Love this. Even though I cried through most of it. Beautifully written. I cried when Randy said that, it's very hard to think that they didn't end up together.

Author's Response:

hey Lorie - you and I have always had that in common - crying through the best of time with the boys - and sometimes crying through the worst of times as well

so glad you found this - and even more that you like it - it is one of my favorites ... (is it okay to have a favorite among your own works - lol)?

thank you so much for the kind words - and your constant support - you are awesomeness!

Oh, I read the blasted interview in French, in English...thank the gods, I don't understand German so I am still getting over it. Huge Sigh.

Great story!!! Thank you so much!

I loved this. And here is my opinion.

I wasn't at the con, but when I heard from a friend who went that Randy said that..I scoffed.

Only because when I got my season five dvds, soon after I found two interviews. One was with Cowen and Lipman who said Brian/Justin never broke up. And that people need to remember Brian has the money to visit Justin and Gus in NY and Toronto. Along with the fact to and from the Pitts to NY on a commuter flight is less than 90 minutes.

The second interview I read was with the writer of the show who said that they wrote the ending of 5:13 with the idea that Justin returned to Brian four months later. That Brian was Justin's muse and of course that they missed each other.

So, I go with that than Randy's opinion, though I do respect, but Randy didn't like the way Justin was heading in the fourth and fifth season from what I heard. He thought Justin needed to become independant from Brian. Gale thought that for Brian/Justin to move forward, Brian needed to get help to overcome his demons from Jack and Joan. And I do agree, if anything Brian's constant pushing Justin off Mount Kinney and Justin giving in to the push instead of staying was the problem.

Author's Response:

hey Nim, so glad you liked the story. It's so very difficult for me to imagine the boys not together, although I can understand why Randy would have a totally different point of view. I think he simply would want Justin to be strong and whole on his own.

I do love confidant - sure of himself Justin, and I would have loved to see him refuse to jump the cliff - stand firm and refuse to run.

Anyway - thanks so much for the review - I so appreciate it.

GOD, I love you! LOL.  I, too, saw that clip on You-Tube and had my own mini meltdown. Even though I'm pretty much a realist, pragmatist, whatthehellever... and don't always believe in the HEA version of life, I do like it in my fiction (well coated in that angsty lube stuff :)

Even though I'm one of the apparently very very small minority that would have been disappointed in a too saccharine sweet ending to the whole QAF experience, (and that particular ending gave me yet another reason to really really REALLY dislike widdle Mikey!!!) I actually felt sorry for Randy when he gave that (unfortunate?) answer in that particular crowd.

But I think of the ending of the show this way -- if they had solved all the problems for our angst driven boys, what the h*** would we write and read about? Hmmm?  ;)

Love the story and glad you are sticking with it.

NC

Author's Response:

Thanks Roni - I'm glad you loved it. I agree that if the end of the show had been too clean and pretty it would have been a let down, and it has given us plenty to stir us on through the years. Still, I have a hard time imagining either man in a relationship with anyone else. It just doesn't feel right...and this just plain makes me feel good to think about.

thanks for taking the time to review - I really ppreciate it

I definitely approve also. I don't know why Randy said that (and I definitely don't agree on that), I mean after what Justin been waiting for, (for Brian to love him) that just being in New York would change the love between Brian and Justin.

So yes, I believe that they will still love each other, because indeed, as Brian said to Justin "it's only time".

So I approve because I believe also that whether Justin is in New York, he will still love Brian, after Brian went through admitting the he loves him.

Great story :))

Author's Response:

thank you - I am so glad you enjoyed the story - and that I am not alone in believing that these two will always love each other - no matter what! I love this version of

I can certainly understand that Randy is speaking from the perspective of an artist - and that he would hope that Justin would find his way to fulfill his dream, and not let anything stand in the way of using his talent to be the best he can be. I totally get it...in my head.

I can even get Randy, having been in short lived relationships in the real world, wanting to think of Justin as moving into an 'adult' relationship where both sides give and support each other. Of course he would want to think of this character he created out of what the writers gave him, growing up and maturing past the 'desperate for your first love' kind of angst and drama and no longer content with being taken for granted and treated to Brian's moods and tantrums.

But this is Brian and Justin...and no one else will ever fuel the passion or love them the same way.

Sorry Randy, I try to picture Justin happy with someone else...I really do...for you... but I just am not there! lol

thanks for your response - and for reading - it makes my day!

I really do approve.  This is how it should have happened: Brian dropping everything for his Sunshine.  Great fic.

Author's Response:

Thanks for your response, Jane. I too think that this version of what happened is so much more satisfying...at least for those of us who live vicariously through the love these two have for each other! lol

So glad you liked it!

I definitely approve, Charle!  I like your version much better.:)  Thanks for the wonderful scenario.:)  *Hugs*  ~Kim

Author's Response:

hey Kim - welcome home! Looks like the convention was amazing - even with Gale having to pull out. I can't wait to hear all about it! With what I have watched on youtube, it really seems like a trip of a lifetime! How fun to catch up with all the cast!

I am so thrilled that you like my little glimpse of life with the boys - I'm not sure Randy would share my vision - but I can't stand to think of it any other way.

thanks as always for taking the time to keep me encouraged

Author's Response:
