So great to see Alex laugh, I wish there guys could make her perminant with them. I like the teacher I think she will be really good for her.

Author's Response:

Hi, Vicki!  I see you're almost done. ;)  That's a lot of reading, isn't it?  Longest story by far that I have written.  I never thought it would be so much longer than the first part (Wedding Present).  But it kind of took on a life by itself - ha!  It also has the highest read count of any of my stories, too, probably due in large part to how many chapters it is.  I DO adore Tony and Fin's characters, so I will definitely try to find a way to incorporate them into another story or another sequel to this one at some point.

Thank you again for all the comments and feedback!  I so appreciate that. And I hope you do check out "Tender Loving Care."  If you like a protective/tender Brian with his son, I think you will really enjoy that one.  BTW, if you have not read any of the "Tricky series," Gus is in a LOT of those, too, as well as "Stirring Up Trouble."  Oh, and "Paper Hearts Killer," also.  Sorry for all the self- promotion - ha!  Thanks again for all your support, Vicki. Very glad to have you reading - and posting - on MW.  ~Kim

Alex is a very lucky girl to have these guys care about her and I'm so proud of Brian for how he is melting towards her. I can't wait to see how she develops with them.

I love how genuine Justin is.  He always leads with his heart. <3  Prickly Alex is NOTHING compaired to how emotionally stunted Brian was.  I'm sure things will be just fine... with just enough drama to make it interesting.

“Brian and I have both had experience with feeling alienated from our family, and not feeling like we belonged.”
"I know this isn't the purpose you originally wanted for this room..."

I’ve come to like the idea of Brian and Justin fostering Alex. The speech both of them gave to the girl was passionate and something the girl needed to hear and I could see how much they both could relate to her predicament. Justin put his dream on hold for a good cause. And that bedroom was awesome!

I still feel sorry for Tony. I’m hoping he can get his wish fulfilled in the future.

I like how this story has progressed.

Sandra :)

Author's Response:

Hi, Sandra. Always so good to hear from you. Thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your feedback.  I think especially for Brian it is fitting that he pursue fostering Alex.  It certainly won't be without its share of difficulty and strife, but seeing as how he has benefited from getting to know HIS real father, I think it is apt.

It remains to be seen how Justin's dream will play out, as well as Tony's situation, but I do have a bit more to tell yet.  I'll try hard to update this sooner than last time.  I'm working on my other WIP first, though, and my father's recent passing has pushed back some of my goals, but it WILL get completed. Thank you for bearing with me until then, and for your support.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

We have been working doubles so just saw the sad news today. I don't know what to say except how sorry we all are for you and your mom. It's really hard for the ones left behind. I don't think it matters how old one is when they pass, as people say they led a good or long life. I think that is crass to say and doesn't make the families feel any better. We will still say prayers for you and your mom. lots of love to you from all of us. lol

Author's Response:

Hello, my special friends.  Thank you for your kind words.  To say this has been a very difficult two weeks is a vast understatement.  Yesterday was my father's visitation, funeral, and burial, so needless to say it was extremely gutwrenching.  My mother asked someone to play the piano and sing "You'll Never Walk Alone," which was sung at her and my father's wedding almost 60 years ago.  Very touching but also heartbreaking.  She is hanging in there, but is understandably lost without him.

Being Mother's Day today, it brings home how blessed I am to still have her with me, though, and I AM grateful that I was with my mom at hospice when my father passed away.

Thank you again for all your words of support and comfort; they are most appreciated.  Sending my love back to you all.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Hey! it's just me again dropping a note from all your best buds. I hope this finds your dad somewhat better. I read on your site where he will be going to hospice. That is a wonderful, caring place to be. These people are the best at what they do as they help not only the patient but the family members as well. We are still saying prayers for you all. Lee is very upset for your family-he gets very emotional when we discuss it. I guess it has to do with all the things he has had to endure in his short life. We all send aour prayers and love to you. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, my dear friends. My dad is resting comfortably so far, but his body is slowly shutting down. My mother is with him in his hospice room at night, and I have been going there during the day.  It is so heartbreaking to see her in so much pain. They did everything together for almost 60 years, and I know she will be lost without him.  I hope I can provide her with the comfort she will need in the next several months. They had a special kind of abiding love that you don't see much anymore.  He is a wonderful husband and father, and will be dearly missed by all of us. My mom slept with his pillow clutched in her hands yesterday, and it about broke my heart. She asked me to pick out his burial outfit today. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I did it for her.  We are comforted somewhat by our faith that they will be reunited again one day, though. Thank you all for your support and kindness. And give Lee a big hug for me. You are all very dear to me.  Sending my love to all of you.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I was very excited to see this lovely update.  I think Brian and Justin already have fallen for their little ward.  Poor Tony had a bad day but Fin made it all better.   Dee Dee

Author's Response:

Hi, Dee Dee - I'm at home briefly to let my mother get some much-needed sleep before we head back to the hospital for my father, who is in the neuro critical care unit.  Long story - but very seriously ill. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers if you would.  Thank you for reading this latest chapter and for your kind words, my friend.  I'll work hard to get an update to this sooner that last time.  And I hope you are doing better as well.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

I HEARD THIS AFTERNOON ABOUT YOUR DAD. I AM SO SORRY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I WOULD HAVE REVIEWED SOONER BUT AM TRYING TO GET OVER A BITCH OF A COLD.. WILL PROBABLY GO BACK TO WORK MONDAY. HOPE THINGS GO WELL FOR HIM. WILL BE THINKING OF YOU AND SIGN A PRAYER CARD FOR HIM. LUV 2 U.

Author's Response:

Hi. Lee. Thank you for your kind words and for the prayers, sweetheart. Both are greatly appreciated.  He almost had to have a breathing tube placed today due to some very harsh breathing, but they made some changes to his oxygen and feeding tube, and for now he is stable without it. Still runs the risk of seizures or a stroke, though, and still cannot swallow, so we are not out of the woods yet.  Sorry to hear you are feeing so bad. I hope you are feeling better very soon.  Thank you again for all the support. And please thank everyone else for me.  I do believe in the power of prayer.  Sending a hug and my love back to all of you.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Kim, lindc told us of your plight with your dad. I can emphathize with you as my aunt had a similar problem. She was elderly but tough. She came out of it quite well. There are about 30 workers and listeners saying prayers and wishing you and your family well. Stay strong for them and keep the faith.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Brian. That is comforting to hear. He is so out of it right now, and just failed his swallow test, so will have to have a feeding tube put in. He will NOT like that, I know, but I also realize it has to be done.  It's so hard to see him in this condition, but I am holding out hope he will still come out of this.  Do you all realize how special and dear you are to me?  Your good wishes and prayers are a real comfort. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Kim welcome back my friend :D Poor Tony and Fin...This political transition is going to be difficult on them for quite some time. Hopefully the love they have for each other will be strong enough to see them through.

Meanwhile Brian and Justin have their hands full with little miss Alex. I can understand her unwillingness to trust, but I think given time she will realize that she is much more than a charity case to our boys.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tamara - thank you as always for reading and for the comments.  I'm glad you're still following this story.;) Agree with you on both counts.  I am gratified, though, that Fin should remain fiercely protective of his partner, and I don't think his love for him is in question.  I do think they will have their work cut out for them in the privacy department, though.

As for Alex, yes, i feel she is more than just a one-dimensional character.  There is definitely more there beneath the surface, and I think Brian may just be the one who manages to find it. Thank again for the feedback, Tamara, and for reading; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Yeah!!! our "fav" is back in all her splendor. This was a wonderful chapter. I know I wanted Jus to have an infant, but maybe things will work out with Alex. The bedroom is beautiful. Who wouldn't fall in love with that room. They still have a long row to hoe with her. I can't see this ending with one more chapter. There are still too many snags to work on. I hope Tony gets used to the celebrity he has been thrust into soon. I thiink a wedding for them should be on the docket before this story ends. Lee is better. I told him when I called this was here, so expect a review from him soon. Poor kid he has had a close call with pneumonia. He works too much, double shifts too much. BB said to say hello from him-he is so busy and needs a vacation. I hope your mum and dad are doing ok. Please take the low road on all your things you are doing. We can't take a chance on your getting sick. I guess we have been too dependent on you being our writing guru here. Your strories are our breath of fresh air in our over-worked very tiring days. I hope you know how important that and you are to us. SOOOO!!!!! please take it a little slower and smell the coffee!!. lol

Author's Response:

Hi, lindc and all the peeps.;) Thank you as always for your comments.  I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner. I am in the middle of a serious family health concern. My father fell and hit his head Saturday, and wound up being admitted to a neuro ICO unit with bleeding on the brain.  He has an artificial heart valve, so they have been forced to cut off his blood thinners to try and clot the bleeding in the brain, which makes him vulnerable to a stroke. So far the 3 CT scans do not show any further bleeding, but for the next few days we are holding our breath to see whether or not he has a stroke.  Don't feel we have much choice, though, about our options.  In the meantime, hard to see him tied down due to his agitation and combativeness, but they claim that coming from the pressure on the brain and his age.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for me. He is still in a very tenuous place.  And thank you for all the love and support; that means so much to me, especially now.  Sending my love back to you, Brian, Lee, and all the others.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Thanks for the update Kim. It was worth waiting for. Love it.

Author's Response:

Aww...thanks, Marny!  It's good to know you're still following it. I'm just sorry it's taken so long. I will try hard to get it updated a lot sooner this time. For now, I have to move over to my other WIP. Thank you for reading and for the support; it is much appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

this universe is amazing!!! i really love brian and justin's relationship here, it's so mature and hot, they still love each other so much! i didn't think i would like this story, it seemed there are too many new characters for my taste but you made all of them so unique and interesting, i love all of them! it's a great story, and great, superb chapter! love it!

Author's Response:

Aww..thank you for trusting in me to treat the boys correctly.;)  I'm glad you gave this one a chance.  I have really come to love Fin & Tony in this story as if they were regular characters from the show.  Thank you for reading and for the comments.  I will try very hard to get this updated again very soon.  *Hug*  ~Kim

Poor Tony, being the Gov's love isn't easy.  Things are looking up for Alex, hopefully she'll go with the flow.

Author's Response:

Hi, my friend. Thank you for sticking with this story, and for the comments. I know I've been so remiss in updating, but it feels good to get one posted at last. I will try hard to get it updated a lot sooner this time!  My teaching is over in seven weeks, so that will make it easier.  I'm glad you're still following this. Thank you for reading, and for the feedback; it is greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  Kim

Hi Kim,

I’m still following this great story ;  ) HA- I thought for a minute there Brian was going to fall asleep while Justin was giving him a massage and had to laugh at the comment “I’m in the mood for you to do some riding” since my story is right below yours, haha.

Yikes, poor Tony, I can’t even imagine how he feels being swarmed by the media first thing in the morning, or any time for that matter. It’s a good thing Marty came out and helped him get into the building, that would leave anyone with shaky legs.

Alex is a hard cookie to break, she has a lot of anger and resentment built up inside, but at the same time, I think, really just wants someone to love her and make her feel like she belongs somewhere. I have no doubt Justin and Brian will get through to her. BTW, I love her bedroom, and the cat ; )

As always a wonderful chapter, my friend : ) Hugs ~ Janet

Author's Response:

Hi, Janet! Ha - forgot about the cat in the photo.  Oops! I don't think we'll be introducing the cat into the story, though, or that will take me ANOTHER chapter to explain  LOL!  Yeah, the 'riding' did tie in together, didn't it?  Yee-haw!  I'm glad you're still following the story.  I felt so awful about not updating sooner, but hopefully the next time will be a lot faster.  Thank you for bearing with me in the meantime.  *Hugs*  ~Kim

So happy to see an update.  Great story.  We both have them being foster parents which is pretty funny.  I think they are going to have a tougher time with Alex.  Rea;;u enjoyed this chapter.  Bill

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and for the comments, Bill.  I know - I think you're right about Alex.  BTW, I'm really sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on your own story lately. It has been an extremely busy period for me right now; hence, the extreme gap in updating this. But I promise I will get caught up soon. I have missed reading your story! Thanks again, Bill, for your thoughtfulness; it is much appreciated.  *Hugs*  ~Kim
