Date: January 28, 2010 Title: Chapter 48: Knowing You Tiffany, Author's Response: Cindy, Anyway, I'm just so touched that you like the story so much! I was so worried when I made the D/s part "out in the open" and I am so relieved whenever someone says that the way it was built up works for them. That was in my mind from very early on in the story and I did want to treat it as a chance to look at the feelings involved very seriously. I'm so grateful that I succeeded in that. Those chapters hold a very special place in the story to me. *smiles sheepishly* Um... Well...the story is not over, but it will not be a whole lot longer. Most of the issues raised are now resolved in some way, or will be soon, and I don't want the story to drag on without legitimate reason. (There are already a couple chapters I feel I could do without!). I do appreciate your dedication, though... Date: February 08, 2010 Title: Chapter 55: In My Submission This chapter was so beautiful and so touching! I loved the way you showed that side of a Dom/sub relationship that shows how much resposibilty the dominant person has to take care of the one in submission. Too often Doms are porttrayed as power hungry bosses who get off on ordering their sub around; but the way Justin cherishes Brian's submission to him is really a lovely thing to see! Thank you so much!! I am really pleased to hear that the D/s dynamic flowed that way. I wanted to show Justin's commitment and also what he got out of their interactions... Also I wanted to show how Sunshine was going to enforce what Brian / Beautiful wanted (i.e. to stop substance use altogether) and help him find a healthy substitute. I hate to see it end, too, but I really don't want to drag the story out for its own sake. I really hope you'll like the upcoming story too!!

Date: February 16, 2010 Title: Chapter 56: Everywhere I thought the balance was just right. I'm so glad you didn't make anyone (like Michael) into a cliche' asshole and say stupid shit to Brian that real people would never say to each other. What Mel said was appropriately teasing and she didn't take it over the top. I'm glad that the characterizations worked -- I figured they could all afford to be more mature, like 15 months post 513. Plus, I think they sort of knew Brian was going through a lot lately, so even Mel was relatively gentle with him. Right now, yeah, it's far too private. I don't know if it's ever something they will share, in the greater arc of this story... Maybe... I'll have to think about it... Date: November 29, 2009 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Brian just HAD to do, didn't he? He just had to throw Justin off of that goddamned fucking cliff once again! I have a feeling that Justin knows he's full of shit but he left the room because he knew that's what Brian wanted and needed. And, anyone who says Justin doesn't love him enough? HA! HA HA! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Everytime, and I mean, EVERYTIME, Justin left it was via "the cliff." Brian pushed him off "for his own good." We've always known that Brian's fatal flaw isn't that he can't love anyone; it's that he can't let anyone love him. Justin's love for him scares the shit out of him ... for the very reason that he DOES love him enough; he loves him more than enough. This time he loved him enough to step off the cliff knowing he was being pushed. This chapter was truly and utterly genius!! I loved every word! Cindy

Date: February 08, 2010 Title: Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Oh my god, I'm sitting here at 1 in the morning and reading about Justin running to the roof and as I continue reading I feel my lip start quivering and then I notice tear are running down my face and all of a sudden I'm a sobbing mess picturing that scene where they are both so in love with each other yet saying goodbye and I don't know who is hurting worse; Brian for having to leave or Justin for being left. Brian's dream just shows how much he needs Justin there; and then Chris was trying to comfort him, that was kinda sweet until Matt had to barge in with his jealous self; well, that was funny, actually! Loved the scene with Mikey! I'm so glad they worked it out before Brian left! I'm expecting Justin to show up unannounced in North Carolina, at some point, you know! Date: January 08, 2011 Title: Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Another chapter under our belt and onward we go! I'm so afraid of whatever it is that Brian's going to see Turnage about; and now this about sweet old Simon? I think Chris is right about him to be suspicious; that information was just a little too much to be coincidence! I think Simon must have said something to someone and that's how they found out where Brian was! Speaking of Chris ... I understand completely why he and Justin are always at odds. They both love Brian and feel threatened by the other. Brian doesn't love Chris but that's not necessarily a good thing for Justin because Brian wouldn't hesitate to leave Justin and Gus to keep them safe; but for Brian to be safe, he needs Chris. Tall, dirty blond hair, shirt with a logo, trucker style hat, Cynthia should have recognized him before, Chris knows him ... UGH! This is driving me crazy!! The image of Brian with blown pupils and the thought of him losing his sight is breaking my heart! Especially after the description of what beauty means to him and how devastating it would be to never see Justin's face again! I'm liking this weird sort of kinship between Chris and Justin; I have mixed feelings about it, but that's a good thing in a fic, I think! :-) I hope the next chapter is in the works because I don't know how much longer I can hold out not knowing who this person is that Chris and Cynthia are afraid of! Date: June 27, 2011 Title: Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Oh my! Where to begin? At the beginning! Jackson? Jackson was the mole? You could've knocked me over with a feather! I had no idea something was wrong until he went in the kitchen and looked at the item in the tote bag! At first I thought everything up until then was going to be an attempt to seduce him, then when he looked at the item in the tote bag, I got a bad feeling; I thought maybe he was going to rape him but when he just coldly killed him (he thought) I was absolutely stunned! That was delightful!! (your writing, I mean, not killing Brian! LOL) And, OMG! How on earth did you make it so exhilarating to read about the race to save Brian's life? I already know it's not a death fic so I knew that ultimately he wouldn't die from what Jackson did; but if you aren't the master at getting a reader's adrenaline pumping, then I don't know who is! The alternating Brian's thoughts/Justin's speech parts were sheer and utter brilliance! I could feel the progression of Brian coming up out of his subconcious mind to the surface. I LOVED that the first thing he said to Justin was to shut the fuck up! Classic Brian! Genius YOU! I am so glad you let him wake up in this chapter! I can imagine that it was tempting for you to leave it for next time but you were probably afraid we'd find you and burn your house down! LOL Also, who can resist protective!Justin! He was hot when he had the big bad FBI agent in a choke-hold up against the wall! :-D All in all, a very satisfying chapter! Date: October 07, 2011 Title: Chapter 52: Chapter 52 How in the world do you make over 15,000 words go by so FAST? It feels like I just started reading it and then I'm at the end, thinking "wait, what? already?" This was another great chapter! The sex in the beginning was indeed a treat! As well as in the end! I almost (almost!) felt sorry for McFed when Justin told him to leave in the end and laughed when he said it didn't really matter, he'd do it anyway! Ah, Melanie! Still a vindictive witch! I hope she does try to take JR out of the country and realizes that she can't. She think she can manipulate anyone; it's high time she came up against some powers that she can't get around! And poor Ted, he's going to lose Blake if he stays obessed with Brian. I hope he doesn't; Blake is the best thing for him, not a displaced loyalty to Brian. Don't apologize for the time in between chapters! We know your health is not great so taking care of yourself is more important! A chapter every couple of months is fine with me. Take care of YOU! Even KNOWING Brian would make it out alive because this is obviously not a death fic, I feared for his life until the very end! How did you do that? Another amazing feat you have accomplished (from my pov anyway) is when Justin accepted Chris into that elite circle, I found myself hoping for the ridiculous fairy tale ending of the three of them polyamorously living happily ever after! :-D

I was really hoping for a happy ending after all of the pain they went through. This story is an excellent piece of work and your writing is beyond talented; but I have to say that the ending of this chapter left me feeling the same way I felt at the end of episode 513. I know you had your reasons, and that everything doesn't end in happily ever after but still, I wish this one did.

Date: April 15, 2011 Title: Chapter 26: Chapter 25 Poor Justin, I know he hates it but if it's a place that will actually help him then it's for the best. Date: November 17, 2010 Title: Chapter 1: Decompose Hi! I just ran across this story and I really like it! I've only read chap. 1 so far and am about to read chap. 2 and 3 but I wanted to tell you that I love your writing style! You keep the suspense and the anticipation up while making the reader stay interested and wanting to keep reading. I'll admit, I was skeptical to begin reading this story because I usually stay with the authors I'm familiar with and tend to shy away from the younger ones. Not that your age has anything to do with it really, it's just that younger writers tend to have more spelling and grammar mistakes and don't have as easy of a flow as more experienced writers and it distracts from the story. I won't even attempt to read a story that has a typo or grammar mistake in the summary; that always a bad sign. :-D But, I liked the premise of this story so I thought I'd try it and I was pleasantly surprised. That was quite the roller-coaster ride for the last few chapters. I can see why this was a special story for you. It will be one that I'll want to read again sometime down the road! Oh! There are a lot of great angsty stories, but I just can't write it, even if I did, it would probably be only a chapter or two before I had to turn it happy. This started out as a simple idea in mind, inspired by Butterfly by Jason Mraz, and became so much more than I expected, but I will definitely continue soon. This story started off as a ‘what if’ ... what if Brian hadn’t met Justin until sometime in Season Three? Which things would be different and which would be the same ... or brought about in a different way? How would Brian be different? Would he be better, or would he be worse? Would he still react to Justin in the same way if they were both a couple of years older?
Anyway, that was how it started; but then I had to supply a background for Justin that was canon to begin with, but ended up being quite different ... and then the whole thing turned into a kind of thriller. Well, I hope it did.
So I guess this is part what-if, part AU, part thriller ... but most of all, of course, a love story.

Maybe a disclaimer in the Author's Notes at the beginning of the chapter to let your readers know that a chapter has Justin topping would help. In my opinion, bottoming certainly doesn't turn a gay man into a pussy (I surely don't think of Justin that way.) To me, it shows that Brian had the strength to let go off his ego for a night to gain Justin's trust back; a trust that was more important than a sexual position.
