This is a wonderful thought piece. I'm now well, well, well, into adulthood with grandchildren. But, I had a less than idyllic home life, and I can well remember my own 13 year old idealized crush on my a teacher. As a child looking for someone to just love me, I would gladly have followed him into all kinds of decadent activities. Thankfully, I didn't even have the opportunity, although at the time, I thought I was all grown up and knew it all. The idea of my daughters being in a situation like that? Oh, god.

Thank you for a very realistic piece of life, a very realistic reaction on Brian's part, and a little redemption (in my eyes) of an unfortunate episode in this character's life.
