I really enjoyed it! Molly could have been an interesting character, but was rarely present in the show, if not almost non existent. I always find it kind of weird that Justin was so close to his mother but not at all with his sister. Well, this is a great way to write about her. and I love Brian here. Thank you for writing :)

Author's Response:

Thanks for taking the time to read and review this story! It means a lot. You are so right- Molly could've been such an amazing character but they let her fade away in the background. But then again- it's a blessing for us because there's so much potential with a character like Molly, who's pretty much no one. Thanks again, :).

this was fantastic... I think this should be the start to a new story/series...  why did Brian refer to being "taylor free".  that sounded ominous... please have him just be traveling but coming back lol (yes I'm selfish lol)

also I would love to see the family dynamic here of Brian friends with Molly and how everyone else deals with her prescence... how does Jennifer feel about it?  the gang?

please continue this!!!!

So good :)

Thank you for so much for your enthusiatic review! This is actually a scene from the middle of a story that I was supposed to be done with by now but the chances of me finishing it are very very slim. There is always a possibility that I may develop a story from the end of this one- I can see how it could work and everything-lol- buttttttt it'll take some time. I have 3 other fics I'm working on with Molly- two of which are Brian/Molly centered. So for the time being they have priority until I get tired of them.

But you've given me a lot to consider- I also hope to continue this. Thanks so much for reading this fic.

Very beautiful and sensitive work. Well done.

Author's Response:

Thank you so so so much for reading this fic. I really enjoyed writing Molly and Brian. It's a pairing that isn't written together all that much but one that fanfic writers should consider- they have many unique possibilities. But once again, thanks.

Really interesting look at Molly.  Our early life experiences can really screw us up.  Seems like there must be more to Molly's unhappiness.

Author's Response:

I love writing Molly and I loved writing this story as well!  So true, our early experiences have a wicked way of screwing us up and Molly's unhappiness is very much real and valid. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this fic and review. I appreciate it!

I remember at 16/17 feeling so lost and alone and watching all the school buses drive past as I walked home - the same thought crossed my mind many times - the only reason I didn't walk out in front of them was a small glimmer of hope that tomorrow would be better - it did take a lot of tomorrows before it was. I'm 53 now and I still remember the hopelessness I felt then. We lose so many young people due to adults lack of acceptance and love. Too many Craig's and Jack's out there. (mine was a Craig) I wish that for every person struggling with these feelings of being made to feel not good enough has a Brian in their life. Very well written and thought provoking.

Author's Response:

Yeah, I can definitely identify with Molly and Brian in this fic which is probably why this story was so easy for me to write. Being a teenager can be ridiculously difficult when you lack a nurturing and healthy environment due to poor excuse parents as you mentioned. Although Molly and Brian are both victims to shitty father's, I definitely didn't want it to seem as though hope was lost for them at all. Even though this story didn't end on a very happy note. But, thanks so much for taking the time out to read this and to review. It means so much to me!

I loved this. I have always wanted to read a Brian and Molly fic like this, so thank you. Would you ever consider continuing this?? I'd love to see more of the two of them - and what Jennifer and Justin think of their new friendship.

Author's Response:

Hi Sally,

Would you believe me if I told you I had been working on this fic (not this scene- but a full story) since December? The crazy thing about it is that I have an outline and a plan and everything. I just literally can't write anymore to this story. I have two other Brian and Molly fics that I'm working on, sigh, that I hope to one day post. But about this story- I'll never say never, but I will say unlikely. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read this. It was interesting to write. I loved writing Brian and Molly in this fic- mostly because I loved the honesty and heartbreaking vulnerability that both characters showed.
