Detective Brian Kinney was about to quit the force at the Pittsburgh PD when he heard he was getting a new rookie for a partner until he met the young son of the Chief; Taylor made just for him.  For years Brian didn't look at another man until he saw new junior detective Justin Taylor; a hot young virgin rookie given to Brian by Chief Craig Taylor; trusting his beautiful very young son with his best gay detective. Together they are a very powerful undercover unit, and one soul united.

My very best to Daphne Angel for the outstanding banner with two beautiful sons. You go girl!  I answer all review comments because I love you.

I've missed this story!  Great update!  Love the family and the interactions between Daddy B and Daddy J.  Charles is a sneaky devil, not sure his plan is going to work after that little hot interlude Craig and Tim just had.  (Tim is the bottom I gather?)  Loved this chapter!

Author's Response:

I have been neck deep in learning new software to improve MW. I did decide not to stop writing and hope to update better in the near future. I love this story and don't want to end it. I have a shocking change brewing in my hamster's brain as we speak :)

I forgot to say Tim will bottom, and Craig will not!

Ok, things are really heating up!  Love that Brian is opening up.  Soon he's going to realize though he loves Michael, it's not 'romantic' love.  And he's going to realize his feelings for Justin are real.

Great chapter!

Author's Response:

I think Brian is opening up more than he ever has, but he is also still very willing to quickly shut down again! We all know it ia not romantic love he feels for Mikey  - but maybe he has never been 'taught' the difference. Thanks for the great fb! Off to update before I tacke the dreaded HW! :)

You're brought this to its' logical conculsion.  He had to catch Mikey, and of course he would be hurt!  Just because he wasn't in love with Mikey, he did love him.  And that love was betrayed.  And I'm glad you put at the end that he was 'fighting' the urge to breakdown and cried, but didn't show him actually doing it. Like I said, he loves Mikey, but he's not in love with Mikey.  Time to find his true love!  JUSTIN! lol  Great story

Author's Response:

Thanks Gina, I ahve to catch up with yours again! I agree, I have tried to go with what was logical given these sets of circumstances, even when I didn't particularly like the way it was going! LOL! I think Justin and Brian need each other too! Thank you so much for your support, this is a difficult fic to write (even the second time!) Off to update! :)

Jesus Brian is totally bonkers!  That kind of delusion is very serious.  This is NOT going to be an easy fix, if it's fixed at all.  I have to read back, I don't remember, but is Brian on any kind of medication?  He really needs to be if he's this delusional.  My heart goes out to him.

Author's Response:

You're right -- it's not going to be easy at all. A long course of treatment, especially in RL. I'll shorten it for the story (no need to go for years of therapy when I managed over 15 chapters on one DAY for heaven's sakes, LOL!).

He's not on meds yet, but they'll be getting to that in due time.

Thanks so much for your support and involvement in the story. It's so nice to know that people have some sort of emotional investment with the characters.  I'm sorry my replies are taking forever!!

What if Brian realized what he was missing before the bomb? What if he changed just one thing, and that changed everything? The butterfly effect gone mad.

Canon thru 509(ish), right down to some of the scenes/dialogue directly from the show. Some just happen in a slightly different time line. A/U after that.

Warning: Major Character Death ~If you are wary of the death!fic warning, please, take a chance and have a look. Yes, it's a sad story, and the death is real (and devastating) but I promise you it is all about the B/J love.

very interesting premise.  Justin T has a twin! (non related twin)  though it's odd sthat everyone easily believes he's Justin K since I'm assuming Justin K was older, (you imply that he and Brian were together for some time, enough time anyway for JK to get hooked on drugs, move in with Brian, then steal from him)  and JT is a highschool kid that always looked younger than his 17 years. How old was JK?  (don't mind me, I have OCD and obesses about the littlest things)   I'm totally hooked on this story!

Author's Response:

Hi, there, Gina, good 2 hear from U; always a pleasure.  You'll know more as I post future chapters, but let me take a crack at satisfactorily answering your questions anyway:

JK is roughly about 23, and he's pretty much one of those people that looks very young for his age, often referred to as 'babyface Nelsons' (in my neck of the woods, anyway).  Mickey Rooney, Michael J. Fox, River Phoenix and Johnny Depp are good examples (as least they seem ageless to me).  This may mean little to you but I was as old as thirty when people stopped asking me for identification when I went inside adult establishments like bars, and casinos, and when I showed them my identification they looked at me strangely (or enviously), shaking their heads.

I suppose you can check this out for yourself, but if I got my facts straight, the real life Randy Harrison was as old as 25 years-old when he first took on the role of 17-year-old Justin.  And five years later, when he was roughly 30, with the right haircut he could still pass for a teenager (I don't know how many others share that opinion, but that's how it seems to me).

And how quickly, a person becomes hooked on drugs, and how soon they start to physically deteriorate depends on a lot of factors.  The type of drug they use, the frequency, as well as metabolism.  Some drugs are extremely more potent, and addictive than others, such a coke-cocaine. and heroine.  I know a few people who got hooked on those, and it didn't take long destroy the.  And I mean destroy literally (bless their souls) for some of them are dead now.

One might assume thought, that those are not a drug that Brian would be associated with.  However,  for the sake of the storyline you can assume Brian introduced JK to his mild mix, and maybe in search of a better or different kind of high he moved onto something else, that was a lot more as well as destructive.

(laughter): And in all Fun, I'm not as OCD as you, so I'm liable to make up a drug if it's make my storyline flow better (laugh some more). However, I think there's enough real drugs out there that would do the trick just fine; recall Ted's bout with Crystal?

Last note:  Thx some much 4 asking those questions, giving me the opportunity to address them.  If you asked them; I sure others were wondering as well.

Thanks again.  And Hav Fun!

First of all to CSF, LOVE what you wrote!  "...the words dissappear and become visual..."  Love that description of someones writing.

Second, to MeandBJ... you know that old saying? Those who can, do...those who cannot...critique.  this SEA person, though I wouldn't call a troll, most certainly is a bitter, sad person.   If she/he didn't like your story, they should have simply moved on.  But they didn't, they had to stop and tell you how much they didn't like your story and why.  And do you know why they did that? Because it makes he/she feel 'superior' to have made you feel bad.  Unfortunatley hon, that's what it takes to make some ppl feel relevant.  But they are only relevant to you, if you let them be.

As a fellow writer, I know what it takes to put all those thoughts in your head down on paper. To share your vision then to worry about the grammer, spelling, typo's...ai yi  yi yi yi!  lol  And ofcourse some smart ass is always going to point out your flaws.  "sigh"  but you know why we write, don't you? We have this story in us that just has to come out. We feel good sharing what excites us and if it excites others, GREAT! If it doesn't, well that's life. Can't please em all.

So you jsut keep on writing!  Don't let anyone EVER make you feel bad about wanting to share a story.   You have a wonderful imagination and heart, they have nothing but bitterness and cruel words.

Now, I expect the next chapter soon!  *hugs*

ok, I hate Michael, but wtf is wrong with Justin!  That's the second time Michael attacked him! And he it his head? Justin should have punched him out. And I'm really shocked at Brian.  That he let Michael push Justin down to the floor at babylon! And did noting?  he was there when Justin got bashed! wtf???  He could have hurt his head again, but apparently Brian didn't care.  Sorry, but I'm not liking Brian or Michael.   Ted and Emmett I love!   At this point, I can't see Justin forgiving Brian for at least not stepping in to stop Michael from hurting him, or at the very least help him up, ask him if he was ok, then tell him to leave.  But he didn't do any of those things. He  stood there watching as Justin hit the floor.   Pathetic piece of shit...the both of them B and M.

ok, end of rant!  lol  Sorry, I DO love this story.  It's a compliment that you got me having such strong emotions about the characters!  It takes a lot for me to hate Brian, and I really do right now.  lol.  I'm sure I'll come around.  Great chapter.

Author's Response:

Aha, you noticed.  There is something wrong with Michael, Justin and Brian <evil laugh>  It's five years since Justin left, nine years since the bashing and we don't know yet how Brian feels.  Don't worry you'll see what motivates Brian in future chapters, but if I told you that would spoil it. <grin>

Wow, wtf happened to Brian?  He let Mikey move into Britin?  I can't believe how weak and pathetic he is.   Since when does Brian listen to anyone? Now he's letting Mikey lead him around like a dog on a leash.   As the 'old' Brian would say, "Have some Balls!"   I think Brian lost his.

Why are you cutting this story short?  I know you've received some harsh comments, but that's what good writing does, provoke emotions.  I saw though some comments were personal, and for that I'm very sorry. Comments should NEVER get personal. NO one should tell you how you feel about the characters.  They can hate the characters, (as I do, I totally despise Brian in this story) but not you.  And I'm suppose to hate Brian!  you are writing him that way, and then I assume you'll have me come around. Or not. Maybe you'll keep Brian an asshole, and with Michael, it's YOUR choice. I'll read.  And maybe I wont' like the ending, but I appreciate the story!  You keep writing! No matter what anyone says .  YOu know what the say, bad reveiws are better than no reviews. When I first started writing I didnt' get any reviews!  Then when I started getting some reviews, some were VERY nasty.  But there were one or two who stuck with me, and kept encouraging me.  YOu have more than a few of us who want you to continue writing. Please do. Don't cut the story short to please your critics.  And please don't stop writing.

Author's Response:

Technically I'm not cutting the story short, just combining chapters.    Hopefully Brian makes up for his bad behavior in this last chapter.  In the meantime I love your stories as I've said and eagerly await another chapter in Broken Open.  Please????

I think this is your best writing ever.  Both the mechanics and the substance are outstanding.  The topic, is what I like to call, gut grabbing.   They say a writers best work comes when they write what they know. You are obviously very versed on this topic, and from what I can see, understand the emotional processes people with this disease go through.

I'm thinking Brian gave it to Justin, since he (in the show at least) was the more promiscuious one.   Though he always used a condoms, sometimes, accidents happen,...accidents that might go unnoticed if you're fucked up on drugs and alcohol.

At this point, I don't know who I feel worse for, Justin or Brian. The fear, sorrow, and mostly, guilt, will be consuming them both.

I look forward to see where you take us.  Great job.

Author's Response: Hi Gina. Justin left at the start of winter for New York if you remember the new falling snow outside the loft window the last time they made love. The medical report stated that Justin had an undetectable viral load and a very high normal T cell count. This is expected with a recent infection as stated; under 90 days. That was many months later since Brian and Justin last made love so no way did Brian give it to Justin. The irony is they both found out they were positive within 24 hours of each other. I was planning to explain more later not to overload the reader with too many facts at once.

Each person's journey with HIV is different. I can say without a doubt it only looks very bad in the beginning due to myths, fears, and ignorance of the viruses' true nature. Cowlip told more myths than truths. We will explore the journey of our boys each taking a different path with HIV: one is bravely coping at first, and the other is self-destructive. Some refuse to take the meds that can save their lives because they don't want to live. I don't want to give away too much in a review answer but I promise a knowledgeable novel without artistic license or making the situation worse than it is, and to hopefully expose the raw emotions HIV causes not only to the infected, but also to those not infected and people who love those who are dealing with it. Thank you for your comment, and I will do my best to give this subject the talent and skill it deserves. The chance to help people, and save others from harm deserves no less, and who better to share the Word on HIV than the finest gay lovers ever to exist?

There's a saying in the HIV community: "Spread the word and not the disease." That's the only answer to stop the growth of HIV.

Very informative chapter. I learned a lot.  Justin seems to be handling it very well...though to be fair, it appears to me at least, getting a diagnois of HIV and AIDS are two different things.  Justin has HIV, Brian has AIDS.   Though knowing Brian, wheter it was HIV or AIDs, he'd pretty much respond the same way.

I hope someone steps in and helps him before its too late!

Author's Response:

To be true to canon, Justin is the type to inform himself with knowledge and the facts while Brian always seems to be self-destructive since he attempted to end his life in the show at least once I remember. The difference in HIV and AIDS is mainly one with AIDS has a very high viral load, a low T cell count and is at high risk of new infections and cancers attacking the body. Trust me, Brian will soon wish he had started treatments once the pain of AIDS kicks in.

omg Brian is sick!  He's going to have a very hard time of this, but I'm so glad Justin is there.  Brian could use all the support he can get.  I do hope they eventually tell the family.

Again, another very informative chapter.  Thank you for posting it, you're doing an excellent job with it.

Author's Response:

You didn't review chapter 3. I would cyber-spank you but I know you don't feel well from your LJ page where I go and steal your best icons and videos. I'm not snooping I promise! I wish I could suggest a bed; franky I could sleep on nails after taking my happy pill :)

Brian will make it but there are some health hurtles to pass, and he's deadly afraid of the gang and all of Pittsburgh learning the legend has fallen to the gay waste pile. Love you so much for commenting sweet one. *Hugs*

Love the humor in this chapter. Michael is going to be trouble...are we surprised?   Brian seems to be coming around, and I agree with their decision not to tell anyone. If they are exclusive, then it's no ones business.

I see a maturity in your writing in this story.  It's not just your subject matter, which is compelling, its also the actual mechanics of your writing.   It's more 'polished'.   Your diaolog is witty, your description of medical conditions, and emotional conditions is clear and precise.  I'm really enjoying this story!  Though I love your other stories, this one is special.  The others were fun, and fantastical, this one is more realistic and emotional.   For me, your finest work so far to date.

Thank you again for sharing it.  Oh, and thanks for the vid! I LOVED it.

Author's Response:

To recieve such a review from a master gifted author like yourself is just amazing to me. I too feel much better about how this one is going. I have so many things for them to experience I'm having trouble deciding the order the crap happens :) If anyone else wants to see the video you mentioned I got Tech Support to add it to the bottom of the home page for a while.

Gotta love Brian...

"I can afford to buy him the shots he needs at the puppy vet. If he can dust, run a vacuum, wash windows, clean a pool, mow the grass, be our sex slave and learn how to cook he's a keeper."

Looks like the boys are going to have fun with their new toy....that is IF the fucking meddling Novotny's don't fuck everything up for them!  Ben is right, Brian has a lot to lose, aside from the family politics of it, his business could suffer.  Michael should be put down. I hope Ben leaves him, and Brian never speaks to him again.

Thanks for the quick updates! I envy you...lol.  My muse is being a stubborn bitch these days.

Author's Response:

There's nothing like a new puppy to make a sick child happy again :)

Michael has no idea the plans karma will soon deliver to his life. Zen Ben knows to get out of the way--QUICK!

I could swear the hamster was on the hard shit again but the home drug test came back clean and sober. He's just smoking hot at this time, and knows the whole story in advance for once.

Love you sexy girl! I hope your son gets well soon too.

Oh that's so harsh even for Michael!  And I can't stand him!  Can he get HIV from swallowing the boy?  Is that Brian's intention?  I hope not.

Love Ben...hes a doll.  Another great update.

Author's Response:

If a 36 year old gay man doesn't know and follow the code, that's on him.  Once he lost the protection of Ben, and Brian's friendship he was doomed.

How many times was Michael warned of his situation of great danger? Did he not pay himself for his hot glowing trick that was clearly too hot to be real?

Here are just some of the code again telling Michael what was the score. Besides when gay men talk code, it's very serious and he should have seen that too.

damn you got a really big mouth. Can I fill it up for you?"  (initial warning of revenge)

You have to swallow our secrets Michael. (their secret is HIV-he doesn't have to accept the suggestion)

"Do I have your permission to make sure you kept it in your mouth and swallow first?" (Michael accepts the command to swallow hot seed)

"Don't blame me when it hits you Michael." (bartender warns him too)

"You have to down it all at once Michael." (pay back is all at once and fast)

the hottest thing in the bar tonight; a real smoking twink if I say so myself.

Reactor;  (what call boy would be named reactor as in nuclear reactor…duh!)

"Reactor's a professional call boy for the very wealthy Michael. He's offering you his AM or FM love tonight." Brian told him.  (AM or FM….as in radio….active)

"Will you forgive me Brian? I'm really sorry man."

"Yes you really are Michael; own your life you're forgiven by me. Here's 6 hundred, a deserved gift so you can have a deserved meal tonight. Feel that boy's hot torpedo Michael." (deserved meal of poison, torpedo is a weapon)

"Take Michael and his glowing hot sperm date to the office and stay with them. Make sure he gets his money's worth, all of it." Next Brian whispered into Michael's ear. "For your just magical reward, eat all of him. You'll be blessed as you deserve by the rarest glowing hot boy sweetness on earth." (glowing hot sperm date..as in radioactive glowing hot)

"Have you had him Brian?"

"I'll get seconds; you first just so you know I don't harbor any feelings for you at all."

"Torpedo loading; safe...lead off, maximum yield set free" (the weapon is in his mouth, no one is protecting Michael now, he will be abandon by his protectors to be free sex in public)

"Stand by Officer of the Watch" Ryan whispered to the guard. "Novanty; your Navy career ends now. Torpedo Away!" (dishonorable discharge from the Gay Navy of the upper class)

Did you swallow their secrets forever?" The guard asked him. (Did you swallow their HIV?)

"Remember this day and how you paid me for it." Then Ryan quickly left the room and went down stairs to join Brian and Justin, and to leave the bar.

Michael was told over and over he was being set up, the boy was positive, and he still chose to accept the bead and his punishment. Only a total fool would not see this coming, and someone with no remorse who should expect to be punished for his actions.

Both Brian and Ben gave him the money and thus financed his punishment but it was Michael's decision to follow his lust and get punished.

What Michael did to Brian could have cost him his life but this was a lesser sentence in comparison.

Swallowing infected seed is very high risk but not 100% certain of infection.

Swallowing a dozen more men that night in the back room raised his odds however. And when Michael returns to Babylon, he will continue to be another bottom feeder in the back room totally shamed from that day forward, and no longer an Admiral's wife or best friend to another Admiral.

By the way Ryan is totally innocent. He's too young to know the code yet, and doesn't know his positive. If there's any guilt for doing this to Michael it's shared by Brian and Ben equally who both decided on his punishment of foxtrot thermonuclear gift. (fos-cute twink, trot-date, thermonuclear-HIV+, gift-payback)

Nothing like this will happen again in the novel.

Thanks for explaining that to me. I don't know gay code, but reading back, I see where there were many clues Michael should have picked up on.  And bottom line, it was 'his' decision.  Like you said, his backroom slutting was stupid and dangerous.   And I should have expected this. lol You were never a Michael fan,  Can't say I blame you.  I wasn't critizing, really, I was questioning.   I agree Michael deserves what he gets. He's a selfish prick that could have ruined Brian's life. And he lives and an HIV guy, he should know better.

Author's Response:

The code is pretty much a guy thing; straight or gay. And yes Michael knew better but didn't behave to protect himself. Glad you're enjoying the story and commenting. I hope you're sleeping better, your son is recovering, and I get hear from you as the chapters continue. I really do appreciate all you have told me.

Author's Response:

Exclusive modeling contracts can pay that much and much more. Ryan is that beautiful and he needs to cash in on that beauty until it's gone. Since he had the connection with Brian and Kinnetik he got his big break. Not that fantastical really; it happens to people all the time.

Don't it figure. You make some money, and the family comes crawling out of the wood work. Where was his mother when he was in the streets?  Brian is too good.  I would have left them rot.  lol.  See, I got a mean streak too.  :-)

I hope Brian is ok!  I hate that he's sick.  He carries the burden of everyone, and is the sickest.  but Justin will take good care of him.

Author's Response:

Funny how money makes that happen, huh? :)  Ryan's father threw him out and his mother couldn't stop it. Brian didn't want Ryan to trash his trust fund saving his family and he needed to help Joan, so he killed two birds with one stone. Brian will recover better than ever.

Nice to see Deb taking care of Brian.   Great update.

Author's Response:

Often putting family's in need together is the solution to several problems at once. Brian saw that formula and put it into action. Debbie loves Brian very much and always has. They have a very long history together as you know. Thank you so much for reading and commenting Gina. I hope you and yours are well.

OMG!  I just caught up on these chapters and  WOW!  You do know how to create drama!  Poor Ryan!   That's the second older man to die in his arms.  With his life being bigger than life right now, his HIV status, the emotional family shit going on, I hope he doesn't snap.  Poor kid, he is after all just a kid!  I  think some time home, away from everyone (except his two men) is in order. Lots of TCL from B/J is the best medicine.

I have to say though, as I was reading the last chapter, I was wondering if Justin is a tad jealous of Ryan and Brian.  But then I realized, I'm the one whose jealous!  lol.  But seriously, having a friend who was in a poly situation, there was issues of who loves who more.  I know our boys are more confident in themselves, and their importance to one another...but still I wonder if that green eyed monster is going to rear his head anytime soon?  I'm not sure JT, you really do surprise me with these twists and turns!  I LOVE it!  lol

This story is progressing so nicely.  Lots of surprises, never mundane.   I look forward to each reading, wondering what you'l have in store for us next!

Author's Response:

Ryan's strong but this will test his inner strength no doubt. Some TLC with B and J is certainly in order next. Brian and Justin are very settled and in love and Ryan is no threat to them; in fact he compliments their love and they can easily center their affection on the young man who can love them both equally. The teasing by Brian and Justin is only that as to who gets loved more. I was wiped out and had to sleep a couple of days again but I'm back and writing the next chapter now. Love you Gina and thank you.

craigs a prick, though I have to say, as a parent, I'd be concerned about my daughter having sex at her age. Did anyone even talk to her about safe sex? Maybe Justin should.

I hope Ryan continues to model. It would be a sin to waste all that gorgeousness.

Author's Response:

Craig misunderstood his daughter; she hadn't had major sex yet. Just knew the boy was endowed so to speak and he took it wrong.

I guess this is a lesson. Don't fuck with Justin or Brian.

Nice to see Molly showing restraint with Joey.

Author's Response:

First degree arson with very major damage can earn a life sentence should the court decide the quilty deserves it in some states. Molly wants to be able to see Joey and they will both behave. Thank you for commenting Gina.

"If he's cute maybe I can use him when I don't have either one of you around to get me off." Ryan said with a boyish grin that was too adorable.

"One young hopelessly ugly straight security goon coming right up." Brian took out his phone and called his security company for Kinnetik.

LOL Loved that!  Jealous Brian is always a turn on.  Looks like Ted might be trouble.  The family is still meddleing.   I'm surprised at Ted, he should have talked to Brian about his concerns, not Ryan!  *shakes head* when will they ever learn?

Another great chapter. I hope you're feeling well, I love the quick updates, but please take care of yourself.

Author's Response:

Next chapter is posted and surprisingly it's not Ted who spills the beans. Brian knows Ryan won't trick out on their special relationship but he was having fun with the banter. Jealous? Probably but he won't admit it to save his life. Love you girl.

family gossip, gotta love it.  I hope Ryan learns a lesson from this, NEVER tell your secrets to family.  They can be the worse gossipers!  I hope Michael doesn't get any ideas about suing Ryan.  As much as I hate Mel, she had a point. If Ryan knowingly gave Michael HIV, he could be in trouble. Now I know he didn't technically know, but the boys knew.  They introduced him as reactor, (or something like that. I remember you telling me the name was  code for someone infected, and Michael should have piced up on it)  If Micheal remembers that, the shit could hit the fan. Though like Mel said, I doubt he'd have any case, much less a weak one, since he's been fucking and sucking everythign in sight.

Such a mess...  But I'm glad Ted wasn't the big gosspier. I like Ted.  And I cant' wait to see how Brian teases him about trying to 'steal' his boy. lol

Author's Response:

Ryan will surely learn from this as you mentioned. Michael isn't bright enough to smell fresh coffee much less an old brew. Mel was just being a lawyer thinking out loud. There's no real threat of suing Ryan here. I like Ted too and he's a fun character to write about. Love you for the comments Gina and for reading this.

"What does Ryan say about it?"

"He doesn't say much; he just chews and sucks anything you put in his mouth."

I laughed so hard when I read that...of course at the time I thought Brian was talking about Ryan!  lol  Nice joke on Ted.

I never knew about the tattoo, that's what I love about this story. I learn so much.  I wonder if the boys are going to 'come out' and get one.  Big brave move.

I have to admit the Michael scene was very disturbing to me.  The most infected person in the world?   I can't imagine how sick he's going to be...and possibly die.  It's very, very tragic.  As much as he's a fuck up, I do hope they help him in Atlanta.  No one deserves to die a horrible death from Aids.

Great, great update.

Author's Response:

Brian's a master of the spoken word and persuasion. Ted shoud have seen that one coming but all he had on his mind was teenage Ryan so he missed it, thus he got a new puppy!

The tattoo is the real thing in the gay world and the HIV community, straight and gay.

Michael is the most infected in the USA, not the world. There are many prostitiutes in Africa worse off than he is. I needed a superinfected person and Michael is the one. Hint: He lives.

Thanks Gina for your comments very much.

Wow, what a mind blowing chapter! Where to begin?  An amazing amount of information!  I can't believe the education I'm getting!  The different strains of HIV, the DNA aspect, the meds.   So much to absorb!

I understand now why you infected Michael so badly, so that you can explore all the different kinds, treatments and ramifications of the disease.  The difference between HIV and AIDS and even the differences with in those two classifcations.  So complicated, yet you are unraveling the mystery perfectly, and clearly.

For once I'm glad Debbie has a big mouth!  She's learning.  And I'm glad Brian went to talk to  Michael and his paying for his plane ticket to see his duaghter. Michael is just pathetic.... He not only hurts others, he hurts himself.

And I was happy to see Ryan giving Brian and Justin time alone together. I think it's important to keep balance, as you stated.

Excellent, excellent chapter!  I'd give this chapter a blue ribbon on it's own if I could!

Author's Response:

There is a lot of new information on HIV/AIDS and I hope to spoon feed it to the readers without being preachy or overwhelm them with all the data. Let the details come in as they apply to the plot. Billions have been spent and are being spent on this condition and they are getting outstanding results from the research globally.

Thanks for reading and commenting Gina. Love the new video on your LJ page too :) "Wild Horses". I posted it on my profile page at another website.

350 for underwear!  *rolls eyes*  So funny.  So Brian.

Dealing with sickness is part of the diease, always falling to one ailment or another.   I can't imagine how difficult that must be, and now I understand why it's important they stay in the best health.

Another thing I learned, though not HIV/AIDs related, is that companies have to have enough logged flying hours on their private jets in order to use it as a tax credit.  Interesting, and explains why often, especially hollywood types, don't mind lending their jets out.

Another  great chapter.

Author's Response:

It never ceases to amaze me what people will spend for a damn label on a piece of clothing. Sometimes it's quality too; I have an Armani leather jacket that has lasted me for many years I got as a gift when most jackets would be worn out by now. Not getting sick is very important for the poz crowd, and yes sometimes people can act very funny and down right rude. They don't do it to others with different medical conditions but since it is a sexually transmitted disease it has the stigma. Love you and Happy New Year beautiful.

This was a very informative, and sad chapter. I feel so bad for those people in that group.  I also feel bad for that paramedic!  I have a feeling Brian's going to make his life a living Hell!

Author's Response:

There is some rejection by dates but it really isn't that bad for the most part; however, some guys make it worse and isolate themselves for years and years and just give up while others can thrive while living with HIV. It's all a state of mind. The paramedic did a no-no when he was a teenager and Brian will make it known to his boss and peers next chapter. Should be fun to see it go down for the man.

Love EJ too!  Great vid.

Author's Response:

Thank you Gina for all your support. As a writer you know how much feedback fuels the writing muse to move forward. I believe I said what needed to be said with this story and pretty much covered all the medical stuff for guys anyway. Women who are positive can have children if their viral load is undetectable, they take special virus blocking meds for the baby, and of course birth by C-section to avoid the mother's blood.

Showtime and Cowlip didn't tell the facts about HIV and AIDS; they instead played for dramatics and told dark miss-information and thus really pissed off the HIV community in the process. Instead of sharing the truth that could lessen gay discrimination they made it worse.

Considering all the rare hopeless diseases out there (and if HIV wasn't a sexually or drug abuse transferred disease causing social stigma) it really isn't a bad disease to have if you can get the HIV meds.

I think of the children dying of rare Cancers and Adavanced Diabetes and realize how lucky one is to only deal with HIV today.

Though JT is technically right, Cannon QAF portrays 17 as being under age, not of legal consent...example, Justin threatening Kip by telling him he just 17.    So as far as the writer is concern, they are following Cannon's version of Pitts law.

Great first chapter btw.  Looking forward to more

This one will be long and will pull at the heartstrings.   There has been a terrible accident.   It will affect Brain and Justin and their relationship.   It takes place in what could be the future and i hope you guys like it.

I know that i'm adding yet another story but i'm currently updating my old ones so i hope you guys don't mind.

Due to recent decline of my story at first I said I would not put this up for future readers but I miss the readers I lost so i thought I would   THIS IS NOT A RAPE fic.    Somthing in the most recent chapter made it seem that way but if you read on you will see that it is not.   I treasure all my readers and value comments good or bad but for people to think wrong me I dont like.  I invite you back to my story i promise you will be glad you gave it another chance

omg this is so heartbreaking!  I've read amenisia stories before, (wrote one myself) but this one has a different, intriguing twist to it.  It's very realisitic.  Amnesia patients often remember bits and pieces of their past and confuse them with what's going on around them in the present.   Brian is displaying that perfectly.  Hopefully, when the swelling goes down, his brain will realign itself better.  Though parts of his memory maybe lost to him forever.  I hope that's not the case here!

I'm very much enjoying this story.  Thank you for posting it.

Author's Response: Yea This story is going to be very different and Brians condition is going to send them on journey

Reviewer: Gina Marie Signed

I'm thoroughly enjoying this story.  Your Brian and Justin are very much in character, yet the circumstances surrounding them are beleivable.  These situations, unfortunately, happen all too often.  Justin is in a big jam.

I have a bad feeling Craig is going to throw Justin out, and I've no faith in Jennifer at this point.  Though I have to be honest and say if Justin was old enough (and irresponsible enough) to make the baby, then he better be prepared to care for it, or put it up for adoption.   He's obviously too young to properly care for a baby (no less raise a child) and his parents or Brian, shouldn't be expected to take on that responsiblity.  Help, yes, but Justin will have to get a full time job...forget college, and find a way to raise "HIS" kid.  Or, like I said before, give the child up for adoption.  If he doesn't, then that leaves a situation where he sacrafices his life or others come in and take over responsibilities that SHOULD be his.  Like finances, etc.  Raising a child is a full time job.   Working parents hire nanny's, or the mother stays home.  Justin can't afford either.

Ok, enough...lol.  This is just a situation I've recently been exposed to and know all the ramifications of teen pregnancies/motherhood first hand.

Great story.

Author's Response:

Justin is in a jam. As for what the future holds... Yes, you point out a lot of the practical aspects of teen parenthood that most of these stories don't take into account, and I can tell you with certainty that all of your points will be addressed. Several people in this story will tell Justin to give Luke up for adoption, and even though Justin flat-out refuses, it's not the Penultimate Evil Suggestion--it actually is the best option for the child. I'm a huge believer in adoption for teen parents. Unfortunately, this story doesn't really reflect that. *shrug*

One of the major arcs of this story is Justin learning how to be a father, so I think you'll like that evolution. He's not... exactly... doing his best job at fatherhood right now, but he learns.

Anyway. I'm really glad that you appreciate the realism of the story, and the seriousness of the situation. I hope to see you again next week!

she would kill a school full of children to get justin back :)

all of the other agents kill according to the missions they are given and it does not matter to them who they should eliminate.

Justin and Michelle were so disciplined that the administration gave them an option to choose who they want to kill ... Justin select the bad guys .. Michelle doesnt really care who murdered ... The main thing is murder.

It's 2012, and eight years have passed since Brian Kinney and Justin Taylor have seen or talked to each other. Both men are living their own lives and are successful and happy; or so they think.

What happens when, in a bizarre turn of events and in a city far from either place the men respectively call home, the two run into each other? What happens when Brian finally admits to himself the huge mistake he made all those years ago and endeavors to get Justin back? What happens when Justin starts to question the path and the life he's chosen for himself?

Both men are very different then they were when they last saw each other; life's ups and downs have affected them to varying and shocking degrees. They're both older and arguably wiser, so will they find their way back to each other, or will they realize they're destined to always hurt each other?

Loved this chapter. Love where you are taking this story.   I like where Justin is. It feels real to me.  He has this deep unresolved feelings for Brian, but is also perfectly aware he is capable of moving forward without him.  He needs to face his past pain, and shame I believe at having been so naive and trusting, and move on .  I'm not sure Brian is going to give him the closure he is looking for, but it should be interesting.  :-)

Bring on the angst!  Got my box of tissues handy. Just promise me you'll make it better in the end.

Ok, wow!  Justin is out of control.   Hitting Aaron? Wow. That shocked me.  It's abuse and if Aaron doesn't leave, immediately, then he's an idiot.  Nothing Aaron did, or ever could do besides attacking Justin, could justify being hit.

Last chapter I REALLY didn't like Brian, this chapter I REALLY don't like Justin!  lol   Great job!

They deserve each other...

Yeah, the pushing and hitting surprised me, too, actually. Things have definitely gotten out of control in that relationship!

Reviewer: Gina Marie Signed
Date: January 12, 2014 Title: Chapter 11: Lay Here

I just deleted my very long thoughtful response by accident!  Uggghhh!  lol Anyway, loved this chapter.  Totally understand Justin's revelation that he loved Aaron, but wasn't 'in love' with him.  Many couples stay together because they love each other, but have never really been 'in love' with each other. Let's face it, being in love is hard.  Anything that powerful and wonderful, doesn't come with out a price - as our boys are starting to understand.

I feel really bad for Sean, more so than Aaron.  Especially now, knowing he was there for Brian during his second bout of cancer.  (nice twist btw) Brian should not throw him to the curb! He deserves better, and I expect Brian to give Sean better.  I hope they can remain friends, good friends.

And I don't think Justin gave in too easiliy.  Seeing that film made him realize how devestated he'd be if Brian died.  there is a certain security in knowing that someone you've loved (love) is out there somewhere. As long as they are alive, there still is 'hope'. Hope for recociliation, chance encouter, whatever.   even if you never see them again, you 'know' there is that possiblity.  So yeah, I can see, especially where Justin was at in his head, him running to Brian after seeing that movie.

Please don't give me too much angst!  I'm enjoying their reunion.

Author's Response:

So glad you liked the chapter! But bummer you deleted your first reponse! :(

The Brian and Sean stuff will be coming next chapter!

And yes, you've exactly interpreted what I'd hoped to convey with the movie and Justin's realization of his feelings for Brian.

There'll be just *a little* more angst...but I think you'll be happy with the final two chapters :D

To Karen

This is NOT a Brian-Justin site. It is a QAF site, as well as many other genres.  There are may B/O, J/O stories out there. If this is one you do not like, skip it. But do not accuse the author of not posting an 'acceptable' story here when you obviously do not know what is and isn't accpetable.

Oh this is bad...  Now my heart is breaking for Aiden cause he is going to get badly hurt, and he doesn't deserve it. Brian is being totally unfair here. He is not in love with Aiden, he should at least be clear about that to him before asking him to move in.  Aiden is just a crutch for Brian

Why move in? Why couldn't he just go on having a friend/fuck buddy he be comforted by until maybe someday, he can fall in love again?

I'm not liking Brian right now. I think he is being selfish.  If he would ask himself, "If Justin came back to me, and still have it all, would I jump at the chance"?  And the answer is no, he would never take Justin back again, then he can ask Aiden to move in.  But the answer is of course he would!

Seriously totally unfair of Brian to make that kind of committment with Aiden.  I'm a big Aiden fan.  He has done nothing wrong in this story, and he's going to end up a victim..

Excellent chapter btw. Don't take my comment as negative. They are raw emotons from a chapter well written - a story well played out.   I'm not suppose to love everything and every character, that's not *good* story telling to me. This one is breaking my heart, and I may end up hating Brian in the end, but that's ok.   Not all stories should be HEA's!  The best usually aren't.

Enjoy your vacation!

Author's Response:

Hi Gina Marie! I absolutely love your review. I mean it's amazing to me to see your support for my original character, I'm thrilled there is someone here that want to defend him :)

As you must guess, I don't agree with you about your perception of Brian's action in this chapter, as I truly believe he feels he is doing the right thing here, and that he really has deep feelings for Aidan. I see it as himself letting Justin go, even if he will always love him and allowing himself to take another chance on love again. But now that you voice your interpretation of the events that have just happened, I totally see your point too and why you feel that way... I love the fact that every reader has his own interpretation here...:)

thank you for your support on this story again, it means a lot to me.

Ok, so I  know that man in the Gallery is probably Aiden. and for some reason, him and Brian are no longer together, and I have to be honest, that truly saddens me. And it saddens me more because in this chapter, I don't think Justin deserves Brian.   I think their time has past.  (haters, calm down lol)

Justin has not been pinning away for Brian. If it weren't for the man in the Gallery, he would probably never have thought about going back to Brian. There was very little thought of Brian in this chapter.   That line, "he knows one day he'll go back to his friends, and Brian, even just as friends"

One day?  Really?  Sounds like he's planning his retirement!

I was hoping Brian and Aiden had moved on, togehter, as well. But it seems like that was Aiden in the Gallery, trying to get Justin to go back to Brian.

Ughhh.

I'm still very much enjoying this story, just sad over the inevitable outcome.  Hey, you always knew I was a big Aiden fan!  :-)

This chapter, for me, is emotionally charged.  Last chapter I was upset with Brian for moving too fast with Aiden. This chapter, I'm upset with Justin for not moving fast enough for Brian!  lol

Thanks for the update

Author's Response:

Hi Gina Marie! You are for sure my most fervent supporter for Aidan's character! Thank you for that. As for Brian and Aidan love story, all is not said yet. But I can't promise you a happy ending for Aidan... :( As for Justin... Well, I understand your point, again :) even if I don't necessarily agree ;) Also, it will not be easy for Justin to come back, meaning, Brian will not be welcoming him with open arms. Again, it will be more complicated (it seems I love complicated lol).

thank you again, for supporting this story and bearing with my ideas!

Ok, so I loved this chapter. I love that Aiden and Brian had a 'real' relationship and that Brian was able to love Aiden. It sounds like the years they spent together were happy. And that brings me joy.  But it breaks my heart that Aiden is now re-evaluating his life. Death will make you do that. Take stock in what you have.   Everything about Brian was rooted in his sister.

Very sad...  You really did this story and these character's justice.  I'm a big Aiden/Brian fan, and I am so happy they had 5 great years together without Justin hanging over their heads.  "if" Brian and Justin reunite, it won't be easy, and it shouldn't be.  One can't turn their hearts on and off, but one can learn to love again.  I think Brian may have 3 great loves in his life, and 2 belong to Justin.

Great chapter

Author's Response:

Hi Gina Marie,

Yes, Aidan and Brian had been happy during these five years. Aidan has his reasons to react the way he does here; as you say, death can decide any man to take action about his life...

And you're right, Brian and Justin, it won't be easy, it can't be. Life and love is so precious, still so complex.

Thank you again to take the time to share your thoughts with me :)

Why does everyone Brian loves leave him?  If I were Brian, I'd say to hell with both of them!  Ugh!

So Aiden went to see Justin during those 3 months? That seems very calculating. Why would he want Justin to go back to Brian? To make it easier for him to say goodbye?

Ugh again!  lol

My heart goes out to Brian in this chapter.   No wonder he doesn't believe in love, just fucking.  :-)

Author's Response:

Hi Gina Marie!

You're absolutely right to feel that way. Brian is truly hurt right now and he has every right to be...

It's so painful to write and yet, there is a reason of course for Aidan to react that way, but Brian doesn't know it. is Aidan going to tell him though?

Thank you again to share your thoughts with me. :)

First, thank you so much for the beautiful ending between Brian and Aiden.  It tore my heart.   I think on some level Brian 'knows'. And I hope you don't leave us hanging and tell us before the story ends!

Second, I want you to know that this story, has quickly become one of my top 5 favorites. Right up there with Full Circle, by bedeviled.   I still cry over that one.  This story is of the same magnitude.

I do hope you don't rush it along.  The 'reunification' between Justin and Brian, in order to be believable, must not be rushed, and filled with ups and downs. It shouldn't come easy, but in the end, I believe they will find a love stronger in many ways then what they had in the past.  Because of their experiences loving others, they will appreciate and cherish their newfound relationship even more.  (well I hope)

Amazing chapter.  Thank you.

Author's Response:

Hi Gina Marie,

First, I'm really glad you think Brian and Aidan's ending was beautiful, I wanted to give them a chance to say goodbye. And I think you're right about Brian 'knowing'. Clearly, he wouldn't react that way if he didn't have an idea about why Aidan is acting that way, even if he might not be really conscious about it now. We will know of course at one point why Aidan felt he had to go now, and not later, and what Brian will think about it.

OMG, thank you so much for this absolutely great compliment on this story. I'm sooo happy you feel that way, I can't believe it. THANK YOU.

I will not rush Brian and Justin's reunion. As you say, it will take time, it will not be easy, and most of all, when they will finally make their way back to each other, it will be the right time for both of them.

Again, Thank you so much Gina Marie for your support on this story :)

Did I mention this is one of my favorite stories now?

I loved this chapter.  It's very realistic.  No just falling into each others arms.  This is gritty and raw and real and I LOVE it!

Brian's reaction to Justin is believable. I wouldn't have bought it had it gone down any other way.   He's hurt, and now his ex lover pops up?  He's shutting down. Only time, and maybe a little persistance from a particular blonde will help heal him.  :-)

Great chapter.

Author's Response:

Hi Gina Marie,

As always, I'm currently smiling like a fool reading the first line of your comment, Thank you!

It is amazing for me to explore Brian and Justin's characters at this point of the story. Both men have changed a lot. Both men have unresolved feelings for each other, whatever these feelings are. Both men are at a turning point in their life. One is going through a painful event, the other is at a point in his life where he is serene and happy. Brian is shutting down, you're right and Justin wants to help, or at least for Brian to know he's here if needed. I have all the ingredients to write about the themes I treasure the most, Life, Friendship, Family and Love... I really hope you will like to discover Brian and Justin's new relationship in the next chapters...

That's true love. Justin understanding, and respecting Brian's love for Aiden. And wanting Brian to face and accept them, before they can move forward together.  Love is selfless and Justin is being that.  Letting Brian feel, grief, for his lost love.   My heart was truly touched with this chapter.

And I'm very happy that Brian can hold on to his love for Aiden, and renew his love with Justin. He truly never did stop loving Justin, but now he can love him probably more fully (if that's the word I'm looking for) because he has expreineced love with another man.  He has a deeper inner knowledge, and his heart is just a little bigger, and more exercised.   Loving Justin now has new meaning and dept for him.
