Author's Response: You spelled it right. Hitting bottom will do that to an honest man. Brian too has the same hunch as you as a supporting role at Kinnetik. I didn't see this chapter coming. You never think about older workers or what happens to men who fail. Vance has so much promise and Brian was wise to give him a chance. I feel like I'm taking a very interesting business course reading this story as well as enjoying B&J's relationship and friends.
I have a good feeling about Vance now.
Author's Response: "Ah, but for the grace of God goes I" Brian was thinking looking at Vance across his desk, down, low self esteem, broken, ont the edge of wasting the rest of his life. Brian did have a good relationship with Vance until the Stockwell fiasco happened and Vance let him go in fear. Honestly, Vance barely passed the interview.

Mel cleaning out Vangard had me laughing out loud. Justin realizes how much kip thomas hurt Brian, interesting that you hint he might tell Brian what he did. The growth of Kinneitic makes good sense. Things are growing on two levels, tearing down one company to help build another one; sounds like nature.

Author's Response: Thank you Coffee Queen (love that name) for letting me know you're reading and enjoying the story. The only threat to the story is if I don't get reviews on the chapters. They motivate me to write and I get depressed if people don't review. So far support has been excellent and my plot hamster in my head is very active with the new ideas needed. I only write one novel at a time and update very fast; often several chapters a day before sleeping a day or two. You can count on me to write and finish a story if I don't have a RL emergency happening.

I love your writing, I really do, but was just not right the way Brian handled the Gus thing. It was almost like he was to busy to care, not at all the way he usually is with Gus.
Author's Response: Huh? Brian made very sure his son was ok and out of danger. He didn't over react or under-react. Gus wasn't out long enough to be harmed. Have you ever dealt with kids? Swallowing and choking is very common and easy to fix. If Brian and Carl; a man who is a very good judge of an emergency felt that Gus was in the slightest danger they would have called for the paramedics. Gus was conscious, talking, reasonable, conherent. and even giving excuses for his actions and being sorry.
Brian could have spent the day in the nursery instead of working. Would you prefer that? Was it necessary?
Thank you for your concerns; perhaps I failed to show his compassion enough but it was all there.

Bless you for the constant reviews; I have a plot hamster in my head who is addicted to review crystal meth; he snorts the lines my readers write and gets high then spins out ideas for me to write down. If he finds no new review lines to snort, he has no ideas and I can't write! (My way of begging for reviews with animal drug abuse humor).

Author's Response: Brian and Ted were having fun talking! Did you think they were serious?
Remember Vance fired Brian and almost destroyed him. Let the story unfold before passing judgment yet. Yes, it's just a story but Brian took on 20 million of work for less than 5 million cash, and some used furniture, equipment, and whatever Mel can salvage there. There is no pension fund to rob. Brian is obligated to perform for the clients. Most of the staff will be fired=fact of life in business takeovers.Kinnetik doesn't need them.
Vance gets a very small pension and a few surprises not yet revealed but totally legal. The right things and the profitable think in not the same when a company is going down. Kinnetik isn't responsible for Vance's credit problems. Brian's a hero for saving Vangard's client's butts. The rule of thumb in a take over is maximize profit and limit libilities. Duh? Business 101 will teach that the first semester in college.

This was a fun chapter. Loved how you broke it off in Mrs. Griffin with the divorce settlement. Great idea for Jennifer now owning her own real estate company. Author's Response: With God as my witness I'm only hooked on 5 Hour Energy-Extra Strength. I slam those and write up a storm for a couple of days and then crash to bed for 12-15 hours, and get up and do it again. Weird schedule but it works for me and gives you good people lots to read fast. Compare that to writers who have 12+ stories in the fire lasting weeks between chapters on each one. I write one novel at a time and belt it out before starting a new one. That's my style and it's working very well for me. Thank you for reviewing.

This was a weird chapter; you have heavy gay code many readers may not appreciate unless gay males; i.e. the code to break down the defenses of a new gay man to become a bottom for the first time. I wish I had a dime every time I used those lines and they worked! Then we have the parallel metaphor of Rodeo Drive and the fact that getting a virgin to take it up the rear is like a rodeo contest roping a calf mentally. And a smaller metaphor of the beautiful boy Mark followed by Gus; both innocent and precious on two different levels. I wanted to take the chance with this review to help others see some of what that chapter held. There is hope I'm not truly insane if you can understand Me. hehehehehe

Brian has really a huge heart and he is family-minded. Financial assistance and a job for his sister, just that. It's so true she and her mother are wonderful with him ... In his place, I won't even lifted a finger. Nada, nothing. They were really lucky and he gets a simple thank you! Well, Claire should grovel in front of him ... Pfff!
Fortunately I haven't to wait and see what happens to Carl. Poor Debbie, it's a shock

Brian could have told his family to kick rocks but then he would a worse set of problems to deal with. This way he moves some money around, calls in a favor and family crisis solved and he'll make money in the long run. Brian's not stupid. I burst out laughing with comments (Oh, my abs !). I don't know what I like most here, the chapter or the debate... To start, it's a very nice chapter, a little hard with the jail scene, but also full of emotions... After, what a hassle ! Ok, there is a little time between Justin and Jerry. So what ? For a first contact with the gay world, he couldn't be more lucky. It's always easier with a wonderful guide. I saw many first times turn in complete disaster around me. Of course, your world has its codes, its own rules and sometimes, straight people are destabilized because it's non standard. I don't know if I'm very clear (in french, I could fill pages on the topic) but I think the gay world understands better the straight world than the opposite. Anyway, I'm not shocked here but it's true I'm a straight girl living in your world. And it's not always easy but it gives me different standpoints...

Hello, my dear... I'm finally at home, phew ! Well, I still need to be careful, rest a little but it's my second c-section, so I've some practice and then, I'm in high spirits. I've too a great family. They have arranged everything (meal, housework, shopping...). And with a daddy physical therapist and a mom nurse, I've a good team around me...Now, baby Maïalen (Oh, she's so cute) takes a nap with her daddy. Txabi, my elder, is gone with his idol, Gehexan. (you bet ! My bro has a motorcycle and he teaches him how to surf, he has A LOT OF friends...). Pfff, ungrateful son ! Fortunelly, I've my daughter now !!! ;) So, the weather is wonderfull, I'm in the shade, near the pool, ready to savour this beautiful story...and comment (a little bird told me you're greedy for reviews !)
Well, this chapter is remarkable. I'm delighted to see Michael has lost everything. No compassion for him or Lindsay. They are vile persons.
