Author's Response: I was an EMT-2 (paramedic) for almost 8 years in California on a private ambulance service. I was in constant contact with cops and heard their gossip. I also dated a sex crimes detective for over a year. I studied to be a paralegal in college before changing majors. And yes, I watch TV. Enjoy the chapters waiting for you.

Things would be horrible if they did not police their own. Hobbs is now a broken man in his silent prison cell and easy pickings to be used by the gay agents for their fun. Author's Response: Yes, the Freeway Killer in Los Angeles killed dozens of boys. It was actually three killers with two copy cats killing at the same time. The main killer had a teenage lover who helped him pick up boys for their sick fun. My psychic saw his license plate number in a vision getting him arrested ending his reign of terror on California in the late 70s. Love you!

Very interesting chapter. I live in LA and there was a case like this years ago about a boy killed this way in a van. Great chapter.
Author's Response: I know about the case; it was called the "Freeway Killer". Several boys were molested and murdered with an ice pick by a man with a teenage assistant. And I know the psychic who solved it exactly as Justin did in my story. Small world huh? Thanks for commenting; now you know my secret for plot ideas for this story.

Office politics indeed...I've found that to be true no matter where I've worked. I've also found it true that one department will try to unload an undesirable employee onto another department, instead of taking the time to build the case for letting the employee go. Some real duds lasted for years at the last place I worked because no one wanted to be the bad guy. *rolling my eyes*
So another familiar name...Chris Hobbs. What a twit, more concerned about the promotion than whether he might get killed because he'd stick out so obviously as a narco plant. Doesn't say much about the intelligence in the narco department either, that they would select him. And if he screws up will Justin get blamed because he didn't train him properly? I mean pointing fingers is also a big part of the office political machine, too.

Justin's decision to only be a Pittsburgh detective impressed Brian very much and the offer to be a full detective and his PA was the next logical move for the department. I can understand moving Justin into a more private area, but moving him into the Captain's office had to tip off more people than just Emmett. But as everyone in the department is benefitting from their success/solve rate, it would be stupid of anyone to make waves. But then again, there are stupid and jealous people everywhere.
I'm glad that Justin gave the demonstration to Brian. Until Brian had seen it with his own eyes, I think he would have always been wary of sending Justin out to work on an 'exciting' case.
Loved the descriptive flow of this chapter, I could easily picture all of it.

Author's Response: It was logical to move Justin in since he was Brian's partner, and his lover. Nobody thought a thing about it. Emmett saw Justin with tons of evidence boxes and then mysteriously the cases got solved; that's how he put 2+2 together but he would never say a word to hurt Justin and Brian. They can tell him when they want to. Nobody else paid them that much attention to notice it. I'm glad the demostration details were easy to follow. Thanks again for commenting.

Author's Response: Justin tuned into the last moments of Michael's life; he could have gone back further. Brian was full of memories close to the surface making multiple vision for Justin more intense by his closeness with Brian; something he has never experienced before so he got many visions at the same time. Vision overload so to speak; Justin can handle the work. It's not mentally straining for him but will become boring as a cop in time. Thanks for commenting Gex so much! :)

Hi I'm ba-ack!! Sorry about before - yes I do know it is FICTION but as some fics do; it just pushed buttons (in fact I had a flash back to an incident I thought I had dealt with - as a teacher we sometimes get to deal with children who have been through and survived (of a kind). One of my most difficult but wonderful children (that I lost) had been through sexual, drug, verbal and physical abuse was the child I thought about. It is not just police and social services who 'know' the details; there are many ripples caused by these occurrences. OK onto my review, cos it was worth while returning and I really enjoyed this 'enhanced' Justin and his solutions to his problems - loved his priorities too! Also love the relationship between Justin and Brian and the rest of the charaters too; especially Craig and the others. I had the fleeting thought that it would be nice to be able to arrest them for the actual crime - homophobia, etc, unfotunately we can't arrest people for what they think - or maybe that is just as well! (If there were rabid conservtives in power - I'd be arrested!! LOL!) Aside from the hiccup I really enjoy this fic - specially the plotline. BTW I was not meaning to criticise you I was just trying to express my feelings as I felt guilty for not reading - not that there was anything wrong with your writing; I do understand you write as you need to write I just wanted you to know my reactions to it! Love your writing and look forward to more soon! :)
Author's Response: You made realize how bad reading about severe child abuse is and I added a stronger warning on the story banner and before the vision. I also took out the blood comment too to tone down the details. My readers dropped by a hundred after the chapter that bothered you so you were not alone. In a way if my writing got such an emotional reaction from you then it was very realistic and a back handed compliment. :)
I'm very happy you enjoyed the rest of the story and the new chapters that went up last night. Mr. Hamster is really in rare form today.

Author's Response: An Aikido master feels the energy around him; the number of attackers doesn't matter as the master redirects the energy of them against each other. I studied the art in my 20s and my teacher could take down 40 students at one time and not break a sweat. The art is that powerful. Kung Fu is very close to Aikido as many moves are the same. I am a mum too and this case of rape make me sick because I know that some people can be extremely perverse. In the media, we find these horrible news stories that they are sometimes beyond all comprehension ... Yes it’s hard, difficult, but this happens in real life as you report it…
So, despite this terrible case and Lindsay 's car accident, this chapter is wonderful. Gus is safe. Brian and Justin will have to raise the baby but I know they will be wonderful parents for the kid ... Melanie has done well here

OK..... let me get this straight.... are you just saying this for the sake of the story... or is it possible that anyone that knows Aikido...can do all that to 26 men who are bigger and have weapons????? I don't think even Bruce Lee could do all that....
Author's Response: An Aikido master feels the energy around him and redirects it; he makes the attackers--attack themselves. Even with a pile of men on top of him he can redirect their group energy and repell them off of him. I once studied the art and saw my teacher take down 40 students at one time and not break a sweat doing it. Thanks for commenting and for your interest.

Author's Response: It's a horrible subject and I tend to write graphicly with gorey details. I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to read it. I cry writng it.
