I so enjoy these glimpses into the daily life of the Taylor Kinney family. d84;a039;

What a relief for the everyone, including Joan, that she's now able to take care of herself. She chooses not to grow and be loved, so I guess she's satisfied to be alone and lonely. It seems doubtful that Peter's Christmas wish for her will come true.

Author's Response:

Joan was happy to go home and everyone was happy to see her go.  Everyone in Joan's life disappoints her so I think that is why she likes to be alone.  Glad you are enjoying cathcing up.  I am enjoying your reviews!!  Bill

Sweet Baboo, There must be something really wrong with me, as hateful as she is I still feel for Joan. Craig will be alone for Christmas as he was for Thanksgiving his careing is too little to late. After hearing the story Joan told Peter I felt there was a little regret that she followed in her mother's footsteps.Gus will be with his mothers on Christmas Eve, I was hoping since the boys were raised Catholic and I'm sure Joan has missed daily mass, that Brian and Justin would take the boys and their grandmother to midnight mass, it seems like Brian would do this for the boys and the midnight mass is so beautiful I think even Brians offer her this service as a gift to the boys but deep down he still cares for her in his way. Christmas is a time for renewal. I realize he'll probaby never forgive her but she feels the lost of her daughter and her grandsons even Brian knows a little jester on his part would help her being so alone. Like I said my head is most likely missing some gray matter.Your crazy Sally

Author's Response:

my darling, deluded Sally, I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for midnight Mass this Christmas Eve, maybe in the future.  You need to revealuate your sad feelings for Joan.  She has had a bunch of opportunities to start to become part of her son's life and rebuffs each opportunity.  She has had a sad life but seems to want that sadness and lonliness to continue.  Sorry we disagree on the topic of Joan.  Other than your sympathy for Joan I am always happy to read your comments.  Thanks for being such a faithful reviewer.  your sweet Baboo

YO!! It's MONDAY!!!!!!!! :) Guess who?? ;)

I find it facinating how you are able to go from one extreme to another in your characterizations. I mean, you have the great family dynamics between B&J along with Gus, Jennifer, Alice, Charlie, John and Peter, (and friends) then you have the opposite end of the spectrum with Joan, Ron, Nancy, etc. You do justice to all the characters beautifully, whether it be in a positive or a negative way. You make us want to totally embrace the good, yet equally want to kick the asses of the others.

It kind of felt like watching a Christmas movie in this chapter. A mix between a hallmark family smooshie movie and Scrooge. LOL. Gus's heart...oh, mine just swells at this young boy. He's truly a product of Brian and Justin. who says biology has to be the biggest part. Nope. Peter and John are also examples of this. Seeing the difference between when they first arrived to now is amazing. (mind you, their negativity didn't last very long) both of they standing up to Joan they way they did, showing affection towards her, yet still telling her how ungrateful she is. Peter was right, she's so blind to them being gay, that she can't see anything else. Like the adage, can't see the forest for the trees. Peter almost made me weep with his wish for Joan. Glad she's gone finally. While there might not be much interaction with her, she's like a cloud overhead. A constant reminder of negativity. It always boggles me when I come across people like that. The right wing "christians" who take teh bible vertbatim. I know....I've said this before, but really....how can people call them selves Christian, when it's so blatantly obvious that they don't live a Christian life? That they seem to prefer the rigidity of the the Old testament over the love anacceptance in the New, yet it's out of god sense of love and acceptance that we even HAVE a New Testament. *sigh*...people astound me sometimes.

Nice touch at the end, where the boys come in and hug Brian. Seeing Joan's negativity forst hand on a daily basis, definitely makes them appreciate Brian and Justin so much more. Not for what they can give the boys in a material way, but the love and support they receive.

Lovely chapter once again.

Cheers,

Elaine

Author's Response:

Hello my Monday Buddy. always so happy to see your review!!  Your comments are always so kind and so good fro my ego, thank you for that!!!!!!  I love Gus in this story and I agree he is a product of his Daddies who are always there to support him and reassure him.  I sometimes think I should have made John & Peter more troublesome at the begiining of their stay but I think they realized life was SO MUCH BETTER with the uncles after a year living with drug addicts that they fell in line quickly.  Joan is a cold hearted bitch, no way around that fact.  To Joan Brian & Justin are gay so they are bad people no matter what they do.  Peter made a nice wish for his grandmother but I don't think that wish is coming true anytime soon.  I am so with you regardng the old testament "christians".  The world would be so much better if people didn't judge each other.  There is an old song "What the world needs now is love"  and boy that is truer now more than ever!!!!!!!

I'm not sure Brian thought those hugs were "nice"  In some ways I think he is more comfortable with Joan's indifference.  Elaine, my friend, thanks you for all your support for this saga.  I really appreciate all your reviews!!!!!!!!!!!  Bill

It was a fun and happy chapter until we got to Joan.  I had no

idea which way things would go with her.  But you know, as Peter

said, her going home to be alone is probably what she wanted.

Well she got her wish.  It is sad, and just before Christmas.  A

small piece of me hoped that with the holidays, and having Peter

and John around, she would become more accepting of Brian and

Justin.  Oh well!

A word of warning.  In his own way, Michael’s situation is becoming similar to Joan.  He has said enough awful things that

who except for Debbie cares about him.  That is sad.

How about a good word for Claire?  Let me throw a little guilt

and maybe since it is Christmas, how about a visit by her sons or

maybe some gifts?  Just a suggestion.

Anyway, thanks for the chapter I enjoyed it.

Oh yes, Brian and the tinsel was very funny.  I had to mention

that.

Author's Response:

I don't thnk Joan is sad.  I think she prefers to be alone with her bible and lament how the world is a bad place.  No one quite meets her standards so she avoids everyone.  I think Ben still has some feelings for Michael but he really needs to get a job and contribute to their household.  I believe Debbie may try and help the job hunt, anything to keep him out of her happy home with Carl.  Wonder who she will ask about giving Mikey a job???????  You are correct Claire should get some Christmas gifts from her sons, that is only right.  No visit until she owns up to her responsibility for what John & Peter went through in that last year they lived with her.  She has never apologized to them or to Brian & Justin for the kidnapping attempt.  Happy to know you enjoyed this chapter.  Borderline OCD Brian is the perfect person to place that tinsel one strand at a time.  Always look forward to your comments, you always give me food for thought.  Thanks for the review, everyone know how much I love to get reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Bill

Godd to know that John and Peter recognize how ungrateful and angry Joan is.  Glad that they see how good Brian and Justin are.

Author's Response:

I think John & Peter have a long history with Joan and have no illusions about her character,  Especially in the young hope springs eternal.  So far there seems to be no hope for Joan.  John & Peter are wellaware of how good their life is with the uncles.  Happy to know you are still enjoying the story.  Thanks for the review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Bill

Sorry this is a little late.  I spent a week at Disney and while I had a chance to read this there I couldn't remember my password to leave a comment.  It was so nice for Gus to come home and see all the decorations.  I enjoyed the hiking vs walking talk and it looks as though hiking won.  Charlie is so smart to come up with a plastic sheet under Gus chair when he had his favorite meal of spaggetti and meatballs.  The decorating of the tree was another great time had by all.  Gus is also so sweet to worry about Joe. Justin and Gus going shopping made a perfect time for John and Peter to say goodbye to Joan.  She had a lot of nerve saying that Brian was self-rightous as that is a perfect description of herself.  John let her have it though and though Peter was nicer about it he admitted that he agreed with John.  So Alice and Cassie ended up taking Joanie home.  As Alice so eliquently but it "Goodbye and good riddance.  Loving this and looking forward to yet another chapter.

Author's Response:

Hope you had fun at Disney. Never too late for a review!!!  I don't think Brian actually cares about walk vs hike, he just doesn't like his Sonny Boy taking Tucker's side of the discussion.  When my niece and nephew were young we always put a plastic table cloth under their chairs if we ate in the dining room.  Makes a meal much less stresful.  Joan sees things her way and she thinks she is always correct when most of the time she is on the wrong side of things.  She will be happy alone in her hosue with no one to argue with her point of view.  My friend, thanks as always fr your review.  I never feel a chapter is complete until I read your comments!!!!   Bill

yay. Joan the evil witch is gone. I hope she does not ruin their Christmas.

Author's Response:

I think Joan is as happy to be away from them as they are for her to be gone.  I don't see any Christmas contact.  Thanks for the review!!!!!   Bill

I can just see a neurotic Brian hanging each piece of tinsel uniformly spaced on the tree. I think Justin's excitement has Brian letting go of his childhood disappointments about Christmas. Later Hon ~ Kathleen

Author's Response:

Brian does have that touch of OCD, a perfect tinsel hanger.  I think Justin and Gus are both reponsible for Brian's cautious enjoyment of Christmas.  Thanks for the review.  Hugs,  Bill

My favorite kind of chapter the 5 boys getting ready for the Holidays. Brian got his holiday wish Joan is gone. Love how Jennifer handled Ron. I think all 3 of those boys are going to have a great Holiday and I can't wait until there are 5 kids in that house. Sorry for the short review but I am happy to see another chapter and I cant wait for more Especially since I am very curious what Brian got for Justin.

Author's Response:

Glad you enjoyed the first October update.  Joan has returned to her single blessedness.  Lots of extravagent gifts will be exchanged.  Thanks for the review!!!!!   Bill
