Oh my goodness - still loving it! When these two finally get together, I may just spontaneously combust right along with them! Is it too much to wish that we find out where Ethan has gone, but keep him there - far away from the electric attraction between these two?''

favorite line this time..."They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. I preferred the shades drawn whenever I met another's gaze. I didn't like the way this kid was peeking through my drapes." - - - genious!

Author's Response:

Nice to hear you are still liking this read. I agree their heat is always so intense I almost feel it's firey rays through the tv when I watch or my computer when I read! :p & no, It is not too much to hope for at all for Ethan to maintain his distance, lol. On the outside looking in to Brian and Justin is Right where I like him. Thanks for reviewing. :)

Well well, just when I think you can't possibly outwit yourself, you go and write a chapter like this one! This story is marvelous. Cheatin' Ethan doesn't deserve Sunshine's love. Great Chpater! -Benny

"Carl Horvath as I live and drink."-lol

"That's shocking." "No wait, what's that thing that's the opposite of shocking?" :)

This story is just a great read and I am really looking forward to see this crime unfold even more. We know Ethan is no good. Time for Brian to prove it.

I love reading more of this! :-)  I was surprised at Brian's reaction to Gus; telling Lindsey she could count on him.  That made me happy, coz' he can be such an asshole sometimes.  We're starting to see little glimpes of humanity in him! LOL

Hugs, Cindy

Author's Response:

Yes, Brian can definitely be an ass, but I love his lighter, kinder moments that we all know are there...no matter how deep, deep , deeep down he tries to hide them.  Thanks for the review, glad you're enjoying the read. :)

"Brian Kinney Ma'am. Private Dick."

...

"The way I hears it, it ain't so private."

Hahahaha I almost spit out my drink when I read that. Your Brian is in character even in the 40's. You're amazing. This story is incredibly creative. You have such a great sense of humor!! thank you for sharing it, I can't wait to see where they go next.

Author's Response:

THank you for the kind review, I am glad you find Brian in character, I always try my best no matter what situation I stick him in. ;)

This was just amazing, Mandi. And, I must say - this has to be my favorite new story right now. It's so creative in such a unique flavor and originality. I'm positively hooked. I feel like I'm back in another time, watching it play out upon the screen - of course waiting for the 'private dick' to swoop in for his dramatic kiss. *Smiles* Your terminology is simply brilliant!  An interesting blond book my cock and I both wanted to read. -----brilliant! Thanks so much for this update. I am simply amazed and totally entranced!! =)

Author's Response:

It makes me incredibly in awe that this is a fave of yours, thank you!!! I wish gale and Randy really would act this out on screen, lol. But I'm positive we have them memorized enough to imagine it ourselves...delicious. :)

Reviewer: Predec2 (Signed) · Date: April 13, 2011 08:08 AM · On: You Call Everybody Darlin'

Okay, Mandi, you did it again!  This is so hysterical!  My favorite line for some reason in this chapter is the one about "many a kitten had come to me beggin' for milk I wasn't servin'."  This is so incredible, girl!  I am so jealous of your talent!  I will be anxiously awaiting where your little tale takes this!

Author's Response:

That's my favorite line too! :) My tremendous gratitude for the ribbon suggestion, but now I'm nervous. :P I hope I can continue to keep it worthy. Thanks again for always being so supportive of my words my friend. *hugs*

What a delightful read this story is! The lingo and fast paced wit are amazing! I wonder how long it takes Justin to forget all about Ian. lol i'm guessing not long at all. Please update soon! :o)

Author's Response:

thank your for reading and reviewing. I too love the simplicity and dry wit of the style, it's a blast to create. LOl yes, I know I certainly would forget all about ...'whatshisname' after meeting Detective Kinney. :P

Reviewer: Emily (Anonymous) · Date: April 05, 2011 09:03 PM · On: In the Blue of the Evening

I LOVE this so much. It's like Brian Kinney was born to be in a Noir detective role lol. You write this so perfect that I can easily picture this as a b&w movie in my head. Great start!

Reviewer: Benny (Anonymous) · Date: April 05, 2011 12:18 AM · On: Moonlight Cocktail

Haha, what great lines you have cleverly come up with! This story gets better with each word. I couldn't possibly choose a favorite line but I must say I may have laughed the most at this one: "I decided instantly that I'd keep a close eye on it. You know, as a public service." Great stuff, please keep it up! -Benny

Author's Response:

Haha YES! that is my favorite part too. Sometimes, I manage to amuse myself. :P I'm so happy you like this. More soon.

Reviewer: 4depthoflove (Anonymous) · Date: April 04, 2011 10:12 AM · On: Moonlight Cocktail

I can see I will be anxiously awaiting each chapter! This story is such a welcome departure to all those "I know just what's coming next' stories that are so common. And, of couse, I am still so enjoying the 'old PI' genre! You really have such a wonderful spin with words, some of your noir zingers make me step back and say...wish I'd said that - it's so clever!

from ch1 - 'My eyes had just been introduced to his ass, and already my cock was pleading with me to arrange a play date.' - precious

ch 2 - 'Then I remembered I was Brian fucking Kinney, and when I found a new ride I wanted to take for a spin, I cared very little about it's previous owners'  - so very 40's, yet, so very canon Brian

and... 'Gold's name rang fewer bells than Santa's sleigh in July' - classic (and for those of us who are no fan of 'Ian' - a real hoot!)

Don't keep us waiting too long for the next installment, I can't wait!

Author's Response:

I'm so happy that you are liking this story and taking the time to let me know your thoughts. it means so much. I hope I (or rather Detective Kinney) can continue to amuse. :) *hugs*

Reviewer: Gina Marie (Signed) · Date: April 04, 2011 09:57 AM · On: Moonlight Cocktail

omg I so love Brian in this role!  He's perfect!  I'm falling in love with 'this' Brian in a whole new way, and I never thought that could be possible!

Loving every minute of this story!

Author's Response:

Thank you Gina for your thoughts. Yes, I think Brian was a perfect character to try in this kind of role. His disregard for opinions, dry wit, rough edges and sexual intesity does a noir detective make. :P Happy you're liking this so far. more soon. :)

i can picture these settings in my mind-a black and white movie.  i love your english slang of that era.  so fitting to the story -good and amusing at the same time.  back seat driving-haven't heard that one for awhile.  good story.  my peeps are enjoying it also.

Author's Response:

A huge thanks and big hug to both you and your peeps! :) I'm so pleased that you are having fun reading it, as i'm having fun writing it. It's great to hear that you're picturing this in black and white, that's exactly how I'm hoping to portray it. I would love to see Gale and Randy really act this out...but that could easily be said about every fiction I've ever read. Lol. :P

Reviewer: kinnetic_bliss (Signed) · Date: April 04, 2011 07:18 AM · On: Moonlight Cocktail

You know, I didn't think you could outdo the first chapter - but what do you know? You did just that. I was smiling and ahhing through it all, hating for it to come to an end. Maximum cabbage, minimal bullshit - loved that! So utterly Brian Kinney - you write him so well. I'm anxiously awaiting more of this so cleverly written story! =)

Author's Response:

I can't tell you how it makes me smile that I'm making you smile with this story. Thank you for reading and as always for reviewing. I really am trying to keep Brian kinney true to himself in this. So far so good i think, hope it stays that way. More soon. *hugs*

Ah, Mandi - This is absolutely BRILLIANT!  All those snappy one-liners - I am so in awe of your writing.  "My cock invited him to sit down; he didn't oblige" - hysterical!  There are too many witticisms in this chapter to be able to do them proper justice here.  How in the world you can come up with these - and from the 40's, no less - is beyond me.:)  I am so jealous of your talent, my dear!  You've even got me running to the web to look up snappy comebacks, like this one:  Let's get out of these wet clothes and into a dry Martini.  See what you've done to me??  I am so glad you have found time to get back into writing, my friend...now I'm almost afraid to write any more of my own because they will pale in comparison...(have I laid on the praise thick enough now? LOL!).  It is so well-deserved, though - extreme kudos to your skill.:)

Author's Response:

Haha, yes my lovely I believe you've laid it on quite thick enough. :) But I thank you for every bit it. You yourself though deserve the thickest of thick praise for your works! You are a fantastic author. I'm so happy I'm making you laugh and that I'm eliciting the desire to research snappy lines, too funny. LOL I hope i can continue to be witty for the rest. :P More soon. *Big hugs*

Love, love love this! It's fresh and exciting!  It reads like a Micky Spillane Novel.  (so loved Mike Hammer!)

This really pulled me in!  Great job, can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

It's so wonderful to hear from you Gina! :) I'm happy to have pulled you in, hope I didn't tug to tight. :P Yes! I completely love the spillane spin, it should be fun to write. Hope I can do it and continue to entertain you with this one. *hugs* Mandi

Absolutley amazing!  The mood you set with your descriptions of the ambience is nothing short of brilliant!  I could actually feel the night!

A few of my favorites:

His face:--He wore cheap leather shoes and an expensive smile.

The mood:--flooding the streets with sexual sin. My sin of choice.

The night:--Eclipsed by a rainbow of neon, cigarette clouds, and the heavy smog of lower class.

Those eyes:--they'd show you your future, if you were brave enough to look ... I wasn't.

--Those endless oceans that made me want to take up sailing.

Wonderful! Just wonderful!  I can hardly wait for Chapter 2!

Hugs, Cindy

Author's Response:

Love this already. The old PI writing style is a fun diversion from the usual, and of course the little bit of canon thrown in with the lamppost make a fan take notice. Can't wait to read more!

What a treat, my friend, to see not only an update to your WIP but this new one as well!  Love the middle animated banner, BTW, with Justin in black and white from the Season 4 EP - how perfect for this story!  And I'm glad you included the dictionary at the end - LOL!  Didn't need it, though, to figure out why Brian needed a 'play date!" As always, your writing astounds me.  I will be waiting anxiously for any updates.:)
