Midnight Whispers
QAF Brian and Justin Fanfiction

Wow!  This was depressing.  Brian needs to stop being a martyr and express his feelings.  He only hurts himself and Justin with his self- deprecating thoughts and actions.

Author's Response:

It's almost arrogant, how Brian fixates on his selflessness. Introverts can be narcissists too and I believe that Brian is mentally introverted. He's so caught up in "saving Justin" that he doesn't stop to think that Justin might not want to be shoved out like Tuesday's trash. I can't remember how my other drafts looked like, but I do remember changing the dialogue scenes dramatically to show how, even after five years, communicating with Brian is still a struggle. I can imagine that it would be a struggle for a long time, because they simply cannot get on the same page. You may have been depressed, but a lot of the stuff I write is usually very angsty and I feel this is what I do best. *shrugs* XD I lvoe Brian so much, when I am writing him, I go into this whole other zone. I am so connected with him, because he is like me in a lot of ways- especially where having a very active internal thought process is concerned. Although that being said, I would never make some of the choices or have some of the opinions he does about himself. And I feel Justin is this great polar opposite to him, always trying to reach out and bring sunlight to Brian's darkness. I copied that "stranded in the dark" part from my other story, "The Night Before The Last". You might like to try it, as it runs along the same themes. Thanks for the review.

What!!!!  Noooooo ....

Author's Response:

What can I say? Brian and Justin are polar opposites. It's the source of attraction, but it is also a source of pain.

oh dear... you've made me shed tears twice today.

1st, when I read the 'Unpredictable Together' this afternoon.

and 2nd, tonight, when I reead this.

it's so sad....

Author's Response:

I actually think "Unpredictable Together" is pretty optmistic, if rather cautiously so. This is sad, yes- but I can't see their parting as being any less gut-wrenching for Brian. He's come to love Justin so deeply that having him leave is like being torn apart. Brian is very set in his habits, and relies on continuity, even if he pretends not to. It's sad, but... what can I do? Blame CowLip! XD

Cockeyed optomist I kept waiting for it to turn happy.  Great story but sad.

Author's Response:

Sorry, but partings are painful. They've been under each other's feet for five years, after all!
