Even though I am super happy that Brian is doing better. The only thing I am wishing every second is for Justin not to be Brian's sponsor anymore. Ahhhhhh!!! But I'll be patient and let things work the way they are supposed to. BTW... Michael is an ass. Lmao
Author's Response: Yes, Justin as Brian's sponsor is a little problematic for many reasons and especially ethical ones. I agree, Michael is an ass. Patience is a virtue and one I hope my readers appreciate. I never thought I'd still be writing this story 2+ years later, but there is so much to tell and my readers seem to enjoy the long tale. Thank you for writing.

Inviting Deb to the dinner party would only end up with her doing the cooking which would make Gus upset. I'm enjoying seeing how you manage Brian's problems while giving him options that improve his friendships with Ted and Emmett and going to work without a hangover. I think having a dinner party with Deb, Mikey and Ben might be an idea, because Ben could be the voice of reason.
Author's Response: Before Michael would be invited, he would have to accept Brian's sobriety. Debbie would try to cook, so that would be hurtful to Gus.

You keep going at your own pace I'm enjoying how it's playing out. Sobriety isn't quick.
This was so good, loved Gus talking about food and wanting to do a dinner. Emmet was so supportive along with Justin that Brian didn't panic to much. I look forward to seeing how it plays out. As for the big idiot child he needs a swift kick up the arse, I swear. Shake him and you will hear a rattle .

Author's Response: Thank you for the comment. Gus has always wanted to have a dinner that he and Brian cook. He is confident that he can cook after only a few forays with Emmett. We wil see how well and Brian handle making their first chicken attemp.

I think it's a long-standing friendship that is going to end. Michael is stuck with his mantra "I am your best friend" "I will take you home to safety". Michael needs to make changes too, but as usual he doesn't listen. I can't wait to see how the dinner organized and cooked by Gus and Brian will go.
It was hard to read this chapter its formatting was weird everything was glued!!!
Author's Response: Thanks for letting me know the formatting came out weird. I fixed it!!! Brian's willingness to walk away and to go straight to a meeting shows how much growth he has experienced. Hopefully, Michael won't cause any more trouble.

WOW! I can't tell if Michael is obtuse (can anyone be that obtuse?), stupid (not even he can be that stupid), deaf (well, he could have made himself deaf with all his whining) or just evil (leaning towards this, though I am and always have been biased about him being rotten to the core/evil, so it may just be me).
Poor Brian, I have to think his heart is a little (or a lot) broken. The pain that he must feel that his "best friend" wants him to be a drunk just so he can have a way to "take care of him" must be awful.
Really love the relationship that is growing with Gus. They don't seem like strangers any more.

Author's Response: I've never been a Michael fan and even though this is somewhat of an alternate universe, I still have kept many things the same. Michael is obtuse and stupid and really for him it is "all about me". Every conversation he had was always about him and how it impacted him. I think some of the pain has already been dealt with through his long journey and the many times Michael has already shown he just doesn't "get it". I'm really pleased that you are getting a sense of the relationhsop between Gus and Brian. Since this relationship wasn't really shown much in the show, it is a real compliment that my writing has given you that perspective.
