Loved it!!   That was very cool of Brian and Justin to give Gus his own space.    If only he was with them full time, it would be even better.   Mel and Linds surely don't appreciate what they have - or had, as the case may be.    And even if Brian and Justin had broken up once - or three times, as they may think, years ago, they are still togeter now, all these years later.   Mel and Linds can't even say that!!!

Author's Response:

Thank you.  Yes.  I honestly think that Brian and Justin had the best chance of making it long term simply because they don't have all these romantic notions of what it means to be together.  Maybe Justin did once, but I think now he knows how to value Brian's ethics and honesty above fake romance any day.

Love this universe.  Not surprised by Mel and Lindz, but am delighted with Daphne and Dani.  The fact that Gus' dads fixed up a space just for him is truly fantastic.

Gus is such a lucky boy ...... lovely story thanks for sharing

Author's Response:

Thank you,  Yes, in some ways he is.  In others, of course, he has to cope with the whole Linds/Mel thing.  Glad you enjoyed.

Oh Wren, I absolutely loved this. But anything from the Homecoming Series, is sure to be a given. Gus sounded so grown up for thirteen. But with Mel and Linds, it's only natural that he's had to. I love the sound of Justin and Daphne having a little baby. Seeing the story through Gus' thoughts and reflections was a nice change. And leave it to the three wonder twits, to tell him that Dus and Brian broke up three times, instead of the once. (but we won't mention the chin rat.)

The bedroom was a very nice surprise and the best gift Gus could have been given. It's what he wanted more than anything. And Brian and Justin realized that, and gave him what he needed. Super Dads.

You had me at "But I'll always be your Sonnyboy."  It chokes me up just writing it again.

Lovely Christmas Story.

HUGS ~ Cathy

Author's Response:

Thanks, Cathy

I agree that Gus would have had to grow up a little faster than most kids - partly because of Linds and Mel and partly just because he is the child of gay parents.  Also, while we know Brian adores his Sonnyboy I think in some ways he'd treat Gus in a similar way to how he treated Justin - with respect, encouraging him to be his own person, and doing whatever he could to enable Gus's growth, but also holding him responsible for his decisions.  It's a mix that I suspect would lead to Gus maturing fairly early.
