this was a very good chapter and with dr. steveson's help he did everything right.
gus needed to learn limitations and what's expected of him and i think their headed in the right direction. i only wish brian would have more faith in himself.
Author's Response: *sighs* It's true that Brian still is second-guessing himself. Hopefully as he sees that he is capable of being a father in a whole range of circumstances, he'll start to trust his instincts.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad that the dynamic with Dr. Stevenson is believable. Dr. Stevenson is there to be a sappy version of myself, there to help Brian out, so it's sort of a miracle that it works out! :)

Great chapter as usual... It's a good thing Dr. Stevenson... gave Brian a few parenting tips...because they sure came in handy... Gus really tested Brian's patience...but he passed with flying colors....

Brian's temper is sort of an interesting thing, because a lot of times he seems to be cool and even-headed, yet there are those other times.... *thinking of a certain incident with his nephew!*

oh, yeah. We all heard people calling Brian that for like a billion times in the show.
but I can see that Brian will melt of embarrassment if we talk about it any further just now.

But Brian has impressed me again.
Yeah. Brian is complicated but he constantly assess his situation. Apart from his own emotion, I think very little things really escape Brian's radar.

Ugh... I think I can feel my lunch making a reappearance now.
“Thank you,” he replies, voice quiet.
It makes my heart soar when he accepts the compliment.
Me too. It's huge that Brian accepts a compliment.

OK. I know this is supposed to be serious. But this is so funny. Channeling. Ha Ha.
I feel so bad for Gus. It's great that you showed Gus's POV. From his POV, what's the big deal with playing with Justin's game, really?
I shut my eyes and an image of my father, flushed and shaking, flashes before my eyes.
That's exactly what I was imagining would happen when I suggested the "Naughty Gus" idea. Bingo!
I open my eyes in a hurry and pull out my cell phone.
I am really proud of Brian here.
“You just asked for help in advice because of how much you care and love Gus; that is something your father never did once. You are not him,” I say firmly and I hear Brian breathe faster.
That's beautiful. I think I am in love with Dr Stevenson. OK, the Doc is a close second after Brian =D
“I love you too,” I say and kiss the top of his head.
Perfect ending to the chapter...
I really like the way you (and Jacky) show what Brian needed to get through this experience. And I particularly like the idea that Justin was away when this happened. Thanks again for the wonderful ride with this story. Guess I will catch up with the next chapter after my vacation.

Anyway -- I love the parts you picked out! I like Dr. Stevenson a lot too, mostly because he's there to treat Brian the way I wish I could! :)

This was great. I can totally see where Brian is coming from, he has never experienced being punished in a manner fitting the 'crime' so how is he supposed to know what punishment is appropriate?
I'm glad he stepped back and called Dr. Stevenson in stead of losing it with Gus, that would have been unfair, what he did was totally fair and messured.
