Good story!!!   Ethan definitely got what he deserved in the end, and good for Brian for making Justin see that; that Ethan was the one responsible for his own outcome, not him.

Author's Response:

Thanks ;-) This was one of my very early stories, and I'm really glad that you enjoyed it. I have always been a sucker for a protective Brian, and can't seem to stay away from the angst :-) Glad you enjoyed it!

This story was so heartbreaking and truly amazing.  Now they can heal together.  Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed your story so much.  I cheered when Justin dug deep and found the courage to open up that can of whup all over the Fiddler we love to hate.

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it :-) Yeah, I guess none of us like Ethan much. I didn't like that Justin left Brian for him, but I could see how it made their relationship stronger in the long run. I thought I'd try adding a twist to this by making Ethan abusive. Again, I'm happy that you enjoyed it. Thanks again for reading and for the comment!

I loved this story -emotional, heart wrenching and disturbing. A tension filled read with the perfect ending, Brian and Justin together and safe.

Author's Response:

Thank you, I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed this story. At the time I wrote this, I was a huge fan of a protective Brian - but I like how Justin's stregth came through as well once the story started developing. Thanks again for reading and for your review!

Loved this story!! It was great! I really hated Ethan in the series and I'm glad that he got what he deserved for doing that to Justin! :D Anyway, great work! I enjoyed it immensely! :D Hope to read you in another fic! Kisses!

Author's Response:

Thanks :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed this story. I never like Ethan in the show either. I mean, I have a feeling we weren't really meant to, but what really bugged me about him was that he was so smarmy and flippant. In this story, I gave him more of a cruel and manipulative edge than he had show, but he did get what was coming to him in the end... And of course, Justin and Brian got what they deserved in the end as well :-) I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review!

Amazing rollercoaster ride of emotions! Thank You. I loved this so much!

(although I'd have LOVED to see one or both of our boys kill the sick little fiddle-fuck) Man, I hated that sniveling, pretentious prick! *giggles* He's gonna be REAL popular in prison... HAHAHA!!

Author's Response:

Thanks :-) I'm so thrilled that you enjoyed it! I'm obviously not a fan of Ethan, either - though he was never as bad in canon as he was in this story. He was just kind of annoying in canon - I couldn't really see what Justin saw in him. I just didn't want Justin to become a murder in this story. That would have ended very badly for him. Better that Ethan got what was coming to him from the law... Thanks again for reading, and for your wonderful review. It means a lot!

I loved your story alot!!!

“It’s like a dandelion growing through the concrete,” Justin reflected softly, his fingertips absently tracing a complicated pattern across my sturnum. “Love grew where no one thought it could, where it wasn’t supposed to…but now nothing else can touch it.”

This line will forever be in my head, its perfect!!!

Author's Response:

LOL ;-) Thanks Yvonne. That's my ridiculously romantic side showing through ;-) I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! Thanks so much for reading and for your wonderful review! It means a lot.

Alas, the last chapter. i wish it would never end, but it has. awesome job, Sapphire, once again you have written a poetic piece of beauty for the world to enjoy. i hope you never stop writing, because you are truely gifted. it was a joy to read this story and i intend to read and review more!

Love ya

Maddie

Author's Response:

Thanks again, Maddie :-) I'm so thrilled that you've enjoyed this story! I really, really appreciate your feedback - it really does go a long way, and it lets me know that people are still reading :-) I am still writing, but alas not as often as I used to. But hearing from readers like you is great encouragement, so thank you again. *hugs*

so beautiful! you captured the pain that he has gone through so perfectly! i absolutely adore it!

Maddie

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you thought so :-) As an artist, Justin is learning to use his inner turmoil and put it into his work. This is his way of excising the past and moving forward.

WHOOP! GO JUSTIN! *TAKES OUT POM-POMS AND BEGINS CHEERING* stand up to that little chin rat! i love how you made him get the courage to fight back, it was so poetic!

Maddie

Author's Response:

I'm really glad you enjoyed this chapter! Now that Justin has something to fight for, he won't go back to Ethan. Even though Brian wasn't there in person, it was his love for Justin that saved him.

EEK! go away Ian, do you have a death wish? ok, so maybe he does if he SHOWS UP at the actual loft!

First part of the chapter was super HAWT!!! great job!

Maddie

Author's Response:

LOL! I'm glad it kept you on edge ;-) It does seem that Ethan has a death wish - he's also just totally possessive and controlling. He wants Justin back badly, but he's underestimated what Justin is capable of...

AWWWWWWWWWW! the scene with Brian and Justin in front of the mirror was so sweet. Brian is an asshole, but when it comes to Justin, he is a prince! love it!

Maddie

Author's Response:

I've always been a fan of the 'softer' side of Brian that we unfortunately didn't get to see much of. It's one of the reasons the beginning of season 2 is one of my favorite part in the whole series.

Ethan raped Justin?! thats it, hold me back Sapphire, I'm gonna kill him! awesome chapter, i'm off to the next one

Maddie

Author's Response:

Yes, Ethan is not a very nice character in this story. Good thing Brian knows how to deal with the scars - both mental and physical - that he's left on Justin...

Maddie

Author's Response:

i just reread this story for like the fourth time, and it keeps getting more and more beautiful.  the interplay between brian and justin is phenomenal, and the story is very original.  i absolutely adore it, beautiful job!

Author's Response: Thanks ;) I'm very pleased that you've enjoyed it! As you've probably guessed, I'm a big fan of 'protective Brian', and this story seemed like an excellent way of exploring that. I'm glad you wanted to read it more than once ;) Thank you gaain for reading and for your wonderful, much-adored review!

OK that was almost poetry not a story. I started thinking I would quote you the beautiful lines, but there are too many. So I ill give you may fav;I gave him a big smile to make up for my lack of vocal appreciation.  Brian’s entire face lit up with a glow that seemed to reach every dark corner and crevasse in the room. Shining into every dark place in my world.I could have wept with the sheer, staggering relief. Justin was smiling; he was actually giving me a big fat Sunshine smile. Glory fucking be.

You are an artist that paints with words.

Author's Response: What a wonderful way of putting it- I'm so glad you see it like that. I guess we writers could say the world is our canvas... My favorate line from this story is the dandelion quote at the end of the story because it seems to work so well for Brian and Justin. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story (well, epic poem, if you'd like...) Thanks again for reading and for your wonderful review!

i really cried when reading your story. missed brian and justin. thanks and write more, if your have time!!!

Author's Response: I hope you were crying in a good way ;) I miss Brian and Justin, too, but it helps to keep the 'going' in stories :) As for writing more, I'm sadly hopelessly obsessed with writing B/J fic (I've written 18 stories in ten months- they're all posted here), so rest assured, there will be more :) Thanks so much for reading and for your comment!

I know you posted the first three chapters of this over at the Community ... but I couldn't wait to find out what happened! These last chapters were a wild ride! I was so scared for everyone (except Ethan). This story had it all ... Brian, Justin, angst, and sex ... everything a good story needs :)

Author's Response: Thanks :) I would have posted the whole thing at bjfic except it all the chapters were too big to fit in one post. I just thought I'd try posting something, and I kinda like this story. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the review!

this was such an intense story. I remember how I got chills when i first read this.

Author's Response: Thanks :) When I was going through it again, I forgot how mean I'd made Ethan. But it works though :) Thanks for the reveiw!

Reviewer: sjmpets3 (Signed) · Date: March 19, 2008 05:17 AM · On: Flight of the Fiddler

i remember this. even with everything justin went through, all the pain, all the hurt, it was very good and i'll be reading it again.

Author's Response: Thanks again :) I'll have the other half of the story posted ASAP. Thanks for the reveiw, as ever :)
