I was so happy and surprised to see the purple banner on the Midnight Whispers recent updates page. I check it almost daily always hoping see the To Have and To Hold Forever purple banner.  It was a nice suprise. Thanks for updating!!!

Gus is such a wonderful, sweet, empathetic child. This isn't the first time he has realized that someone was upset, sad, hurt or scared. The fact that he understood his mommy was scared of her father and that he knew she didn't want him alone with him, is astonishing but at the same time not really suprising. He is very good at seeing when something isn't right.  I love that kid so much and how wonderfully you write him.

As soon as he asked if his grandfather had hurt his mother, I got this sick feeling in my stomach just like his Daddy and Papa did. I was so glad he was never molested. Thank you for not having him go through that.

I was shocked and never would have guessed you would bring Lynette into this story and I realized that I had never even thought about the fact that if Ron molested Linds, and harassed those women at work, that it was highly likely that he could have or would have done it to other children.  You really threw me a curveball. I got the feeling Jennifer felt like me, taken back that we were so naive to not even think that was a possibility. I'm glad that Jennifer relented and told Lynette what happened at that confrontation.

That was a great confrontation between Lynette and her husband against those sick selfish parents of hers. I was proud of her for standing up for her daughter and any other children that Ron is around and is at least trying to do something about it. I really loved calling her mother out for what she allowed to happen.  I think for the first time, I was actually glad see her brought into a fanfic. Very interesting twist.  I am wondering how this will affect her relationship with Lyndsay going forward.  Very interesting twist you have added to this story.  I look forward to finding out more.

How sweet was it that John invited Gus with him to hang out with Patrice and Bill for golf and pizza?!  John is just a good and caring young man.

Happy to know you enjoyed this update.  I have to admit that I had no intension of bringing Lynnette into the story.  I had a whole different story line in mind for this chapter.  The Lynette story came from some obscure area of my brain.  I had a friend who had been sexually abused as a child.  He told me about keeping that memory isolated in his brain.  He had depression issues when in his 40's and his counselor said there was something he wasn't telling him.  My friend told counselor about the abuse and told me he could never lock it away again after he disclosed it.  I worked with a guy who told me his brother would sometimes take him on "dates" with girls counting on younger brother's cuteness factor to help relationship.  John taking him along was to show Patrice what a good cousin he was to cute Gus. Thanks for always letting me know what you think of new chapters.  I appreciate it.  Bill

i want to be clear how i feel about limdz. she gets NO sympathy from me at all. she always stirred the pot between mel and briank trying to get brian away from justin and on her side.like michael, she was never a real friend to brian but she was sneaker about her feelings that michael is. they are both disgusting.looks like both are living with the karma they richly deserve and they deserve every bit of it; if brian steps up  with lindz as mel pulls back, im gonna be really unhappy about that and will lose whatever respect i have left for brian. brian has been on shaky ground with me thruout most of this story. if anyone deserves symapthy, it is joan. she was always upfront about how she felt  about brian being gay, didn't lie to him to get more from him, and was stuck in her own personal hell and didn't have the strength or ability to get away from brian's dad to make a better life for herself. lindsay did everything she could, plotting and scheming all the way to get justin out of brian's life and so did michael. big defference...

Lindsay is my least favorite character.  I agree that she always played Mel & Brian against each other.  That started with insisting Brian father her baby.  Not a big Michael fab but I never felt he was trying to hurt anyone but he is just unable or unwilling to accept any change. I wouldn't worry about Brian starting to champion Lindsay.  I could not disagree more about Joan.  She allowed her husband to terrorize her son just because it was easier.  That is NOT a mother.  Rejecting a child because they are gay is just wrong!  She is not absorbing any of Christ's teachings from her Bible; no leaving judgement to the heavenly father not loving our neighbor as ourselves.  Christ champions the outsiders of Jewish society while he was on earth.  Jennifer was not happy to discover that Justin was gay but her maternal love allowed her to accept it. She refused to help her grandsons when they needed someone.  I find Joan to despicable.  Glad you enjoy the story and hope to have an update posted soon.  I enjoy hearing readers' opinions even when we don't agree so thanks for sharing.  Bill

I'm glad that Janet is finally seeing the error of her ways and is determined to make positive changes.   I think it'll do her good to become more involved with Brian, Justin and their family.   

I can't see any good coming from Lindsay trying to see Gus, as she could really confuse him.    In addition, its great that she's improving, but I don't think she even knows that Brian and Justin have full custody of Gus and I can't see it going well once she is told about that little development.  I think Brian and Justin talking with the psychologist about it as well is a good thing, too.

i'm also very glad to see some of these arcs working toward resolution. so happy for blake and ted and ninia and her grandmothner looking to be able to finally be a real family, permanently. 

secondly, i'm glad to see craig's mother starting to see the reality of her blind accepance to her husgand and son's treatment of Justin and grateful to granny that she's let her know how much blame is on her shoulders for the lack of instant acceptance back into justin's life and the kenny-taylor lives in general.granny is right... that woman shares in the blame of their treatment of justin and his family by never acknowledging how bigoted and hateful they were since justin announced he was gay.

and lindsey is just gonna have to figure out what to do with her life if she improves enough to to be released. mel was a bitch, but lindsey did a lot of egging on to keep everyone at each other's throats, and sometimes you really do have to pay for what you''ve done. she could always hook up with the woman from college who had a thing for her and move to aiizona to be with her. or mone in with her parents... they deserve her in all her ugliness... as long a brian doesn't spend another penny on her, i'm happy.'

and between granny, jen and brian and justin, i'm sure they will manage to help gus navigate lindsey's nonsense and come thru emothinally safe to the other side of this mess. if she doesn't really improve, i could see her easily taking the easy way out and committing suicide... she's never had to face being on her own and probably won't really be able to get on her own two feet and be emothinally healty. all she knows is people taking care of her so i doubt she'll develope the skills she needs to come out of this a  decent person.

I started several versions of this chapter and deleted them, finally was able to get something I likes.  I will be honest and say I found your previous comments a little harsh.  Happy you enjpyed this latest chapter.  I have known women like Janet who accepted a subservient role in their marriage.  One husband lied to his wife about what his salary was and she worked full time.  I guess she signed blank tax forms.  When he retired he let her know how much money he had socked away.  She was a little miffed but mostly grateful they were so well off finacially - WOW!  I also know mothers who cut off their daughters when she announced she was gay.  The world is a strange place.  A lot of situations I have used over the years have come from my life experience.  I am not sure of Lindsay's ultimate fate.  One abandoned chapter did have her taking her own life.  i thought that would be hard for Gus to acceept. Lindsay has always been my least favorite charaster - very selfish.  I think we all know of cases where people were never able to overcome childhood.  Others, like Brian, are able to rise above their abusive childhood.  he did have a safe haven with Debbie & Vic.  Granny and Grandmom Jen are always ready to look out for all their boys as well as Brian's Princess.  Hope to not have such a long gap between updates.  Thanks for the review,  Bill

I admit, I had come to the belief that you had decided not to continue this story and I have been very very sad about it. So you can imagine how overjoyed I was to see this update when I checked the boards today!!!  YAY!!!  I'm so glad you were blessed with inspiration to continue. Thank you!!

I am glad Janet has decided what she wants and has finally understood about what a love family truly means. She seems determined to prove herself worthy of being included in this family. I hope she succeeds and truly means what she is saying. But, I completely understand the family's concern in trusting her. But only love, faith and truth will prove it. I'm anxious to find out if it will happen, or will she end up failing. 

Glad to see she is making decisions and seems to be setting up her new future by going to the bank and seeing a lawyer. I'm very concerned about how her husband and son are going to react to her filing for divorce. I fear for her and hope they can't bully her back into their realm of hatred and abuse.

I'm glad that Mel seems to be seeing things a little clearer now, thanks to Leda who is a great source of trying to see both sides. I'm glad that JR is happier and is improving in her school work.  I was also happy that Gus & JR were happy to see each other.

I thought the way you wrote the scenes with Mel, Leda and Brian & Justin was very true, filled with so much tenseness and unsureness. I'm glad Mel realizes what her actions have made Gus feel. And I thought it was true how Gus really didn't want to have anything to do with Mel and his anxiousness about it. His decision to pretty much ignore her and just concentrate on JR was so telling that he didn't trust her. I'm not sure I expressed myself very well, but I was definitely moved by that scene and the way Gus ended up dealing with the moment.

I am deeply concerned about Lindsey and how her insanity will affect Gus and what havoc she will try to wreck on Kinney-Taylor love family. I was kind of hoping we wouldn't have to deal with her again. But at the same time she does bring the drama with her which all great sagas need.  I hope whatever decision they make Gus will be okay.

I am so happy that it looks like Ted & Blake's desire to adopt Nina and they can be an official family for good.  They are such a wonderful little family and it would break all of their hearts and mine if they don't get to keep her. Glad the other couple does not have a good chance of taking her away. Keeping my fingers crossed.

children, unfortunately, have to experience the death of a parent when young. brian and justin will help him thru it more than many families would be able to do as they are so dedicated and determined to be there for gus, and all the kids. and debbie, carl and joey will be there for jr...and hopefully mel and the new "aunt" also. the kids are surrounded by people who love and care for them and would no doubt get thru it better than a lot of other kids...  

i think grandmother taylor is too little too late. i agree with what brian told her about her past behavior to justin, jen and molly and and i would let her find someone else to come to her rescue now that she only sort of had her come-to-jesus epiphany, which i doubt has staying power. maybe brian will build another garage apt for her...

axl...another chance for michael to make a total fool of himself...gag me with a spoon.

so who's gonna pick up the tab for lindsey's apparent long term care? probably good old brian... don't think anyone else is interested enough and why he would be is beyond me.

YAY! A new chapter, it went by too fast because I was missing it so much.  Sigh, I will just have to read it again and again (as if I don't do that already LOL)!

Poor Ted! I hope all goes well with the adoption and there is little to no problems with Ted and Blake's pasts. I hope they get good news quickly and I hope that Viola is doing okay.

I'm glad that the "bullying" Gus went through is hopefully over. I loved that Bob's mother, Joyce, immediately had a talk with her son and that he seems (hopefully) to understand what he did was wrong. I liked how she handled it, how everyone handled it, even John who was ready to protect Gus. I never would have believed that I would love the nephews as much as I do. You do a great job with them.

I was a little worried about Janet not making good decisions, but she seems to have figured out (thanks to Jennifer and Brian) what she needs to do to sincerely be accepted in Justin's love family. I hope she doesn't backslide and keeps on the right track. I am glad the family is giving her a chance to prove herself.  Hopefully she doesn't hurt Justin again.

Can I just say how much I love Gus. He is just wonderful!

Dumbass Michael. Why is he so freaking stupid? Axl could wear a sign around his neck that says "I'm just using you DumbAss!!!"  Draw pictures in bright color crayons with the same message and tape it to Michael's face and Michael still won't understand that Axl is just using and hurting him. Or...like the comic book moronic villain he truly is, he does understand and will try to use it to get Brian to feel sorry for him.

You do remember I hate Michael, right?  And I want only bad things to happen to him, but nothing that will have anyone actually feel sorry for him.  Yes, I am trying to be a villain too!!

Starting at the end and working backwards I think Leda  and Mel took longer then I thought they would.

I am so glad Gus has that relationship with his Papa where he can tell him anything and Papa will try to either help him fix it or make a call to get it fixed.

Gotta love the construction crew thinking Justin is a pushover wrong wrong wrong.

Brian loves those babies more then he can express in words they hurt he hurts. I love that side of him. The fact that Granny sees it and Brian is ok with that is amazing. I like the favorite foods as a reward for showing his feelings.

I am curious about a few things for the next chapter what will happen to Lindsay, how Justin handles Gus being bullied with the school and does he tell Nrian before or after he takes care of it. Maybe there needs to be some sort of meet up between Janet and Brian so we can see how that is or isn't going to work.

I think Leda is mindful of the situation and cautious about getting to involved but affairs of the heart don't always encourage careful thinking.  Janet has some decisions to make and behavior to improve before she is accepted by the Pittsburgh family.  Harry learned his lesson about Justin and he now has protective Brian watching him.  Brian doesn't like anyone giving his Sunshine hard time.  Brian is kind a marshmellow inside a steel hull.  Brian always want to stay on Mother Taylor's good side and he has said a couple times that Granny is like Jennifer on steroids.  Linds is a tough one, mot sure what is going to happen there.  I think the Washington Academy is about to get a visit or call from Gus'a Daddy.  Jennifer is going to prptect her "boys", Janet will have to demonstrate total acceptance before Jennifer allwos her to interact with the family.  I always look forward to your reviews!!!!!!   Thanks,  Bill

Yay! A new chapter! You know happy it makes me to get a new chapter of this fic.

Loved that Brian allowed his family to show their love for him. Had to laugh that John stayed away from the group hug that Brian allowed LOL. John is so much like Brian.

I have to admit I was disappointed in Janet, as was Jennifer. Glad Jennifer told her what her family expects in order for them to accept her.  All she has to do is accept all of her (Jennifer) family. I was hoping that Janet had already learned that at the christening when Granny made an obvious hint about accepting Gus & Kevin. I was really hoping that she would fully accept them all. Hopefully she will come around and will accept and give all the love this wonderful surrounds themself with.

Gotta love how Jennifer doesn't suffer fools gladly and tells people exactly how things truly are and what will be accepted and what will get someone locked out of her family.

I love the relationship between Gus and Justin and how Gus knows he can always talk to Justin.  I hate that Gus already has to deal with a bully, but love that Gus has already made some friends. Hopefully Brian & Justin can deal with the idiot Harkins bully and rid that school of anyone connected to the Harkins (who I think are all sociopaths).

I was glad to read that the new garage/apartment/shed is progressing along even if Justin has to keep the foreman aware of what the plans actually say instead of what he thinks he remembers but apparantly too arrogant to doublecheck the plan.

I don't know how I feel about Mel. I have waited all day to post this review trying to get my mind around how I feel about her and her situation. But I am so conflicted. I'm not sure how I feel about Leda & Mel getting it on. I'm kind of disappointed in Leda not sticking to her "only a friend" status. I feel like Mel is just using her. I mean, even though Mel was home, she still left getting JR bathed and put to bed all up to Leda, like Leda is her nanny/housekeeper. Maybe the "day after" will clear some things up for me.

Another great chapter Bill. I can't wait for the next one!!!

Glad to make you happy.  The Kinney genes are strong in John!  Jennifer never lets anyone wonder how she feels about her family and is never willing to accept prejudice.  Gus loves his Papa and trusts him to help him solve any issues.  Gus understands bullies and what awful people there are.  He experieced Joe at John's birthday party and the Lucce kid & father while trick or treating.  Granny was proud that her "darling boy" was more than abke to stand up for himself.  Mel, Linds and Leda situation is one that makes a happy ending difficult.  Thanks for the nice review, glad you are still enjoying the story and I am feeling good.  Bill

This chapter was best in the parts with Gus worrying about his brother and Brian showing emotion and running off to hide that he had them...

Trying to figure out the new guy Axl will be interesting. I only hope he steers clear of Michael just so there is less Michael.

I am trying to figure out if Jennifer is a sucker when it comes to Janet. I guess if she is Brian will finish off the rest of Craig's family...

I want a status update on the garage and apartment build and more Justin, Brian and the kids time.

Thanks for the update! Brian finds it more and more difficult to hide his emotions, especially with his family, I like this development. Having children makes him more "vulnerable" so much he loves them. Axl looks like a profiteer I hope little Mykey gets run over he's such an idiot. Thanks for the review!!!  I think Brian is horrified by his inability to hide his emotions.  He has difficulty dealing with anyone he loves being sick or hurt.  He never had to deal with a sick baby Gus, the muchers took care of that.  Helpless sick babies can melt the hardest heart or crack the strongest protective wall around the heart.  I think maybe you are absolutely correct about Axl.  Janet' storyline is still percolating.  Thanks for all your support.  Bill

This was a great update Bill!!   It certainly seems that Brad and his father are helping Janet's case, what with his admission of the fathers slapping her as well as following and threatening her at the motel in front of the police.     I did think it was very nice of Brian and Justin to offer Janet the use of the loft.   And Michael, I'm sure will be in for a rude awakening when it comes to Axl; he is just looking to get more acquainted with the gay community, and not him.    And if Michael expects Brian and Justin to be at Babylon a long with Emmett and Rusty, he is truly mistaken.    LOL

I was so happy to see a new chapter of my favorite fic!  I had so many emotions reading this chapter.

First of all, when Janet showed up, I was surprised but felt she had made some hard decisions and I was actually proud that she had made those decisions.

Second, my heart broke when Brian lit into Janet about all the disappointments Justin had suffered at her family's hands. I could feel his pain and it made tears cloud my eyes.

Third, I am anxious for Ted & Blake to adopt Nina. I hope all goes well. Fingers crossed.

Fourth, anger was running hot at Bully Brad's misogynistic lies about menopause being the root of Janet actions of getting away from Ken.  

Fifth, I was shocked that Melanie left Brian & Justin on the school pickup list for JR. Is Mel finally seeing they aren't the root of all evil or is this just for selfish reasons in case she needs them to take care of JR again?

Sixth, I was happy Mark is finally able to get his car when Alan gave up. Laughed when he talked about paying B&J back. LOL Yeah, like that is going to happen.

Seventh, I was absolutely disgusted by Bully Brad's intimidating tactics in Jenn's office and his opinion a slap is not abuse.  

And finally, I was so proud of how Jenn stood her ground and protected Janet from Bully Brad and sent him on his way.

As you can see, I ran the gamut of emotions. I can't wait to see what happens next. Thank you for another great chapter! I will impatiently be waiting for new chapter soon!!

Always glad to see your review, they make me smile.  I think Janet got so unhappy with her life that she had to make hard decsions.  It had to be a hard thing to do.  Brian is just slightly obssessed with Justin, he hate to see him unhappy.  Viola is pretty determined to see Daddy Balke and Teddy Man raise Nina.  It is a good decision to make ahead on thr adoption while she is still able to make her wishes known.  I think some stress had been lifted from Melanie and she is thinking a little mlre rationally, can't be sure how long it will last.   Brad is an ignorant, bigoted idiot.  I think when Alan spoke to a couple lawyers he realized there was no way he could keep the car.  Normal people understad that a slap is abuse, Brad not so much.  Jennifer is not given to bukling under to people she dislikes or doesn't trust.  I just love your review, it make me proud that you were so moved by my story.  Thanks,  Bill

Sweet Baboo, just when I think Mark's parents can't get any worse they then raise the bar of their stupidity! Hope if it goes to court the judge tells the bigot off and he loses and ends up with court cost! Bet Gus looked adorable dressed like his daddy...he's so much like his dada and has sweetness Brian would have had if he hadn't been raised by wolveas or worse. Bet Brian suddered the entire time at the car dealership yellow car with brown upolstrey! Gus singing and dancing at the babies was so sweet, his daddy and papa made sure when the babies arrived Gus absolutly certain of their love and showed love for his baby brother and sister instead of jealousy. Wish Mel could understand that Linz is the reason she hates Brian, she pitted Mel and Brian against each other enjoying them fighting over her making her feel I don't think that had anything to do with her illness. I hope Mel will come see Gus (after checking with Brian no one needs a surprise drop in, leave that to mikey....he's a fool)I love this story and the growth of the family. Mark’s parents suck and I kind of want them to find a lawyer who will then have his ass handed to him and Marks parents will have to pay Mark’s legal fees, yes I know technically he won’t have any

I have no sympathy for Mel she had chances she blew them and now no one cares about her though they do worry about JR

I hope Viola’s treatment works but if not she can see her granddaughter will be raised by people who love her.

I was curious Mikey had nothing negative to say about Gus at KINNETIC

I was amazed at how much happened in this chapter now I can’t wait for Gus’s first day at his new school.

Happy to see you are still reviewing and letting me know what you think.  As i mentioned in another review; a long-time reviewer who has been with me from the start had stopped leaving reviews.  I took that as a sign that it might be time to wind up this saga.  I don't think Alan will want to spend money for a lawyer with so little chance to get his way.  Mel is not really equipped to be a hands-on mother.  I think her vision was always from Lindsay to provide most childcare but that is not going to happen.  I think Ted and Blake need to get to work on adoption.  The odds are not with Viola having a long life.  I think Gus's time at Washington Academy will be interesting.  Thanks for all your reviews and encouragement.  Bill

Thank you Bill for this long awaited update. Other than Jennifer the parents are complete shit. I speak of the family of course not those of the friends of the children. For a moment I thought that Mélanie was going to attack JR to silence her! Will she finally come back to reality now that Lindsay is no longer there to influence her? Viola is making the right decision but I hope she will be fine after her treatment. John, having so much fun with Gus, needs to catch up on some of his rotten childhood. Just saw your FB message.  I have no idea how I skipped over your review.  Jennifer doesn't have much competition on good parenting front.  Alan and Craig would probably have gotten along really well.  Poor JR really lost out in the parents sweepstakes.  I think Mel woulld like to be a kind & involved mother but it is not her forte. Wow! Mark's father is such a bigoted a$$hole.  Poor Mark! Can you imagine your own father wanting you arrested for stealing a car you paid for yourself just because you were making up your own mind about what you want in life????  Loved the neighbor and how he told Alan off.

Loved the scenes with John and Gus. Such bonding moments and how sweet is John to go with yellow since Gus loved it so much. Glad that Gus was happy about his hot wheels and tracks and didn't seemed bothered by getting them from Mel. He didn't seem to dwell on what that means in regards to Mel.

I was wondering what was happening with Ted & Blake adopting Nina. I'm glad Viola took that by the horns and told Ted to get the adoption done. How said that she has to go through chemo again. I hope it works.

Hi Holly, not too much time has passed in this long saga, but I have been writing it for almost 9 years, Started by posting it on fanfiction before Predec2 suggested I post here.  She was a big help to me in the beginning and encouraged a first-time author.  Her stories are the one that inspired me to write my own.  Never thought it would last this long.  Inspiration just doesn't some as quickly as it once did.  I hope to continue but updates will be spaced out.  Alan is a piece of work but I honestly think this is how some people behave in real life.  He wants to control his son and his life but adults have to live their own lives.  Sadly I think Gus feels let down by his mothers.  His security now come from being with his fathers and other family members.  Brian and Justin led Gus to believe that Mel wanted him to have his toys.  John is a born caregiver always looked out for his younger brother and loves helping with Lily & Liam.  I'm sure he is flattered by the hero worship Gus has for him.  It was very sweet if him to let Gus pick the color of the car.  I think that playing hit wheels with Gus helped John have some child play time he missed out on with Claire as a mother.  I'm pretty sure Ted and Blake will start adoption proceedings.  Thanks for all your kind comments and encouragement.  I really appreciate it!!!!!! Another wonderful chapter! Leda who like many before her puts Mel in front of reality. Will she react now? She is so locked in her beliefs. JR who sends his father back into the nets what joy! She is small but understands who takes care of her or not. Brian made my day, finally he tells Michael how disappointed he is with his behavior. He and Mel can cry together if they don't change. great chapter! brian finally is looking at michael clearly and treating him more as he should be treated... very happy about that.

also think leda is the best thing to ever happen to me and hope that continues on.

and loved the way JR put michael in his place, with the honesty that only children seem to have.

kudos to mark for being in total agreement with molly and her family over the wedding talk.

his brother also seems to have found some common sense and brotherly llove. hope he realizes how idiotic it is for him to expect mark to help pay to be able to visit with him and his wife.

overall, very happy with the way things are going. also happy that granny and kevin, much as i love them, are no longer always dominating the story so much. 

was really surprised michael pretty much behaved himself and didn't have a fit at the way brian treated his "best friend"...

it worked out for the best i think, altho debbie was out of place allowing michael to come along. it's clear she knew the issues with brian forcing michael to pay a tiny bit of support to jr and that brian wasn't happy with him so i think she was wrong to allow him to come... but as i said, brian handled it well and properly and debbie could surely see that too.

Brian has seen Mikey clearly for a while.  Mikey just continues to believe he is right and the world is wrong.  Brian has too much history and memorries with Mikey to cut him off but that time may come.  JR is her mother's daughter and always speaks her mind.  Mark knows that Molly is his way forward to a happy life.  Debbie always had a hard time saying  NO to her son even when she knows he is wrong.  Thanks for you comment, they are always interesting!!!  Bill

Loved the update!!   Well, Leda is definitely a breath of fresh air and I'm thinking someone has maybe, finally gotten through to Mel.    She really spelled it out for her how much everybody has stepped up to help her in one way or the other, and it basically means nothing to Mel, who feels she should be able to live her life the way she wants without any interference, and if you do help her, she doesn't acknowledge or appreciate it.   

I thought it was very sweet of Justin to ask if JR could come to the barbecue.    And even at her young age, she knows who is or isn't doing anything for her.   She's got Ben, Justin, Brian, Emmett, Debbie, Carl and Joe, and even recently Leda, but her own parents, Mel and Michael, do the absolute least.   How sad is that??

Leda doesn't have any connection to Brian or Justin, so Mel knows that what Leda says is her own opinions.  I think Brian and Justin care about JR, they just don't feel responsible for her.  Poor JR lost at the lottery of parents.  Thanks for the review!!  Bill

hi Sweet Baboo,  I just typed the wrong word, one of my senior moments.Between brain farts, senior moments, and melt downs I'm really going crazy (didn't have far to go)I decided to change my home a little back in September still at ! Kitchen,dining room,living room and den. I must have been high from the smell of icey hot. It's 95% done but so am I. you'll always be my Sweet Baboo even when I'm in a straight jacket. Great chapter!  Wow!  Molly's future in-laws are a piece of work!  They are so homophobic and opinionated.  Glad Mark supported Molly.  I thought it was so awesome that they were so in tune and on the same page about the christening.

If Craig hadn't departed this life, he and Mark's parets could have had their own wedding reception.  I think Mark hoped that his parents might be more agreeable after hearing that he and Molly had sensible plans about their marriage.  Glad you approve of the godparents.  Brian is firm about protecting Gus from Joan.  Gus has kind of accepted his mothers are not great parents.  I think he will be happy to have his toys, he probably misses them.  I expect the christening will be in the next chapter.  Another review where you approve of everything, you are going to spoil me!!!!  Thanks,  Bill

and interestingly, when she "reluctantly" accepted joe's covering pre-school for jr, she is now evidently letting him pay for the whole thing and not contributing anything herself... altho the whole thing started with her trying to find a pre-school she could afford..... interesting that now she can't seem to afford anything towards daycare..... the more ya look, the more ya find....

We disagree about Debbie and Joe's cash.  She gets money to care for Joe that she had been saving for Joe's future but he wanted to help JR.

debbie knows very well that micael has never contributed to jr's support and has done nothing serious about it. she seems perfectly happy letting others support her and let michael skate. if it really bothered her, she'd have ripped him a new one a long time ago... she grumbles about michael not doing his share, but that is as far as it goes...

Mothers and sons have complicted relationships.  As a single mom Debbie always wanted to protect her son.  Old habits die hard.  I had an aunt who often spoke her son's name with a "poor" in front of it.  There was nothing poor about him!

Great update.  I loved that Molly just told Justin she was having the wedding there, not giving him a choice.  She is a voice to recon with0 ( She doesn't need to learn from Cynthia)

mark really likes molly's whole family so i think if his parents try to cause trouble he will distance from them.

i will say i think molly is acting very entitled to just tell b/j she's having her wedding there. it's only polite to ask even if she's sure they would welcome her having the wedding there. thought she was raised better than that...

$100 a month is a total joke but at least it's something. michael also should have a life insurance policy on himself for JR if something were to happen to him... and i could only hope...

i think david is getting the idea that he needs to man up and take care of business where andrea and jay are concerned. sounds like he's always been a weak sister, letting andrea run over him. it's actually surprising he had the balls to divorce her...

i agree it's time for justin to quit being so hypocritical of the age difference between him mother and her husband...

linds just needs to get better enough to have mel divorce her. she can run to that old girlfriend, carolyn, from college who is rich enough to support her and has an art gallery in arizona i think, as she did in another story. or commit suicide... anything so brian doesn't wind up supporting her and she gets out of mel's hair.

i actually think mel and leda might be good for each other. mel needs someone to show her how to be a better parent to JR and make her do it. mel loves JR and i do think she'd be a good parent if she got some "encouragement".

I am so sorry not to have replied to this review.  Not sure how I missed it.  I agree that Mark enjoys Molly's family and it is very different than his, in many ways!  Molly knows Brian very well, she was sure he would agree to anything she wanted.  $100 is still better than zero.  David is kind of a wimp but knows he needs to peovide some support for his son and allow him to grow up.  I don't think Linds is really up to making any plans.  Mel needs help to be a good parent.  At least Leda is shlwing her the way.  Again I apologize for my tardy reple!!!  Bill

Thank you for the new chapter. I just realized that I neglected to review your last chapter. I apologize for that, life has just been really time consuming.

So many things, small things, but many things happened in this chapter but I think maybe the overall theme is that most of the characters are finally taking a good look at their own or other's behavior.

• Justin speaking up for Jay, even if it pissed David off.
• David realizing he has been leaving Jay to Andrea's control issues and finally standing up for his son.
• Leda helping Mel out but also putting her foot down that Mel couldn't hide away from her daughter by claiming work.
• Leda acknowledging that Gus needs his toys and boxing some of them up.
• Nina getting tired of JRs bossiness.
• Brian finally acknowledging or rather not excusing Michael's selfish dead-beat fatherhood life.

David is once again being forced to look at the fact that he has pretty much abandoned his son to Andrea's control and seems to finally see that is wrong and has now confronted her. But he's said this before and nothing became of it. Hopefully he follows through this time.

I really liked Leda and how strong she is and how determined she is for Mel to do right. Loved she thought of Gus and JR and made Mel actually parent her child, if only for one night. Hope she keeps pushing that agenda.

Loved Grandpop Tucker and how much he loves this family. I wish Justin would get over his hypocrisy and truly welcome Tucker in instead of just lip service he's been doing. At some point (I'm past that point) it just makes him look like an idiot.

I'm concerned about Molly's wedding. I hope Mark backs her up where his homophobic parents are concerned. I do love how certain she is of her family (including Brian) love and support her.

I think the end of the year is always a busy time, glad your comments are back!!  David has been following the path of least resistence.  Easy for him but not the best idea.  Now he has a couple people showing him the error of his ways, he needs to be a father!  I remeber Leda as a no nonscense person.  She has a fresh unbiased viewpoint and see areas for improvement in Mel & JR's life,  Nina is used to being the princess in her household.  Friends are nice but perhaps not on a 24/4 basis.  Brian has always wanted to take care fo the people he cares about so he really dosn't understand Mikey's approach to parenthood.  Hard for sons to see their mother as a sexual being.  Tucker is a constant reminder of that fact for Justin.  With the support of her family I don't see Molly buckling under to any bullshit from Mark's family.  Glad you found so much to like in the chapter!!!  Thanks for your support!!!!   Bill

I can say Mel and Andrea got kicked in the ass, hope it helps them with their kids. Michael is a monster of selfishness but who doubted it! Everything is going well in the whole Taylor and Taylor-Kinney family and it's restful. Thanks for the update and all the best wishes for 2022!

I am rereading various older parts of this story and decided to check most recent and there this was. Yeah!!!

Leda and Mel um sure why not JR’s life is so unstable let’s make it worse...

This almost makes me think at some point soon Lindsay will succeed where she most recently failed...

Poor Jay needs completely different parents unless Kate and Justin turn David into a man.

Mikey he can’t seem to buy a clue on how to be a responsible parent it’s just not in him. 

I got a kick out of the little aside of Nina being tired of JR’s bossiness 

Molly and Mark maybe that happens I think it depends on his parents as of now I am betting against it

JR and Jay should form a support group over who has the worst parents.  At least Leda is spending time with JR and making sure Mel does as well.  Jay has one parent too involved in his life and one parent too not involved at all.  Nine is a sweet little girl but JR is tough to deal with.  I think the wedding will depend on how important Mark's parent are to him.  They are NOT going to be happy about this engagement.
