I think everyone in the extended family should come to know very soon. Maybe have a gathering where on accident like maybe they overhear Brian and Justin talking about the cancer. Or Justin wants the whole family to come over for dinner at the loft and when they all arrive, Bri and Jus aren't there, but like a bit in canon, Bri's doctor leaves a voicemail for Brian/Justin.
Brian shouldn't have stopped Kinnetik, besides Gus, Kinnetik was his baby. Though Gus matters more to him.
And he should try to see Gus more.
It would be interesting if Brian also confesses how he was actually there at the hospital when Jus was in a coma. Always at night,
Update soon

Just read your whole story so far and I'm not really sure how to comment. It's just so sad. I really hated the whole cancer arc of the show - not that I dislike your story, it's just that a fearful weak Brian is so hard to see. Your story is incredibly well written. You're definitely tugging at those heartstrings. I guess that it's just too sad for me to say I like it. I will keep reading it though. You are doing a great job writing about a very tough topic. TAG

Well, one thing that always bothered the hell out of me when Justin apologized to Brian for cheating on him with Ethan in Season 3 Episode 8, is that, too me, at least it seemed like he didn't mean his apology...Brian said,"What? Now that your romance with Paginini Jr. is over, you thought you could come crawling back to me?!" Justin replied,"Yeah, something like that." and that is what bothered the hell out of me it wasn't that he realized Brian may have not said any kind of affection verbally, but Brian always showed Justin he cared. Justin seems to never realize that Brian showed he cared by:
Paying for his tuiton
Going to Prom
Letting Justin stay at the loft
Massaged his gimp hand whenever it cramped
Helped him get over his anxiety of crowds
Pride day with the dance to Abba
Going to the hospital every night and stayed to see Justin(though Justin doesn't know it)
I say you have Justin go through shit for cheating on Brian with Ethan now. Maybe have Brian talk in his sleep again and he ends up talking about everything he did for BOTH Justin AND Gus. Then comes the truth like outing Michael to Tracy, nightly hospital visits and etc. Update soon.

I was so touched by this chapter. However, it is funny that a combo of pills and sleep got Brian to be emotionally honest, LOL.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. In Queer as Folk Brian always seemed to open up when he was high or tired, so I thought I'd mix the two x

This was very sweet as well as poignant; loved the idea of Brian pouring out his heart about Justin, not realizing he was hearing every word. And I always did love that scene in the show where Justin first discovered Brian had cancer and was crying softly on his chest as he embraced him in his bed. This reminds me of that moment.. Beautiful chapter.:)
Author's Response: Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Also, I'm glad you picked up on the fact that I was trying to base that last moment between them on that scene in the show. Seeing as I din't get to include it in the story as canon I wanted to sneak it in somewhere x

You gotta love that girl! And Brian feeling secure enough and actually admitting Justin is more important than pride to confess his condition to Daphne, I loved it!
However, I am waiting for Vic to come through for Brian as well, I mean if there is one person other than Justin that actually understands Brian Kinney, Vic is the one.
Great work sweetie, even though the process you are describing is grueling and the next updates will hurt like a SOB. Until next time then... Marla
Author's Response: Thank you so much, this review made my day! Hope you enjoy to know...there will be a few life-changing Brian/Vic moments coming up, that's one of the main reasons I kept him alive, hope you enjoy the rest x

ARGHHH! I wanna state for the record that I do not like the fact that the cancer is back [unfortunately once you have such experience, it is not easy reading about this shit] BUT I am willing to see where you are going with this.
From this update I can see you are planning to drag this stage quiet a bit so you can work your story, but I would like to see reprieve in the end, where the cancer will finally be in remision and the boys can have a quasi normal life.
I like the story and I will follow up to see where you are going with this plot bunny.
Marla
Author's Response: Thank you for the review, I didn't want to bring the cancer back but it is pretty much the centre of the story. I suppose I will drag out the cancer bit to make the story more real, I hope you enjoy it x

Poor Brian and Justin. I am glad that Brian told Justin instead of pushing him away...

I just read this today and it is a very different take on the Brian and cancer arc. I like it a lot. I particularly like hearing what Brian is thinking :-)
