Fantastic update!  Hope all goes as Brian and Justin think and wish, Gus needs to be with his Dads, who give and will always give him unconditional love and be treated with respect and know they will always have time for him.

Fabulous fic, thanks for sharing!

JoAnn

Author's Response:

Thanks for writing and I'm so glad you are enjoying the fic.  Gus should be with parents who want and love him.

Gus is lucky he has two dads who want him to feel safe and loved. Justin is so in tune with both Gus and Brian

Author's Response:

Justin is a natural parent and to think he questioned his readiness to be a father.

So sad to see that Gus is so insecure about his place in Brian and Justin's lives. Lindsay and Mel ought to be ashamed of themselves for doing that. I'm glad that Justin called Brian to discuss the situation without Gus listening in. All the talk of legal action would have probably scared him. It will definitely be interesting to see how Mel is going to react even knowing that she has no legal rights.

Congrats on keeping this wonderful story going!

HUGS!

Author's Response:

Thank you for letting me know that you are still enjoying the story way past its initial offering.  So sad when parents tend to forget that babies aren't babies and cute and cuddly forever.

Your readers are very happy this story has been going on so long.  This is one of my favorites.  Poor Justin worrying so much.  I hope the girls don't give them too much trouble, but I can't believe Mel won't be a problem.

Dee Dee

Author's Response:

Dee Dee:

Thank you for the kind words.  I never imagined this story to still be going on almost 2 years after I started it and to have so many people reading it and commenting.  Justin wants everyone to be happy and that means Brian as well as Gus.  We shall see what happens when the girls figure out Gus is actually living with Brian and Justin.

Hope Mel doesn't become a problem for the little family. Love how Brian talked Lindsey over. Really calm on the outside. Still loving this story.

My dislike for Lindsay is right there with you.  Good job Brian getting Lindsay to let Gus stay all night.  Now we will have to see how this pans out.  Can't believe Mel will agree even though she does want him under foot.

Author's Response:

Brian is slick- and LIndsay is vain.  Interesting combination

I have missed this story. Brian and Justin seem to have taken charge and became great parents and role models.

Author's Response:

so glad that you are enjoying the story.  Brian and Justin understand what it is like to be good parents. Brian knows what bad parenting is and Justin had good role modesl until he was a teen.

Lindsay is clueless.  I wonder if Mel will just be as relieved as Lindsay to not have to take care of Gus.  Great chapter.  All this intrigue will be hard for a 10 year old Gus to cope with.  Hope everything works out for the best.  Was really happy to see an update!!!!  Bill

Author's Response:

Bill:

Lindsay is more concerned about her job than her son.  I always wondered if they would have had children if Brian wasn't in the picture.  if there was no Brian, would LIndsay have insisted on having a child?  I'm not so sure it would have happened.

Another great chapter.  Poor Gus, he needs some security in his life.  Can't wait for Brian's conversation with the munchers.  Somehow I don't think they are going to very reasonable.  Bill

Gus needs security and Brian and Justin can offer this-  We will have to see what Linds and Mel do.

Gus shouldn't have to feel so unwanted by his mothers. If the ladies are smart, they won't fight Brian on what he wants. I mean face it, if the girls want to take this to court, their only witness against Brian would have to be Michael. Where would that get them.
Bring on the talk.

Author's Response:

Poor Gus-  he is in a bad situation and Brian wants it to get better. Who better to fight for a great childhood than someone who didn't have one

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: February 28, 2017 02:16 PM · On: Chapter 29- The Talk

I'm so enjoying your story, but boy what a cliff hanger! I can't believe that the girls are so unfeeling to talk about what to do with Gus, like he was a pet. I never heard of anything so mean and cruel.

Author's Response:

My dislike of Mel and Linds really comes out in this fic.  So glad you are enjoying it and I so appreciate your comments.

Hi, Sandy!  This is not a review per se, but I just wanted to say thanks for posting your very enjoyable stories on here.  My life for some time now has been so ungodly hectic that as much as I would love to go back and start at the beginning of your story, it will be some time before I can do that. But I DID want you to know how much your support of MW is appreciated.  And some day I WILL get to read this!  Thank you. :)  ~Kim

MIchael will never understand that life changes as you mature and develop new relationships, and that your priorities and commitments change accordingly -I mean he hasn't  changed his life for Ben, Hunter or JR.  He is so immature and honestly a bit of a moron, I could just imagine him acting just like you have written.  Loved this chapter but damn I'm now totally grossed out by the final image of Ben and Michael having a quickie -I don't he know how Ben can bring himself to do it with someone who craves attention from another man. Thinking of "Michael" sex it just plain yucky lol. Looking forward to next chapter, couldn't be happier that you keep finding ways to continue this storya86;

Author's Response:

Sex with Michael is just plain squicky.  I appreciate your long and thoughtful comment.  It means a lot to a writer when readers take the time to comment and I appreciate that you feel that I am keeping the characters in canon character.

Thank you for writing.

so Happy ro see a new chapter.  Mikey really doesn't have a clue.  Glad that Brian has his priorities in order.  Hope Mikey doesn't cause an issue with Mel & Linds.  Looking forward to more.  Bill

Author's Response:

Bill:

Thank you, as always for reading and commenting.  Brian and Justin both have their priorities in order and I agree where they are.  Brian never expected to love Gus or be in his life, but Lindsay kept thrusting him in to Brian's sphere.  Now he doesn't want to leave and Lindsay is in for a shock.

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: February 14, 2017 07:55 AM · On: Chapter 28- Mikey's Lament

mikey has to be the dumbest person I've ever heard off! He is as vapid as Linz and it makes them truly unattractive. Why Ben would want to be with him and Mel would want his sperm to have JR is lost on me. Just because he doesn't want to be a loving father doesn't mean that Brian feels the same way! Brian got a second chance at life-he beat his cancer -he found love for the first time in his life-and his a father to tiny loving boys. If mikey was truly his best friend he would be happy for him, he knows how bad a child hood he had, but like Linz he has other plans for himand Brian. I so love your story, each chapter is a gift. Thank you for sharing

Author's Response:

bktush:

Thank you for your comments.  I appreciate your passion and your willingness to comment on the content of the story.  I don't know how Ben puts up with Mikey-  maybe he just likes non conflicted relationships-  Mikey can be such a petulant child "Brian is my best friend-  ie I know what is best"  He lives his life around Brian rather than his own family.  Very sad indeed.

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: February 14, 2017 07:24 AM · On: Chapter 27- When Worlds Collide

Colin and Gus are very lucky to have each other and two very loving daddies. The daddies are just as busy as Gus's moms. One is a ceo of his own company and the other is a talented artist, as for the mom's one is a very smart lawyer who is as much as a workcoholic as she is, so is Brian, the other mom other than thinking she's important and worrying about her wardrobe and getting her roots touched up actually spends more time on her self than her children or her marriage. Don't think Gus cares about her hair he would just wish she would spend time with him. One day when it is probably to late she will realize the whole world and all the inhabits do not revolved around her.

Author's Response:

Lindsay and Melanie obviously have different priorities than Brian and Gus.  I think they liked the idea of children-  ie the cute little baby but then didn't know what to do when the baby grows up.

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: February 14, 2017 06:29 AM · On: Chapter 26- A Family of Four

I never understood how the girls could never work together to the benefit of both of their children, it was so evident that Gus was always coming in last. Thank goodness his dadies knew just because he wasn't a baby anymore he still needed the love and attention. The girls used him , not to benefit JR, but so they could have their private time--they should have thought of that before having the second child--plus we all know how Linz always puts herself first. nice story

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like the story.  I always found the girls very contradictory.  On the one hand they say they want to raise Gus and then the other they wanted Brian to take out a life insurance policy if something were to happen to him-  why would his life be important if he were not a part of raising Gus.  I really believe that Lindsay always thought Gus was a way to get the WASP family she always dreamed of with Brian/ Linday and baby but she forgot that Brian is gay and she wanted to raise ( well maybe) the child.

Michael is such a shit. I'm surprised that Ben puts up with him, I mean, he is in his 30's and supposed to be an adult.... Like how things are working out so well for Brian, Justin and the boys. I really wish I had more free time - I have a hankering to re-read this from the very beginning.

Author's Response:

Tiger:

I admire your desire to reread from the beginning-  I haven't even done that, but there are other stories that I have written that I have posted to other sites and reread each chapter before reposting.  I still find that I like most of them.  I don't know how Ben puts up with Mikey- unless he just likes always feeling superior in teh relationship.

Mickey is a twerp.I'm glad Brian blew him off. I hope he won't be starting trouble by instigating himself with the girls. Love this story.

Author's Response:

Mikey has not won me over-  never will-  I don't think the girls would listen to him-  I think they chose him for JR's father as they didn't think he would ruffle any feathers

Delighted to see an update! Poor Gus. At least his dads have stepped up to the plate and are just biding their time before they make the move for something of permanence. And then there's Michael. I just want to strangle him. He doesn't deserve Ben, but he's too selfish to see just how good he has it.

Looking forward to the next chapter :)

Michael grates on my nerves.
Who is left to tell him Justin and the kids come first before it finally sinks in?
The way he was talking about spending time with Jenny, it sounds more like he's becoming a part time dad.
Happy that Brian didn't even think to divulge his plans for Gus. It's nobody's business but his and Justin's.
Great update. Also glad Gus is so happy with Colin.

Author's Response:

I have no love for Mikey.  Soon, I feel that Brian and Justin will leave him behind.  He has the same attitude toward JR that the munchers seem to have about Gus.

Brian played it just right, the moms problemly not even miss Gus unless they need a baby sitter. Gus seems so happy I hope it works out

Gus is so lucky his dads love him and listen to his thoughts, I think his moms just go thru the motions sometime.I think they love Gus but are just not cut out for two kids with both of them working crazy hours, and they don't have the give and take in their marriage as his dads do. I hope for once they put well being of Gus before strikeing out at Brian and Justin

Author's Response:

I think you are right.  I think the idea of a child was more the push rather than the reality. Children take time, effort and planning. Without these, there is utter chaos. True there can be chaos if there is planning but without it, there is always chaos.

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: November 23, 2016 02:31 AM · On: Chapter 23- A Talk With Gus

Gus is being treated as a second class child I think the only reason Linz wanted Brian to be Gus's dad was for fanasty of being Mrs Brian Kinney and the money that went with it knowing he is married to Justin means her little dream is delayed maybe she can cause a rift between the lovers or pit the children against their dads. Linz is a bitch and both dads know it.

Author's Response:

Yep  I alluded to the same idea a few comments back.  Lindsay always wanted to be Mrs. Brian Kinney and Gus is the closest she will get to having Brian as her mate.

After a bumpy start at their beginning Brain has found talking, asking questions mattered. Now he and Justin know each other thoughts and the love they have for both sons is unconditional

Brian and Justin truly have an adult relationship- probably the only one of the gang that does.

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: November 23, 2016 01:49 AM · On: Chapter 21- Gus' Visit

I don't understand Linz, she seems to keep Gus close as a barganing chip to get the money she wants from Brian. Yet she really doesn't use Gus for much except as a baby sitter for JR who is trial for anyone. Gus needs someone to let him be a child and that's exactly what his dads do. great update and a wonderful story.

Author's Response:

I think Gus is a tool to Lindsay-  a way to keep her fantasy of hetero life with Brian - the Dad, Lindsay the mom and Gus the baby.  He is a bargaining chip to keep her fantasies alive.

I knew for a wedding shower you could register, I didn't realize you could register for a baby shower,it won't take  long for Brian to order on line cause the family really have bad taste

Author's Response:

Gus is trying so hard to please his dads, poor little guy just doesn't understand, his mother doesn't have time for him and now he wants to be sure that his dads do, thats some parenting by Lindsey she has done a bang up job of making him feel he has to try to earn his love.

Author's Response:

Gus adores his father and I think the more Lindsay and Mel downplay and deminish Brian, the more he wants to be like his dad- a much better role model

Reviewer: bktush (Anonymous) · Date: November 21, 2016 11:28 AM · On: Chapter 9--Dolls and Zombies, and Baby Monitors

The fact that Lindsey thinks she can give Brian and Justin advice on child rearing is so far fetched I don't think she's much of a mother she puts herself and her wants and needs ahead of Mel Gus, and JR. She's the perfect example of a self centered person.  If they want advice the only one capable is Jennifer not only does she know how to love but she knows how to show it. She would know better to butt in telling them how to raise a child she would only help if ask.She could certainly teach Lindsey and Debbie how to raise a loving and respectful child.

Author's Response:

I totally agree.  Lindsay and Mel are filled with the idea of children not necessarily the reality of raising responsible children who will one day take over the world

How does Ben still live with that ass! He and Debbie mettle in everyones business and none of it concerns them.If they had all the wisdom and all the answer their lives would be far greater than they are.

Author's Response:

I never understood the Ben/ Mikey show.  Ben is highly educated professor who is strong, independent and self assured and Mikey is a child in a man's body; complete with jealousy, bad manners and no filter on his mouth.

What a terrible thing to say to Gus, that Brian and Justin won't want him around after the baby comes, that won't have time for him--it is bad enough his own two mothers would say that to his face, but Debbie repeats the same thing don't they know how that hurts Gus. Debbie is just repeating something mikey has said and he hasn't told the truth since learned to talk.

Author's Response:

I really think that the girls and Mikey know in their hearts that Brian will be a great dad and they want to try and talk themselves into belieiving he's otherwise.   they, as usual are only thinking of themselves.

A smile on Brians face as Justin has one hell of a queen out! It's real for him and as he rants he also bounces off the wall, Brian better tie his lover down, it's a long time until the baby is born, he's about ten seconds from a major melt down and then Brian has a answer for him sex!

I feel kind of bad for Brian, Mel and Lindsey didn't include him Gus and he's made the decision not to go to Cynthias appointments. At least Justin tells him everything to keep in touch with what's going on

Author's Response:

In the days before video cameras, parents just had to wait to see it themselves, but I'm sure that Justin and Brian have many milestones on camera.  Of course, they could just want to experience parenthood and not always be on the ready.  I hoep the solution works too.

It won't make any difference if they have the girls for dinner or not. First they'll think that Brian is putting on a show just for them. Then they'll spew their usial bullshit that they're Gus' parents and Brian has no say. Then they'll bring up Colin and how with the baby around there will be no time for them to pay attention to Gus. Really REALLY am enjoying this! I loved the way Justin put Lindsey in her place! Witch! Gus' side of things really broke my heart. Mel and Lindz are basically treating him like a built-in babysitter. How about giving her 'father' some ACTUAL responsibility?! But NOOOoooooo that's too much like doing the RIGHT thing! I find it absolutely appalling that with all of Lindsay's judgmental bullcrap and sanctimonious pronouncements that SHE and her partner the ones actually being neglectful of their child's needs, not Brian and Justin. This is a really good idea; it's great that Cynthia proposed that solution.

I love having Cynthia as the surrogate

Let's feed the muse: I like how you manage the reactions of Michael and Lindsay; if it's coming from Justin, it's obviously a wrong idea; if it impacts Brian's life, it's even worse.

I guess we will have some fun chapters coming up.

Author's Response:

This is an existing start; It's really nice that Justin had this talk with his mom. She respects Brian and of course her son.

Author's Response:

I think as the series moved forward we saw Jennifer's support for Brian and Justin
