Oh God, Lindsay, did not just offer Brian money for looking after his kid, did you? I know he needs the money, but INSULTING!!! And then the family all shouting at him for Justin working so hard, I can only imagine how this must make him feel. I loved him stopping by Justin's work though, that was so cute.

Oh Justin, listen to what Brian is trying to tell you, he didn't mean it was bad that he has to rely on you, it's just he's not used to it. He's a proud man :(

So heartwrenching and beautiful at the same time. This could easily be canon; to me Justin and Brian are in character.
I'm terrified about what will happen with Brian's testicular cancer. I hope he'll get it checked out and treated soon.
Author's Response: That is such a relief to hear! When I'm writing it myself it's hard to think of how it would be perceived by you readers. One of the things I strive for the most is keeping them in character - because to me that makes the story more believable, so I'm glad you think they are!

Author's Response: Brian is struggling here. Not just with his job, but also his sense of worth. He's not just in a funk, but in my mind he's in a depression. It's hard to get motivated to go find a job you don't even want when you're depressed. But don't worry, things will get better, I promise. And Justin's hard work won't be in vain.

Poor Brian. Things keep getting worse. While it might be painful, for both him and Justin, if it makes them equal that's all that counts. Hopefully there is some good news coming soon. Working to make a go of Kinnetic and having cancer isn't a good sign.
