Claire and her last fight, ridicilous, self-centered, full of lies. I still hope prison will give her time to face some of the truths of her life - otherwise.....
My favourit line is BRian´s "..just don´t make it a habit.." after John´s hug! Brian is uncle of the year, that´s for sure. :)
Of course I have to refer to your connection homophobia - mass murder in Third Reich. You did right, and we have to be aware of any kind of hatred around us.
I grew up in Heidelberg, where also thousands of American GIs lived. I couldn´t unterstand how our liberators face racism and homophobia themselves in society - but now I´m older and see: There is no guarantee, we have to watch out. Speak up! Say No!

Author's Response: My friend, your English is much better than my German which is nothing. My Great Grandmother came to the US from Hesse in the late 1800's. My grandmother often threw German words into her conversations, at least she told us they were German words. Happy you enjoyed this latest chapter. Brian really only enjoys hugs with his Sunshine. I agree we always have to remember and watch out for prejudice and bigotry. I always liked that poem I quoted, it tells a complex story in a simple way. I am almost done the first draft of chapter 73.

I just read the latest chapter, and laughed and laughed at Claire's letter, really Brian's grades made her look bad, how dumb can she get. Joan looked silly after had to admit that Brian arranged for her to attend her grandson's birthday party thanks to Jen. Claire and Joan are seriously suffering from lack of brain matter. It's sad Nora doesn't realize that she was wrong in her opinon of Justin and Peter, I was so glad her aunt stood with her husband and was sending her home.You know what I'm going to say: More chapters please, this story just grabs you and it's hard not knowing what's happening, just a really great story.
Author's Response: Claire's letter is pretty silly but it shows how she thinks of herself as a helpless victim. Joan just can't get her head around real life, she wants life to be a certain way and people to behave a certain way and that is just not working out for her. I am happy you are still reading and enjoying the story. To be honest I am a little surprised the sotry has gone on this long but as long as people keep reading and reviewing I will keep writing. Gotta say I love this. The most important part, to me, was the interaction of Nora and her aunt. The poem you added was perfect and can't be mentioned enough.
Now to get to Claire and her warped view of her life. She could get away with a plea of insanity, since that is what she is. Her mother needs to join her, except that might continue to perpeptuate the lies.
Love how the judge didn't buy into her lies.

Author's Response: Really pleased you liked the Nora/aunt exchange. That was my favorite past of this chapter. I love that poem, written about the Nazis, but can still serve as a warning to warn about extremists forever by just changing the groups that are targetted. I think Jennifer is correct, Joan should be in prison, her cold heartened, negliectful mothering is what set the stage for everything that comes after. Again, good to have you back. Thanks for the chapter. Since Claire is such an important
character, I keep hoping that with Tino gone she would sort of
understand things better. It did seem that everything she said
and did was drugs and addiction related. But that letter… I
don’t see what she had to gain by writing it. Maybe jail is the
best place for her.
In the conversation between Jen and Joan, Jennifer left out
that Claire could be going to jail for murder. The murder of
her son Justin. Luckily Justin was spared, and of course it could
have been Peter. It doesn’t appear that Joan understands or 3
cares.

Author's Response: I think maybe Claire got involved with drugs because of all her life issues. Like Brian she was a basically unhappy, screwrd up person from her horrible childhood. Brian got some Sunshne in his life , Claire wasn't that lucky. Maybe jail will shock her into an hinest look at her life. Jennifer feels the real villain is Joan because she was such a really bad mother and did not protect her children from abuse.

A great chapter as always, I love the scene in the court, I'm not American but it seems believable, I saw alot American shows on tv and it's pretty much the same, and Claire's letter is just sickening, she just gets herself more troubles, as if she doesn't have enough already, she asks new attorney?well good luck with that AND I hope there will be more encounters between Jennifer and Joan, I hope there will be scenes that Jenn confronts Joan's stupidity, I love that lol, I love the way you write Jennife, she's smart, witty and outspoken mother. Looking forward for Brian and Justin in the same scene again, hot smut san fransisco chapter maybe? lol. hopefully you can write next chapter soon! thanks for sharing this wonderful chapter and story!
Author's Response: I think a judge could be amused by all the discussion in this case, helps relieve the tedium of a lot of court cases. Claire alone is pretty fascinating and then to add in Joan WOW! I am glad you love my Jennifer, she is always looking out for her boys. I think Joan will try her best to avoid havng many confrontations with Jennifer but I don't think this is last time they see each other. Another great chapter.
Justin did well explaining what had happened to Peter.
Amazing how Claire can blame Brian for everything from being born to helping her children in the bitchiest way she can.
Poor Brian, having to endure another hug from his nephew. :)
Glad to see Rick's wife tell off her bitch of a niece.
Happy to see the boys working together to help out their Drama Queen uncles.
Love how Jennifer showed up at court to protect her family, and how she told Joan that she deserves to be in prison with her daughter.

What can I say that I haven't already...this chapter was especially good for me. I love how the judge handled Claire and Joan's foolery in court, I'm glad he was able to see past the bullshit. What stood out more for me though was Nora's aunt and her lesson on prejudices and the different groups they affect...I've had to deal with it all of my life because of my skin tone so I can appreciate someone like her addressing it the way she did. Thank you for making it part of your wonderful story.

I thought Nora was a good opportunity to show that prejudice and bigotry are not new concepts and when they are not challenged horrible things can (and have) happened. I have always loved that poem about Nazi Germany. I think that message is timeless. I am glad you approve of that part of the chapter. Joan and Claire, they should be sharing a jail cell - that could be a whole new story.

Where to start Brian and Justin protecting the other and thus not sleeping well with John and Peter recognizing it they really are learning their Uncles to the point where they are both going to be very amused if they just sit back and watch their drama unfold. You kind of glossed over the Greg and Brian stuff I would have loved to read about the meeting maybe Greg can tell his wife about it next chapter so we can see a little more detail, Nora is a dummy who I doubt will learn even with real lessons shoved in her face. And my favorite part of the whole chapter Jennifer at court. I think she went for Peter because of how he came to her to see Claire and she felt a need within her to protect him the fact that it helps Justin and Brian was just a bonus. Your right I doubt your courtroom had any reality to it but I liked yours better. And now for a challenge because I need some Brian and Justin reunion sex a new chapter in less than 5 days.... Give it a shot it could happen. You are still writing my favorite story so sometimes I feel the need to push...
Author's Response: I think observing B&J is a combination science experiment and stage play for John and Peter. I agree there is much potential amusment there for the J&P. I admit to glossing over Greg's vicit to Kinnetik. I was anxious to get to the courtrrom stuff which I think was great fun. You hear about so many goofy judges out there, who knows, maybe one would permit those antics. I agree about Jennifer's motive for attending Claire's day in court. I will promise to try hard to meet your request. Having said that we are supposed to have really nice weather for several days and I was at the garden store yesterday morning so lots to plant. Gardening always pushes writing to a back burner, because after gardening all day I am too tired to write. But I will really try!

Yes, a better story.
I love all the detail you include, to me it makes it seem more real, as we never live in a vacuum.
And how nice of Jennifer to take the time to make sure Claire got her just desserts. (May be spelled wrongly.)
It's nice that B & J know each other so well.
