I never followed Capt. America at all in the comics. Had only seen the character a few times and thought it a bit kitchy but I had no idea of any backstory details. I loved the Avengers idea and the stalwart simplicity of Steve Rodgers patriotism. It was his country. He was going to defend it. Period. Thank you for giving me a real being behind the stars and stripes.

Now, since I don't know the story and I'm hanging with my heart on my sleeve here, I'm going to assume that the Captain saved Bucky. And damn it... now I HAVE to go find out just what happened at this point.

Thanks for this. It's a great look into someone I know little about, but fleshed the friendship is fleshed out so well, the bromance is so alive...

Thanks.  For a long time all I wrote was B/J fics, (really need to re-upload them here again. but do have them on http://archiveofourown.org/ for now)  This was my first real stab at the Marvel cinematic universe.  I just LOVE bucky and steve.

Just uploaded the next part.  so far if I remember have 5 parts to this story line so far, still have to finish the 5th part really but....
