I stand corrected on my last author response that was season two that Justin and Brian negotiated the rules of the relationship not season one.

Believe me, Cammie... Justin isn't happy on any level.  Recall how he thought about Brian when he's in bed with Dr. Campbell.  Also how he told his mother that Brian was no one but then he goes upstairs and cries his heart out.  Doesn't sound like a happy person at all to me.

Wow! Carbon hair-raising experience there.  I too saw Gale Harold in that play and I never thought about posting my experience here.  Well here it is for you: 

OH, Carbon, dear.  I lived in New Jersey the state right next door to New York (I'm as little as twenty to thirty minutes away from New York City depending on what transportation I take into the City.)

I saw the play "Suddenly Last..." in November of 2006 w/Gale Harold.  My experience was quite differently than yours (I wish you could have been there the night I was) and if I was a little less shy of a person it could have been something much more than it was but I'm just too shy. 

My sister and I went to the last show of that evening, if I recall correctly it was a Wednesday night.  The play ended a little after 10 p.m. and Gale was the last cast memeber to leave it was about maybe close to 11 p.m. when he came out.  (There was no security people present that evening.)

He looked just like Brian Kinney for the exception of two things: he  his hair was dyed blonde for the play (which I don't think he was too comfortable with because covered it with black baseball cap).  Also he was not tanned like Brian Kinney.  He was extremely light... I don't know if it was the blonde hair or the fact that it was cold outside or what but his complexion was extremely light, but it was flawless, not a pimple or blemish the first.  He looked incredibly handsome still (although I prefer the QAF tan version myself).

There was just a handful of us waiting outside for his autograph (maybe less than 15 people total).  When he came out we surrounded him.  He was SOOOOO NICE, INCREDIBLY NICE. 

My sister gave him a pen and her program to sign.  He was signing it in a dark spot on the program and my sister said, "No don't sign it there... sign it over there it will show up better."

He said to her, "You're a demanding one."  My sister and I almost melted.  Then I gave him my program (I said nothing), he signed it for me (very nice handwriting too).

After that my sister stood around observing.  A man, an elderly man presented Gale Harold something to sign and he said, "I'm not signing that." I have no idea what the man presented to him but he refused to sign it.

Now this is the amazing part, and why I wished your friends and you had been there that night.  As I observed him with the fans I noticed he gave them his undivided attention.  Any fan that approached him for a one-on-one conversation he indulged them, and not only did he indulge them he talked to them until the fan (and I thought this was beautiful and well as almost unbelievable) ended the conversation and walked away.  He was never the one to end the conversation or be the first to walk away.. he always waited until the fan was finished with him.  

Four people spoke to him one-on-one (including my sister... she was trying to get me to talk but I was just too shy and trying to act too cool, as not to crowd the man.  I regret that now though, that I didn't take advantage of a great opportunity).

Well anyway the three other people where a black man, a very attractive blonde woman and the old man (the same man Mr. Harold refused to sign whatever he presented to him).   He treated everybody the same he talked with them, smiled and chuckled while he talked and stayed with  the fan until the fan said 'goodbye' to him. 

I couldn't get over it how he always let the fan be the one to terminate the conversation and stay with them until the fan was ready to go.  He even shook their hands if they extended it to him.  At no time did he ever say to any fan, "See you later got a go" or any crap like that; he stayed with that fan until the fan said "goodbye" to him and then the fan was the first to walked away. I can't stress how taken I was with that. Most celebrities are exactly the opposite.

After everyone had left it was just my sister and I remaining observing him from a short distance.   Gale Harold started walking up the street and my sister caught up with him, and we walked along side him while she carried on a conversation with him. Well, at least she walked along side him I kept falling back (I was trying so hard not to invade the man's privacy... BIG MISTAKE!)

Well, anyway I heard my sister say to him, "You were really good in the play."

He said, "Thank you."

Then she asked, "Gale, what are you going to do next?"

He said, "I don't know."

Then he went inside a bar on that same block.  My sister wanted to follow him inside but I said, "No, don't follow him inside...give him his privacy." (ANOTHER BIG FUCKING MISTAKE!!!). 

Another reason I wasn't rushing Mr. Harold is that I don't think he was too happy that night... his performance in the play was 'off' that night.  He was terribly nervous on stage that evening for some reason and it showed immensely.  However, he seemed very relaxed with this fans. That's another reason I thought he was such a great person because regardless of his performance in the play he was NICE, NICE, NICE to his fans.  He did not take that out of them.  Regardless of how he was feeling that evening he still gave his fans his undivided attention and was so down to earth and kind.

That's pretty much the entire story, my sister and I kept walking until we came to our PATH train (that's a train that connects between NY and NJ).  We got on it and went home.  When I got home that night I checked on the NET for the reviews for the play and found the critics review of Gale Harold's performance in the play read like this, "Gale Harold was not up to the part... and that's putting it lightly".  So I guessed he was feeling a little down and probably couldn't wait until the season was over with a harsh review like that. 

Hi, Carbon I read your story again... Shit you had a much better experience than I did... I HATE U... W/ Jealousy a million times over and tell your friend to send me some of a DNA thru the mail LOL.  (I'm sooooo jealousssss LOL>)  I LOVE YOUR STORY.... BUT I'M SOOOOO , SOOO JEALOUS.

There's a QAF Union posted at Youtube.com.... I hate to say it but it's as boring as crap... and neither Randy or Gale is there. 

It some host that is not a cast member, and then there's most of the main cast there for the exception of Gale and Randy, the producers are there and they sit at a table, dining and talking the entire time about how they felt about the show and updating each other on what they are doing now.  Terribly boring.

That's the reason I like these discussions so much... it's amazing how differently people see things, the different takes on the same subject.  I mean I still feel the same about Mikey and you feel the same about him as you do (and that's perfectly all right.... that we see the same thing but in a different light... it's what makes life so interesting.... that we aren't all the same or (even) see things the same.  Wonderful!

I guess when it comes right to it what made QAF so great is that the relationships as well as events were complex.... that so many people could see things so differently.... IT DEFINITELY WAS NOTHING BORING ABOUT THAT SHOW.  Thanks again.

I'm so glad 2 finally C here that more and more writers/authors are starting to take risk here... it first seemed when I came to site... authors were horrified to wander from the norm of all the stories be Bri/Jus... and with happy endings, and I recall how hard the readers came down on you if you dared paired either Bri or Jus with someone else and don't you dare give them an unhappy ending, unless it was a sad,sad,sad, tear-jerking death of one of our beloved boys.

I recall the flap I got from readers when I first did.  However, although I don't have it posted here any more 'Penetrate' (Ben/Brian story) did turn out to be my most read story to date, although it got plenty of flap before readers jumped on the band wagon.

I had problems with my computer and eraed all my stories from the site. "Penetrate" had over 26000 reads and the story was less than 1 month old.  I haven't seen numbers like that since for one of my stories.

Again it good to see so many authors take the risk... and it seems more and more readers are starting to come around be being more acceptable.  I think it's an improvement... it gives us some many more choices and caters to the different variety of taste.

I Think it's a brave and excellent move in the right direction... and I commend all the author's who are getting aboard and expressing themselves to the fullest regardless of what others think... SO TO SPEAK THE AUTHOR SAYING:  NO APOLOGIES/NO REGRETS... Oh, My Gawd!  Where ever have we heard that before!!!

I haven't read the story yet but I'd put it in my favorites to make sure I do... However, I really really like that banner of Brian and Lindsay on the bed together HOTTTTT! 

Since I haven't read the story yet I can't rate it but I'd give U 5 stars anyway just for that banner!

This story is so imaginative... you're an extremely talented adnoutstanding writer.  I've read quite a bit of your stuff and the way you write your stories is beyond welldone.

Gina-M, I was so excited 2 C U, I comment B4 reading yur comment.  I jus read what U wrote:

Forget Brian and go 4 George... U got me laffing out my stitches... AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE STITCHES.

Hey! I say if you are a good enuff writer... write your story.  People are saying this isn't forgivable, that isn't forgivable.  But I say it depends on the individual what they can and can not forgive.  I mean at this point no one know what direction U plan to take this in anyway but if goiing the forgiveness route, if you do a good enuff job mayB U can convince a few people.

However, I agree with everyone else in the sense that it's a hard task to take on but not an impossible one.  It's all in how the writer does it. 

Take Westside Story, Marie forgave Tony for killing her brother (although it's was an accident some people wouldn't be able to see beyond it regardless.  Anita sure couldn't... she wasn't happy until Tony was dead as well.) 

So, I say give it a shot... do a good job and you just might leave so critiques eating their words.  And if not, remember it's all in FUN!  Nobody here needs to Steinbeck or Anne Rice for that matter (did I spell either of those authors names right?)

I guess it's due to the genius writers of QAF that we have any compassion for Justin and Brian's relationship at all.  Justin's forgiven Brian for a lot of crap (by simply saying that he never promised him anything) that I could have never forgiven my lover for, could you... I'm speaking real life now?  Could you forgive your lover, for the sex, drugs, alcohol, etc.

Brian, having sex with other people right before Justin's very eyes, throwing him out of the house, getting him a hustler for his birthday, and I guess I can go on and on but still we all forgave Brian as well. WHY?  Because the writing of the show was just that good. 

In real life would you have forgiven Brian and would you have any respect for anyone who you know personally that would have put up with all that Justin did from Brian? 

Be honest:  NO!

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!  You brought him home!  And so poetically.

I love what U wrote here!  And I can oh so relate.  When I first watched it, I couldn't belive how much I liked the show!  I knew about it months before I actaully sat down and watched it.  Glancing at the advertisement I got the wrong impression about it.  I thought it might be some tasteless mind crap that was about frivilous sex and no substance. 

However, one Sunday night I was just totally bored, and turned on the TV hoping to find something different.  Queer... was on.  "Let me just check this out!" I said to myself, "I'm sure this is just going to be a piece of crap but since I don't expect much anyway I won't be disappointed."  No doubt, my expectation were very low.  Lawd, was I in for a surprise!  I don't think there will ever be again a show that had the effect on me that this series has.   And if someone told me that years after the show was cancelled I'd still be loving these characters... I would have told them:  Hog-watch, NO WAY!

Get this though, the first episode I seen was the episode when Justin first met and slept with Ethan.  At that time, I didn't know much about his relationship with Brian.  I only knew it was evident he was living with Brian and sneaking off to be with Ethan.  Not knowing about his relationship with Brian - at the time - I actually thought Ethan and Justin were HOTTER together than Brian and Justin.  

And then the season ended, and then SHOWTIME re-aired the entire first season again!  And damn, I was so wrong!  I then got the whole shebang on the Brian and Justin relationship.... and then started screaming...  GET LOST, ETHAN!  GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE!  YOU CAN'T COMPETE WITH BRIAN! 

Hmm... not a boring moment and keeping me immensely interested... really looking forward to next chapter.

It's not like you are paying to read here (you definitely haven't given me one red cent).

Listen… are you listening? If you are an uncompromising person and get terribly upset when you find someone writing something that deviates from the traditional, predictable, classic and usual standard storytelling format that you are used to and that they teach you to write in English class then you might do well to stay away from my stories (in general). I do write a few using the standard storytelling format, but overall my stories are sort of OUT THERE!

I’m not the traditional writer. I like to have FUN and MIX it up a little… I write here for people who want to read something that’s a little different from the average story told here. I read B/J fan fiction for years before I actually wrote one of my own; and the main reason I started writing my own stories were because after a while everything I read started to sound too similar to a story I previously read, and then at some point almost every story started to sound almost exactly the same… even my own.

So, now I try to write something different every time…. BUT MOST OF ALL I JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! And, for anyone who has issues with that… that is just too bad. I’m going to be myself and write my story my way regardless… I learned a long time ago, I can’t please everyone in the World… so it's best I please myself (at least I know I'm being honest with myself), and everyone that’s happy along with me… I learned to cherish that few…. And since there’s something out there for all TASTES the rest of people will find there thrill somewhere else (that’s just simply a fact of life).

So, therefore I go where my imagination takes me… and for that, I have no regrets or make any apologies (sound familiar to you?)…

Hope there aren't any bad feelings... LIFE IS TOO SHORT... and this is too petty of an issue... BE happy!

Hi, first of all I want to say I'm enjoying your story LOTS!

I see in your story though (as well as a lot of other stories here) that the 'no repeat' rule is a rule established by Brian. But in the original QAF wasn't that 'no repeat' rule established by Justin (in season two) and he was the one who asked Brian to adhere to it?

I mean it's perfectly alright that writers alter that to fit conveniently into their stories. I just want to know whether or not I'm mistaken. Mainly because I've written stories where I have Brian do repeats (before he meets Justin) and people have left me reviews saying that Brian doesn't do repeats, and I tell them he did do repeats prior to meeting Justin. For instance, he definitely did Kip Thomas twice (one in his office and second inside his loft), which was prior to Justin making the rule. I'm not mistaken am I about how the no repeat rule came about... am I?

Wow! This is a really good start... I like it. Hot... about that bathroom scene being their first time... even though you left it all to the imagination... it stilll was HOT, HOT, HOT!

This is Outstanding.  I had to read it more than once because it was so EXPLOSIVE, and a very DARING risk for an author at this site to take.  I'm not sure if a lot of readers at this site can handle this.  For that, I take my HAT off to you.  I say the more daring an author is, the more they gain my respect.  Provided it is done with all the class you display here.

Like Bigpaw said, it's very beautifully written and it does get to the core of one's heart.  Mine's was beating real fast the entire time.  Felt like I was having a heart attack.

You have certainly put a lot of effort into designing you alternate world. Most mpregs just drop a pregnant Justin into the middle of the regular Queer as Folk world with the only difference being that Justin can have children.
