Micheal needs to let go or risk losing Brian forever and even Mel can see that. Idol like how she is defending Brian for a bit for a change. He loves Gus and wouldn’t for one second treat him any different when the new baby arrives.

Author's Response: Michael only sees the baby as something that will take away from his time with Brian. He has always loved Gus and this won't change when the baby arrives.

How does Ben still live with that ass! He and Debbie mettle in everyones business and none of it concerns them.If they had all the wisdom and all the answer their lives would be far greater than they are.
Author's Response: I never understood the Ben/ Mikey show. Ben is highly educated professor who is strong, independent and self assured and Mikey is a child in a man's body; complete with jealousy, bad manners and no filter on his mouth.

You have guessed Michael right; I liked how Ben replied and how he knows he will hear again about the baby. Poor guy.

Yep, I am still out here, and still enjoying this story.
As for Michael, I don’t give a damn what he thinks. He just doesn’t matter to me. I am glad you wrote the chapter, but Michael will never understand that bond between Brian and Gus and Justin and Gus. But Michael is right about one thing, Brian will have less time for him. But more importantly, Brian will ‘want’ to have less time for Michael.
Again, thanks for the story. We sure have come a long long long way.

Author's Response: Thank you for continuing to read despite the slow process in writing the story. I really don't like Michael- he needs to grow up and I don't understand how Ben ever stayed with him. Yes, when the baby comes, Michael will definetly be low on the total pole.

Hey Darling! Just catching up with this story and I can't wait for MORE!!! OH Good God's Garage where do I start??
I am absolutely EXCITED that Brian and Justin have chosen Cynthia for the baby. I wanted to smack the fire out of Lindsey and Melanie several times during the series for the way they discounted Brian's feelings/ role in Gus' life. It's nice to read fics where they get their comeuppance for that and they preconceived notions are proven false. With that in mind, I have to say it was also REFRESHING to see Melanie as the voice of reason when speaking with Lindsey and Michael about Brian and Justin's relationship/parenting of Gus. I think this is finally opening her eyes and seeing the Brian that Justin has seen since night 1.
As always I want to put a muzzle on Michael. Honestly, I don't know how Ben did it in the series and I certainly don't while reading the various stories. I always find it strange that in a friendship 15 years in the making, Michael never got to see and understand WHO Brian was underneath all the bravado. But I guess we can attribute the saying "People see only what they want to see" to Michael- a character who refuses to accept change and has no filter to accept reality. I seriously hope reality takes a big bite out of his ass big time...LOL
My prediction: Michael and Lindsey will lose their minds once the baby arrives. Gus will go stay with his Dads. And Melanie will restore Brian's parental rights so that Michael can no longer use that as a Brian Bashing Tool. Well at least that's what I would love to see happen. However, I am LOVING your story as is! Although I will continue to follow this, I can't wait until it's finished so that I can read all the related fics back-to-back again. You've done one helluva job on the series so far and I'm HOOKED!

First, let me say thank you for the well thought out and generous comments you left on the story. As a writer, I aprpeciate each and every comment but is always nice to have a long discourse.
Cynthia seemed to be a good choice for the surrogate. I know in many stories, folks have chosen DAphne, but I didn't want that for them. I thought Daphne was better suited to being an Aunt than a surrogate mom. The time that Justin and Daphne had sex brought way too much angst to their relationship and I just didn't think that was a good combination.
I totally agree about Ben. It just seems wrong that anyone would stay with a spouse where it was obvious that their feelings for someone else are still very much to the surface. Michael wants Brian and he really isn't ready to accept that Justin has him.
Not going to address your prediction- it will spoil the story. Glad that you are enjoying the story and I hope the ending will be good for you.

Author's Response: Thank you for the comments. I think Melanie sees Brian a little differently. True, she is not a big Brian fan but I think that is more due to the jealousy she feels for Linds' feelings for him. I've never seen how Ben can put up with Michael.

also - while I am admittedly not a Michael or Mel fan - it is refreshing to read a story where Michael is actually positively involved in JR's life - the parents get along - and except for the Michael and Brian whinefest...the usual resentments and Brian bashing ae not the main character - thanks for that
and - not that it will stop him - I'm glad everyone is letting Mikey know they don't agree with him

Author's Response: Happy that you are still reading. I feel very badly that it is taking so long for me to post and write this story but RL is just incredibly busy. Not an excuse, just it is. REgardless, I am excited that my readers can relate to the characters and enloy my portrayl. I'm always surprised when I watch the series that folks didn't see the good part of Brian.

Michael's still an ass, and I think everyone is finally getting a bit tired of his immature rantings.
No redeeming qualities, can't see what Ben is suppose to.
Author's Response: I've always wondered what Ben saw in Michael. I think I totally lost any respect for the man when he told Brian that Justin should have died after the bashing.
