OH no.    I can't wait to read this.  I applaud you on returning to this.  I too was writing a story about cancer and then it home.   I see that you have picked back up the pin today so i have done the same.  Can't wait for the next chapter.

Reviewer: JerseyGirl (Signed) · Date: May 12, 2022 07:28 PM · On: Part 5

Raw, Powerful, emotional, beautifully written. This story touched my heart in many ways, I have two adult child who are both battling cancer as I write. I can personally say the emotions Brian & Justin are dealing with and sometimes not handling well are spot on.  For a writer to be able to convey something so powerful they themselves havent dealt with is a true credit and tribute to your skills as a writer.  You make the story and emotions real. Thank you so much for digging deep and coming back to finish this wonderful story.  Looking forward to many more chapters.   Candy

Author's Response:

My gosh, I am so sorry about your sons and I dearly hope they are triumpAhant in their battles over this hateful disease. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts - I appreciate it more than I can say. And thanks, too, for the lovely words about the story. Knowing that my words touch another heart is more reward than I can ask for.

Beautiful chapter. Nice to see this story back.

Brian is going to deal with his cancer and his treatment his way. Go along or be left out. He has every right to tell Gus. Better for Gus to know than to be surprised when he sees Brian again.

Mel, Lindsay, always bitches. No surprise there.

Author's Response:

Thank you! I really went back and forth on whether Brian should tell Gus at the game or not. At first, I was 100% sure he would - and it wasn't Lindsay who changed his mind, it was this idea of giving Gus one (possibly last) untainted memory of a great day with his Dad. I will be touching on that more in the next part. And yeah, I do believe Lindsay loves Brian, but she's incapable of not being selfish and judgmental, and Mel only encourages that when it comes to Brian.

So glad to see this story back....heartbreaking but beautiful.

Author's Response:

Thank you for coming back! Heartbreaking and beautiful describes Brian pretty well :)

I am not sure how i really feel about this story. It is sad and filled with angst but i am hoping the guys will have a HEA despite the horrible situation they will have to deal with. I do  hope you will continue this story one day.

Reviewer: nickknack (Signed) · Date: February 27, 2016 12:27 AM · On: Part 4

Valediction was truly an amazing emotional story and I thought you could never match that but I couldn't have been more mistaken. Stronger is enthralling. Your attention to detail for their lives, Brian's cancer and their relationship is so detailed and compassionate that I quickly became vested in their journey. I very sincerely hope that you will return to finish this story.

Reviewer: Natters from Paris (Anonymous) · Date: September 26, 2015 04:09 PM · On: Part 4

Incredibly dramatic and moving start. It's as well written and as superb as Valediction. I hope you'll be able to keep your promise to finish this story some day.

I don't really know what to say, but i wanted to review anyway ;)

I love this story. It's great and angsty ans sad and powerful and beautiful!!!

And i cried for Brian like a thousand times already :(

Life is just not fu****ng fair!! I totally freak out if i imagine something like this happening for real in the series after Season Five :(

Keep going. And please don't let him die :( :( :(

Diana

Author's Response:

First, thank you so much for taking the time to review - you knew *exactly* what to say! :-)

I know what you mean about imagining this happening for real - I did! And that's where this came from. Cancer is such a hateful disease. It's not an easy choice to use it in fiction, but it is, sadly, a part of life, and with Brian's history it's not so unlikely. He has a rough road ahead :-( Thanks again for reading and even more for letting me know.

Reviewer: Carol (Anonymous) · Date: April 17, 2013 04:06 PM · On: Part 4

Ihave to keep reminding myself this is just a story.... Because it feels real. You really are that good.

Author's Response:

That is all I can hope for! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment and for reading.

This is an amazing story. You're doing a great job. Hope the next update comes soon.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much. It won't be too long!

Reviewer: zsadistwhore (Signed) · Date: April 16, 2013 08:47 PM · On: Part 4

Just what I always need; yet another story I've become addicted to. Surpisingly enough, I haven't actually read that many cancer stories where Brian's cancer comes back (and I've read a lot of B/J stories), so I'm really enjoying reading something different. And I love the flashback style of your writing and both Brian and Justin's viewpoints of some scenes and I really really hope you update this soon. (But I understand where you're coming from. I'm not a slow writer (once I start a story, I'm usually finished within an hour or so, as I don't write particular long ones, but I am slow at getting motivated to write. Which is why I don't write multi-chapter stories.)

Author's Response:

Hi there! I'm glad you're enjoying the flashback and different POV's of the same scenes. It's the first time I've done that. It's definitely a tough subject matter but hopefully the ride will continue to be interesting! I envy anybody who can write quickly, lol. I don't have that gene. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!

Reviewer: TheWickedStepmother (Signed) · Date: April 16, 2013 04:38 PM · On: Part 1

Wow... just ...wow... It's of course sad and all, but so well written. I hope Brian will survive...

Thank you for the fast update ;)

Author's Response:

I hope so, too.

Thanks for reading and for the compliment! I appreciate it very much.

Reviewer: LoveTheCoat (Signed) · Date: April 16, 2013 07:14 AM · On: Part 4

So wonderful. I don't know what else to say but that. So well written, and great characterization. I cannot wait to see what comes next - and I kind of hope you'll pick up where this chapter left off because...hot!

:)

Author's Response:

You don't need to say anything else. I appreciate you taking the time to comment so much! Even at the worst of times, their chemistry together is magic :-)

Reviewer: lin (Anonymous) · Date: April 16, 2013 06:46 AM · On: Part 1

Completely in love with this story. Everything about it.

Author's Response:

Thank you. I can't ask for more than that! :-)

Reviewer: NoChaser (Signed) · Date: April 16, 2013 12:13 AM · On: Part 4

"Timing has never really been on our side, you know?"

I am ready to freaking cry. Seriously. That, in a nutshell, is the crux of the Kinney/Taylor dynamic.

You have pegged these two so completely: Justin's visible and internal desperation; Brian's appearance of nonchalance, his internal visceral fear. The incessant push/pull of the dynamic between these two is so well played out in this chapter.

You have written Justin's halting understanding of the internal workings of Brian Kinney to a 't' - he has to repeatedly process that momentary disconnect between knowing Brian and 'knowing' Brian. You've also given us yet another instance of Brian's penchant for putting what he desperately needs aside to fulfil another promise - this one to his son.

I'm a wreck. This is fucking riveting.

Roni

Author's Response:

Gosh, thanks so much for the thoughtful comment. You have no idea how much it means to me!(Sorry about the tears though ;-)

So many things might have played out differently if not for bad timing with Brian and Justin, wouldn't they? And this will be as much of a test for Justin as for Brian. As much as he 'knows' Brian, sometimes he needs to be hit over the head (so to speak lol) before he really 'sees' things. Once he does though, there's nobody who will fight harder for Brian. And Brian...the oh Brian. He really is a good and honorable man under all the bravado. There's nothing he wouldn't do for his family.

Thank you again for reading and for the amazingly kind words.

Sad. Poignant. I must be crazy cause all I can think is 'More please'. TAG

Author's Response:

If you're crazy, I'm not sure what that makes me, lol. :-) I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know - it means more than I can say.

Reviewer: Bryton4ever71 (Signed) · Date: April 09, 2013 03:12 PM · On: Part 2

Wow, this one s really impressive. It's very meaty and the love scenes were great. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much. I hope you enjoy Part 3 (which is posted now). Part 4 won't be too far behind.

Reviewer: Tagsit (Anonymous) · Date: April 09, 2013 12:51 PM · On: Part 2

Very steamy writing! Could you please direct me to the closest cold shower? He he he. Of course I get the foreboding sense that everything isn't going to be just skittles and orgasms in the boys' future. . . Off to the next chapter. TAG

Author's Response:

LOL, not too many skittles for sure, but I hope at least a few more orgasms. *g*

Reviewer: Tagsit (Anonymous) · Date: April 09, 2013 11:00 AM · On: Part 1

Nice cliffhanger! Thankfully there's another chapter to go to. I'm off. TAG

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading! I'm glad you didn't have to wait as long as most did, lol. Hope you enjoy the next part.

Reviewer: LoveTheCoat (Signed) · Date: April 08, 2013 11:10 AM · On: Part 3

I....am kind of speechless! But in the best possible way. I really enjoy your writing style and I like how you've approached the characters post-series.

I admit I was hesitant to read this at first, seeing the length of time since the initial posting, but curiousity got the better of me and...well...I'm a sucker for angst and this is some heavy angst. I greatly look forward to more, and hope it comes sooner rather than later - but I also understand the slow process of writing! Thanks for the so far very excellent story!

Author's Response:

I am glad you took a chance. I do wish I could write faster, but I promise it won't be so long for the next part. Thank you so much for the kind words about the story. These boys do know how to break our hearts, don't they?

Reviewer: Carol (Anonymous) · Date: April 08, 2013 05:17 AM · On: Part 1

The previous reviewer pretty much said it all. I also began this story a while ago ... And I have to say it stayed with me for a long time. You write beautifully, so much so that I am seriously concerned for my sanity, with the heartbreaking story line and the warning that you write slowly. I don t think I have ever been so pleased to see an update ... Thankyou.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Carol. I appreciate you following the story after all this time. I hope this part didn't disappoint! I definitely won't be so long for the next one.

Reviewer: NoChaser (Signed) · Date: April 07, 2013 11:59 PM · On: Part 1

Oh my god...

You have no idea how very, very much I appreciate the update on this story. I haven't even read the new chapter yet and I'm already crying...

I read the first part of this over a year ago and my heart nearly stopped. I love angst, especially B/J angst. They were created for just that... But you... are absolutely the reigning prophet of gut wrenching angst in my book. And your writing is beyond stellar. That simply goes without saying.

Okay... enough of my hero worship. On to the guts of the matter...

Thank you. Break my heart if you must. I willingly offer it up. I'll take time off work to heal.

Author's Response:

Aaaah, a fellow B/J angst lover. They really do just ask to be put through the fire don't they?

Thank you for the amazing compliment and for still caring about this story a year later! I hope you enjoy part 3. Part 4 won't be too far behind, I promise.

I hope you have not given up. The story is very good and I would be happy to continue.
Describing the way in which their sex is unsurpassed. Brian is awesome and Justin is intoxicating. Thank you!

OMG, Please please please update and finish this story!!! Please. Did I say please?

Thank you very much for writing this; you've kept the characters pretty true to their characters on the show. I wasn't thrilled with the open-ending of the show (sobs), so please don't leave us hanging!

Long live Brian and Justin. <3

Reviewer: Corinne_K (Anonymous) · Date: January 25, 2012 12:16 AM · On: Part 1

Oh my. Not Brian. Not again. Not that goddamn thing again. *sobs bitterly*

This story is so heartbreaking and yet soooo beautiful, and probably one of the best fics I've ever read in English (which is not my mother tongue btw). I love your writing style, both Brian and Justin are so in-character, in every little detail, God, you're a true talent! and the sex scene is so captivating. So... er... exquisite. Love it.

Looking forward to another chapter, you made me a huge fan right from the beginnig)

A hug from afar.

PS. I love your Cynthia, she's the cutiest PA ever;)

Author's Response:

Hello again! I usually get an email when there is a new comment, but this one came through at the same time as the one for Valediction, even though I see it was from yesterday. Strange!

Yes, I'm afraid that Brian and Justin's world is about to get rocked, and not in the positive, life-affirming way. Thank god he has the sense to tell Justin up front this time (well, as up front as Brian Kinney gets). I love Cynthia. She's one of the few people in canon who was always there for Brian, without exception. I'm so glad you find my boys in character - that is the most important thing for me. And the sexy!times. My first attempt, so I'm happy to know that works, too.

I hope to have Part 3 ready before too long. Thank you again for reading, and for the lovely compliments. I appreciate it so much.

This isn’t how it’s supposed to be. I need you. I can't do this alone.

I enjoyed this first chapter! It is a well written and full of angst. I can't wait to read the rest. Justin having a child with Brian is always nice to read but the added pain of possibly losing Brian is hear breaking.

Author's Response:

Welcome! I'm glad you decided to read. Sadly, the heartbreak is just beginning for our boys.. but fortunately, the name of this story is Stronger! I hope you enjoy the next part, too. Thanks for commenting!
