It’s so nice to see you back. I wish I could get my mojo back, too. I’m proud of you! 

Even though I’m not a big fan of Michael, that doesn’t mean I approve of Axl and his abuse. Mikey might be a lot of things, but he still doesn’t deserve either mental or physical abuse. NOBODY does!

I’m so very happy for Nina, Blake, and of course, Teddy Man. That name is so precious. I can see Ted in that role.

I really hope that Lynette takes her daughter to a doctor, just to make sure and ease her mind. BECAUSE if there is any sign of abuse, the doctor would be the one to have to report it. It would be out of the women's hands.

OMG!!!!!  A new chapter!  I had given up after nearly 2 years and had decided not to pester you about my favorite story as I knew how hard it was for you to find the inspiration to continue writing it. I had decided to just love what you had given to us and appreciate the gift.  So imagine my complete surprise when I opened the site (which I hadn't checked in a few days) and saw a new chapter available for us.  I actually screamed my surprise and delight.  And it was a great chapter! 

It was great to get an update on everyone and what they were all doing.  Lindsay is going to cause trouble about Gus. Why is the first thought I had was that she will get out of the nut farm and take Brian & Justin to court about the fact that she wasn't in her right mind when she gave custody to Brian and Justin and wants him back?

Brad and his father are still complete assholes. I loved that Rob Mahan burned his misogynistic ass and lies about his mother's mental state to the ground and they haven't even gone to court yet. Brad is just plain evil but then he learned it from his gutter rat of a father. 

Am I evil that I just don't care if Michael is getting hurt or not? I would normally be concerned for someone that was being abused, but I have absolutely no pity or concern for him at all. Look at how he treated his husband all these years until a normally patient loving husband had had enough! Then when you get to all the pain and abuse he has handed out to EVERYONE including his mother and his BESTEST FRIEND, I just have no sympathy for him at all. I'm starting to think he deserves Axl and his abuse. I know, I'm evil too!

I loved how quickly Justin shut down the accusations from Frank Harkins and the dumbass deputy and how much Norm LOVED IT!  I was laughing through that whole thing. All the love and hugs and appreciation from the boys. Loved it.  I wonder what Harkins will try next?

YAY!!!  Ted and Blake got to finally adopt Nina!  Poor Ted so scared and nervous and I was so happy when the judge approved the adoption.  What a great little family they are and I loved all the support they got from everyone. So sweet.

I loved Jennifer ripping that disgusting Nancy to the core.  What a despicable pile of trash she truly is.  Hope that Peterson's disappear from Pittsburgh for good. I had to chuckle that Jennifer was disappointed she didn't get to confront her sister in order to get Granny's things.  That would have been fun to see Kate get shut down as only Jennifer can do.

Holly, thank you so much for your review.  It filled me with equal parts of guilt and gratitude.  So happy that you enjoyed the new chapter. In the past I read a comment (not on MW) that said the story had gotten boring.  That caused me to stop and think.  Took me a while (ok too long a while) before I felt like I could continue the story in the right way.  Also just a tiny bit of naggy from Kim.  Since we had such a nice response to our fundraising, I felt it was time to finish the update I have been working on.  Seems like some other folks, beside you, are happy to see the update.  Bill

I was so happy and surprised to see the purple banner on the Midnight Whispers recent updates page. I check it almost daily always hoping see the To Have and To Hold Forever purple banner.  It was a nice suprise. Thanks for updating!!!

Gus is such a wonderful, sweet, empathetic child. This isn't the first time he has realized that someone was upset, sad, hurt or scared. The fact that he understood his mommy was scared of her father and that he knew she didn't want him alone with him, is astonishing but at the same time not really suprising. He is very good at seeing when something isn't right.  I love that kid so much and how wonderfully you write him.

As soon as he asked if his grandfather had hurt his mother, I got this sick feeling in my stomach just like his Daddy and Papa did. I was so glad he was never molested. Thank you for not having him go through that.

I was shocked and never would have guessed you would bring Lynette into this story and I realized that I had never even thought about the fact that if Ron molested Linds, and harassed those women at work, that it was highly likely that he could have or would have done it to other children.  You really threw me a curveball. I got the feeling Jennifer felt like me, taken back that we were so naive to not even think that was a possibility. I'm glad that Jennifer relented and told Lynette what happened at that confrontation.

That was a great confrontation between Lynette and her husband against those sick selfish parents of hers. I was proud of her for standing up for her daughter and any other children that Ron is around and is at least trying to do something about it. I really loved calling her mother out for what she allowed to happen.  I think for the first time, I was actually glad see her brought into a fanfic. Very interesting twist.  I am wondering how this will affect her relationship with Lyndsay going forward.  Very interesting twist you have added to this story.  I look forward to finding out more.

How sweet was it that John invited Gus with him to hang out with Patrice and Bill for golf and pizza?!  John is just a good and caring young man.  

Thanks for the update!  I loved it, I cried reading it and I smiled at what a great love family the Taylor-Kinney is.

Happy to know you enjoyed this update.  I have to admit that I had no intension of bringing Lynnette into the story.  I had a whole different story line in mind for this chapter.  The Lynette story came from some obscure area of my brain.  I had a friend who had been sexually abused as a child.  He told me about keeping that memory isolated in his brain.  He had depression issues when in his 40's and his counselor said there was something he wasn't telling him.  My friend told counselor about the abuse and told me he could never lock it away again after he disclosed it.  I worked with a guy who told me his brother would sometimes take him on "dates" with girls counting on younger brother's cuteness factor to help relationship.  John taking him along was to show Patrice what a good cousin he was to cute Gus. Thanks for always letting me know what you think of new chapters.  I appreciate it.  Bill

i want to be clear how i feel about limdz. she gets NO sympathy from me at all. she always stirred the pot between mel and briank trying to get brian away from justin and on her side.like michael, she was never a real friend to brian but she was sneaker about her feelings that michael is. they are both disgusting.looks like both are living with the karma they richly deserve and they deserve every bit of it; if brian steps up  with lindz as mel pulls back, im gonna be really unhappy about that and will lose whatever respect i have left for brian. brian has been on shaky ground with me thruout most of this story. if anyone deserves symapthy, it is joan. she was always upfront about how she felt  about brian being gay, didn't lie to him to get more from him, and was stuck in her own personal hell and didn't have the strength or ability to get away from brian's dad to make a better life for herself. lindsay did everything she could, plotting and scheming all the way to get justin out of brian's life and so did michael. big defference...

Lindsay is my least favorite character.  I agree that she always played Mel & Brian against each other.  That started with insisting Brian father her baby.  Not a big Michael fab but I never felt he was trying to hurt anyone but he is just unable or unwilling to accept any change. I wouldn't worry about Brian starting to champion Lindsay.  I could not disagree more about Joan.  She allowed her husband to terrorize her son just because it was easier.  That is NOT a mother.  Rejecting a child because they are gay is just wrong!  She is not absorbing any of Christ's teachings from her Bible; no leaving judgement to the heavenly father not loving our neighbor as ourselves.  Christ champions the outsiders of Jewish society while he was on earth.  Jennifer was not happy to discover that Justin was gay but her maternal love allowed her to accept it. She refused to help her grandsons when they needed someone.  I find Joan to despicable.  Glad you enjoy the story and hope to have an update posted soon.  I enjoy hearing readers' opinions even when we don't agree so thanks for sharing.  Bill

I am so happy you found the inspiration as I was missing this one so much, so thank you for the update!!    This was a good chapter with a lot going on.   

I'm glad that Janet is finally seeing the error of her ways and is determined to make positive changes.   I think it'll do her good to become more involved with Brian, Justin and their family.   

I can't see any good coming from Lindsay trying to see Gus, as she could really confuse him.    In addition, its great that she's improving, but I don't think she even knows that Brian and Justin have full custody of Gus and I can't see it going well once she is told about that little development.  I think Brian and Justin talking with the psychologist about it as well is a good thing, too.

first of all, please thank your muse for finally getting her ass back on your shoulder! 

i'm also very glad to see some of these arcs working toward resolution. so happy for blake and ted and ninia and her grandmothner looking to be able to finally be a real family, permanently. 

secondly, i'm glad to see craig's mother starting to see the reality of her blind accepance to her husgand and son's treatment of Justin and grateful to granny that she's let her know how much blame is on her shoulders for the lack of instant acceptance back into justin's life and the kenny-taylor lives in general.granny is right... that woman shares in the blame of their treatment of justin and his family by never acknowledging how bigoted and hateful they were since justin announced he was gay.

and lindsey is just gonna have to figure out what to do with her life if she improves enough to to be released. mel was a bitch, but lindsey did a lot of egging on to keep everyone at each other's throats, and sometimes you really do have to pay for what you''ve done. she could always hook up with the woman from college who had a thing for her and move to aiizona to be with her. or mone in with her parents... they deserve her in all her ugliness... as long a brian doesn't spend another penny on her, i'm happy.'

and between granny, jen and brian and justin, i'm sure they will manage to help gus navigate lindsey's nonsense and come thru emothinally safe to the other side of this mess. if she doesn't really improve, i could see her easily taking the easy way out and committing suicide... she's never had to face being on her own and probably won't really be able to get on her own two feet and be emothinally healty. all she knows is people taking care of her so i doubt she'll develope the skills she needs to come out of this a  decent person.

please give you muse candy and flowers so we get another chapter soon...

I started several versions of this chapter and deleted them, finally was able to get something I likes.  I will be honest and say I found your previous comments a little harsh.  Happy you enjpyed this latest chapter.  I have known women like Janet who accepted a subservient role in their marriage.  One husband lied to his wife about what his salary was and she worked full time.  I guess she signed blank tax forms.  When he retired he let her know how much money he had socked away.  She was a little miffed but mostly grateful they were so well off finacially - WOW!  I also know mothers who cut off their daughters when she announced she was gay.  The world is a strange place.  A lot of situations I have used over the years have come from my life experience.  I am not sure of Lindsay's ultimate fate.  One abandoned chapter did have her taking her own life.  i thought that would be hard for Gus to acceept. Lindsay has always been my least favorite charaster - very selfish.  I think we all know of cases where people were never able to overcome childhood.  Others, like Brian, are able to rise above their abusive childhood.  he did have a safe haven with Debbie & Vic.  Granny and Grandmom Jen are always ready to look out for all their boys as well as Brian's Princess.  Hope to not have such a long gap between updates.  Thanks for the review,  Bill

I admit, I had come to the belief that you had decided not to continue this story and I have been very very sad about it. So you can imagine how overjoyed I was to see this update when I checked the boards today!!!  YAY!!!  I'm so glad you were blessed with inspiration to continue. Thank you!!

I am glad Janet has decided what she wants and has finally understood about what a love family truly means. She seems determined to prove herself worthy of being included in this family. I hope she succeeds and truly means what she is saying. But, I completely understand the family's concern in trusting her. But only love, faith and truth will prove it. I'm anxious to find out if it will happen, or will she end up failing. 

Glad to see she is making decisions and seems to be setting up her new future by going to the bank and seeing a lawyer. I'm very concerned about how her husband and son are going to react to her filing for divorce. I fear for her and hope they can't bully her back into their realm of hatred and abuse.

I'm glad that Mel seems to be seeing things a little clearer now, thanks to Leda who is a great source of trying to see both sides. I'm glad that JR is happier and is improving in her school work.  I was also happy that Gus & JR were happy to see each other.

I thought the way you wrote the scenes with Mel, Leda and Brian & Justin was very true, filled with so much tenseness and unsureness. I'm glad Mel realizes what her actions have made Gus feel. And I thought it was true how Gus really didn't want to have anything to do with Mel and his anxiousness about it. His decision to pretty much ignore her and just concentrate on JR was so telling that he didn't trust her. I'm not sure I expressed myself very well, but I was definitely moved by that scene and the way Gus ended up dealing with the moment.

I am deeply concerned about Lindsey and how her insanity will affect Gus and what havoc she will try to wreck on Kinney-Taylor love family. I was kind of hoping we wouldn't have to deal with her again. But at the same time she does bring the drama with her which all great sagas need.  I hope whatever decision they make Gus will be okay.

I am so happy that it looks like Ted & Blake's desire to adopt Nina and they can be an official family for good.  They are such a wonderful little family and it would break all of their hearts and mine if they don't get to keep her. Glad the other couple does not have a good chance of taking her away. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Loved loved the update and can't wait to read more!!!  Soon??????

Sorry it took so long.  I started this update in 2023 but was just stuck on how to continue.  Glad you are not holding a grudge and that you enjoyed the update.  I didn't feel I could just abandon Lindsay but didn't know what to do woith her, still not sure.  Thanks for the kind words about the meeting of B&J with M&L, that went thru quite a few versiobs before the final.  Hoping to keep the inspiration alive andhave an update before too long.  Thanks for the review!!!!!  Bill
