Very nice! Sweet, but with just enough snark.

What a great Christmas outtake!!!    I loved it!!

Dani seems like a real cutie, and Brian is totally enamored by her.  And as much as he may complain about it, and there's a lot going on, I think he really enjoys his life.

Everything comes full circle, huh?   First Justin and now Gus!!   But truly, Mel and Lindsay are unbelievably stuck and up and no matter their own multitude of problems, see themselves as being superior over Brian.   And I loved it when Brian told them, they needed to start paying rent!!

Fantastic. I'm so proud of Brian for letting the girls know how he felt about their treatment of Gus. I loved that he looked after his son just like a parent should with love and care. I Hope Gareth is for life for Gus and that Gus remains happy.

This was so good I didn't want this chapter to end. Gus is so blessed to have dads like them, the love of his sister and Daphne. They understand him and respect him. I hope his boyfriend lasts forever x

Gus is such an amazing big brother and this showed it perfectly. His friends were truly amazing as well. If his dads ever found out what happened how he and his friends protected Dani they would be so proud. Fantastic work x

I read all the stories and I loved it, I really like the stories after 513 when Brian and Justin are together with Gus and other kids and with your series I'm thrilled. Thank you I hope there will be others.

Great little addition!!   I've never cared for Melanie and Lindsay and their holier than thou attitude towards Brian, and now they've seem to transcend that over to Gus as well.   But good for Brian for putting them in their place - loved it!!

Thank you for explaining where Dani came from, I was a little lost. In the Homework world Brian and Justin had custody of Gussy. What happened?

Great story.  Love grown up Brian and Justin.

Author's Response:

Thank you.  I like to explore how they might grow and mature without changing beyond recognition.

Terrific story.  Linds and Mel were never my favorites so this really seemed like theway they would act when faced with such situations.  Especially Mel who really is a nasty person.

Brian has mellowed over the years. Nicely done.

Author's Response:

Yes.  He has.  I think we all do. Glad you enjoyed.

I just loved the ease this family has with each other. daphne has known Brian almost as long as Justin so she recognises their personal tiggers and nuances. She is happy with the family she has with Dani and the boys and knows that they all will put Dani first. Brian automatically planning how to make sure everyone he loves in his inner circle needs are being met. Brian the ringmaster with the smile on his face and the love in his heart d84;a039; d84;a039;

Author's Response:

Thanks, C.  That's a great description of Brian.  And yes, ITA about Daphne.  I never forget that she was the one who saw the dance.  That alone, I think, gives her an insight into Brian that no one else in their circle can match.

Gus still has that innate goodness even though he is going through the teens where teenagers become snarky selfish werewolves! He protected Dani and was a total leader so much that when Rage came to the rescue he only had to do the mopping up. Rage Zephyr and JT were able to provide a safety net from the mythical creatures of the night and bring the boys in to see the value of Gus and not just his car.

Author's Response:

Thanks, C.  I think that Gus has some pretty good role models around him (at least in his fathers) and I suspect that, like Brian, his first instinct would be to protect his "family".  And yeah, it's nice that his friends got a chance to see and value the real Gus.

As you rightly say they are both selfish cunts! How the hell do you throw out your child or stop loving them because they resemble their biological parent! Pure spiteful jealousy! I loved the parting shot for them to pay rent lol

Loved this story.  Dab, what could be cuter.  Hope to read more in this universe.  Thanks!!!!!!  Bill

Author's Response:

Thank you, Bill.  I have to think that there will definitely be more in this 'verse.  I find it creeping up on me at odd moments.  Glad you enjoyed this one.

Wow.  That was amazing.  Rage to the rescue!  That's a halloween I'm sure he'll never forget.

Author's Response:

Thank you.  Yes.  It was fun to play with this one.

I agree things hadn't worked out too badly.  Paying rent was the least those two could do.  Though throwing them out would have been my preference.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: January 10, 2019 02:35 PM · On: Changing Roles

Amazing how happy Brian is with his life inspite of everything.

Author's Response:

Yes.  I think that almost despite himself, Brian is capable of finding happiness just by allowing himself to love freely.  And the kids free him up to do that.  Not to mention Justin.

Reviewer: cullengirl08 (Signed) · Date: December 23, 2018 01:20 PM · On: Christmas Surprise

Loved it!!   That was very cool of Brian and Justin to give Gus his own space.    If only he was with them full time, it would be even better.   Mel and Linds surely don't appreciate what they have - or had, as the case may be.    And even if Brian and Justin had broken up once - or three times, as they may think, years ago, they are still togeter now, all these years later.   Mel and Linds can't even say that!!!

Author's Response:

Thank you.  Yes.  I honestly think that Brian and Justin had the best chance of making it long term simply because they don't have all these romantic notions of what it means to be together.  Maybe Justin did once, but I think now he knows how to value Brian's ethics and honesty above fake romance any day.

Love this universe.  Not surprised by Mel and Lindz, but am delighted with Daphne and Dani.  The fact that Gus' dads fixed up a space just for him is truly fantastic.

Author's Response:

Thank you.  I like this 'verse too.  It's fun to visit every now and again.  Glad you enjoyed.

Gus is such a lucky boy ...... lovely story thanks for sharing

Author's Response:

Thank you,  Yes, in some ways he is.  In others, of course, he has to cope with the whole Linds/Mel thing.  Glad you enjoyed.

Oh Wren, I absolutely loved this. But anything from the Homecoming Series, is sure to be a given. Gus sounded so grown up for thirteen. But with Mel and Linds, it's only natural that he's had to. I love the sound of Justin and Daphne having a little baby. Seeing the story through Gus' thoughts and reflections was a nice change. And leave it to the three wonder twits, to tell him that Dus and Brian broke up three times, instead of the once. (but we won't mention the chin rat.)

The bedroom was a very nice surprise and the best gift Gus could have been given. It's what he wanted more than anything. And Brian and Justin realized that, and gave him what he needed. Super Dads.

You had me at "But I'll always be your Sonnyboy."  It chokes me up just writing it again.

Lovely Christmas Story.

HUGS ~ Cathy

Author's Response:

Thanks, Cathy

I agree that Gus would have had to grow up a little faster than most kids - partly because of Linds and Mel and partly just because he is the child of gay parents.  Also, while we know Brian adores his Sonnyboy I think in some ways he'd treat Gus in a similar way to how he treated Justin - with respect, encouraging him to be his own person, and doing whatever he could to enable Gus's growth, but also holding him responsible for his decisions.  It's a mix that I suspect would lead to Gus maturing fairly early.
