Reviews For How Sweet It Is

As much as there was in this chapter the way you ended it brought back some recent memories.  I was only on a swing about three weeks ago.  Yes, I occasionally do silly things, however, I'm sure the two year old, well almost three year old, I was with was swinging higher and faster than me.  Although, it is like riding a bike, you don't forget how to do it.  LOL

Seriously, I did enjoy being able to finally catch up once again with this fic.  The way you portrayed a lost Brian and a guarded Justin was superb.

Cheers :)

Author's Response:

I'm glad the chapter reminded you of a happy memory :-)

Awww...thanks for the compliment. You're giving me the warm and fuzzies!

I'm not so sure Brian is going to like what Justin has done. But it is rather curious that Ray might still be alive and Brian never knew about it.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you're liking this twist ...

Oh a new turn around...Please don't wait too long with the next chapter. What's going on?

Author's Response:

I'm not sure I answered any of your questions ... but I did write another chapter.

Oh oh! Hope, Brian doesn't shut down.  Great chapter. And an evil cliffhanger.

Author's Response:

I confess ... I am evil :-)

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: October 02, 2014 08:15 AM · On: Ray

How cruel.  First his dad tries to murder his brother then he tells Brian that Ray is dead.  Really need to find out what you have planned for the next few chapters!!!

Author's Response:

Jack is definitely cruel.

My question is, will Brian tell Justin about his uncle?

Author's Response:

that's definitely the question :-)

Reviewer: JAZZEPOET (Signed) · Date: September 28, 2014 01:06 PM · On: The Part Where Everybody's Vulnerable

I can see now that this isn't going to be easy for Brian.

Author's Response:

Definitely not. But there will be a neat twist :-)

This chapter made me very sad, and just a bit angry at Daphne...even though she didn't mean any harm.

Author's Response:

Writing it made me sad, too :-(

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: September 19, 2014 04:10 PM · On: Growing Pains

This chapter goes to show how cruel some people can be and actually think that it's funny.  I like that Daphne attacked steriotyping, but her deliberate tampering with Brian's food wasn't as funny in light of his memories.  I'm surprised he didn't up and leave.  The pain of remembering that time must have been unbearable.

Author's Response:

She didn't know. She was being a little rude, but there was more pizza. She would never hurt Brian like that intentionally.

Reviewer: Kathrin (Anonymous) · Date: September 19, 2014 03:42 PM · On: Growing Pains

Great chapter. I really like the whole story.Exept the part where Justin tried to loose weight. Then I was a little bit dissappointed and thought, that the story was going the same way as all the other stories. But I'm really impressed now.

I especially like your contemplations about advertising.

I'm  looking forward to the next chapters.

Author's Response:

I knew from the beginning that I didn't want Justin to lose weight. That portion of the story was designed to show two things 1) how much Brian hurt Justin and 2) how unsuitable Joe was for Justin. I'm sorry to have put both you and Justin through that :-(

I'm so glad you enjoyed my thoughts on advertising :-)

Reviewer: Severus_divides_into_H (Signed) · Date: September 15, 2014 05:51 PM · On: We're Gonna Go a Different Way

I loved this chapter! It was complicated, because I actually like Joe very much, I think he helped Justin a lot, and he wasn't embarrassed to be seen with him at all, unlike Brian. But, he did push too hard. That must have hurt Justin's feelings - Justin is really sensitive here, even if he tries to hide it.

And of course I love jealousy! Jealous Brian is my favorite!:)

Thank you!

Author's Response:

Jealous!Brian IS hot!

I don't think many noticed this, but Joe thought when he first met Justin that he was hot in spite of his weight. Brian had gotten to the point where he just liked Justin, all of him (he still hadn't gotten beyond his vanity in public, but privately he liked all of Justin--so he was a bit more evolved than Joe in that regard. he didn't want Justin to lose weight, but Joe always did).

Wow, this chapter is just perfect for such an angst-lover like me! I *loved* it, it was amazing and touching – and sad. Made me sweat a little, but I’m always up for that :) I’m glad that you didn’t make Justin forgive Brian easily, how he said it’s okay, but still felt subdued and hesitant. I was relieved he told Brian what was bothering him, though – and completely amazed that Brian agreed to stop tricking. Now I can’t wait to see if he’ll be able to really withstand the temptation!

Thank you, I re-read this chapter a few times. Fantastic!

Author's Response:

This Brian is a little older than canon!Brian was when B/J met...Brian was jealous of Joe from pretty much the beginning...he'd gotten protective of Justin (people at Babylon and Mikey were cruel to Justin)...he feels something not good about how their whatever ended before (he wouldn't call it guilt or regret...)...and he's just spent 2 months without Justin...so he was primed for this leap. He would do a lot to get what they had back. Plus, he'd pretty much stopped tricking on his own before Dylan...

I'm so glad you liked it enough to read more than once :-) I tried to make it angsty and beautiful.

Justin may love Brian, and he does, but Brian REALLY hurt him. That doesn't just go away.

I love that Brian loves Justin for being Justin and not for how he looks. Sigh, if only more people were like that.

Author's Response:

I agree. That would make the world a much better place.

I'm glad they got that settled.  Poor Brian, he really didn't know what to do.

Yeah...he was a bit lost.

Girl you're going to give me a heart attack! Lol but the silver lining is that our boys are giving themselves a chance.

Author's Response:

Indeed. Justin came close to walking away, and Brian seriously pondered giving up. But they both decided to try. Oddly enough, they've switched positions...Brian's a little more about trying than Justin right now.

YAY! you're writing it! my favorite story, if only you knew how much i was agonizing that it isn't finished! you left it on a place where i was ready to kill brian! i'm still angry at him so much, but since justin has forgiven him, i guess i shouldn't be angry. but he has to work to deserve my trust again! and justin's! anyway, they are amazing together, and i sort of undersatnd how horrible it is for brian to have fallen in love with a fatty. really, that's embarrassing... but justin is working on it, and he's wonderful anyway.

Author's Response:

I'm sorry I left it in such an awful place before. Brian is going to be working to get them back to where they were before (well, minus the bad parts).

Author's Response:

Nope. I knew at the beginning that Justin would not change physically. He's not unhealthy. He's plump. And I'm okay with that. I've read tubby Justin stories where he loses weight, and I decided I liked it better if he could love himself the way he is (and if Brian could also).

 Hey Diana

I've been wanting to start this story ever since I saw the new updates and although I am still weeks behind with some fics I have decided I just couldn't wait any longer.  I love this premise.  I have only read one other fic where Brian has had to see past the skin deep beauty of Justin.  I like how you introduced Justin in the first chapter; you did it so well without overdoing it.

Cheers :)

Thanks so much for the compliment! It's always hard starting a new story especially an AU one. Hard to know what to include.

I'm so grateful for this glimpse into Justin's mind - now I undersatnd his decision even better. Brian is really like an addiction to him, he can't stand being withput him, but he knows that staying is dangerous and will probably cause him incredible damage. As huge angst-lover, I'm looking forward to it - or to any other trouble that is waiting for boys. But I also feel sorry and hopeful - Justin needs support, and Beian can give it to him. Brian can be wonderful  - when he wants to be.

I love this story so much, thank you! I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

I'm so happy you liked this part!

Yes, Justin knows Brian could really hurt him, and he's scared. But the alternative is much worse, so he's letting himself be a little vulnerable. Their relationship progress will continue to "stutter" for a while...

I *loved*  this chapter, really loved it, it was amazing - you gave us such a deep, precise picture of Brian's mind! I was dying to know what was going on with him, what he felt, why he did those things, and now I know. I'm happy he recognizes finally what he feels for Justin, but I think that maybe he still isn't quite ready to live with that and to introduce Justin to everyone as his boyfriend. Only time will change that, and I can't wait to see it - I love physcology, and you're great at building it - and building up the tension! Thanks, great chapter!

Author's Response:

I'm so happy you liked this one. I tried very hard to capture the enigma that is Brian :-)

He is definitely NOT ready to live with his choice. But the alternative is much worse, so he's going to try ...

I loved Justin's answer, and the whole resolution. Both Brian and Justin have to work really hard to get back to where they were, and to move forward. But I believe in them, because their feeling are strong. This is a very unusual situation! I can't wait to see where you'll take us!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you weren't disappointed at Justin's answer. Don't worry. I've got lots of angst-potential still to work with. With B/J in general and this B/J specifically, I just can't leave them apart for long (in terms of the number of chapters anyway -- I know I jumped two months). This Brian is about to grow in leaps and bounds :-) But it will be painful.

Reviewer: Severus_divides_into_H (Signed) · Date: August 26, 2014 03:32 PM · On: Just Stay

I'm practically shaking with excitement right now! It was an incredible chapter, so tense and painful. I'm glad Brian and Justin are finally talking... I don't know what will happen next, but I hope Justin will not forgive him right away. Or at least won't fully forgive him immediately, because what Brian did was really bad, I'm not sure I could ever forgive that. I wonder whether Justin can.

Author's Response:

Things are definitely starting to come out into the open. Brian will have to start actively choosing rather than depending on pretexts. He will no longer be able to get what he wants without asking (Brian is truly brilliant at that in every incarnation).

I can't tell you how happy I am that you're continuing this! This is one of my most favorite story, I so wanted Brian and Justin to be happy, and you left it on such a cliffhanger! But now I'm super-excited, and I'm so glad they finally met again! Thank God for Molly!

Author's Response:

I know ... I feel so bad for where I left them. I meant to continue it much sooner than I did. Thank goodness for Molly indeed. She has that Taylor determination. She knows what she wants and pursues it relentlessly :-)

Hi! OMG! This is an amazing story and Brian and Justin so sweet. Okay, Justin is a little overweight...;) Nobody ist perfect...;) I need more...;) Thank you so much for sharing...Many greetings...:)

This story has been so entertaining that I have read it every chance I could while preparing and on vacation. I had read most of this years ago, so I had to re-read it and enjoyed every chapter even more. Delightful! :)

Author's Response:

I'm so happy you've found the story entertaining. I'm especially happy that you still like the story upon rereading :-) I'll be posting more updates in a few days.

We're getting close.  Just a little bit more.  Molly better make sure that everything turns out right.

Author's Response:

Yes, definitely. Brian has claimed Justin in private. Now he just needs to in public.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: August 21, 2014 07:05 PM · On: Existential Crisis Part 1: Brian

Nice summation.  Let's only hope Justin buys it and admits he never wanted Joe in the first place.

Author's Response:

Thanks!

Justin's definitely not ready to be completely open. He wanted to before, but then Brian crushed his heart. Now he's a little nervous.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: August 21, 2014 06:42 PM · On: Consensus Building

Now that's more like it.  At least Gus got his Sweetie back and Molly talked sense into all of them.  Out of the mouth of babes.

Author's Response:

Indeed. Children are much more observant than most give them credit for and sometimes the simplicity they offer is exactly what adults need more of.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: August 21, 2014 06:18 PM · On: Just Stay

Molly is a hero.  Did it work?

Good question!

Darn, what did Dylan do?  Why is Sweetie under the couch?  At least Molly hasn't forgotten Gus.

Yes, she kept her eye on the ball :-)

Oh no, a complication in the form of Dylan.

A BIG complication.

How did a bat get into Brian's apartment.  Thank goodness Molly looked after Gus.

Author's Response:

How do they ever? The loft is in an older building (One got into an apartment I had once in an old building -scared me half to death).

How cute of Molly to pretend that the toy cat is a mouse.  But what is the kiss and a bat(the flying kind)?

Author's Response:

it actually is a mouse (and a cat toy). One of my cats had one. Had a remote to move it and everything.

This is kinda scary.  Suppose it wasn't Brian.  It's dark, it's late.  I'd be scared.

It sounds more and more like Brian and Justin, yet.... Brian would know who he's e-mailing since he's the one who posted the pictures.

Author's Response:

He does...this is his way of talking to Justin honestly while still having plausible deniability

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: August 20, 2014 11:11 PM · On: Barney Inkin

It does sound like Brian, but would Brian need to post to a dating web site?  Did he check Joe's e-mail?  That Brian is so sneaky taking all those pictures.  I have a niece who does the same thing and then I find out on facebook.  Posting pics of Gus and Molly doesn't seem like a good idea.

Author's Response:

Their faces aren't showing.

I thought doing a profile for Brian would be fun...so I only thought about my own amusement not whether he'd actually do it...

So Brian caught him at it.  lol.  The middle section was HOT!  Now how do you get Justin out of having to date the imaginary Joe whom both he and Brian don't want him to do?

Love this Brian.  Now I'm hungry for something from Roy's!!!

Author's Response:

Me, too! Brian's being older than he was at the start of QAF (and seeing Justin primarily in contexts where his friends are not) has allowed Brian to show a rare part of himself.

Reviewer: YumYumPM (Signed) · Date: August 20, 2014 09:03 PM · On: Babylon, Part 1

Wow!  I'm impressed.  Glad Mikey wasn't there.  Just thinking of the whining that would have produced makes me shudder.

Author's Response:

If he'd had more of an audience for that refusal it might not have happened. Helps that Brian had a goal in bringing Justin to Babylon and tricking would have made achieving that goal impossible. Gotta love the goal oriented :-)

Great story. I usually avoid reading any Brian or Justin FAT stories like plaque, except for MPREG stories(HINT! HINT!). This story however keeps me wanting more and more. The many situations that Justin's potbelly can get into are just so ridiculously hilarious that I strongly suggest you post a warning like 'DO NOT EAT OR DRINK WHILE READING THIS CHAPTER' before certain chapters. I nearly laugh myself to hyperventilation reading some chapters. Thank you for creating such a funny and intriguing story. Looking forward to your updates.

Author's Response:

This IS one of my more humorous stories...lots of fun to write. I'm so glad you are enjoying it (and that you gave it a chance even though the premise isn't generally up your alley).

You are very welcome!

Brian is unparrelled when it comes to advertising.  He can sell anything, even Justin.  Justin's managed to talk Brian into giving him more tips. Can't wait to see what he comes up with.   Plus we get to meet Gus and Molly.

I was a little nervous doing Gus and Molly (kids can be tricky), but they ended up being a big source of funny...I love writing them now.

You have to admit that Brian is honest, even brutally honest.  On the other hand he's already fallen for Justin, he just doesn't know it yet.

Author's Response:

For a man who prides himself on his ability to see the world as it is, where Justin's concerned (in every universe) he is always self-deluded.

Reviewer: JAZZEPOET (Signed) · Date: August 20, 2014 02:23 AM · On: Existential Crisis Part 1: Brian

Very revealing...

I hope that means you liked it. I usually avoid thought-only chapters, but I decided I needed a couple. Although I think I'll also push the plot forward in Justin's EC chapter.
