i  think that joan has made remarkable progress since she left rehab. she's friends now with roofer guys mother, been nice to debbie, eating out with the other ladies in the parish, helping and contributing to the food bank and had a truly wonderful lunch with john and peter. that's nothing to sneeze it.

i could easily see joan actually reach out to the priest to discuss brian's being gay and trying to understand him and his way of life. i think she's open to at least discussing it with him and i think/hope she could get the knowledge to find her way to acceptance of his lifestyle even if she can't so a happy-dance over it. and brian has it in him to forgive. he has taken care of his mother for years, in spite of everything and there's that confused part of him who doesn't want to see her die alone in her house... her acceptance of justin will mean a lot to him and seeing her develop a solid relationship with john and peter will also help a lot. they may never be best buds but i do think there is a real possilility of civil, semi-normal relationship developing. brian's bark is always worse than his bite with family.

i'm thinking something is going to push linds over the edge and it may be a refusal to show her  mediocre art. and i even feel a little sorry for mel with linds' issues. mel is overwhelmed and doesn't see what she can do to "fix" linds. she's been riding out the out of control lilnday and just grateful to see the susy homemaker linds  when she pops up. i think the nut house is in linds future... and i worry about jr being alone with linds when she's not doing well.

Joan realizes hiw much she has missed out on because of her alcoholism and is determined to continue sobriety.  It is still difficult for her to abandon lifelong beliefs and fully accept Brian & Justin.  That may be beyond her capacities.  Mel amd Linds are trapped in a sad situation.  Lindsay is seriously ill and needs support, Melanie has to work in order to fullfill their financial obligations.  Not a recipe for sucess and porr JR is caught in the middle of it.  Not a happy household!!  Your reviews always give me food for thought and I appreciate that!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thanks,  Bill

My Sweet Baboo, So happy to see a chapter. Love Jen she sure handled the fools (the Hawkins father and son )Can't wait to meet Jen's brother, hope he's on Granny's side or poor Alice will be cleaning up a mess by the time Brian, Jen, and Granny finish with him,after trying to drug her mother Granny should have her daughter arrested she had no feelings for her mother just pure greed. Darling Sally, always happy to hear from you!!!   Jen has a history of dealing with Joe Harkins, now Frank knows she is no pushover.  Both of them are bullies used to intimidating people.  It takes a lot to intimidate Grandmom Jen.  The Harkins are not equal to that task. I think Granny won't need any help dealing with Eddie, she is just waiting to explain how things REALLY are to him.  I think it would be too painful to Granny to expose Kate's behavior to the world.  You are right Joan is her own worst enemy and is starting to realize how she has wasted her life.  Not quite ready to dismiss he long time beliefs and accept her son for the person he is.  Love and many hugs back to you.  I remain as always, your sweet Baboo.

Great chapter as always!!   I'm looking forward to Eddie's visit and for Granny to fill him on Kate's behavior.   I have a feeling he is in for a rude awakening!!!    I was very happy to see Joan getting along so well with John and Peter and them filling her in on everything Brian and Justin have done for them.    After going through the rehab, I'm not surprised that she is now more easy going, but was happy to see her being pleasant with Justin and even telling him they could be on a first name basis.    I am, though, still waiting for some kind of meeting with Brian and Joan, now that she is sober, as I think that would be very eye opening for him.   While I don't think he could forgive her for how she treated him growing up, I think it would be nice if they could at least be on even ground with each other.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.  I think you are correct about Eddie.  He is going to find out the truth from Granny,.  I think Joan realizes how much she has missed out on in life.  Her long time beliefs are difficult for her to dismiss and admit she has been so so wrong for so long.  Brian may be reluctant to meet with Joan because he doesn't want to be tempted to forgive her.  He has a very full life without her and may not want to dreg up his painful past.  Just a thought???  Thanks for taking time to review!!!  Bill

So glad to see an update thank you! Despite all it's nice to see Joan sober but it's a shame that she does not want to accept the love of Brian and Justin, she is really a loser, especially since she sees the happy life that the family has. Gus and his brother and sister are adorable. Ted and Blake's neighbor should be prosecuted for invasion of privacy (not sure that it exists!). Now I am waiting for Eddie to visit, he will surely get his mother reframe and he will be able to explain to his brother the lies and the jealousy of their sister. I wish Granny would press charges against Kate, in the end she deserved it. Lindsay is still so crazy. I can't wait to hear what's on her mind. See you soon, I hope not so long, take care of yourself.

Joan is a sad person, wasted life.  She is not happy and she has never made anyone else happy.  Her beliefs are more om[ortant than people.  At least now she is starting to see where she might be wrong.  I always thought babies were fascinated by small children.  It is like they can relate to kids easier than full grown people.  The nighbor is like a lot of people who like to stir up trouble and attempt to act innocent about what they have done and try to act like a victim.  I think Granny will leave not doubt in Eddie's mind that she is fully capable of running her own life.  I don't belive Granny would ever play a role in sending one of her children to jail.  Lindsay is not well and getting worse.  Thanks for the review, I do love it get them!!!!!!  Bill

YAY!!!!  I was so happy to see this new chapter and it was so great!!  

Loved getting some updates on what was happening with everyone.  UGHHHH...that lying, conniving Kate.  I can't believe Jen's brothers are believing all the crap she lied about.  Hopefully when Eddie arrives he will get set straight and start helping contain his lying greedy sister and gullible brother, instead of causing trouble himself. I am really really looking forward to reading all of that and the fallout that Kate will suffer (and I really want her to suffer as anyone who would do that to their own mother should suffer - have I mentioned I get really vengeful??). Glad to hear Kate's lawyer got fired and censored.

I was happy hearing about what happened to Ted & Blake's nosy neighbors snoopy friend and that she was reprimended and suspended for what she did.  I hope Violet is understanding of Ted's past; that it won't be a problem with them adopting Nina. I would think she would know that both Ted & Blake are recovering addicts.  Hopefully she will be understanding about the arrest.

I really liked the Joan scenes and glad it was for the most part good for her and the boys and that she treated Justin much better.  I hate she still can't accept Brian's lifestyle, but she is starting to see the good too.  

I LOVE GRANNY!!  and Grandmom Jen!!  I just had to get that out. 

Glad we had no whiner in this chapter, but have to say that I still think Lindsay is batshit craycray! I feel Deb's concern and am more and more creeped out by the lalalaland she lives in, and her continued opinion that Justin has no say of what goes in his gallery. Creepy CrayCray!!

 I love this story and have been missing it so much!!!  I can't wait read more (especially about Eddie's visit and fallout) and I am begging you on bended knees bring it to us very soon!

Hi Holly, happy to know you enjoyed this chapter after the lonf wait.  Kate is trying her best to get some control over Granny and her money.  She is doomed to failure.  I'm pretty sure that Granny is going to set Eddie straight about her being able to take care of herself.  I hate people who try to stir up trouble and try to play the victim when they called on their actions.  The great thing about writing a story is you can make events turn out like you want.  Joan is realizing what she is missing out on in life but it is difficult to overturn your life long beliefs.  Nice to see her making some progress in her view of life. I love Granny and Grandmom Jen too!!!!  Lindsay mental health seems to be getting worse instead of better.  Mel seems unable to unwilling to realize what is going on with her wife.  I get the distinct inpression that you enjoy my long sagq, thank you!!!   Always enjoy reding your reviews, thanks for all your support!!!!!  Bill
