just so well imagine Deb, chewing gum, her jaw just dropping and in her mind still thinking, "Holy fuck, 8 times..."! :)
P.S. I hope your credt cards will cover the losses -- they're supposed to, I think. I understand a little bit of that violated feeling. I had a close friend (or, thought she was a close friend) steal a lot of money from me (well, not a lot, but I was in high school at the time and it was all the money I had, twice, from my part time job). The worst part wasn't the money at all (or being dumb enough for it to happen twice), but just the feeling of being totally violated and, since I knew her, that she didn't trust me enough to ask for the money. I'm a softie and would've lent it if she needed it so bad.
Anyway, I'm really sorry to hear about that!

i liked it. wasn't deb's place to tell justin things about brian's family but it does help with the story. the more justin knows of brian's backgroung the better he'll be able to understand what's going on with him and them at dr. stevenson's.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it -- I figured I was keeping Deb in character. Minding her own business is not really her strong suit! ;)
Thanks for reviewing it! There may be more in the series sometime.
