Chapter Thirteen: We Don't Have to Do This Alone

Emmett's POV:

"God this fog's not helping us at all!" I whispered to Maggie who nodded as we all stood in a circle and as walkers growled all around. Suddenly one came out of no where and attacked Sasha who stabbed it in the head and dropped it as more came. We all started to kill walkers and one bit Bob on his arm.

"Bob, no!" Sasha yelled and shot it in the head as I stabbed one that got way to close to biting Maggie on his chest. We all breathed deep breaths to help us calm down as I helped Maggie up and turned to see Sasha hugging Bob.

"Ouch!" he yelled and she pulled back quickly.

"I said ouch, not stop." he said with a smile and she smiled back at him and helped him up. "I'm ok, it got the bandage." he said and we all sighed in relief then.

"We need to get out of here! We can't see and that's not to our advantage!" Andrea yelled and I nodded and looked around.

"We need to wait til we can see again. Leaving in this is just as dangerous now." I told her and she sighed but nodded.

We waited together and once the fog was cleared we got up and walked towards the roads. When we got there Amy stopped and put her hand on my arm to stop me.

"Em, look." she said and I looked up to see a sign that had directions on it. Slowly, we all walked up to it and saw that we were on it's path.

"Terminus." Amy said and Andrea looked above it.

"Sanctuary: Those who arrive, survive. " she read aloud and I looked up at it too.

"What do you think?" Maggie asked and I felt hope.

"We go, our family might be there." I said and Sasha looked at me.

"That's a big risk Em, we don't know if our family's there. Or if any of them lived." she said and I pointed at the map.

"If they're alive they're heading for this. If Glenn's alive he'd go here looking for me looking for him. I say we go." I said and she sighed.

"It's to big a risk. There's no hope that it's even there. Besides, we follow this, how do we even know they'll be other maps?" She asked and Bob laughed.

"Do you really think this is the only one we'll run into? Look, if we need to take a vote we will." he said and stood beside me as did the others.

Sasha looked at all of us and sighed. "We don't have to." she said and began to walk. I smiled at the others and followed her as we headed for Terminus.

A few hours later we all stopped in a clearing and I walked off with Andrea to get firewood while the others stayed behind.

When we came back the others were asleep except Sasha and Bob.

"Look, chances are Glenn's dead, just like the others. I say we follow these tracks until we get to a town and find a tall building and settle there." Sasha said and I looked at her sadly.

"Sasha, I'm not stopping, none of us are." Bob said and laid down to sleep as did Sasha.

"Don't listen to her Em, she just needs time." she said and I nodded and watched her walk away to Amy. I looked at the group and sighed before laying down the wood I was holding, grabbing my stuff, and writing a note in the dirt telling them not to follow me. When that was done I stood and smiled at them once more then left and followed the tracks.

I walked until I found another map and smiled at it and pulled a knife out to write to Glenn when a growl came behind me. I turned and saw a walker coming at me and got a great idea.

I quickly pushed the walker to the ground and stabbed it in the head then cut its stomach open and stuck my hand in and walked back to the wall.

GLENN, GO TO TERMINUS

I wrote as big as I could and stepped back to look at it. I nodded at it then turned and walked in the direction the map told me to. I did this to the next map I walked up to and when I got to the third one I went to look for a walker only to find a town and a little bit more walkers than I wanted.

I tried to fight them off but it was obvious that my chances of getting out of this alive were dying and fast.

I took down a walker and looked around at the others breathing hard and I knew I was dead.

One walker was coming at me quickly and I just looked at it and jumped slightly when a shot rang out and it fell. I looked up and saw Andrea holding the gun in her hand. I sighed in relief as the others came to help me take down the rest of the walkers. When that was done we all stopped and the others looked at me.

"The hell made you decide to leave us like that?!" Maggie yelled as she walked up to me and pulled me into a hug. I hugged her back tightly and sighed.

"I couldn't let you guys risk yourselves for me." I said and she pulled back only for Beth to hug me.

"We're family Em, we're supposed to risk ourselves for each other. We all love you and we love the others. We'll get to Terminus and the others will be there. And if they're not there when we show up, well, we'll be able to brag about getting there first." she said and I laughed at her as did the others.

"So, we all on board with Terminus?" I asked mainly looking at Sasha.

She smiled at me and nodded. "We're all on board. Took awhile for it to happen, but we're all on board." she said and I smiled at her.

"You don't have to do this alone Em. None of us do." Andrea said and I turned my smile to her and nodded.

"You're right, let's go to Terminus, together." I said and they all nodded and helped me to leave Glenn my message then followed the path the map said to follow.

Glenn's POV:

We were walking for quite a while before we came across some tracks with a sign on them. We walked up to it and I saw something on the wall on the other side of it that had my heart speed up in hope.

GLENN, GO TO TERMINUS

-EM

I walked to the map and saw the path that led us to this Terminus, to my Em. I slowly reached to the map and petted the word on it.

'I'm coming.' I mentally told Em and smiled brightly.
