Midnight Whispers
QAF Brian and Justin Fanfiction

Author’s Notes:   Okay so here we are with chapter 3.    I was told by the requester that she wished it followed the movie more.   I get what she was saying, but it was hard for me to set it up like the movie if I was going to use the characters from the show.   I mean I could’ve easily did the entire movie and just taken out the names and added the ones of the QAF characters, but then where would the fun in that would have been.    So from this chapter on the story will be more like the movie, because I love this movie and I wanna get it right.    WARNINGS FOR THIS CHAPTER:    THERE WILL BE SCENES OF HETEROSEXUAL LOVE, I REPEAT HETEROSEXUAL LOVE!!!!!    I SHUDDER AT THE THOUGHT.

Chapter 3

There’s A Song That’s Inside of my Soul

Brian was very confused on what had just happened, and how he found himself in the situation he was currently in.    He had given Justin the sign, and he’d given him the look, but it didn’t work like he planned.   He thought by now he’d have him in secret love lair and they would be up to no good as they would say, but nope that’s not what happened.    The twink got a phone call and he was here….in church.

*WR*

Jennifer Taylor was trying to get her notes together, but she couldn’t seem to concentrate.   Her son Justin had been volunteering at school with the kids who needed extra tutoring, and she was surprised when she called him to remind him where he needed to be who was in tow when he arrived.    Everyone knew who Brian Kinney was.    Trouble making, narcissistic asshole.    God knew that she wasn’t supposed to think that of a boy in her congregation, but she didn’t want him to corrupt her son in his secret ways.

Joan Kinney had gotten to church bright and early that Sunday morning.    She needed to ask the lord to bless her daughter Claire.   It looked like Claire might be going through a dirty divorce soon, and she was going to need a lot of strength if she was going to come out the winner on the other side.    Then there was Brian.    God she loved that boy, he didn’t think she did but she really did, he was just stubborn, and she knew what he was up to with that Novotny boy.    She had to let him see what was wrong and right.   This latest thing with that Todd boy, she knew his kind, and she prayed to the lord that her boy didn’t fall.   He just needed to stay with Lindsay and be happy.   Oh yes, the lord would help him get down that troubling road.

Justin Taylor had no idea what Brian was up to.    He hadn’t meant to knock him down, and he had to right thing in helping him pick up his papers, but he saw that face and he knew what it meant.    He thought that he was going to be able to get in his pants.    The thought of that made him physically shudder.     Did he really think he was that type of man?   He wasn’t, he couldn’t be.   He had bigger and more important things to do and Brian Kinney was not one of them.   He had been listening to his mother’s sermon, and now it was time for him to take stage.

Brian had enough of this.   He really couldn’t really figure out why he was still there.    He just gave the guy a ride, but then it was like a force had pulled him inside, which was odd because his mother had tried to get him here every Sunday, and he would run through hell in gasoline underwear but he had sat down.    He was just about to leave but he heard the voice of an angel.

He turned to the stage and was shocked that Justin had taken the stage.   He was wearing a horrible looking suit, but he would let that slide, because what was coming from his lips.   Well it had to be what an angel sounded like.   He found himself sitting back down and listening.    He was singing something about a lighthouse, and he knew that the good lord was frowning on him because of what was happening in his pants right then.    He would stay and listen to the sweet sound of Justin Taylor.

*AW*

Lindsay didn’t know what the hell Brian’s problem was, but she was starting to regret coming over to make out with him, she couldn’t we over to Mel’s and been fully satisfied by now.

“What the hell is going on Brian?” she shouted lying back on his bed.

“I’m not in the mood to put on a show for “the warden” right now.” He replied deep in thought.

“No, it’s something else I know.   You haven’t been the same since that night, you do know that Saperstein can’t really do what he says.   All we have to do is get on camera what he likes to do after hours, and we could be the victims.” She told him as she failed at one of his famous smirks.

“I can handle Saperstein, I was thinking about Justin Taylor, do you know him?”

“Well yea, everyone knows Justin, I mean he’s Justin.   Head of the Drama Team, the Cheerleaders, and the Glee Club.   He’s Rev. Taylor’s son, he walks around in those dorky clothes, that huge sweater.  Oh my God, I saw that thing on the bench the other day, I was going to throw it away but the stench of it made it so I couldn’t get close.    I think he wears it all the time, he most get cold a lot.”

“Get out!” he shouted.   He didn’t even look back when he knocked her on the floor.

“What the hell Brian, I don’t have to keep doing this, if you would just tell your folks that you’re a fag I wouldn’t have to come over here pretending to be your girlfriend.” She huffed looking for her top.

“You love every minute of it.    Let yourself out there’s someplace I have to go.

*AW*

Justin’s head was really beginning to hurt, he didn’t know why he could get these things through his mother’s head.   It was like she saw Brian Kinney and she saw the devil.   He decided that he was going to add him to his list, he was going to make him see his self-worth.

“Mom you don’t know the full story of what happened with Todd.   I was at that party that night, all night he said he was going to do whatever it took to get in with them.”

“You think that jumping off a roof is a good thing to do.   No son of mine will be seen gallivanting around town with Kinney.   He’s no good, if this is the life that you decide to choose you can do so much better than him.”

“Mom, I’m not dating Brian Kinney!” he shouted.

Jennifer Taylor was about to start round three with her son, but there was a knock at the door.   When she looked out the window, she saw the little delinquent outside on her step checking his reflection in her doorknob.

“Oh really you say, you have no interest at all in Brian Kinney.”

“I have no interest in Brian Kinney.    Not like that.” He told his mother.

“Good, then you will have no problem in removing him from my steps.” She told him as she opened her door to her soon.

Brian couldn’t help but smile at the awkward smile that Justin had on his face when his mother practically threw him outside on their front porch.

“Yes.” He asked in a soft voice.

“Yea, so you and Honeycutt, you are the ones in church of the play right?”

“Yea, and he wouldn’t like you calling him Honeycutt.”

“Listen, you know my situation.   The whole school knows it.   I didn’t want to be put in this stupid play, I just got thrown in it because of the shit with Todd, and I was wondering if maybe I could come over sometime and you could help me with my lines.” He said in one breath.

Justin couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he was.   When he looked at him, he just didn’t see the badass guy that all the rumors were floating around school about.   When he saw him, he still saw the kid from kindergarten.

“Sure Brian I’ll help you with the play, you just have to promise me one thing.” He smiled.

“Oh yea Sunshine, what’s that?”

“Don’t fall in love with me.” He whispered as he kissed him on the cheek.

Brian was shocked, he was literally frozen on his step where he left him.

End Notes:    Ok so here’s another chapter.   Still sort of following the movie but then sort of not.   You know it’s hard writing this because my stories normally have to plot lines so I can bounce with one to the other, but not in this case.    Some folks want to know if this will be a death fic.   Well it’s about a movie where a death happens and that’s the way the requester wants, so it’s going to have to happen.   Then there’s the fact that I don’t like death fics, so I’ve decided this story will have two endings.   It’ll be up to you the reader to read the one you want.   I mean I can do that right?    Lol as always I have not edited this, and comments make me smile.
