Finally! One of the best authors...back in the saddle! So glad you decided to return. If I'd been forced to read one more fic about the "older, taller, hazel eyed, brunette ad exec" and the "younger, shorter, blue eyed, blond artist", I believe I would have hurled.
Thank you for ix-naying the epithets that some other 'writers' use as often as "the, and, or but" and just getting on with an awesome and extremely engaging story. I have to be careful to change things up myself. There are things I have Justin and Brian do too often (quirking eyebrows, smiling million-watt smiles, rolling lips into mouths...). It's easy to fall into repetition, but I do try. I'm happy you noticed :-)
I'm going to be finishing my stories four at a time. I think Fawn.Armani, Buttercup and Enigma, How Sweet It Is, and Taylor will be finished sometime in December.
I'm glad you're on board for a sequel. I really do want to write one.

Oh, I'm so glad they seem to have worked this out! I love this story. Brian tried again to behave like an asshole in order to save Justin all pain he can still possibly cause - I feel pissed at him, but I'm happy Justin stood his ground. He was right, I loved what he told Brian - yes, it was incredibly painful to be with him, but it also brought him incredible joy. Staying through all that pain was worth it, and that's the most important thing.
I loved the ending. And the whole chapter. Thank you!

That's something a lot of third parties (parts of the gang) never really got about Brian and Justin ... the absolute trust they have (excepting Ethan) ... the way they take care of each other and genuinely want the other to be happy no matter what, together or apart (that scene in canon with Brian and Justin in the bathroom killed me but made me love Brian even more) ... the way they help each other grow and just love each other more and more ... ALL THAT is special, not everyday love. It's worth a little pain.

Oh-oh, that was painful. I'm glad Ethan fell into the trap, and I'm glad Michael set himself up, but it was so heartbreking to see Justin in that state. Brian isn't guilty right now, but in the past he did make Justin feel like he's special and then humiliated him over and over again. So Justin doesn't even really need to act - he remembers that pain very well. Maybe it's a good thing Brian hears it. At first it will hurt him, but maybe in the end it'll make them both stronger.
Author's Response: I couldn't agree more on all points. Brian's problem is that he didn't believe love like the love they have could actually exist (at the beginning of the series). He spent a lot of time trying to *help* Justin (and protect himself) by showing Justin about the *real world*. Such wasted time...

I loved this chapter! At first I was suspicious of Susan, because I hate when people start with 'look at how you're sitting' things, but later she showed her good qualities. I didn't expect that the first session would be such a success! Poor Brian, it was so touching to see how he wanted to believe Justin's words, but couldn't because of his insecurities. I loved that Justin was vulnerable, but also so strong in this chapter. It was beautiful, thank you!

Sometimes I feel sorry for her, but mostly she just annoys me. She's a hypocrite and she's in love with Brian - or with the idea of him. She supports him and Justin, and when things get serious, when Brian gets serious, she changed her mind and does everything to undermine their relationship. Like here. What good did her words do? Brian started to doubt everything again. I'm so happy Justin managed to make him believe him! The ending was great, I loved it, I hope they will manage to stay just as strong.

Huh, great chapter! I laughed at Daphne's sufferings with Ted - at her attempts to make conversation with him. Poor Daphne! She deserves a medal! And Ethan freaked me out with his phone call. Great chapter! I'm shocked that the doctor now knows abou Brian agreeing to go to couples counseling. This is bad, if people start gossiping - and family criticizing (because Michael probably will), Brian can react badly. And somebody can get hurt.
I rarely like other couples in stories, but I feel really curipus about Emmett and Rob. I like them, their relationship is so tender and careful. Emmet is treading softly, and that's exactly what Rob needs. I hope they'll be okay!

Oh. My. God! Ethan now knows all the weak places in Brian and Justin's life! There couldn't be a worse way to threaten their relationship again. Ethan heard what Justin said, but I think it's useless to think he will take a hike. He's obsessed by now. But, I'm glad he gave Justin one good advice. Maybe this counseling will help. They surely need to discuss everything to be able to trust each other again. I never hoped Brian would agree, but I'm so happy he did! It was both funny and sad seeing how he tried to find information on the Internet and then pretended he didn't do it :) Brian can be so amusing. Oh, that was an emotional chapter! My heart is breaking for both Brian and Justin. Brian is right, Justin did break his own rules, he hurt him tremendously, but then again, Brian wasn't the nicest of people, it was almost physically difficult for Justin to be with him. Not knowing whether he will be humiliated at any moment, or forced to watch Brian with someone else, or to recieve hustler as a gift... their biggest problem was always communication. I'm glad that now at least they sorted things out - a little. Time should pass to heal their wounds, but they're willing to wait together, and that's good already. Thank you, it was a wonderful chapter.

Nothing to be nervous about - it's a great chapter. I love how Brian expressed himself honestly. It's hard to trust someone after that trust is broken - it takes time and effort. We all make mistakes and if we're truly sorry we should be forgiven but need to except that it'll take time.
To answer your question about my son after he was rufied - he spent the night in hospital but he's fine and a lot wiser.

Yes, trust is hard for everyone once it's broken but even more so for Brian. He spent so much time protecting himself from this possibility ("not caring" so he "couldn't" get hurt) that a betrayal after begrudgingly letting your guard down...hard.

That part of Michael's character never changes. He's so self-involved and resistant to change/growth. And he'll do and say terrible things if he thinks he's right. This didn't end with his begrudging acceptance that Brian wasn't the same...Hunter, Mel, etc. He's always so judge-y and immovable.
I actually thought that was a pretty decent place to stop :-) We can all breathe a little easier knowing that Brian has seen Michael a little more realistically, that he realizes he messed up, and BAD. He should have been more patient. But he's been on edge, and insecure, for weeks. He refused to press Justin on more than one occasion because he was afraid of what he would learn...something that makes him feel less than and sick has just happened or he thought it had (and that coupled with Justin's relatively recent confession that he'd broken the rules yet again, this time a SERIOUS breach) just made it impossible for Brian to engage in a mature way.
